*sigh*
Close, but no cigar canuck2010. My name is a shortened form of "Lady Jocelyn," as I at one time was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. They recreate the Middle Ages to study them, and everyone takes a persona. Mine was "Lady Jocelyn." (Helps that Jocelyn is also my middle name...)
When I signed up for a Yahoo mail account many, many years ago...I tried to get "ladyjocelyn." No go....someone already had it. So, I took out the first "a." Didn't realize how much people would subsitute that first "el" for an "I."
And don't worry about it, I have to repeat this story every few months, as newbies come aboard....
Topic: isn't that Clay guy cuter than a bug's ear? And he's naughty by nature, too!

*hugs merrieee gently and hands her a Cheez Doodle*
Cute, cute family picture. That grin of his is surely infectious!
Welcome saltie!
I've cleaned up/added to the 2007 Christmas tour thread. I think all the shows should be there. HOWEVER...I did NOT, I repeat, NOT, add the three shows that are unconfirmed at this point (South Bend, Wilkes Barre, and Mohegan Sun Casino). After the Dallas/Houston/Tulsa debacle this past summer, I'm jumpy about that. (If they get confirmed by 15 sources, I'll add them to the calendar....*g*)
These threads are for planning/plotting/parties/hotel information, etc., at this time. On the day of the show, they will turn into our chat threads. After the show, they will be the place to put recaps.
Also, I've created a thread there to compile a list of FCA attendees. If you're going to a show, please post in the thread, and I'll update the first post!
-
If you're attending any or all of the shows in this thread, please post in this thread. I will update this post constantly!

From Forbes magazine:
Clay is part of the photo section called Crossover Stars, coming in at number 4. He's the only one with a write up that doesn't mention "gossip" attached to their name (WHEW!).
RANK: 4NAME: Clay Aiken
AGE: 28
One of a handful of music stars minted by the TV show American Idol, Clay Aiken came in second place in the 2003 season of the song competition, and has gone on to a chart-topping recording career. His song "A Thousand Different Ways" was released in 2006.

"Our Friend Mikayla" Picked as Featured Book
8/29/2007Our Friend Mikayla picked as Featured Book
Read On Wisconsin, an online book club for students in Wisconsin, will officially begin its fourth year this September. We would like to inform you that Our Friend Mikayla by Mikayla’s 3rd Grade Class has been selected to be the featured book for the month of November for the Primary age group.
You can learn more about Read On Wisconsin at http://readon.wi.gov . As you will see on the web site, each of the month’s featured books are displayed prominently on the home page. Older students respond to the featured books through an online weblog. Teachers discuss strategies for using the books in their classrooms on the Teacher Resource page. Each month, I travel throughout the state to discuss the books with students. Read On Wisconsin also donates books to students who need them the most.
Each month, I recommend 5 books, one for each of five age groups ranging from preschool to high school. I selected all of the books for this year’s list with the assistance of an advisory committee comprised of teachers, librarians and students from across Wisconsin.
I look forward to featuring Our Friend Mikayla in November! Please let me know if there are ways we can work together. Thank you for your contribution to children’s literature.
Sincerely,
Jessica Doyle
First Lady of Wisconsin

"Southern Heat: a Clyra Fantasy" by muskifest (on EAYOR)
Yeah, this story kept me warm during the nights last winter....
CrapYAY! My top-of-the-page lucksuckscontinues! -
cindilu -- OMG, how did I miss THAT one?!?!? Yummy.
Welcome all! clayharmony, nice post. And TLS -- great name. Can't wait to get to know you all more!
couchie, I was thinking the same thing for a new thread title. Glad you suggested it. He's such a dichotomy, isn't he? Also, is this the Kevin Studdard hair (from Zootopia in 2003)?
-
From an article about the Genesee Theatre and their tradition of having artists sign a wall backstage:
"The Handwriting's On the Wall"• Naughty by Nature: Clay Aiken, who was born on Nov. 30 and appeared at the Genesee last Dec. 1, wrote "Thanx Genesee Theatre for a marvelous holiday (and birthday)." He also wrote his manager's name and phone number with the phrase "for a good time call," but the joke was later painted over.
And I love the beginning phrase....hmmmm....maybe a thread title..."Naughty by Nature"?
Thanks for the reminder on the auction eandpmommy and for the link to the BAF video....
-
Just to let ya'll know....I'll work on adding threads for each show in Holiday Tour 2007 section. Then, plotting and planning can commence!
I will probably also start a FCA attendees master list as well. When I get it set up, I'll let everyone know...
With the influx of new members, maybe we can actually hold a true FCA party somewhere....
-
Welcome xxx4clay! Thank you for the clack you've provided the past few years!
How'd you like to wake up at night and look at this?*kicks husband out of bed for a second night in a row*
WoohooCrap. Top of the page. I'm soluckycursed. -
Welcome claycherie!!!!!!
-
Oh man, where are my manners? Welcome lovethatguy and TLS!!!
I just read on an OFC thread that AI Rewind Season 2 begins September 29th, beginning with a "red carpet event" in Hollywood. Can't vouch for the information, but I'm now officially praying for the entirety of Season 2 in XviD.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I hope thats true cos that is my all time favorite season...even without Clay...
Oh cool. I'm going to love seeing these over again, although I have them on my computer. I thought the group sings were great. And then there was that skinny red-headed dude.....
BTW...checked out the birthdays today and:00003653: to HUUUGS
Ditto that! Happy birthday huuugs!
For the
fresh meatnewbies: if you put your birthday in the correct spot on your profile....we'll notice. Oh boy, will we notice. Dancing chickens are not unheard of. Dancing Waldos are not either.Heh.
So this morning I'm in Starbucks and see that they have Lyle Lovett's new album on the counter entitled .....It's Not Big, It's Large
And I instantly think ... hmmmm this should be a Clay Aiken album title. But then I realize that Clay's would more appropriately be titled ....
It's Not Large, It's Colossal
You so funny. It so true. Hee!
-
Oh.
Good.
Lord.
I just finished watching the Fort Myers "Barry Manislow" banter from darling Scarlett. I didn't realize how fast the man talks until he
slows
down
so
much.
Incredibly funny clack!
I simply LURVE that AMA picture of him striding out with Tori. Large and in charge indeed....and I didn't even notice the crotch! Hee.
BTW, I'm thinking that if Clay ever takes a peek at a few of the message boards and sees all these saved pictures of his feet, he'd be . Then, if he saw Waldo albums....OK, I'm not even going to go there.....
*hugs tightly top-of-the-page buddies jmh and YSRN*

Also paraphrasing J. Foxworthy, via permaswooned's recap:
Clay Aiken: You are a Man of Character
-
This is for
ShoeBookWhore:And I know what picture you're talking about, it's from the 2004 Christmas program. I just don't have it loaded into my photobucket account. Sowwy.
Did I get myself involved in a three-some with merrieee and keepingfaith? I kinda like it.
merrieee....listen, you're still on possible mod status. I didn't like the snowflake hair all that much either, especially from the front. And yet, couchie made me an admin. Maybe she didn't know that about me though...
Don't hurt me
The fauxhawk picture makes me laugh, just becuase I think Clay's in on the joke. "This is my hair, I do it this way sometimes...deal with it." He's got that twinkle in his eye there. (Unfortunately, that phrase was ruined for me in the past year....)
Best hair? Hands down, AMA 2006. Gah.
Aw man, I don't have an AMA 2006 picture in my photobucket. Must rectify that tonight when I get home.

Wow.
Good job eandpmommy and all involved with this....
My work computer thanks you. A lot.
The Earl of Aikenberry. Priceless.
What hither do ye want?
Why yes, milord...I would be most happy to help you in your naughty play.
Later....
AH...sweet mystery of life at last I've found you!!!!!!!
*g*
I don't believe I've ever seen that picture before.
I've really learned to "roll with the haircut." There has been no real "awful" hair IMO at all.
I see this guy...
and swoon.
I see this guy....
and go "guh."
And then, I see this guy....
and faint.
I mean, really...to me...he's just so beautiful. Why? Because HE shows through. It's not the hair, not just the cheekbones, not just the nose, etc. -- it's HIM. The man. The beautiful, smart, funny, sweet man.
I think I just went :20: there. Sowwy.
Hot? Define hot. When I read the story, smoke poured out of my ears for three days.
I may have to pull that story out again tonight before bed.
