  1. Lucky, I wish you the best of luck! Heh - do you really need it, with your screenname being luckiest1? I've been driving with a 16 y.o. She's had her permit for over a year, and can get her driver's license soon, but doesn't have quite enough driving hours yet. Plus, I don't think she's confident enough to handle some driving situations. And, I fell really skeered at the thought of her driving without hubby or I! I personally think a three-person band is too small, being a band member myself. I think you need bass, electric/acoustic guitar, drums, keyboards, and a couple of backup singers for good sound for a full tour. The three person band was good for the gala, but Clay will need more for a full tour, unless he goes the symphony route. :09: ETA: I hope my posts are making sense today - I've got a killer headache . . .
  2. Good luck, Muski! Heh, my daughter is 16 y.o., and as you know, we are doing the same thing - driving together, and figuring out college options for next year. What kind of music does your 17 y.o. like? Anything you can tolerate? Fortunately my 16 y.o. has pretty good taste in music, so it's fun to drive with her. Although she sometimes argues with me when I make suggestions about her driving! After all, she knows so much more about everything than me . . . We went to a presentation about financial aid for college last night at my dtr's high school. We'll see what kind if scholarships/grants/workstudy etc. my daughter gets - hopefully enough that we won't be going into debt forever! I hope that you and your dtr. find a lot of help with this at the presentation you're going to!
  3. Whew!! I worked a looooong day yesterday, and am just catching up. Ya'll were wordy! Smitten, I'll have to say that I understand and agree with your post. How is the move going? I hope well! Heeee, couchie, you crack me up. Most people in this economy would be thrilled to have an interview! Should we offer you good or bad luck at the interview? Heh - I'm not surprised that the pic with Merle and Clay inspired so much discussion. I think it's a hoot, and I didn't hesitate to post it because it's clear to me that Merle thinks it's funny. She is holding her hand over his hand to make sure it stays there, and she has a look of and joy and fun on her face! Hmmmm, I might grab Clay's hand and put it on my boob and react similarly if I could. I don't know if that's what happened, but it's fun to think about doing it . . . But seriously, tribeca, please let your niece know that I'm sorry that it was disturbing to her, if she still wants to talk about it. I didn't mean for it to upset someone like her. Or you! Wow, OOlsee! That's amazing. I love it. Well, I'm off work for a week!! Yay!! My schedule just worked out that way. None too soon, either, cuz a few of the nutcases at the hospital were about to drive me nutty! And now, I'm going to start rehearsals for the musical I'll be playing for in February. I'll be off to band practice later today. :09:
  4. Good luck with your computer woes, chach. :thbighug-1: I've been there, done that, as have most of us. The issues likely can be solved, with a lot of work! But it sure can be frustrating in the meantime. A new thread calls for decorating! I love the most recent stage door pics: And pics of Clay and Parker are just tooooo sweet: And these pics have been posted at other boards, so I'm going to assume I can post them here, too. Mods, please remove them if it's not okay. The last one craaaccckkks me up!!!
  5. Bottle, I don't think I can choose just based on two pictures. I need more. Please???
  6. Aw, I was doing okay with this being the last show until I saw that pic of Sir Robin and the King bowing. Sniff! I'm gonna miss Spam so much! I'm glad that so many Claymates are there, showing Clay the love. He deserves every bit of it. How cool that Reed is there, and that he sat with Brett and Nick!
  7. Some more CUTE BOY pics! I love his eyes and eyelashes:
  8. Sniff. I'm so sad it's the final Spam weekend. I'll miss it so much. And I'm sad to not be there with my FCA peeps, too. Ya'll have a great time, okay? Give Clay the love for me!
  9. My new year's eve isn't all that exciting, either. I colored my daughter's hair purple tonight, as she wanted it done before her new year's party. It looks really good! Hubby and I watched a funny movie here at home, and will be having some delicious champagne in a few minutes. I really enjoyed dreamlarge's 2008 end of the year montage. Clay had an amazing 2008! I'm so pleased that he not only had an excellent reception on Broadway, but also found a lot of fulfillment in his personal life. I'm so looking forward to the next part of his journey. HAPPY NEW YEAR, FCA!!
  10. I sense a theme with Couchie and Muski - last minute washing and packing! Heeee. Enjoy every minute in NYC, you two! And Couchie - I've never known anyone to be quite so happy about unemployment. Enjoy your freedom! I'm already sad about the end of Spam - I'm gonna miss all of the recaps and stage door pics. It will be most interesting to see what's next in Clay's creative and amazing journey!
  11. smitten, I'm so happy that you're going through with your move to California! Best of luck in your new adventures. Keep us posted, okay? BWAH!! Too funny. And welcome to FCA, tribeca! Aw, that's fantastic! I can't wait to see the pics! :7: This...THIS is what I'm so hoping to hear. I want it looooonnnnnnggggggg and lowwwwwww, too. heh Heh!! It's so fun to come to the board and read all of the excitement about Spam trips. Yay!! I wish I was going, too, and could see all of you! Safe travels, everyone, and stay warm!
  12. My, but Clay looks goooooood in Dancerdad's stage door pics! He looks absolutely edible. Yum!!! Here's a link to a cool broadway article about stars who have been on Broadway this year - look at number five! And the Waiting List is now available in the CV vault - it may already be in the other vaults, too. Clay is so articulate! KAndre, I love hearing about your travel adventures. Will you be sharing pictures when you get back? I'd love to see some.
  13. Yay!! I'm so glad you get to go to NYC to enjoy yourself, after all of the caregiving and stress with your Mom! You deserve it! I agree - tennis shoes in NYC are great! And they can be stylish. I bought some wonderfully comfortable and cute Sketchers before my NYC trip last March, and they were a Godsend. Have a wonderful time in NYC, BW!! ldyj, I'm sorry your trip plans are getting messed up! Hopefully all of the arrangements will come together soon. djs, that movie site is verrrra dangerous. I have a difficult time not reading the end of a suspenseful book, so having movie spoilers so easily found will be difficult for me to resist.
  14. Clayzedover, I'm thrilled that you're back home, and posting again! Welcome back!!! Couchie, word-finding problems are common after certain types of strokes. Is your Mom getting physical therapy through a homecare agency? If so, she can also get speech therapy to help with the word-finding issues. You can call her doctor's office to ask them to order it. Good luck! Smitten, it's great that you've found a profession that means so much to you! I work in a hospital, and the CNA's are invaluable. I worked as a CNA during high school, and it was hard work, but very rewarding. So, it's the day after Christmas, and time to start cleaning up the house a little bit. There are still presents strewn around the house, and a few errands to run today. Everyone here seems to be pretty happy with their gifts!
  15. Thank you!! I'm downloading right now. CG, I'm so glad Amazon responded to you! I guess they can't make the package instantly appear, but at least they will refund the money. So, does everybody remember the funny J.C.Penny 'doghouse' clip we were all laughing about a few weeks ago? Well, hubby gave me diamond earrings, so he's not in the doghouse. But I earned some extra money playing piano around town, and decided to buy myself a Christmas present - a vacuum! Heeee - should I put myself in the doghouse? I don't think so - I bought one of the newest generation roombas. It's running around my living room right now, picking up all of the little junk left from our present-opening party last night. It's nice and quiet, which is good, since my girls are still sleeping. They probably stayed up all hours of the night, playing with their Christmas presents! I love this blend! It's so fun to see all of the Clay Christmas pictures.
  16. MERRY CHRISTMAS, FCA!!!! We opened a lot of presents last night, and will be opening stocking gifts this morning. Sometimes the best gifts are small, so there are still lots of treasures to discover! We will be traveling to Ft. Collins today to spend the later part of the day with my parents and sisters. It's only about an hour's drive, and we always have a good time with them! Plus, doing a pot-luck makes it more fun for everybody. It warms my heart to think of Clay spending his Christmas with his new son. I'm so happy that he's finally been blessed with what he wanted the most! And since this is so cuuute, and hasn't been posted on this page yet, here is ClaySanta! Aw, that's beautiful! Thanks so much for posting it.
  17. That caricature is too cute! And so is the guy taking the pic of it with his cell phone. I, too, am very pleased that Clay has been included at Sardi's so early in his Broadway career. :nana: That's awful! Shame on your bosses. At least the overtime will be nice. My hubby has been working overtime on a project he has to have finished by tomorrow, too. At least he will have a four day weekend, starting Christmas Day. He's going to need the time to recover from all of the overtime! I worked yesterday, but am off until next Monday. Yay! Hubby and I decided to give our daughters (and ourselves!) an early Christmas present last night - a wii!! It's great fun. We really wanted something that would get the family interacting together a bit more, and the wii seems to be doing it! Our girls are thrilled. And hubby and I are having fun with it, too!
  18. BWAH! That kitten really loves it some broccoli. Yes, holds onto it possessively, and growls when it thinks someone may take it away!
  19. That's tooooo funny! I'll be sending that link to several people. Thanks for sharing it! He can call it any damned thing he wants to! Heh. We have neighborhood boys offering to shovel our driveway and walks when it snows really hard, but they are 12-14 year olds. Not exactly the kind of cute boys I'd be interested in! We've had a little bit of snow this year, but not all that much yet. We usually get a lot more snow, including bad blizzards, in the first three to four months of the year. Stay warm and safe, all of you battling the cold and snow! Aw, kim, I'm sorry! I hope it's an easy fix for you. Caro, sounds like you had quite the recital! I wish I could have been there.
  20. THANK YOU for mentioning this! I high-tailed it over to RHT to read the the last chapter. Snifffff. No, no, no! You've worked waaaay to hard to skip this trip, or to cut it short! It's possible to hire people through an agency to care for your Mom, even 24/7 if need be. Perhaps your family could stay with your Mom part of the time, and agency staff could help her out when they're not available.
  21. Yay, Couchie and CouchieMom! I'm hoping she will be home for Christmas. *prays* Muski, that endodontist must be from hell! I hope the the second vicoden helped. annabear, I'm so glad you're enjoying your new place! smitten, congrats on your new opportunities! It sounds like a great change for you. Another baby for Clay and Jaymes? Maybe - but I'm using a huge salt lick until I get something more definitive. Just cuz it's in print doesn't make it so!
  22. muski, I keep reminding myself tha my older daughter will be off to college next year, too, when she does things that irritate me. Course, if things go as she has planned, she will be going to CU Boulder, which isn't too far from where we live. And she plans to come home some weekends, so we will still be seeing her every once in awhile. And I'll still be picking up after her! I shudder to think of what her dorm room will look like, but fortunately I won't have to see it all that often! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to wandacleo and keldanker!! :04: :hb2: :04:
  23. BWAH! It would need to have that feature for me, too, since my two teenaged daughters are always leaving stuff on the floor. I, too, am missing the JNT. I've been listening to Clay Christmas music, and watching JNT clack, too. It doesn't beat going to a concert, but it's sure fun! Thanks so much for bringing over vanislandgirl's recap, ldyj. What a great experience she had! And how cool that she got to meet Clay, even though it was't a part of the auction. Clay's so generous!
