  1. Scarlett hon?

    You're losin' it babe, lol.

    :cryingwlaughter:

    Yes, losing it bad!!!

ETA: Badly, I meant "badly"... it's the adverb that ends in -ly right? right?!! Aaargh!!!

Scarlett, I'm worried about your Clack gathering capabilities for the upcoming Gala. Hon, I think you need to gradually increase your exposure to Clack and Clack byproducts each day leading up to the Gala, so by the time you get in the same room as the SOURCE OF ALL THE CLACKY GOODNESS, you will be in tip-top filming condition. It may be difficult, but we know you can do it.

Hi bottle! Increasing exposure to Clack day by day until we get to the SOURCE OF ALL THE CLACKY GOODNESS?!!!! Oh my goodness!!! Like you say, it's going to be hard. But bring it on!!! It's for the team! :)

    :Iluvclaysbutt:

ETA: I wonder how much a "rendering session" with Clay would go for at a gala auction?

ROTFLOL!! I had to quote you, Scarlett, cuz you're just too funny. I love ya, hun! And I agree about that picture of Clay making me POIM:SL)(UOM@?<#MN:LIUP)S&)(IH:KL!!!!!!

And I WILL be happy to take one for the team, with it being hard, and all. LOL!!

  2. Awww...thanks, y'all, for the birthday wishes! My family and I (including my mom) went with our little chairs to watch our town's annual Mayor's Fourth of July Parade. It's like a throwback to Mayberry-type things and it's a hoot! (Of course, my mom asked me a number of times what all the fuss was about. I'd say "Fourth of July, Mom"...she'd say "Oh, I didn't even know it was the fourth" and then a little bit later we'd go through that exchange again. She also hadn't remembered it was my birthday, but that's no biggie. (Hell, I wouldn't mind forgetting that myself! :hysterical: )

I made an appointment to get a 90-min massage tomorrow (heaven....) and will pay with money from my mom's account. It'll be her birthday present to me! ;)

Hubby, older daughter and I just got back yesterday from her orientation at the University of Oregon. She got her I.D. and registered for her Fall term classes. She's officially a Duck! :lilredani: She's sooooo excited, and we're really happy with her choice of school. Beautiful campus, very 'together' administration and amazing academic opportunities for her in a scholars program. She's gonna have a blast!

Now, Hubby has grilled chicken outside and we're ready to dig in! Gonna pour me a glass of wine and let everybody wait on me! ;)

Hope everyone has a great, fun Fourth of July, too! :thewave:

Muski, my friend, I must wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY before the end of of the day!! It sounds like you and your dtr. did the same that that my dtr and I did a few weeks ago - orientation and registration! It's cool that your dtr. is so excited, and that it's such a good opportunity for her.

Enjoy that massage tomorrow - you deserve it!

  3. My Christianity is not about judging someone's way of life and praying that they'll be "fixed". We're all human, and therefore imperfect. God loves us all anyway.

    Regarding families, non-traditional certainly doesn't mean non-Christian, non-healthy or non-loving.

I'm a Christian, too, and agree with you 100%!! To me, Christianity is all about love and grace.

Can we talk about certain politicians who feel a need to protect the sanctity of marriage from "those gay people"? IMO they would be better served by protecting the sanctity of their own marriages. You want to defend traditional marriage? Try keeping your pecker in your own marriage and stop lecturing everyone else.

Yes, yes, yes! Exactly what I've been thinking lately! *high-fives jamar*

And thanks for posting the recently discovered vintage pics of Clay. YUMMY! My fave is the one in bare feet.

  4. It's pretty quiet around here, but {{{hugs}}} to all who are checking in. :thbighug-1: I like to hear what everyone's up to this summer. Lots of fun stuff going on!

Since I posted the other son's pic I figure I'd better post this one too. This is Ian, who just graduated from Police Foundations at community college, and will be going on to university this Sept to study Criminology. He makes me look so short!!!

Congrats to you and your sons! What great accomplishments for both of them, and for you, too! Sounds like it's a year of transitions.

  5. Thank you, Caro! It was great to see the intro. Yes, Clay did cut a verrrry classy and sexy figure in that tux, both from the front and the back! YUMMM.

My family and I just returned from a week in Oklahoma City. We took an unexpected trip there because my hubby's Grandmother passed away. I've known her for 27 years, and she was like my own Grandmother. She was 92, and lived in her own home until a few weeks ago. Anyway, we went for the funeral, and to help with cleaning up the house and getting it ready to sell. It was good to see my hubby's relatives (for the most part!) and to spend some extra time with hubby and my kids on the road!

So, did I miss anything this last week? I don't have time to get caught up. Many thanks to anyone who can provide a quick synopsis of Clay events for the last week!

  6. Claygary - thanks for the link! That is a very interesting and well-written article. It totally makes sense that the sentiment against effeminate men is really a societal bias against feminine behavior in general.

Did your daughter get a scholarship?

Yes, she did, but the costs are still high. We, too, have money saved up, but of course not enough to cover everything. It will be tight for us, too! College education is still the best determinant of a higher income, though, so I'm glad she's going to college.

But if Clay tours, I know I'll still find a way to go to see him! :-)

  7. Do I remember correctly that your son already went off to college? So you'll have two in college next year - your son and daughter?

Yes, my son will be a junior. How did your daughter graduate so early? She must be one bright girl.

She skipped kindergarten as she was already a very fluent reader at the time. She was five years old when she started first grade. She will be in the honors program at CU, mostly because she's such a good reader and writer.

I'm already groaning about college costs, so I can't imagine having to pay for two in college at the same time! Are your two going to the same college, or did they choose to go separate ways?

  8. Gibby,

When will she be 17? My 18 year old is leaving for college in August. I can't imagine letting her go at 16.

Hi, Paulette! She will be 17 on July 1st, so she'll barely be 17 when she goes to college. Eeeeep! She will probably be fine, but it's a little hard on Mom! During orientation there were parent sessions, which of course included info on how to pay your mooolah to the university. But there were also sessions about letting your teen have more independence, letting them make their own mistakes, letting them solve their own problems, etc. I might need a couple of more sessions like that! :)

Do I remember correctly that your son already went off to college? So you'll have two in college next year - your son and daughter?

  9. FromClaygary...you and I are not always on the same page, but I was in danger of breaking my neck from nodding so violently while reading your 'rant'....All I can say is.:

    :preachit::yeahthat:

All the staff at my workplace are going together to an Oakland A's game today...gonna tailgate first and then just vegetate at the ballpark. Nice day, huh? My older daughter graduates high school tomorrow. Un.freak.ing.real. :Ahh:

CONGRATS on your daughter's graduation! It's rather mind-blowing, isn't it? I hope the festivities are joyous.

I just spent the last two days at CU Boulder with my 16 year old dtr, going to student/parent orientation. She will start there mid-August, but signed up for classes and got most of the orientation stuff out of the way already. She's so excited to go to college! I, on the other hand, have mixed feelings - so glad that she is moving onto the next stage, but sad that she's leaving the nest. I know that I'll adjust with time!

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying all of the delish pics of Clay posted recently. Thank you!

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to justclay, who inspired them!

    :happybirthday01:

  10. Funny to see which celebs they included for the Gosselin wig. It looked good on Anniston, not so much on the rest. I was happy to see Clay included! Yeah, the Aretha pic was extreeeeemly skeery.

LOVE your car Canfly. It's like the one Gibby and hubby are buying me for my graduation. :hahaha:

Oh, yeah, I guess we'd better get on that for you, Couchie. Now, exactly which school are you graduating from, and what is your degree? I need to know so I can personalize the big card I'm putting in the purdy red convertible.

    :cryingwlaughter:

Geeze I have spent the last 3 hours reading phone reviews. I'm more confused than ever. What to do? What to do? Well at least the list is down to 6. The saddest part is that one of the phones that I want is too expensive so it's not on my list -- the same phone that my 9 year old nephew has. That's just ridiculous. He's got a rich auntie and it sure ain't me.

People are amazingly opinionated about phones these days! There are huge arguments about which one is the best. I think it comes down to what features you want in a phone, and personal preference. I have an Xperia, and I love it.

  11. Gibby! I'm graduating next week. I'd like a convertible mustang please.

Okay, my dear Couchie, I'll have that delivered right to your place next weekend! What color did you want? :cryingwlaughter:

Gibby... congrats on your daughter graduating early! Is she going to tackle a go-away college next fall or one she can go to from home?

Thanks, Liney! She will be attending the honors program at CU Boulder, which is about 40 minutes from our house. She will be staying in a dorm, and rooming with her best friend. She will be able to come home weekends if she wants to do so. I think it's a good combination of getting away but still being close enough to still get support from us!

    Congrats Gibby daughter!

    Thanks!

Lovely pics, Perma! Thanks so much for sharing.

  12. Yo, my FCA peeps! I hope all of you are doing well!

I've been following along, scrolling sometimes, but reading most of the posts. I haven't ventured out to other boards, as I can get all of the news here without all the drama (mostly). :hahaha: Yep, I agree that this story getting picked up by so many news outlets means that Clay is still relevant. And that's a good thing!

So, last weekend was quite significant in my family. My oldest daughter graduated from high school, at the tender age of 16! We bought her a car for a graduation gift, and she was THRILLED. It was so fun to see her jumping and screaming for joy when she got the keys to the car. She's a careful driver, so I haven't had any heart attacks yet. :)

I'm getting impatient for news about a tour!! I wanna see Clay again! Yeah, he deserves time off, and I hope he's having a fantastic traveling around and seeing his BF. But I'm hoping for some news about either a tour, or the recording he mentioned awhile back.

I have to go grocery shopping today. D'ya suppose I'll see a hunk like this? No? DARN!!

  13. Have a fantastic holiday, chach!!

I've been enjoying all of the recent clack. Clay looks amazing, and sounds wonderful! I think the chin lipo was a great idea. Really, he's had very little done in the way of cosmetic enhancement compared to other celebs - the teeth, and a little bit of chin lipo. Not bad at all! He looks sooo studly in pics lately.

I really enjoyed the UM youtube, and I'm hoping that Mr. Camerman on the other side of the piano will cough up his clack at some point. I read that someone asked him for it, so we'll see! He probably got a better angle.
