Good morning all. It's a beautiful, sunny day here. I took the puppy in to be spayed this morning, so please send good thoughts. I'm sure it will be fine but I am nervous about it.

I am seriously considering taking a trip to NYC for the Rosie benefit in a few weeks. It just so happens to fall on luckiestdaughter's birthday, and she just so happens to love Rosie and Clay. :)

I don't think this interview got quoted yesterday. FromClaygary linked it and I thought I hit the quote button just now, but evidently not. Sorry. Anyway, I love this.

Brandon's Buzz (a music blog):

A massive new wave of Sony Legacy’s brilliant Playlist retrospective series rolls out this week, and while some of the setlists included therein are less than impressive — discs from Michael Bolton (which tends to favor the artist’s hideously subpar later output — “Go the Distance”? “Only a Woman Like You”? That ridiculous, unnecessary cover of “Sexual Healing”? — over his more striking early material) and Gloria Estefan (who owns way too vast a trove of inspired material to choose from — “Here We Are,” or “Coming Out of the Dark,” or “I’m Not Giving You Up,” or even a blast of pure fun like “1-2-3″ — to end up with a disc this flat and uninvolving) — three in particular grabbed my attention and made me take notice. The first of them, a celebration of The Very Best of Toto, reveals nothing particularly new or noteworthy about one of the signature bands of the ’80s, but that doesn’t really matter much: seeing all the highlights of their discography — “Africa,” “Rosanna,” “I Won’t Hold You Back,” as if you can’t name them by rote! — on one shiny disc is still quite a sight. The second might be a tad confounding; seeing as he only has two studio albums and one set of baffling covers to his name, it might seem a scotch too soon to run across The Very Best of Clay Aiken at your local record store, but there you have it, and it’s a better than average reminder of his raw talent as a vocalist. (”Invisible” is included, praise Jesus, as well as his funky (and strangely haunting) reworking of Dolly Parton’s “Here You Come Again,” but, sadly, not his ferocious remake of Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is,” done as a duet with Rock Star: INXS contestant Suzie McNeil.) And last, but most definitely not least, comes the fourteen-carat gem of the bunch, The Very Best of Cyndi Lauper, which, for as much of a seemingly random grab bag of her music as it ultimately becomes, represents a stunningly strong cross-section of her incredible career. (There’s a fairly simple explanation for that: Lauper has been lucky to have recorded all but one of her albums for the same record company, which gives whomever is in charge of compiling a retrospective like this an infinitely broader palette from which to pick and choose.) And from her 1984 breakthrough smash “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” right up through her brilliant 2008 dancefloor jam “Into the Nightlife,” the entirety of Lauper’s catalog is well-represented here, and for a breathtaking budget price. You’d be an utter fool not to seek this out.

So he picked Clay's Playlist of his three to praise, out of quite a long list of others released at the same time. Someone at CH pointed out the irony of him calling ATDW a "set of baffling covers" and yet singling out two songs from that album in his review. I'll forgive that, since he loves this album, and he's obviously heard ADTW since he mentioned IWTKWLI.

{{{{{Piper and momma}}}}} - I remember how nerve wracking it was when we got our furbaby spayed.

My girls would be thrilled to go back to NYC for their bdays and I bet your daughter would be ecstatic! If you can work it out, go for it! This message was brought to you by Enablers'R'Us. :)

I am repeating this request even if it is to get the reply that none of you found it anywhere in Houston.

Please

.... eHP...can you tell me where in Houston you found BOCA? I am hoping that my daughter who is coming to visit soon will be able to bring one with her.

Seems that Amazon.ca has none and, given past performance, isn't likely to get any in.

I read Brandon's Buzz and I appreciated jean's defense of Clay against someone who referred to him as AI 'reject'.

Today two people became Clay fans! I was listening to Clay's pre-AI demo song when my sister came for an overnight visit. I had to introduce Clay and we watch selected videos. She really loved what she saw and heard. Then I went out to spend the rest of the day with my friend who just arrived from California. She likes one contestant now. She didn't know much about Clay Aiken because wasn't into AI then. When I told her I'm his fan and mentioned everything I could about Clay including his charitable efforts, she warmed up to this guy as worthy of love and support. For my sake, she'll be looking forward to Clay activities in her state.

Ahh, Clay really puts a happy face on me and completes my day!

I think it's supposed to be at Target - will take a look after work.

PerusingOne has corrupted me, and I will be flying semi-randomly sort of around three-quarters of the world since I don't think there will be a tour this summer.

Shanghai and Frankfurt from 5/1 through 5/7 - 2 days in each! It makes lots of sense, really!

Someone needs to hold a weapon to my head to get me to finish recaps...

I can check the stores -- but I got my 3 via mail so don't have specific information. I'm going monitor shopping tonight so I'll look. If I find them, can I purchase some for you?

KAndre... Shanghi and Frankfurt sound totally normal to me....... for you! :cryingwlaughter: You'll have to forgive us, but your recaps are just so much dang fun to read that we always want more. You should create a side career as a travel writer.

Two articles in the last two days about David Foster saying good things about Jaymes/Clay/Parker/Partner. Kewl to the max!!!

luckiest... I'm glad Piper is ok and super-glad you are going to NYC and Raleigh! Jealous, but glad! :cryingwlaughter:

Wheeeeeee I love my boss. My vacation is approved and I'm going to NYC in a few weeks, and Raleigh in October. :)

And my puppy is awake and waiting for me to pick her up. YAY!

Cool!! dying for one of your great recaps! ....and you're SO lucky Piper isn't a kitty....you would SO be dead meat right now! :hahaha: Piper will, on the other hand, probably be thrilled to see you!

I'm excited too! I sold a few pieces of my jewelry, which has resulted in a $175 donation to BAF :dancingpickle::dancingpickle:

Geez, I leave for the day, and all kinds of stuff gets posted on other boards and no one brings them over! Thanks aikim for bringing over that DF piece. I've read that this piece is spreading all over the news sources on the net.

Anyway...the easiest way for me to do this is to just copy laughn's post from getclayaiken:

Wow...this is too good. There's a promo clip of ANTM, here at the CWTV Website (I would imagine someone will rip it, but I don't know how)

It's going to be a special two hour episode, and the way they have it clipped, it looks like one of the models is yelling at Clay... :lol

...and a mention from notacanuck at the CH. From Michael Ausiello at EW. (I went online to see if I could find where the quote came from, but came up empty. Perhaps it's in the hard copy. :shrug) I think I'll be peeing my pants.

A tidbit about the Season Finale of 30 Rock, from Michael Ausiello at EW:

Question: Got anything on 30 Rock's season finale? --Martin

Ausiello: Picture a "We Are the World"-esque charity single. Then picture one of the celeb participants being Jenna. Now picture yourself laughing until your spleen ruptures..

...and from Newsday, a slide show. The first pic is new. There are some others from GLAAD, but they have already been posted. Then the pics jump right back to the NAT and AI. I didn't see any 'play' shots, but maybe I didn't look back far enough.

Clay Aiken at work and play

Singer Clay Aiken attends the 20th Annual GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) Media Awards on Saturday, March 28, 2009 in New York.

ETA: One more thing...a quick clip of Tyra and Clay on the Red Carpet via YouTube.

who is Jenna?

thanks LdyJ and everyone who brings the news. This is the only place I get my Clay news....

Jenna is the character that Jane Krakowski plays on 30 Rock.
