  1. Congrats Alex! And Mom too! BTW, muski -- I bought munchies today for next weekend. Probably went overboard a bit; I think I bought 5 kinds of cookies and 3 kinds of chips. Plus, if we order pizza, and drink lots of wine...yeah, we'll be good to go. Favorite piece of clack #2: No real story for it from a personal perspective, but boy do I remember the angst over this -- "Fantasy" from AI3. Remember than one? Days ahead of time, we found out he was going to be doing AI3 instead of Larry King Live. People were furious. People were livid. OMG, it was bad. In retrospective, considering the angst of the fandom today, it was mild, though. Anyway, he showed up...and sang...and danced...and the joy came through. It was a breakthrough performance, IMO. As Ryan introduced it -- "Clay Aiken and the goils"
  2. I went back to try and quote some (OK, all!) of you smart people, but decided that I'd probably get in trouble with too many quotes again, so I'll just say WORD and thank you. Now...none of you get big heads here, OK?!?!?!? As for the clack rememberances...thanks for bringing up the WB MoAM Ansa, and OMG, claygasm was there?!?!?! Wow...to have been in the audience that night. couchie, thanks for the trip down memory lane with the Crabtree Mall thing -- hadn't seen that in years. I'm posting one of mine very quickly here; others are either going to have to be loaded into YouTube, or else I'm going to have to think some more to limit it down. (I do like bottlecap's suggestion of the latest People magazine article...but not for that picture. Centerfold, baby!!!). Anyway, mine is one that I actually shot -- ISY from Dayton during the NAT. This was a concert that I had my worst seats ever, on the side upper bowl, about half way back. However, it was incredibly easy to shoot clack from that position, and that jumbotron was RIGHT THERE. So, I shot clack to my heart's content. After the performance of ISY that night, my seatmate and I just stood there with our mouth's wide open, couldn't believe what we'd just seen. It was a masterful performance that night. Anyone who says the man can't act, I offer this as a rebuttal.
  3. Aspiegirl, that is a wonderful montage. The images FIT the song. It really rocks. These three quotes pretty much sum up why I'm very happy at FCA, and why I just love all of you. 1) Clay is an incredibly smart man, IMO. Therefore, I also believe that he can handle anything that is thrown at him. If he can't...well, he simply learns from the experience (and thus, gets smarter!!!!!). He really doesn't need anyone of the fan variety to fight his battles for him. 2) Knowing your place in the world = staying in your lane. While I'm glad that Jaymes suggested to him that he "swerve a little," he knows the value of staying true to himself. I really think that includes his musical tastes as well. 3) Yes, his answer to the question about the sexuality could also very well be used to answer the RCA questions as well. I never thought of it that way, but it's so true. Same with his "people want to make your life theirs" or whatever it was he said during LKL. It was a beautiful quote, because I felt it dealt with the tabloids and a LOT of other situations too. So am I, dear couchie, so am I. I have to wonder if he's at peace with the amount of albums he's sold with ATDW so far. In a way, I think he might be...just a gut feeling on my part.

    this or that

I'd say full face, because my favorite is smiling Clay, and he's best seen from the front. *g* Now you know the answer to my question; what about you -- smiling Clay? or serious Clay?
  5. I think so! I'll be checking in with them at the beginning of the week, and I'll send you a PM if any developments occur between now and us seeing you. Will that work? I think there will be food (probably Chicago pizza ordered), sweets, and wine. Lots of wine. YAY! The TV Guide thing IS good so far. I'm amazed. But, OTOH, it once again proves one of my gut feelings -- that Clay sells more albums via TV than radio. (Of course, it would help if it got PLAYED on the radio, but still...)
  6. Ooop...sowwy. Can I make up for it with this? If you've got an account with clayaikenpix, get the original. photobucket doesn't do it justice. And it sure looks to me like he's got a V-neck t-shirt on underneath the white shirt. Damn you, Mr. Aiken.
  7. Wow...what a fun party. Y'all made me happy. YAY! The OFC has the information on "All Is Well" -- first the picture: eta: hurts me to take the picture out but ya know...we have to... here is a link...OFC All is well cover. Sorry you ahve to be a member to get to the picture....ansa Four songs: All is Well; Christmas Waltz; O Come, O Come Emmanuel; and My Grown-Up Christmas List. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! ETA: Megan Mullaly show info with Clay! Also, there's lots of good press out there regarding the DOOL appearance...Fox News, Soap Opera Digest, I guess Access Hollywood mentioned it, etc. YAY!
  8. *Waves at Procjoiner and linda6084* Thank you all for making the party a success! Looking forward to MCWL (and I guess AIW *g*) soon...very soon....
  9. This? Would kill me. Dead. Raid dead. Since one of my favorites of the JBT was the Motown thing...yeah, I think he'd be excellent with this. Thanks couchie...we'll talk about the dates for the next one! Clay does that? Really? I never knew. Yeah, you're right...the honeymoon will be a blast. I just like committment, can't help it.
  10. I'm stealing that really high "IFFFFFF" at the end of the song, and marrying it later tonight.....
  11. OMG, that's bad. Really bad. S'von!!!! My Man!!!! I love Clay's wailing on this at the end...the way he repeats...never, never, never, never, never...gah. In concert? This will be a standout. He'll just start singing, and we'll all fall out of our chairs.
  12. He's such an enigma with this song, IMO -- his voice is so sweet in some parts, and then he wails, and then he growls, and I'm simply a goner. Sex? Oh yeah, this song is pure sex.
  13. The first time I heard this song? Not impressed. I didn't get it....I think it was simply because I was dead tired, and had finally gotten the song to download. But about 2 weeks ago, I listened to this one again...and then again, and again...and I love this one now. His soul shows. And his wailing on the end is outstanding!
  14. Concert Clay for this one will be interesting. I think it will be a pretaped backing with the poetry...and maybe it will even feature a visual of the the poetress (what is her name again?) reciting the poetry. That would be way cool. Sorry couchie, but rules are rules. If You Don’t Know Me By Now
  15. couchie wrote: No, the tempo doesn't change, IMO -- but the instrumentation, and the percussion, really fills out in the second half of the song. It makes for an interesting contrast, no?
  16. I think what I appreciate about this one is that Clay took the idea for this one and ran with it. I was pleased to hear that this one had his stamp on it...experimenting. Good for Clay! Five minutes to next song!
  17. DOOL -- Days of Our Lives. I used to watch the show back in the day, and know the characters...but haven't seen it in ages.... Another thing I like about this song...the instrumentation again. Lots of layers with this one, and it serves Clay's voice well. Elmer Gantry suit? BWAH!!!
  18. I'm the oddball on this one...I like this song, but am not crazy about it. What I like: Clay's vocals. He does a wonderful job on it. I also like the poetry, think it adds a nice counterpoint to the entire thing. What I don't like: the high harmony vocals. Way too breathy for me.
  19. Broken Wings Or, couchie's favorite...
  20. Exactly! And that's why I don't mind the highness of his voice...because it's so PURE. Not many singers have that, and I find that so beautiful in his voice. Don't get me wrong, I love the growls and stuff too, and that low "goooo" in HYCA...but the song matches the voice in this instance. JMO.
  21. Now see, muski, I think his vocals are perfect for this...and I honestly think this will be the "kill the front row, and half the house, dead" song. He'll give us LOOKS while singing this...and we'll all turn into puddles on the floor. The combination of manly looks (GROWL) with this tenderness of vocals, and I'm a goner. Five minutes to next song!
  22. ah yes..the virgin...can't believe you held out like that. Yep...that was a great car ride home, losing my virginity at the same time. By the way, can we have some applause for William Joseph here?!?!? He has such a nice delicate touch with the piano. Clay's touch? No comment. YAY!! muski's here! No more work for her tonight!! Pour her some wine!
  23. you're joking right..screams..... i love you clays... no way. I'm bringing duct tape to my concerts. It could come in handy. I love this song. Love the simple tambourine hits during this section...it gives a nice percussion to this one, without being over powering. This song made me swoon on first listen. That was dangerous, since it was 2:00 a.m. and I was driving.
  24. Everything I Have AKA...the DOOL song.
  25. Wow...this discussion has turned...profound. But aren't we talking about HYCA?!?!?!
