Hear ye! Hear ye! A celebration of Clay Aiken, his voice, and his new album will commence for two consecutive Fridays! Come one and all and listen to "A Thousand Different Ways" with your friends!

The dates: Friday, October 20; and Friday, October 27

The times: 9:00 – 11:00 p.m. Eastern

8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Central

7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Mountain

6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Pacific

The details: Beginning at the time listed above, load the first song from ATDW, "Right Here Waiting" into your favorite media player. Put it on repeat and listen to the song for 15 minutes. While listening, post your comments about the song, Clay's voice, what the song does for you, anything related to the music, in this thread. After the 15 minutes are up, go to the next song on ATDW. I will provide a 5 minute warning before the next song should be started. Since there are 14 songs on ATDW plus 2 bonus tracks, this works out to 8 songs per evening, taking 2 hours each Friday.

The schedule for this Friday, October 20, using the Eastern times as a guide:

9:00 – Right Here Waiting

9:15 – Lonely No More

9:30 – Without You

9:45 – Every Time You Go Away

Heheh, I just meant it isn't on the poll... So count one vote for me!

Old Miss Space Case here...didn't even notice it was missing. I guess I need another beer.

Actually, blame Ansa, it's all her fault. :P

The beginning instrumentation of this song REALLY surprised me...it wasn't what I was expecting at ALL. Of course that was my comparison to the original, which isn't fair.

Clay's vocals...clear. Love the harmonies during the chorus.

I love how he sings "I taste the tears...."

I listened to the original a few weeks ago. Marx's version is much more piano based...Clay's rocks much more.

That instrument at the beginning of the song -- is that a guitar riff?

And how many of us are bouncing in our computer chairs right now with the beat? *g*

Heee...I like the guita solo followed by the cello or whatever string instrument that is.

This is not one of my favorite songs....I guess I do find it a bit plodding...but after a few listens the instrumentations and his vocals...the overall production really sold me...

I love this one, but I feel obliged to throw a whole LOTTA love its way for the vacationing luckiest1. This is her favorite song on the CD.

I love breathy Clay so this song is music to my ears. Heh. The very last 'right here waiting' is just wonderful. Clay's phrasing is so unique - it's what makes him, well, Clay.

Let the games begin, Georgia is in Da House. Not real crazy about the first song. I not particularly crazy about the falsetto voice, but it is lisenable. LOL.

heee...Actually its not really falsetto I think but I think of it as his boyband voice.

hey hi to the party girls couchie and muski!!!!!

I actually think that one "yuuuuuuuu" he sings is...awkward. But I still love the almost everything about this song. I think it's a good start for the album.

I'm holding my head in shame, for I didn't know luckiest1's favorite off the album was RHW. 20 lashes with a wet noodle!

Don't like this song.

His voice sounds all nasally.

Its a very plodding arrangement.

I get no "feeling" from him on it.

I don't think I have listened to it since I flew to CA to see Muski and Kimmel.

I just find it a very boring arrangement and his voice is less than stellar.

Combine that with not liking the original and that's why its my least favorite song on the album.
