  1. No kidding. Wonder who won? Angie is home on the west coast...been a long time since they've been on the west coast. Big group came in late in the back of the hall..."yeah, that's my Mother." Got up for the radio interview, and then went back to bed again. Early rehearsal -- so Jerome came to wake him up, but Clay doesn't remember it! I can't tell what Clay is asking the girls about... WISYS muski, ITA on IWKWLI...I was so looking forward to the recorded version, and it's turned out to be my least fav on the album. But live? Wow. The cellstream on CV is pretty good on the singing, and just OK on the banter.
  2. Lots of good crowd noise and cheers for EIH. YAY! IWKWLI....and who will be the duet partner tonight? I can't tell from the cellert.
  3. Yes, this sounds like a fantastic version of this song....and I DO love this song. Heh. You're right muski, I'm so used to him bantering after almost every song anymore. BTW...steak. Yum. Ribs. Yum. (Sorry, CG...)
  4. CV a bit better, but not by much. I never thought this song would be a great opening number...but it surely is. He's starting to add little flourishes already..... Love him....
  5. EEEE! It's starting. I'm on the CH cellcert at the moment. And suddenly everything went underwater...except for the screams. Trying CV again....
  6. This sounds like a gorgeous venue -- with the water around, people with their boats moored real close to the venue, the San Diego skyline in the background. There may not be a busline tonight, Clay's doing a reception afterwards. play, if you do CB, that would be great.....
  7. The CV cellstream has started now, they are just chatting. The concert starts in a few minutes, I think. The audience is filling up fast. The venue is gorgeous, and the stage is huge. AND....the CV cellstream just went out on me.
  8. It's past my bedtime too -- but I just chugged a regular iced mocha, so I should be wired for a few hours. I hope. Am I going to be the only one here?!?!?!?
  9. Just got a call from couchie -- they are sitting by the water, waiting for the show to start. They've been watching the orchestra arrive, and they THINK they may have seen Jerome bring Clay in as well. EEEEEEEEE! She also promises that they will write up something this evening, after they "get their drink on." Hee. Who is covering what stream this evening? I can do the CH or CV, doesn't matter to me. I've got subscriptions to both.
  10. Have y'all seen this yet? Blog satire of Deathly Hallows Only read this if you've read the entire book. I think it's hysterical!
  11. Cool. Does that mean those who attend Clay's next concert in Houston will get one for free in their goodie bag from the pre-party? :medium-smiley-070:
  12. Hee! I think it's in the union rules or something that Clay has to have at least one shouted exchange with an audience member somewhere in the far reaches of the venue for each show. And of course, the dude can't hear anything, so Angela / Quiana / Jesse / an oh-so-helpful front rower / etc. always has to translate for him. It's not a union rule -- it's a plant. Clay told us this. Clay brings this same person to every show and has them shout something unintelligible to him from the rafters. Reference: both Scarlett's and bigappleforclay's clack of the Newark show. The bigappleforclay clip is the one called "funny faces" -- ie., the one where my avi is from. KAndre, I'm so loving your entire recap. Someday, though -- I'd love to hear Scarlett's side of these tales. Just for comparison sake, you know.

  14. :F_05BL17blowkiss: :F_05BL17blowkiss: :F_05BL17blowkiss: to Scarlett and Solo! The Scarlett clack of Newark is outstanding. Even though I wasn't at that show, I feel like I was, you know? Fantastic stuff. Those who didn't like the Frisco show, put your fingers in your ears and sing "la la la" for a bit, OK? Scarlett and Solo have put up the Classics medley from that show. What a hoot! I really think he did a fantastic job singing LAV. It's also pretty funny to revisit that show after all the revisions/changes/dancing additions to the show now. Finally, I think what's really cool about this clip is the reactions of the crowd -- the laughter and joy and "OMG, that's Usher," etc. Amazement, in a good way, IMO.
  15. Well, that was....short. I took off my headphones when they said that they were waiting for Clay to call. 2 minutes later I put them back on and they were almost done with him. The only thing I heard was them talking about Idol (so what else is new?). There's something going about Simon trying to get a movie version of Pop Idol off the ground (???), and so they asked him if he thought it would be a good movie. He wasn't sure. They asked him if he wanted to be a part of this movie, with "all the drama." He was adamant -- NO DRAMA FOR HIM. *g* They mentioned ATDW, the concert, and that there would be silent auction stuff at the Greek show on Saturday. I heard the DJ's mention later that they had a bad cell phone connection with Clay. But still....bummer. Reports from the CB: Unfortunately, same old, same old. *sigh*
  16. Suggestions for the thread AFTER "The Aiken Experience" start here.... From laughn:
  17. I think this may be one of the best pictures of Clay I've ever seen. Totally agree with this. I love the way his smile lights up his entire face. laughn said "He's my happy;" that sums it up for me as well. There are only two pieces of "the fall" that I've seen, the one you've mentioned plus one from clayheave. Her's really gives the "better view" as it were, although you can't see the actual fall in it either. But, you see Clay popping back up from the crowd. The way he joked about it almost immediately afterward gave me enough of a clue to decide that this was OK to watch. He's so good at making light of his foibles. Don't forget -- KOST interview in a half hour or so. KOST stream.
  18. :Tour3: :Tour3: :Tour3: I wish I was there....*sigh*
  19. I finished the book almost a week ago at this point. My thoughts: I LOVED IT. I thought it a great wrap up to the entire series. Rowling pretty much got everything tied up -- maybe not entirely "neatly" (the whole wand thing still confuses me a bit), but I was just glad that the good guys won! I have a couple of favorite scenes: 1) when Harry and Hermione found Harry's parent's gravestones, and Hermione conjured up a wreath to place there. I thought that incredibly sweet, and very touching. 2) Hermione beating up Ron after he came back from his "I can't do this anymore" stunt. I LOL'd at that scene. 3) Mrs. Weasley vs. Bellatrix. You go woman! 4) The epilogue. Yes, I'm a sap. The names of the children fascinated me. I just knew Snape would turn out to be a valiant guy in the end. Loved that. I also loved how Neville stepped up to the plate once again. I'll come back with more later, I'm sure. However, I did want everyone to know that this week's Entertainment Weekly magazine is all about the Potter. Over half the magazine is about the history of the books, an interview with JK Rowling, and just all over gushing of the books. It's pretty cool.
  20. :Tour3: :TourExcite: California people, have a GREAT evening! Nashua Telegraph Symphony and "Idol" Make an Unlikely Team First paragraph (the whole article is cool): Also.... Fans Protective of Star I'll put the text of this one in the news section. With this one....hmmm....the grannies are back out in force. Heh. OC Register Clay Aiken at the Greek More later!
  21. Yay! Go Carrie and Blaze! That's what I got from the clips too. He's so cute, sure, but golly -- there's some major affection there between him and Q. It's apparent to me that he simply cares about her as a true friend, and is proud of her. And I love hearing him sing "Thank You for Being a Friend." I've always loved that song, and would have loved it if he really was doing that song. *waves at 00lsee* Hmmmm...I chatted with couchie earlier today and she said the California contingency would be checking in tonight. Hmmmm....wonder where they are.....probably
  22. Bridge Falls into Mississippi River I've crossed that bridge more than a few times, since my husband is originally from the area. I'm sure we crossed it in early July when we visited the area. Scary stuff.
  23. Thanks for the clarification, lickiest1. Just didn't realize that, I guess. Whoa...Minneapolis. Wow.
  24. Good luck BLAZE!!! Even if it screwed up your Mom's plans... *g* There's some interesting clack available of a sound check from Chautauqua. It's regular guy Clay. Part of me is a little uncomfortable about it, because it's semi-private time for him. OTOH -- it's adorable. Quiana sings EYGA in one clip, and the most of the TV medley in the other clip. In both cases he prompts Q with the lyrics. He also takes HER part during the Golden Girls theme. God, I hate it when there are moral choices to be had....but I haven't deleted the clips from my computer yet. And because of the recent posts here.... {{{{{{{{{{{Jerome}}}}}}}}}} Love ya, dude.
  25. From moonhead at the CH: KOST streams! EEEEE! luckiest1, that's very cool about your "new friend." I hope you get to meet up with her. My office mate is on a two week vacation right now....in San Diego. She called me from home before she left her home to find out what time and the location for the show tomorrow night. She doubted if she'd go, because she has her husband and 10-yr-old daughter with her and their flight home leaves early Friday. She did say, though....that she might go driving around San Diego tomorrow night to "listen" to Clay. Heh.
