  1. Hopefully on the weekend I'll be able to catch up on all these articles and videos! Life seems to be in warp speed right now between Clay, Olympics, and my kids. I'm glad it seems as though people are opening their eyes to the fact that this is one serious, intelligent candidate!
  2. Yeah I figured it must be an IP issue for the Facebook page. I'll have a peek at it tonight when I get home with my Tunnelbear app.
  3. Is it just me...is the Facebook page working for anyone else? Cool that there will most likely be clack by end of day from all these interviews I'm seeing reference to.
  4. If anyone wants to bring links to articles over, it would be appreciated. I just won't be able to keep up otherwise. My favourite part of his video was "I’m not a politician, I don’t ever want to be one.". ETA: Ok, I'm bringing this one over because I didn't know this.
  5. Hell has frozen over....Clay Aiken made the local news here in London, ON, Canada. I was driving to work and all of a sudden they started talking about him, about his announcement.....I think "Washington is dysfunctional" has kind of got people talking. I hadn't even seen the email yet, but I just read it and watched the video. The facebook link isn't working for me, though.
  6. Oh no, Fear, you'd better get it checked out to be sure you didn't do anything. Hope you are feeling better soon.
  7. And that, in a nutshell, is why I turned off my mobile notifications for Clay's tweets! LOL Not I disagree with him, just that I don't need my phone going crazy over political stuff.
  8. I don't think I can pick a favourite memory, there are just too many. Each one is unique and special in it's own right and other than that last gala, I regret none of them. Clay brought my daughter and I closer together, at a pretty crucial time in both our lives. For that I'll forever be grateful, and of course for the many wonderful friendships I developed too. Ldyj, that was definitely a cool moment in Chicago, and you guys were sitting right beside us! It almost felt like he was talking to us.
  9. Some "young folks" I work with have no idea who the Beatles are.
  10. I didn't miss a tour, but otherwise I agree with this 100%. I'm not mad at him, I don't take it personally, I don't think he owes me anything, but do I like how it ended? Not really, no. I also kind of wish I hadn't attended gala, because that is not the event I want to remember as my last. So I choose to remember Joseph instead, because that was a high note to go out on! I can't even begin to describe how glad I am I went to Maine, and also how glad I am that I went to NC for Drowsy Chaperone. I think I kind of started backing up a bit a couple of years ago, sensing that the Clay stuff was going to get sparser, so I developed other interests...some old, some new. I never really envisioned it ending completely though. This now makes two of my obsessions (yes, I freely use that word) that have chosen to change career paths. Just goes to show that you should never put all your eggs in one basket, I guess.
  11. No Fear, I don't think NBC would ever show the Canadian Nationals. However you can watch the programs online. Let me know if you want me to give you some youtube links. We got another 4-5 inches over night and the wind is whipping it around again today. Windchill is -22C. My son made the mistake of coming in at 5:30 a.m., just as I was getting up for work. Guess what he got sent back out to do before he went to bed? LOL But as a result, I made it into work today without getting stuck!
  12. No skating on NBC this weekend, Fear. Next weekend they are showing the Four Continents championship belatedly. And then we will be into Olympics the following weekend! The team event starts on Feb. 6th. I'm having a lazy weekend, catching up on PVRed shows.
  13. Geez, I was just joking. I went to the grocery store yesterday, after the plows cleared the roads and my son shovelled the driveway, but decided that the roads were still too bad to attempt the highway. So I cancelled my plans last night.
  14. Wussies. We are in the midst of a blizzard, and I'm still considering driving an hour east this evening to attend a skating send off party for a pair of Olympians. The snow is supposed to taper off, but I'm a bit concerned about the blowing snow warnings. Of course, I'll need to dig my car out of the driveway first...........
  15. Safe travels ldyj. You have to love it when the word "blizzard" is in the forecast. That's what they are predicting here for tonight. Ugh.
  16. My tweet is included in this link that WRAL posted, hee! Twitter reacts to Clay Aiken's possible political future (via @RecordsGeek): http://t.co/onxNVPNEW2
  17. Today's high is -20C with the windchill. I'd like some whine with my cheese please. I'm trying to find the motivation to go back to Aqua Zumba after 2 weeks' absence, but it's missing. I just want to stay under the covers. My iPod is choosing to play me a lot of Clay lately. I wonder what's going on with him.
  18. Cute pictures. We are in for another cold snap starting tomorrow, with windchills around -30C. Ugh will this winter ever end?
  19. Does someone want to explain what's going on? I have no idea what any of you are talking about right now. Sorry, I choose to be out of the loop at this point.
  20. Back from the rink, so just checking in but it seems as though nothing is going on. I hate coming back to real life after 6 days away, and having to think about mundane things like bills and finding a plumber to come and fix my dishwasher.
  21. Checking in from Ottawa. Enjoying the skating with my mom. Nice pic, but I don't understand the tweet. Still not interested in politics. LOL. Love Clay Aiken though. Hope he's doing well and am excited for him.
  22. Our windchill right now is -40C (which is the same as -40F by the way). This is insane!
