  1. I love this idea. BUt don't you have to order like 100 pins? Could we get rid of 100 pins? How hot and heavy is the pin trade? In the old days, I think 100 pins would have been gone in a flash. Not sure about in today's market. I'd buy at least 3 though, just for myself. Especially for those who are doing multiples. They would be cheaper than t-shirts, I would assume. That was my thinking too. If the "A Thousand Different Ways" weren't capitalized I can't imagine there would be legal problems. I doubt he has copyrighted those individual words and if they aren't in caps they wouldn't really be a title. Now, I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV so what do I know, but I can't believe no one can ever use that phrase again without legal problems! As for the "everything I had" part - the song title is actually "Everything I Have" so that should get us off the hook, right (especially again if it weren't in caps)? Good points -- I think the capitalization might make all the difference. And duh on the actual song title. One of my favorites on the album, and I still messed that mess up. Gives the joke some "timing," IMO. The other thing I thought of, if there would be room on the back of the shirt, would be to put the "I did Clay a thousand different ways" phrase on the front and then on the back, like how they list all the tour stops on the back of the t-shirts, put at the top "I did Clay in..." and then list the tour stops and their phrases. Maybe to save space we could do state phrases like "I did Clay in Texas and it was HOT". Then again, we would have to vote on the phrases etc and that might get too complicated. New idea, one that might be less fun, but would allow people to "customize." How about "I did Clay a thousand different ways" on the front, and then on the back a simple listing of all the tour stops...but with a "check box" in front of each. Then, people could simply take a fabric pen, put a check mark in front of their tour stops, and call it good. As I said, less fun because the phrasing would be gone, but it's just an idea.
  2. Here's my ideas: 1) I think the "2007: The Summer FCA Did Clay" would make a faboo pin for our board. 2) I think buttons for each individual concert would be best for the fans who want representation for their particular shows. 3) I think a generic shirt, with "I did Clay a Thousand Different Ways, and I gave him everything I had..." would be the best bet. (I'd also suggest that "And I've got the credit cards to prove it!" go on the back of the shirt, if that can be done.) I do wonder if that one might cause some legal problems though, because of using the title of the album and one of the song titles. If anyone else thinks the same thing, my second choice would be one of the "I did Clay on the Symphony Tour" phrases. 4) As much as I love all the ideas for phrases, I do believe we need to stick with ones for the concert schedule, this time at least. 5) My third choice for shirt would be to offer the different designs for each city/phrase, and let people make their own shirt. 6) A tote bag would be my idea for the BAF fundraiser. Not sure what phrase yet. Could we get it officially sanctioned from the BAF/Aron?
  3. I've just added a thread title poll for the next thread! See the top of this thread for the choices...and there are a LOT of them! cha cha, I like the button idea, as well as the tote bag, although as a librarian, I've got TONS of tote bags already! Oh crap, just noticed a spelling mistake in the poll. Damn.
  4. From what I've read, Goran will be back from time to time in a few episodes, but I don't know how it will shake up any more than that. I'm guessing that it might depend on how long Maura Tierney has on HER contract, and if she wants to stay. Again, from what I've read, Shane West has a pilot in development for the fall season, so it might depend on if his show becomes a hit or not. I would think that they wouldn't bring him back all that often, because I've heard that the special effects for "cutting the legs off a man" like that is pretty costly. I could be wrong on that though. I don't either, although I felt for him with Sarah. My question was, how did he know Neela was going to be at the Anti-War protest? Agreed.
  5. Hmmmm....this is sounding like a project for YSRN to be in charge of... *ducks*
  6. There is supposedly no minimum for an order for shirts. However....for a T-shirt, I would stick with a single phrase (I really like bottlecap's one, "I did Clay a Thousand Different Ways...") that could be generic for the concert tour. Maybe a series of pins with a phrase for each of the individual concerts. Didn't someone make a pin for each of the JBT shows? We could do a similar thing for this tour. But I'm totally pliable, and would go with practically anything. I also vote for a shirt with sleeves, though.
  7. Canadian Tire Money. EH?!?!?!? (Canadian, of course, for "HUH?") keepingfaith -- EEEEEEEEE! A musician in our midst! I LOVE YOUR LIST! I actually knew most of those terms (that's what being an amateur musician for many years, with many years of lessons, will do for you). Very clever of you to combine the Word of the Day with Scoring on the Tour. I'd send that list to Clay (or maybe Jaime) if I were you! *g*
  8. couchie, what was the last episode you saw? Did you see the wedding? I'm guessing the answer is "no." Basically, Ray got drunk at Luka and Abby's wedding because Tony brought Neela to the wedding. Ray and Tony had a big fight, and Pratt sent him home. So, while Neela was talking to Tony to break up with him, Ray was at a bar drinking even more. As he was walking home, he got a phone call from Neela. He was just deciding whether to answer the phone when he dropped it in the street. Bent to pick it up -- and that's when the truck hit him (which we actually didn't see). So then, last night, we found out that Ray actually survived, but lost both of his legs in the accident. As far as explaining their relationship, man that's hard. Basically, IMO, it was they pined for each other, but neither was gutsy enough to say anything -- and then that damn Tony guy got in the way too. Hope that helps.
  9. I was doing a WTF over that one too, so I went over to that vast array of "knowledge" known as Wikipedia (which is actually quite good for something like this), and they say she's gone Gold, with just over 321,000 albums sold. It also says that the highest chart position for the lead single, "Over It" was number 21 on the pop charts. *shrug* Sounds like a decent beginning for her, and I wish her no ill will, but that's not THAT spectacular either, IMO. It's a beautiful Friday here, and I'm stuck at work. *sigh* Maybe Clay will fulfill luckiest1's premonition and blog today. He usually likes Fridays....
  10. You do not give yourself enough credit, my dear -- simply priceless. Love all of bottlecap's ideas too. Hell, I've loved ALL the ideas from yesterday! Just bopping in to say I'm in on the t-shirts, and I love the fill-in-the-blank idea (and the "one from column A, one from column B" thing on the back of th shirt). And I'm serious that maybe we should consider making this an FCA-MAD fundraiser. I'm pretty sure Cafe Press will allow you to donate money to your cause with anything you order from them. Just thought of a couple more, for the concert ho's: I did Clay in multiples, and it was tiring! I did Clay in multiples, and it was fantastic!
  11. Well now, we certainly found out differently tonight, didn't we? Whoa. That got me. Big time. I think that was the last thing on my mind, having Ray's legs be GONE. And that bitch blaming Neela? Neela was already feeling like shit for what happened, and then whats-her-face saying "you caused this." That was sooooo uncalled for. *sniff* Bye Luka. Miss you already. Write when you get work. Seriously, the heart is going to be missing for a while with him leaving. I actually think I'm gonna like the Stanley Tucci character. Strange, different -- but it looks as if he cares about his patients. His staff? Different story, but I think he wants them to work smarter. His way of getting that though isn't right. I actually felt bad for Tony this evening.
  12. Man, that's gotta be a thread title.... Which reminds me, I think I need to go through and figure out what our nominations are for the next thread title. If you can remember any of them from the past three weeks, post them here! I'm also thinking of starting an FCA list of attendees for shows. I started that this evening, only to get waylaid, because of all the different troubles with planning. *sigh* I'll work on that again this weekend. While watching ER this evening, I saw an advertisement for the NBC Nightly News tomorrow night. Their weekly "Making a Difference" segment will be discussing Beads for Life -- I recognized the beads right away! Hee. Might be interesting to watch. Has anyone recorded all the different ways we're going to do Clay this summer?
  13. *gasps a few last breaths* couchie, that's from the AMA show... *dies from all the pretty*
  14. husker, I think that one is par excellence! BWAH!!! As for making our own shirts....how about Cafe Press? I like this "doing thing"....and I was worried that muski was going to miss out on all the fun. Why was that? I knew she'd find the scent of smut coming from her computer. Off to figure out something for New York....
  15. Clayzor, what is "your show?" This Lost special is on at 10:15 EDT tonight, after Grey's Anatomy. I'll be watching ER instead though....might have to set the DVR for the Lost thing though. ETA: They are repeating the Lost special next Wednesday, immediately before the finale.
  16. I did Clay in Columbus and discovered a new world! Yep, still sucking...
  17. rcknrllmom, too easy! I did Clay in Orlando, and his hard rock was certainly alive!
  18. "I did Clay at a casino, and won big time!" "I did Clay in LA, and it wasn't Greek to me!" I so suck at these kinds of things....and yes, I'm not going to any of these shows, these were the only two I could think of anything halfway decent.... Funny that we started talking about doing Clay on page 69, eh?
  19. Hope couchie doesn't mind me taking over here.... We'll set up a separate thread, probably in the Clay Parties section, for the chat. Yes. A piece that we really need some feedback on, actually. I personally think that no more than 30 minutes is good, keeping things short, sweet, and to the point -- and it prevents things from being dragged out for too long, IMO. But then, I'm a quick typist and reader, so others may have some say in that. Extremely difficult! Two consecutive Fridays? Saturdays? Sundays? A weekday? (Now that it's summer, and TV season is just about over, my weekdays are better than weekends!) Or should we try to do this on a Friday/Saturday combo? Saturday/Sunday? I'll take some ideas here, and eventually put up a poll or something like that.
  20. Would it be helpful if someone (probably me) compiled a list of who is going to each show, that could then be stickied at the top of this thread?
  21. BWAH!!!!! Maybe we could come up with a whole series of shirts...."I Did Clay in Philadelphia and it was ___." Etc., etc. Think we could come up with some good ones? The Texas shows, California shows, and Florida shows could be each combined on one shirt. FCA-MAD fundraiser? *g* Maybe pins would be the way to go....
  22. EEEEEEEEE! Another AB fan! When I went to Florida last month, we had a layover in Atlanta, and AB was on the cover of the Atlanta magazine. It was an interesting article -- and I found out that AB has way more in common with Clay than I knew. He's a fascinating man as well. No kidding! It's bad enough to not have internet at work (when so much of what I do involves the net), but when it goes out at home, I'm usually frantic! I'm getting better though...mainly because right now, I'm rereading the Harry Potter series, hopefully finishing it in time right before the new book comes out! He's such a knowing little cuss, isn't he? Innocent? I think not. But see, that's the thing -- he's a master of innuendo, without being crude about it. Love him.
  23. I know -- I started to have my doubts when Hurley wanted to come along. NO HURLEY!!! I don't want you to die! So then, back to Desmond and Charlie, and I simply don't want Desmond to die either. Therefore, I was glad when Charlie knocked him out. I'm not a big Charlie fan at all, but I really felt for him this evening. Maybe I'm feeling that way because it's certainly seems to be playing out that he's gonna die! I liked the flashbacks for him. You know what? I enjoyed seeing ALL the island people working together again! Bout damn time. Even Rose and Bernard! (But I have a feeling things won't be good for that couple either...) I always read Entertainment Weekly's recaps of the Lost episode (this weeks is here). Anyway, I TOTALLY missed the "connection" of the week -- Sayid's girlfriend was the lady Charlie rescued during the mugging! Sometimes I think this show is TOO dense with information -- incredibly hard to keep track of!
