  1. Oh wow. That's fantastic. The more he changes, the more he stays the same. Even with eye-boinks. I hope you have a fantastic time! And thanks for the QVC info tied to the TV Guide thing. That definitely was NOT there this morning! Iseeme -- welcome!!!!!
  2. Hey Iseeme! Welcome! Love your screen name, I knew exactly where that came from. I was so very sorry to hear about Char, I can't imagine what simplyclay is going through at the moment. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time here.....welcome.
  3. liney -- good find! I don't think that's been posted anywhere else. I knew it -- in this interview, he specifically mentions the difference between "dancing" and "choreography." He now claims he can do choreography, but he's still not "dancing." Heh. I'm not surprised.
  4. Thanks luckiest! I know I've got to broadwayworld.com more than a few times today...*g* Thread title poll at the top of the page. Thanks 00lsee for helping me with this poll.
  5. Good Lord, if that guy is the "boy next door" -- I'd be visiting my neighbors an awful lot.
  6. It could be that TV Guide will be collecting all the webisodes into one place. They do a lot of that sorts of thing with their video section. annabear...um...your suggestion for a thread title sounds kinda familiar. Like maybe the one we have right now? Of course, we could offer it again... EEEEEEEEEEEE! for Scarlett, and I can't wait to hear from her.
  7. Broadwayworld.com has the webisode link up! It's also featured for now on their home page. Wouldn't hurt to give them a few hits....
  8. I believe the reason for "no fan fic" on this board is because the mods/admins at the time started at a board (CH) where fan fiction was strictly disallowed, and it was felt that there were plenty of other places to get a fanfic fix (say that three times fast!) if someone wanted it. We do have a creative writing thread (located here) for skits and such, however. If any of the other admins want to chime in on this....please do so!
  9. jmh, I'll be sending you all kinds of good luck tomorrow with my supra sekrit FCA mind meld powers! CG, just remember: "I'd rather try and fail, a thousand times denied.... At least whenever you feel pain, it lets you know you're alive..."
  10. Gibby, as far as I'm concerned....I hope you post often, 'cause I love your new avi. That smiling guy is soooooooo CUTE!
  11. footloose! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Glad to see you here! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  12. I do think there is still some emotion involved with AI and Clay for many of the fans. Now, I wasn't part of the online fandom during the show either, but I remember reading some posts later that were just OTT passionate/outraged. When I compare THAT to what I've seen today....IMO, there's such a difference. Now, I still do believe there is some bitterness -- and I think that some fans hold on to it as if it is a security blanket. But not ALL of them have done that. I think the passage of time has eased the pain a bit for more than a few. One more thing....the easiest way I've found to come to terms with Clay and AI is to realize that if any of those possibilites for conspiracy/manipulation, etc had NOT happened....I know my fandom would probably be WAY different. Very likely Clay would have won -- and who knows where this would have taken him. It could have been better, but it could have also been way worse. (See: Taylor Hicks)
  13. Three more.... Whoops...couchie just pointed out to me that these three are already in the thread.....my bad.
  14. My feelings on KLo are mostly ones of sadness. I feel incredibly sad that her career didn't turn out like she envisioned (I'm still confused as how she managed to get a few hit songs on the radio and still couldn't sell more albums), and I feel sad that she's made some (IMO) desperate choices to hold on to her fame -- such as announcing the tour, and her appearance on Pig's show (although, thankfully, she didn't provide any "dirt," if Clay even had any dirt in the first place). IMO she's turning into a reality show star, and that feels desperate to me. From watching these interviews on AI Rewind with her, I'm also sensing a lot of bitterness. At the time, I think that would have been justified, but -- after a while, shouldn't people just let the f*** go? Of course, I'm also feeling that way with some of what I've read throughout my 5 years in this fandom. It seems that some people still want to hold on to bitterness toward anyone who may have "hurt" Clay -- be it AI, KLo, Ripa, gossip reporters, etc. I personally find this bitterness woefully unattractive, and it truly does make me feel bad when I see it come out (such as the KLo tour blog entries). IMO, life's too short to hold onto grudges. I also believe (don't know it for a fact) that Clay feels the same way -- at least in public. While I do believe a few Coke machines have been beaten up over the years, he seems to be quite good at "letting go and letting God." May we all learn from the master. *g* Love the webisode....and I see what you are saying muski. That Clay/Clayton mix is surely fascinating to me.
  15. bottlcap -- glad to hear from you, and I can't wait for your full report. I also just noticed your siggy -- I love it. Topic du jour.... Vincent: I wasn't an online fan then, so I knew nothing about missing/added lines, the possibility of only 2 or 3 songs in the bowl, etc. It's not my favorite performance of his, even though he sang it beautifully. I think there are two things I like best about that: 1) as muski said, "what a pro!" I thought he handled it very gracefully, even with the mess-up. 2) Today, he still seems to me that he's not bitter about it all, and I find that refreshing. Mack the Knife: I must love "lounge singer" then, because I thought he nailed the song perfectly. I loved the look too. In retrospect, I kinda now see this performance as "Grease, part 2" -- fantastic vocals, served with a wink and a nod and a laugh. I still love it. UM: Love ya Clay, but this song will always be a Righteous Brothers song for me. I loved him hitting the high note, and thought this was thrilling. IMO, he's really refined his performance of this over the years. ITA with aikim that the Foster gala was probably his best performance. Off to bell choir at church.
  16. I don't want to appear like I'm picking on you two ladies -- but what exactly is "too old" to wear a Clay tshirt? Or too old to "act like a teen?" I know as a 45-year-old woman, I'm supposed to be this "mature lady who acts like a mature lady in public." I do that enough when I'm at work for 40 hours a week. Sometimes, though, I say "hogwash" to that notion. IMO -- have FUN with it, and if it lets you act like a teen for a while, I personally see nothing wrong with that. Maybe it's just that I was raised with the fangirl gene though -- I wore out all my Huey Lewis, Don Henley and Star Trek tshirts a LONG time ago. Wore them every chance I could.
  17. I just tried it from my bookmark, and their site seems to be down at the moment. Bad timing, for I think all their admins are in NYC...*g* Anyway, it's not a private site, not that I know of. I mean, they let me join. *g* ETA: they seem to be back up now. CG, I understand ya....and yet, I love wearing my Clay t-shirts out, and have been known to involuntarily say "hey, there's Jerome" or "ooooo, pretty marquee with Clay's picture" loud enough for others to notice. (Note the word "involuntarily" there. Heh...) There are times when I feel the fandom is embarrassed at being a Clay fan. I think part of that is because of the OTT of some fans, sure. But I also get the feeling that some don't want to be identified with someone (Clay) who is considered "not cool" by much of the general public. I'm one who is proud of my fandom. I don't PUSH my fandom to every single person I meet, to be sure. When I wear my Clay shirts, I'm not saying to people, "isn't the guy on my t-shirt great?", but if someone notices and starts a conversation with me about it, I don't have a problem... But, at the same time, I like being able to show the world that I'm a Clay fan. *shrug*
  18. WooHoo for ausdon meeting up with cha cha trusty! I love this "I can travel anywhere and find a friend" kind of thing. I just heard from laughn -- she's having trouble remembering her password to get into FCA (LOL), so she told me I could bring her SD recap over from getclayaiken:
  19. about.com Clay Aiken: On My Way Here
  20. CONGRATULATIONS aikim on the 200 game! I kinda miss bowling on a league...but that would seriously cut into Clay time. *g* LOL! But how loudly did you yell? Did Jerome notice? Do you think you're on the list now? *g* It is an amazing feeling, isn't it? I surely wish every Clay fan could experience that! I'm so glad you're having the time of your life bottlecap! Say "hi" to everyone from me and all of us here at FCA. Hubby has a business trip in Chicago today; the damn alarm went off at 4:00 a.m.! Fortunately, I went back to sleep for a few hours, and now I'm in bed with the laptop. However, I will probably get some work done -- it's always easier to try to thoroughly clean some rooms of the house without hubby around (such as my office). I'll check in from time to time though....
  21. cha cha, check out this site for more information on the MusicPass. Who knows what kind of stuff we'll be able to get from them, but it sounds like we'll get some kind of extra with the purchase of one. I'm happy that I can buy one at Best Buy! CG, I'm sooooooooo happy you're getting to see Clay. I'd invite him over to dinner, if I were you. Maybe you could text him? *g* I am perfectly sane, thankyouverymuch [/delusional]. :F_05BL17blowkiss: YSRN! Have a Spamalicious time tonight with Clay (and laughn and bottlecap and all the rest of your friends)! I'm OK with that review. One person's cliche is another's inspiration. *shrug* And he acknowledges the voice!
  22. Dear ATrueFanOfUptempoYetDownBeatSingerBoyfriends YouCan'tProveIt'sMeAnonymous. BEWARE of alternate keystrokes! It could mean that your hawt singer boyfriend is trying to let you know that he's trapped in a woeful record contract. Or it could simply mean that he wants a slurpee. Either way, BEWARE! Sincerely, InsanityRules Ann
  23. Dear TheOneTrue&OnlyFutureMrs.AikenBecauseI'mTraditionalThatWayAndCanAnyoneTellMeIfNorthCarolinaIsACommunityPropertyStat Still Anonymous, The only thing I would suggest is that you have your musician boyfriend wear a condom when he's texting you. You might get pregnant otherwise. HeardItAllInManyDifferentFandomsButThatTookTheCake Ann
  24. The podcast is finally up, and it is as I suspected. Just imagine some nice lady reading the press release aloud, and you've got the gist of it. When the album will be released. The name of the first radio single. How Clay came up with the theme of the album. Blah blah blah. But it's still cool that it got picked up that way. I think that is a way for entertainment journalists to get their information without having to read press releases. I'm still loving the musical tie picture. His look in that one is lethal, and I'll be verra verra happy to have that on my MusicPass.
