  1. Thank you bottlecap for the reports. Sadly, I'm not going to be able to listen to the cellcert this evening, so I appreciate your work....
  2. Crap -- 16 pages to catch up on?!?!?!?! Just checking in to wish the GFI gals a happy day!
  3. With this thread title, I'm going to be whistling the music to "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" but substituting Clay's name -- all day. LOL. Bowling? I used to bowl in a league. Got a 199. Once. Usually I'm in the 110 range. Topic? I would LOVE to go bowling with Clay Aiken.
  4. tribeca, to answer your question...it really is two separate things in many ways (the blogging vs. what happened at the dinner), but I think it all boils down to this: communication. More than a few fans felt that there would be some good, juicy tidbits that came out of him sharing the skybox with these people for the Celine show. Tidbits about Parker. Tidbits about his next album. Tidbits about his future career plans. Etc. And these fans felt that these tidbits SHOULD be shared with all his internet fans. The setting changed a bit (from a skybox to a dinner) but the expectations really didn't. Except...Clay set a ground rule or two, and as it happened, very few tidbits came out. Well, well. In the same manner, these are the kinds of tidbits that I see some fans wanting from him when he blogs. IMO (and to make perfectly clear, IMO), there's a need for constant communication from him. Yes, he doesn't make good use of his blogging skills, and I too wish he would a bit more often. But I certainly don't need for him to blog on a regular basis. In the end, to some, it feels as if he's cut off communication with the fanbase, either with his rules at the dinner or his non-blogging, and this makes them upset. And to take it further, some then feel that he's cutting off his nose to spite his face by cutting off this communication, and will lose fans. I guess I'm just easy, easy like Sunday morning [tm Lionel Richie] when it comes to Clay in this manner. I have faith in the man, his talent, and his career, and never really expect anything from him. I like the surprise factor when something does get announced, though. (I used to hate surprises, but I've learned the joy in them by being in this fandom...) So, while I would love to know more about the dinner last night, and would love for him to blog more often, I don't NEED it. I just want him to make me laugh, via a TV show or a radio interview or some concert banter.
  5. Thread title poll at the top of the page! Oh geez, I love Clay Aiken, and his way of trying to make things best for everyone. 3 hours? Wow. More than a quickie, that's for sure. *g* And hee! I always said it was "well well." HA!
  6. From clayzy: From tribeca: From annabear: From cindilu: Plus, the five suggestions above this post....
  7. Between reading this about Clay, and watching President and Michelle Obama dancing to "At Last"... *sob*
  8. Aha! Irishbookgal at CV found the "face source" for the one picture: I could place what photo shoot it was, just couldn't find the original picture! I'm thinking the other one may be from the same shoot as well.
  9. Oh man, I'm soooooo far behind! That's always what happens when I'm busy celebrating my husband's "birthday weekend!" Anyway, I have to laugh, because one of the things we did during the weekend was shop for clothes for him. What did he pick up? Several shirts, one pair of pants, two ties...and a sweater vest. Yes, I could totally see Clay wearing it. LOL. The other thing we did that would be of interest to this board is that we saw the touring company of Spamalot last Friday night. It's still a funny, funny show, and I enjoyed several of the performances. Jonathan Hadary was the king, and I had seen him on Broadway almost a year ago, so I knew pretty much how he was going to be (excellent). I also thought the actor who played Gallahad was quite good. OTOH -- I really missed Clay in the performance of Sir Robin. YWSOB fell rather flat for me. I guess I'm prejudiced that way! One more thing -- go see "Slumdog Millionaire." Fantastic movie, one of the best I've seen in a long time! Now, to try and remember all the good stuff around here -- tribeca, I'm glad your niece got her poster signed! liney, congrats on the weight loss! YAY for WFI! couchie, glad Mom is doing better. And {{{{{hugs}}}}} to everyone here! I'm sure I missed someone... As for those pictures -- I'm trying to find the original of the first one. I've seen it before, I know it! But yeah, I call photoshop on both of those. The second one is very nice, though...he looked so good back then. And he looks good now. Great conversations around here.... Oh, and some prayers for my sister would be appreciated. Her husband died last weekend (not totally unexpected -- he's 15 years older than my sister and has broken his shoulder and hip in the past 3 months, not to mention suffering from symptoms of Alzheimer's), and I'm making a trip to Florida this weekend to be there for her....
  10. Not a lot of time here, as it is my husband's "birthday weekend" (it was actually last Wednesday, but we always celebrate as a birthday), but I just wanted to pop in here to thank everyone for trying to stay respectful around here. Jaycee, your feelings are yours, own them. The key to message board posting is to not take everything so personally -- and I've found that from being a fan of Clay Aiken. Heck, I don't take half of what HE says personally. Also...saw the touring company of Spamalot last night. I'll report more later, but I will say that it's still a hella fun show, but IMO Clay was sorely missed. jamar, I read that Nerds book a few months ago -- picked it up actually because of Clay. LOL. I thought it fascinating.
  11. {{{{{{couchie}}}}} If you need anything, just holler, OK? How about some cough medicine?
  12. I'm reading all these grammar comments -- and laughing, because several of these "mistakes" Clay made in his "Elephants in the Room" blog! Yes, I wanted to take a red pen to his "its/it's" problem... The whole RCA thing? While the latest addition to the puzzle does make me curious (for those that don't know, clayaiken.com, which is owned by RCA, yesterday started redirecting to clayonline.com), I really don't care. I believe he'll keep entertaining me for a long time to come. It just may not be at RCA, and that's fine. Wherever he ends up, that's cool. From the public side of the OFC:
  13. Geez, I guess "read new posts" should work for an admin around here... {{{{{couchie and Mom}}}} I hope everything works out for the best. And get some sleep if you can!
  14. That's me too. I always say that you can keep adding layers, but after a while, there's only so many layers you can take OFF. Hope everyone involved in the plane crash is safe and secure. Love, love, love the UNICEF video, even if I've only been able to watch it with the sound down. He looks fantastic, and I love the white...uh...whatever it is. I've seen it posted, but can't remember. Anyway, he looked so relaxed and comfortable.... And professor Aiken is hawt. That smile of his is k-i-l-l-e-r. And I love him pulling out his iPhone, for whatever reason it is. (Pictures of Parker is my guess....)
  15. L-R: David Hibbard (Patsy), some dorky-but-hawt-professor-type (with the ever present iPhone) and Rick Coroto (????). Clay and Shannon Koger (from whose public Facebook pages these came from). God, I love that man. His smile is KILLER. I :::heart::: the bowtie. I kan rite reel gud, but I kan nevir rembr "me" and "I'.
  16. Via the CH: Winston Salem Journal.com All in the family Go Ruben!
  17. According to imdb, Richard Chamberlain is 65. I think he could do comedy, but he's not famous for it. I can't wait for reports. It's going to be -13 degrees tomorrow when I get up. That's insane. Topic: wonder if Clay likes really cold weather?
  18. Just chatted with couchie -- she's still sicker than a dog. I recommended Nyquil, as it got me through my latest bout of the creeping crud. Anyway, she had taken her Mom to the doctor's office for a regular appointment -- but as they were finishing, her Mom spaced out in front of her and the doctor, and they ended up taking her to the emergency room once again! It sounds as if she is having more tests. So, keep couchie and her mom in your thoughts....
