  1. I recently celebrated my 50th Anniversary for working at the same hospital since I graduated in 1972. My sister was there today and sent me a picture. I did not know they even put it up.

  3. The show was amazing as expected. DH and I had fabulous seats, Dead center in the third row. But the first two rows were put seats and then there was an aisle, so we had plenty of leg room. Both Clay and Ruben were in fine voice tonight. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" blew me away. The banter tonight seemed much shorter, but it was still funny. At the beginning of the second act, Clay wasnt able to do his where were you joke because someone in the audience yelled out I love you Clay! (Just like old times, right? Haha). Clay shot back wrong team, honey! The other funny thing was at the endClay grabbed Rubens jacket for the finale. Ruben was like, I cant get this jacket on! And the Clay wondered if he had lost weight! There was a professional photographer taking shots throughout the first half of the show. I would keep an eye out for them. Also, there were a couple of older, very enthusiastic Ruben fans there too. A couple, and they were slow dancing in the aisle at one point. It was cute. Almost home now. DH is driving. Excuse any typos

  5. Kat McPhee Foster posted on her Instagram Stories yesterday that the David Foster family was playing Celebrity Family Feud! And one of the clips features Clay, so it's looking like it's the Foster family vs. the Aiken family. https://www.instagram.com/stories/katharinefoster/3342156482701255691/

  6. Clay's instagram was like one of these Brain Teasers Puzzles that I just can't put down until its solve . Here's the wacko guess I just posted on Twitter. Box topper > clown costume: double neck ruffle highlighted with single 4-hole clown button ; blk/wht a common color scheme. Inside>> some musical link related to clowns/circus. {Currently can only think of Send In The Clowns} Clay, am I close or just clowning around? 🤡

  7. Beaner.. I think you are very right on this one! I’ve read that most people think they are second best, only after the singer that some think is Astin. Looking forward to seeing the whole thing, but I’m heading for Germany in a few days to see my son stationed there in AF. Wish me luck, this is first time flying internationally for me! 😬

  8. I 💯second the author's last statement on his summary of the show ❤️ https://www.mlive.com/life/2024/01/ruben-and-clay-do-throwback-style-variety-show-with-plenty-of-motown-in-motown.html quote: "Ruben and Clay put on such a fun night of music, stories and comedy, they could probably record this two hour show and run it as a prime-time network or Netflix special."

  9. Following recaps Ldyj posted 2 days ago, and the TiKTok just now, I'm sharing my unfiltered first impression thoughts on the 2 shows I was so fortunate to go to. Alert: they're my opinions only, 😜 and I won't feel hurt if you don't agree !! 1. That Blue Suit, which by the way, looked damn gorgeous on him, was definitely 99.9999% newly worn. Why so certain? Well, the center back 'kick pleat' was still basted together [TMI -basting stitches are long loose threads used to temporarily hold layers of fabric together and are usually manually removed before a garment is worn]. No worries, the threads usually come out after some wear and tear. 2. That Super Sparkly Manicure, which also looked magnificent, especially with that blue suit as backdrop, took his 'penchant to emote through his hands' to a whole new level. I admittedly focused on his hands through entire songs during my second show. And, this new mani fits right in with the shiny jackets used on the Tour. Don't think Ruben would go along with that though 🤪 ! Happy Holidays Everyone! Beanerknits

  12. The show tonight in St. Charles was AMAZING. Both guys were in fine voice. TLS was exquisite -- Clay throws his heart and soul into that song. I also had a M&G. Clay wore his skort and a yellow hoodie. The yellow matched the top I had on. He looked incredibly handsome. More later after some sleep. Clack will be forthcoming.

  18. Read the forward and he did a great job writing. Home from our camping/biking trip. We actually rode for 10days and today was the second rainout we had. We decided to come home because it was going to continue to rain all day. We actually did 400 miles. Here is another picture of the scenery we saw. We did a combination of trail and road.

  21. Hi there! I’m still around. Just have little interest in anything right now. The celebration was beautiful and we think we had about 200 people show up and got 160 books! I had a high school friend of hers fly in from Nebraska! I lost my voice talking to all her students. They loved her. A Mexican tradition is called day of the dead when you honour family who has passed. One of her students asked permission to add her to their list of honored.family. It is the greatest thing any one could have asked. I was taken aback.

  24. I was once taken to work in a bulldozer. Does that count? I worked as a waitress at a hotel restaurant near Crabtree Valley. Back then, Crabtree Creek used to flood the mall and everything around it on a regular basis. People staying at the hotel were watching their cars float away. They were mad and sad and frustrated. They needed food. The restaurant manager literally swam in, and my father drove me as far as he could, and then I was taken in the bucket of the bulldozer the rest of the way. Fortunately the front of the house wasn't flooded. All we could give them was sandwiches, but they were much appreciated.

  26. This morning I bought tickets for hubby and me to attend the Ruben and Clay concert in Milwaukee, which coincidentally is where he and I had our honeymoon when we were young and poor. Unfortunately we’re no longer young but thankfully we’re no longer poor, so I also bought a Meet and Greet for me. He wasn’t interested in that for himself, lol. I’m feeling very lucky that I’ll get to enjoy Clay in concert again in 2024. ❤️

  27. My show will be in January at the Macomb Center on the 13th. It is only 46 minutes away from me. Two days earlier is in Kalamazoo Miller theater. I saw a Christmas concert there but it is a good 3 hours away and in January that could be iffy. I am excited there is so many choices.

  28. I saw that article Friday night, and only got a chance to fully read it yesterday. Great article. I think Fred Bronson really likes them. He’s been interviewing them since the beginning! I am so far behind on pretty pictures and such, hopefully this week. The semester is finally over at school, so I may have a bit more time. From the rubenandclay Instagram story account. Hopefully more dates soon!

  29. Sorry I didnt get to post anything about our two concerts. Hopefully I won't lose this. I'm sitting on a sofa with our dog up against my thigh. A week ago Saturday, Playbiller and myself left around 4 in the afternoon to get to the 7pm concert in Cary at the Koka Booth Amphitheater. We got there about 6pm and sat in the third row right side. I was surprised at the number of young women and couples that were there. There were two opening acts before Clay and Ruben. One Jean Jolly had an amazing voice and I really enjoyed her segment. She brought her two young children on the stage just as they were setting up for Clay and Ruben. Since I hadn't watched any videos I was unaware of what to expect. Needless to say I was amazed at the power of their voices, their camaraderie and dancing. He played to his son and sang Moon River to him. Lovely. When their female singer sang "Physical" and Clay and Ruben did their dance, Ruben asked Clay how his knee was doing, Clay said not so well. I don't know if this was part of the act or he really injured it. Great show but went too fast for me. I'm greedy, I guess. Although we paid for parking in the closest lot, there was a massive traffic jam. So glad I bought the newer used car as driving was so much safer and comfortable. We got home in time for me to help my husband get his leg treatment before going to sleep. Next trip Charlotte.

  31. Hi everyone, it’s been a while Had some time to soak in going to Cary. I have to say that getting to see and hang out with friends is part as much as part of the experience for me as seeing Clay is. This was such a fun weekend! Soundcheck was a lot of fun! Im so glad it end up happening! Koka Both is such a pretty Venue! As my friend Terri and I were going to our seats we saw Tonya and some other folks associated with "National Inclusion Project"! I hate that I missed him didnt see him ,Nick was there. It felt like such a family reunion! My group was in the second row on the side. I tried to stay away from spoilers I knew a few songs hadnt watched any video. I thought it was a fun show with powerhouse voices! I really enjoyed the show! Clay sounded an amazing I thought Ruben sounded great too!! I love the boy band medley never thought I hear Clay sing NSYNC ha! Im so glad I tried not to see spoilers before hand. This was my only show. I loved every moment!

  35. 👋Hi to all, just checking in, it's been forever! I have finally got back to real life after 2 stellar concert experiences in Niagara Falls. It was great to see old friends again and to get the gang back together for a road trip. I am now living in hope that there will be a drivable data on the 2nd leg of the tour so I can see it again. That comparison BOTW montage from my friend & travel buddy cindilu2 is mind blowing!

  40. Well, my dinner was a disaster! Thankfully, it was just for my husband and I. Somehow, someway, I managed to put the turkey in the oven upside down, so the breast meat was down. So, the meat thermometer prob went off WAY too early. DH started breaking down the bird, and it was definitely still raw. Ugh. Problem solving skills in action: continued breaking down the turkey to the best of our ability, turned the oven way up, and put the breast meat back in. While it was baking again, we ate the rest of the meal (or so we thought, more on that in a moment). When the breast finally registered as done (again, meat thermometer), we ate it (and put the rest of the broken down bird into the oven to continue to cook). When we were cleaning up, I discovered that I totally forgot my spinach casserole in the microwave! Sigh. I blame the Washington Post article.

  45. Been out riding our bike with friends a few times this week. We went further north and it was hot, humid, and very hazy. We did only 37 miles on Wednesday(and I go very overheated and took awhile to cool down), did not ride on Thurs because it rained most of the day, and then rode 38 miles Friday. We had to be out of campground by 3pm so I am glad we did not to more. Today DH and I went out and rode 25 miles before it go hot. My friend surprised me on the 27th. My Gala buddy was going to buy my tickets for the concert at Macomb Center for January 13th when they went onsale on July 17. I was going to be away on a camping trip and also my concert buddy was going to be in Pennsylvania that day. Another friend was a member and called her to say she bought her ticket when she purchased hers. My friend than told her she was going to buy ours when she bought hers. So her friend called the center since she had already left and ordered ours. I was so grateful and surprised. Seats are great. I know the person who bought the tickets but I usually do not purchase with her. Clay fans are awesome.
