  1. Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadians :3: (Pretend it's a turkey) I love me some pumpkin pie but a nice sweet potato pie will do.
  2. Belated Happy Birthday keepingfaith :2164: Happy birthday today liney :fest30: Sorry your happy day didn't work out merriee! Mine stayed good all day and today ain't so bad either. We are making great progress on our kitchen remodel and Mr. Fear and I are actually agreeing on colors, wood finish and countertops. Pretty scarey to me. But the absolute best thing yesterday was having the privilege of tutoring a preschooler and having a blast. Should continue for the schoolyear. I'm already working on alternate days for my Clay trips. I really enjoyed zena's post. Clay is beautiful through and through. His interest in helping others has kept me a fan for all these years; in addition to his most amazing voice. He sounded so excited in the videos for UNICEF. I just don't understand how those gossip sites can bash someone when he is giving his time to charity.
  3. I have a big problem if Clay ever decides to act or sing on Broadway-- I live too far away to go every week. I would hope he would be more considerate to me and open up a theater in Raleigh. Harumph! It's about time I think of myself! Maybe I should email his mom. Someone has to let her know how important I am. All this while I have been missing out on the angst. I thought I was just an observer in his life, but I could be so much more. Clay taught me a lot at his summer concerts. He taught me to be cool and the importance of being cool above anything else. (Saunters away to be cool this morning and let everyone at the OFC know about it.) Sorry for the sarcasm, I'm just so happy today. Off to have a great, great day. I love my life.
  4. He has a fantastic smile. Looking at a lot of the other pictures, red carpet photography is generally not very flattering. I prefer these pictures over the AMA pictures. Didn't he say in a meet and greet that he was going for the "Al is Well" look for the next tour. Thus the long bangs. It makes me happy that he doesn't fuss over his appearance. I think he is just Clay, UNICEF ambassador.
  5. This is pretty sad that it took me so long to listen to BEAT IT. Can I blame the fact that its just before OPPOSITES ATTRACT? I swear I can not just listen. Anyway Clay was pretty consistent on this song. So I used the video with the best sound as well as the best orchestral sounds. #1 Tulsa Laura Q. This had the best mix of Clay's voice and the orchestra. #2 Frisco Solo and Scarlett. Good sound and growly Clay. #3 Asheville ClayIzzaQT Very clear sound. #4 Pala spotlightlover.
  6. I just forwarded a copy of the Clay Nation News to two friends who have gone to Clay concerts with me. Of course they went to humor me but they do like Clay. Hopefully they will tune in and watch him, that might make three people from my town watching. I can't believe that we get it four times here during the week. Twice its on FOX. Unfortunately I don't watch FOX, but I guess I could tape it. The picture is a little clearer. I'm gonna try to finish up my one song tommorrow. Unfortunately I downloaded all the classics in video form so I'm getting distracted and watching all of them. At least I'm up to Knoxville.
  7. You only have to plug it in if you don't have a wireless card. We have a PC desktop plugged in and a wireless MAC desktop as well as a wireless PC laptop and a wireless MAC laptop which are not plugged in. There is a code that you may have to use to set up the wireless computers. This is chosen when setting up the router software. Almost everyone I know has run into the problem with the code. Good luck!
  8. Scarlett, I absolutely agree. And I think the vast majority of Clay fans agree. But as was seen in the great ATDW arguement, there are a lot of people who will twist arms to get others to agree with them to the point that it is painful for all. Heres to the future where we all end up whether we want it or not. :laola0:
  9. I guess I just have a little more faith in people that I have met. Even if someone was pulling her chain, it really doesn't hurt anyone to believe it. Sorry this fandom has made you cynical. Even I have about five people on my ignore list at the OFC. But generally I think most of what I read is harmless. Hope this doesn't sound critical claygasm, I'm just trying to express my point of view and 99.9% of the time it doesn't come out right. That's why I usually lurk. :chair:
  10. Check out Jocko. he had the best dance show and the best guests. While Dick Clark had Frankie Avalon, Jocko had Jackie Wilson, who could really sing. I have always preferred music from singers who can really sing. Never went to any reunion- college or high school. I guess I was a lurker in school just like I am on the boards. I had a lot of popular and unpopular friends, some nerds some not, but I preferred being alone most of the time. So of course it figures that I would marry the most talkative man in the universe, who I have to beg to not talk to me until after 10am. At least my kids were late sleepers. :nana: The board looks great and I don't think I am having any problems. Well at least board problems. I would believe what Careless Whisper says. She's a long time Clay fan and member of the CH and like playbiller said lives in or near Raleigh. She was quite nice to me when I was a newbie.
  11. In this picture from People mag that gibby posted. I can't seem to paste it here. Anyway the second one. How can Clay have the teeth he has now? Those were not his teeth last year. I wonder if they photoshopped them and he liked the look. No matter it's a great picture. FromClaygary great looking quilts.
  12. Happy Birthday manderly! :2164: :fest09: Congratulations Caro! Adorable grandbaby. Thank you Scarlett! I love to make cds of seperate concerts. I am still listening to the JNT06 concert where he talks about the bus breaking down. It cracks me up every time.
  13. Do you mean Best Buy online or the physical store? When I went to the Best Buy website it shows the release date as 8/28/07. I'm getting confuseder and confuseder. Best Buy This would be so exciting if it is something new, but I just can't imagine having a new product come out with no promotion or marketing at all. Hmmmm.....I'm trying to figure out if I can sneak in a trip to Best Buy before I have to go work at the town festival this afternoon? We don't have a Best Buy in our town (small town), but there's one about 15 miles from here. I'm pretty sure it was best buy online. I miss macoon apples that it seems you can only get in Jersey. My husband and I are big fans of John Prine but we have never gone to see him although he was in Raleigh this summer. We have most of his cds. My youngest son introduced his music to us many years ago. He doesn't have the best voice but he is a great story teller with his music. Happy birthday aikim and Lucia. :fest33:
  14. I'm so happy for you couchie. Looking forward to two more years of FCA. Playbiller, I saw you in chat trying to tempt me to get out the candy corn. But I am so much stronger than that. I don't know if anyone brought over the post on CV that the supposed 2007 Christmas dvd as shown on Amazon is now at Best Buy. It was mumm fums that posted it. It'll be interesting to see what turns up. I learned after AIW that I had better not wait to order anything.
  15. Thanks ldyjocelyn and all of you here. It was very interesting.
  16. I think Clay's voice has matured in that he no longer has to show us what he can do with it but he actually uses it to impart the emotion in the words. He can still hold notes longer than most singers and hit those high notes but most people who saw him on AI know that. Now he is an adult and has probably experienced more various emotions and that is what most people have not seen. ALso he has succesfully sung genres which he might not have tried before. That idol site that has put Clay up against various AI singers has TLS up there now. Wow I had forgotten about that performance. His voice is the best, at least to me.
  17. IMO Clay appears to be happiest being an entertainer. To be a pop star I think you have to be willing to compromise and be someone other than ones self. Clay appears to be embarrassed being the idol of his fans eyes and acting sexy. He just seems so normal while being extremely charismatic. So it seems he might be most comfortable being funny. That's what is so much fun for me when he goes from singing a tender love song with feeling to goofing around ala Jerry Lewis.
  18. So you think this is someone I would want to meet? Ick!! I'm sure Clay has gotten some pretty high level and experienced advice as how to deal with this stuff. That is why I don't understand why some fans think they know better than Clay how to handle things.
  19. Not much anyone can do. If George Bush can ignore the headlines about him and not push for any changes in the law , what can a celebrity do? It must really sting for Clay to think that there are people who actually believe this crud. I have never seen one single person buy one of these things while at the grocery store. Do people really subscribe to them? How on earth do they stay in business? I did a search to see who owned these magazines. Most are owned by the same owner/ owners. They are privately owned.
  20. I don't mind the shipping but when the tearing to pieces of the poor girl begins, I have a really hard time getting my eyes to stop rolling.
  21. I think I started as a protective fan. What could I do to help Clay stick around. Now I am a pretty relaxed fan watching how Clay handles his own career. I am now an onlooker. I don't really care how Clay wears his hair or how he dresses as long as he takes care of his voice and continues to sing. Now the only thing that bothers me is how some fans treat others. I don't think I am an addict but who knows? Does any addict know that they ar addicted? I don't think of this as a hobby, its just another facet of who I am. I forgot the other question. Oh the blow torched puppy. If it hasn't happened by now I really doubt it ever will.
  22. Hey Toots, just saw your note about a stolen Visa card. Scroll if you wish. My Amex card was stolen from Amex's data base. The only way I found out about it was the charge to my account from ebooks for $8.99. Of course I never heard of ebooks. After looking on the internet I found several sites discussing how the numbers were stolen and were presumed to be in Russia or whatever its called nowadays. They refunded my money and I cancelled the card. A few weeks ago we got a call from our bank that our Visa card had a lot of charges pending that were made overnight. They were from places were you could download music, games or software. None were ours. We hadn't lost the cards so we thought it might be from an online purchase my husband had made that week for a new headset. Surprisingly he wasn't charged for it. He called them up and they were shocked that he might insinuate that they had something to do with it as the owners were the only employees. Fortunately the bank never approved the pending charges and we got a new card. Another Visa card was cancelled by a bank that said I had made a purchase at TJ MAxx and that the store's records were violated. The bank sent me a new card but I never saw anything out of line on it. I shred every single piece of paper with my name on it before recycling as well as all credit card receipts. This was after someone took a bag of paper from in front of my house that I had put out that morning to recycle. I've been burned too many times. Happy happy birthday ldyjocelyn. :fest30:
  23. Mandler, thanks for that picture. They are both absolutely adorable. I'm sorry if my post upset anyone. Name calling is just a big turnoff to me. I don't dislike the poster, I dislike the word. Not knowing what kind of day someone had or if something upsetting happened in their real lives, I hate to criticize. I just feel that I can't let certain things remained unanswered since it may be interpreted that I agree with it. And to be quite honest there are certain people who call me that I never return their calls or emails. For example, after my mother died, my brother's wife had me on speed dial to ask for money. That's when I got caller ID. I'm sure she thought I was a jerk. Hope everyone has a great Friday. It's finally raining here (after about a month of dryness) and I am happy to not have to water anymore bonsai plants or flowers.
  24. I agree that we don't know what happened and extrapolating is like writing fiction to me at least. I have been married for 40 years and have never called my husband a jerk (not that he didn't deserve to be called one on occasion). Just always hated name calling unless, as in the case of PH, it is well deserved. Just ask playbiller, I didn't speak to her for two weeks after she said Clay was a slob. I think Kim is one strong woman so I can definitely see her speaking of things as she sees them. Maybe it just wasn't as important to Clay. Not my problem, let their managers work it out.
