New cute Clay mention via the Chicago Tribune....

Aiken, Levert, Songz: Keep your heart in check, or at least medically sound

By Regina Robinson | Tribune staff reporter

November 23, 2007

Talented in their respective arenas, three singers, Clay Aiken, Eddie Levert (of the O'Jays) and Trey Songz, in town this week—on separate bills—could be dangerous to the health of their fans. This trio of musical heartthrobs makes female palms sweat, knees weaken and hearts pulsate. And about that heart thing ...

"That would be Takotsubo cardiomyopathy," said Savitri Fedson, M.D., specialist in heart failure and transplant at the University of Chicago. "People with extreme amounts of either emotional or physical stress have heart dysfunction, which then recovers," she said. "Typically you'll feel just an extra-forceful heartbeat or you'll feel palpitations."

Calm down (if you can), and you can scream for Clay, yell 'sing it Eddie!' or gaze longingly at Trey, as if he's singing "Can't Help But Wait" directly to you, without fear of keeling over.

"Obviously if someone has [the] sort of severe chest pain associated with this they need to go to a hospital," Fedson said. "If it's just the palpitations, I don't know, how do you get your heart to stop beating fast when you see the person you love? That's probably a good thing."

Clay Aiken

Rendezvous: 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Genesee Theatre, 203 N. Genesee St., Waukegan; $68-$83; 312-559-1212, ticketmaster.com

Pulse: You know you are the stuff when a whole nation lends its support before you even have a hit. Aiken, the co-"American Idol" winner with Ruben Studdard, has a consortium of young and old voting him to stardom.

Nothing Clay has ever said, done, sung, , or worn has EVER disappointed me.

You said it, Sister!

Happy Wednesday, all!

Thanks for the b'day wishes!

I went in the kitchen this am. DH was still sleeping.

I found my very own New England Pats T-shirt waiting for me!

Yipeeeee! I'm getting a freezer!

KAndre carefully writes down "Takotsubo cardiomyopathy" as a new absence excuse for the office...

I like working the day before Thanksgiving! It adds weight to the "oh, so sorry...can't cook anything for Thanksgiving! I'll just come to your house and eat. I'll bring the dinner rolls in the paper box!"

BTW, anybody have a good recipe for Apple Brown Betty? I have no idea why my child has decided he wants that for dessert for the one meal I will cook him while he's home - he claims I made it once before but he is clearly psychotic...

Get 5 or 6 apples pies from McDonalds, chop them up, throw them in a casserole dish, sprinkle them with some brown sugar, and nuke 'em. Or if you're feeling really domestic, put 'em under a broiler.

Happy birthday, Cotton.

I thought someone said that Ruben and Clay were co-winners during the finale. I really don't feel like watching it right now.

When is the sun coming out again?

I found a cute Ruben interview here. There is an audio interview on the side and Ruben keeps talking about how much he enjoyed seeing everyone again during the rewind filming and that he and Clay and Kim are the bestest friends ever (over and over and over). I thought it was cute. He also talks about the plays he is and will be appearing int. I saw Ain't misbehaving on Briadway when it came out and I am sure he will have a ball with that role, although he talks about touring, you just open your mouth and sing, on the tour he will have to work with a vocal coach to be able to sing. I am sure some people will be interested hearing that.

KAndre carefully looks at all 87 of ldyj's Apple Brown Betty recipes, notes that they all seems to involve lots of something called "cookin" and heavily underscores bottle's perfectly lovely recipe for Apple Brown Betty...

I liked the apple pie recipe to apple brown betty recipe...pretty damn funny! :cry4:

Merrrieeee and Scarlett thank you for the little ditties about Thanksgiving. I'm hoping someone more talented than I (almost anyone) can bring those over to the new thread. Can't you see the evolution of those ditties if everyone threw their comments in? We'd have fun fun fun!

Play, do you need one of those light machines to make you feel better? Remember you are going to be Clay's neighbor and that's all heat and light.

I'd like to complain about how cold it is here but it would just be fodder for all of you who really live in the cold climates, but it's really cold this morning.

Does anyone keep track of the time it takes us to blow thru a thread? The last one must have been a record.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COTTON :04:

*JJ has no idea what an Apple Brown Betty is, let alone has a recipe for it*

Woke up to snow this morning...just a skiff but the cats are NOT enjoying it. Jazz stepped out the patio door and slid across the sidewalk. Of course, it didn't help that I was :cryingwlaughter: watching him.

Having today off before Thanksgiving is only one of the reasons I love my job....the others are the 12 days at Christmas, the 4 days at Easter and the 2 1/2 months in the summer! :whistling-1:

I love me some Clay Aiken today. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Hello everyone.

I think I'll give Bottlecaps' delicious recipe a try. Sound easy enough that even I can cook it :cryingwlaughter:

Happy Birthday, Cotton. :lilredani: :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Clay is a Co-winner? Hmmm I believe he won AI2. They are doing a rewind to show once and for all who the real winner is. I am waiting breathlessly to the very end. :lmaosmiley-1:

ETA: Okay I am done editing.

Oh no I spelt Clay's name wrong.

Happy Birthday Cotton!!

(Is this the first page????) :)

eta: bottle - That's a cute way to make Apple Brown Betty!! But it's really easy to make, so you can save the trip to Mickey D's (and about $10) and just cut up a few apples, throw in some flour, butter, cinnamon, brown sugar and bake at 350 for about 45 mins!

BWAH! to bottle's Apple Brown Betty! You got a recipe for a good stuffing with apples and such?

Staying home today---sick little girl who desperately wants to get better in time to go to Disneyland with a friend and her family Friday! Dirty house and dog. And hubby came home last night saying that his car died.

Crap.

So I need to get it towed to a shop today---most likely to remain until after the holiday...one car between us makes things a bit dicey around our house---oy. (I'm focusing on the logistical nightmare of the broken down car, rather than the more alarming financial one. heh.)

So here's something for y'all to think about. When I visited my 86 year old mother last night, she told me that her 'boyfriend' had asked her to marry him. :P:huh: She said "I don't know about that, but I do love him." awww... Bad daughter that I am, I could nly think, "Yes! Yes! Marry him! Maybe that would make things cheaper!"

Gotta go wash the dog...

Y'all have a great day! And the banner is too cute....with the current thread title, however, maybe we need an ice-melting one? :hubbahubba:

You got a recipe for a good stuffing with apples and such?

Open a box of Stovetop stuffing, prepare according to the directions on the box, and add a cup or so of chopped honeycrisp (or your other apple of choice), and Voila!

Y'all need to realize my family thrives on boxed, instant and canned. Tomorrow my mom will be fixing instant mashed potatoes with gravy out of a jar, the stuffing comes out of a box, and the cranberry sauce slithers out of a can. And I can't wait want to plow my way through all those goodies and spend my afternoon trying to snooze off the turkey coma. Good times!

bottlecap, I just hope you have good blood pressure medicine. *g*

I'm getting nursing home Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, with my Mom. However, on Saturday, I'm making semi-Thanksgiving for hubby and I, just the two of us. Cornish game hens (brined first, of course *waves to any Alton Brown fans out there*), stuffing (my one cheat -- out of a box this time), Texas potatoes, cranberry sauce (from a can -- I don't eat cranberries for the most part, and this is the only way hubby will eat them), green bean casserole, and Pumpkin Pie Cake for dessert. I simply LOVE to cook....that's why I whined in the diet and exercise thread this morning. *g*

OK, I'm obsessively checking my email for my M&G for St. Louis next week. If I'm not checking that, I'm checking the OFC to see if Clay's wishing a happy Thanksgiving to MEEEE!

But, but, but bottle, wash your mouth out with soap!! You can't cook honeycrisp apples, that's just wrong!

cha cha, I love that banner and that cute little O of a mouth! :hubbahubba: So kissable that little O of a mouth. :hubbahubba: Let's adopt the middle picture and use it always and always as a mascot. :hubbahubba:
