  1. If you have a problem with someone, please don't feel you have to share it with all of us, you can take it to PM and settle differences that way :bigemo_harabe_net-24: I have has some real resolutions in PM if the contact is made in sincerity. OR.... I can tell you how to work the ignore feature. Joyous days are upon us, I don't need no rain on my parade. Clay is already in the Playbilll, it is down to hours now and not triple digit, Now if I only knew when Scarlett was arriving...I might take a shovel to this back room - I finally got 2 of the new blinds up, now I have to run to the store and buy a bunch more, I love them after all! If only they came wider than 36. I still would like to know if this window moulding is completely lined with metal plates, since I ended up with many a stripped screw that I had to pierce and unscrew manually! They look great though! I need to buy more!!!! :sm227:
  2. Well, a couple of us will be there forthe live auction - who needs a bidder? I am going to watch if I dont' bid. But if you want me to bid for you and you don't cough up the money, I will hunt you down!
  3. Memememe. And I will be going to the Broadway auction if you need a walk on part.
  4. Thank you Akim It is important to ghet this message out to everyone. Not only must we have cell cameras, but there must be people wat on the other end of the line for transmission and posting. So make sure, when you go to NYC, you have evrything set up properly!
  5. Do none of these people have cell phone cameras? What is the point of having one if you are only going to use your cell for phone calls?
  6. Hey Merrieeee - this is a nice time to Visit NYC as well - some good plays there now.
  7. I have had some success in international investments, but even those can give you a spectacular down turn. I am concerned that the US is bailing out so many companies in so many ways. With the war, that should have never happened (was I the only genius to predict we were going to break a country then be obligated to fix it?), and stupid tax breaks and incredibly wasteful spending on no bid contracts to good friends with no repercussions when they steal/waste billions upon billions of dollars - where exactly is this money going to come from? - and then the country is going to say it can't afford social security and Medicare so old people should die. Or is that just a bit too political a statement for main? Just opened a statement today and found a mutual fund lost 25% this quarter - thousands of dollars in value.
  8. Thanks! But you realise I will now feel obligated to refer to you as nasturtium or perhaps phlox..... Oops!! A thousand apologies. I was posting while my grandsons were having a snack and so was not paying full attention. what does djd111 stand for? BWAH! and she does it twice!!!! And JMH always such a nice quiet person. Hmmmmm
  9. Here is a serious question - have some not been on message boards before Clay? Have you experienced a non-Clay minority opinion? I know some people have been on Star Trek boards and others have been on baseball boards. I ask this because some piddling disagreements seem to be taken as attacks. Now I have seen attacks, very professional level attacks (political boards). I also have been posting on message boards since before the first big brother show. It used to be on the Cnn chat, which I don't think exists anymore, then on the big brother boards where I learned about community and how fitting in does not mean that you have to change your opinion, just ways of stating it to show that you can accept others opinions while keeping your own. This brings me back to inflamatory words again, such as stating only one opinion is allowed, duh, no, if that was true, this would be a very different place. I don't think there is anyone on any board I have not disagreed with at one time and a lot of the time I was in the minority opinion, frequently holding the single opposing opinion, yet I don't think anyone was joining against me. I haven't been banned anything but TWOP, where they tend to ban your on the stupidest stuff in an uneven way. I have made friends with people who have the strangest (in my eyes) political opinions because in their hearts they are good people, you don't have to agree to be friends, life would be boring and you would have nothing to talk about if your friends echoed your every thought. I still think we need to have that discussion on how some people tend to post in hot button ways and others not so much. How sometimes you let stuff roll off your back for the greater good and other times need to point out an obvious attack. Saying that only one opinion can be heard here is not only false, but an accusation, not an opinion. If I disagree with someone I will tell them I do, this does not mean I want them drawn and quartered or silenced. Whichever seems worse to them.
  10. I think this is different than absentee fathers, a one or two month bus tour, and a baby who can be in NYC in a stable apartment where there are doctors and there is an outside and where Clay could be diooing something for his album where his exec producer might be needed and where each of them has friends. Now if only the stalking fans would leve him alone to live his life int he city rather than posting his address, because they are such good fans, you know, they know everyone wants to know. I am still trying to figure out if the voices in my head were saying something about 6 weeks, or if I read it somw where or if someone else said it to me. i.e. long car rides - babies love long car rides, heh. But who knows they could have firends in say Washington for a half way stop. fear used to stop there on her way up here and she had a 25% longer trip.
  11. well, he might go to rehearse for a bit without the child, but the baby would be there for forthe run of the show. Was there a source for the 6 week check up or it is just a rumor, since I have heard that as well. No way could I see Clay without the baby in NYC, he makrd the child as his with the No-hypen much like a wolf marks it's property by peeing on it. Although we all interpreted it differently, make no mistake, he was sending a message with the no-hyphen stuff. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Broadway grosswes, the worst week ofthe years has passed and now Spamalot bounced back to 15th place. I think that this indicates that there was minimal fan effect on the part of Stephen Collins and Drew Latchey since this was their last week. This might also be a low week since Clay does not start until Friday. The nextg week will be interesting.
  12. Additional places to find On My Way Here Kareoke hot hits August 2008
  13. Got my pins (and my new stove!) Thanks forthe quick shipping Couchie!
  14. I have been monitoring gas prices through this site and see that the lowest price has gone up 20 cents a gallon since yesterday, but the highest price has gone up 10 cents a gallon. Here is the thing, more than a dozen years ago, I wrote off my car expenses for business ahem and tracked my gas and my mileage, which meant that I was looking for the perfect mileage/gas station combo (I settled on a local Hess station, best mpg and decent price). One day I am in a hurry, I pull into the station on my way to the parkway and they have the cheapest gas. I have a 1/4 tank of gas and ask them to fill it up (the only way you can calculate MPG). They fill my car with more gallons than the tank holds 10.5 and they claimed 12 gals. But... but... but I drove in with a 1/4 tank. I complained and three really bigs guys came forward and told me I was not going to leave unless i paid them for the gas - I paidthem alright and paid them back good. Telling everyone in the neighborhood was not good enough, I wrote and called the weights and measure department until they investigated and found the gauge was off by 20%, not an accident. They were fined, had to give away gas for a period of time and had to sell the station. I hate bullies. The moral of the story - if you buy cheap gas, make sure you are getting your moneys worth. Do an MPG check for a few trips.
  15. I didn't even realize you were that close to the Hurricane. Nice to know you are well. I feel the need for a geographical locator now. This was one heck of a storm to stay a hurricane so far inland and to carry so much rain with it so far. I think there will be continuing repercussions for a while. I keep thinking how lucky we were that it did not reach it's predicted strength. Well us and the storm at the beach. Oh, how nice, W says that ajustments in the market can be painful, not that he would know because the bBin Ladens always bailed him and his family out. Sheesh.
  16. I am going to suggest the Homestead inn in Secaucus again for people who can't take the sticker shock of NYC. There are two double beds wioth a sleeper sofa for under 2 00 a night and has an NYC bus at the door, that cost $3 to get to nyc and runs from 5 AM to ! am every day, less on Sunday. The longest between busses is 30 minutes, but mostly duringthe day, every 15 minutes. You can probably get discounts. They don't have a lot of service because of long staying customers, but they do have an indoor heated pool and full kitchens, even though the rooms are small. Movie theater and restaraunts (cheap to very cheap) in walking distance. It is not a favorite hotel for people there. but I didn't see anything bad, just slow service, linens change weekly for long stays.Homestead inn
  17. The fire department will come and turn off your breaker box for you. They have rubber waders that insulate them from the shock. You need to tell them to just turn off the basement power.
  18. Forget about pulling plugs - turn off the power to the lower power units, you don't want them live! Most of mine are at 4 feet, still below the 5' window height. I awlays said the warter could go out the window, but thsw house would probably catch fire because the power line to the house is below that. Problems with sump pumps is that they tend to fail when you lose power. What I do to empty things is open the floor drain. It does not have that trap to stop the gasses (or rats or whatever), so I have to be careful to close it and when I leave it, to put a screen over it to kepp sewers things inthe sewer and cellar things from clogging the drain pipe..
  19. If you really want basement advice I found that water came into my basement 4 different ways. 1) the window, the most common and most recent way - my neighbors, nice people taht they are, raised their property 1 foot and them mulched like mad people. Although raising their property 1 foot should be enough, it isn't the mulch flows into the side of my house and raised the ground level to the window and/or backs up the water to the window level and the water actaully flows in the window. I need to go out in a rain storm and dig out the property tot he fron (30 feet+ some) to allow the water to drain. This was my latest issue. 2) washing machine - kinda sorta dropped the drain pipe and it was so low the washing machine tried to fill all night, woke up to 6 inches of water in the basement and at the end of the quarter, got a strangley large water bill. Make sure drain is in place before doing laundry. 3) Once and only once, it had rained for 2 weeks and then we got a hurricane, it actually bubbled up through the floor because the ground was so saturated. 4) Mystery river water - during one rains storm this year where we were getting 4 inches an hour or something strange, a river ran through my basement, it kept pouring in, I could not find it, the only way to dry the basement, was not to mop it up, but to open the drain in the floor. When I woke in the morning, the water wasstill running past that drain - I never sound the source. I think I found a recent crack inteh foundation, but it was not problem in any of the huge rains stormes since. I live on a hilll, I have no idea how water accumulated and came in this time. Things to be careful of when youhave water in the basement, that it never rises to the floor plugs! you could get electricuted! My lowest plug is a foot off the floor, so it is not a problem so far. Juist be very careful about electricity. Are basements neccessary in cold climates? I know some people with crawl space, but it seems iffy, you need to go below the freezeline (3 feet) here when you build a house for the supports. You could use pilings, but you don't want to have wood in the ground and it would be a heck of a slab. FUrther north, the freeze line is 5 feet..
  20. Fear forgets birthdates, Mom was 44, very near 45 when my last brother was born. I had and aunt who was born near the same time as my cousin. I think Grandma decided no sex after that, a small apartment full of children was pretty hard to manage. A several years ago a shop owner and I became friends, she told me about how she was so happy now, but she thought she would never get married, she ended up marriing at 48 for the first time, she had her first child at 50 and they did it the hard way, practice practice practice. She was in her 70's , still working and her youngest son had just graduated from college, but you couldn't tell me she was that old, the woman was younger than many women in their teens, I loved to talk to her. Then I had a friend who became pregnant accidentally at 45 for the first time and had an abortion because she was "too old" and not married (he wanted to, she was hesitent because of the 18 year age difference, he was younger), she really regrets it a lot today, a few years later she had cancer and the radiation and chemo pretty much ended her chances of changing her mind.
  21. I know when people threw out appliances and TVs etc from the NJ flood, friends of mine went around collecting them (they were going to use themn for part}s, but found they worked fine after they dried out. Now if they have circuit boards in them, they have to be replaced, once wet, always ruined. The big thing is to not turn them on until they are completely absolurely dry and stand by the breaker to make sure you can turn off the power fast!.
  22. Can you put a link to Clay's My facebook? I guess I have to register for something eles =what name should I pick....Hmmm You know fface book is how the animal rescue places beat BAF for 6 degrees., it would not be a bad place to advertise BAF.
  23. Thanks Luckiest nice to know they are well, I was in a sudden squall (75 mph gusts) in a small open sailboat with a fool of an instructor and had to take charge at one point, not my strong point, but the desire to live was kind of strong. We almost lost the boat, got soaked, but managed to survive a long distance from where we started. What I did was make them take down the sails when I saw the clouds racing towards us, they we going Whee, we are getting wind and then had them put out a sailing anchor (bucket) and move to the center of the sound before the worst hit (actually in the reverse order, heh). I noticed that every other boat was leaving the sound and going to anchor or dock, while we were still tooling around far from an anchorage, idjits. Unbelieveable how fast you can sail under bare poles, it took us hours to get back to our dock after about 15 minutes of a storm. Four boats and their crews/ families, were lost in that day on the sound. I think Clay did not enjoy the party scene in Hollywood (rotting souls) and I can understand it. He did not seem so enamoured with the gift bags, greed, invasive red carpet, and fake nicey nices.I don't think that he went to any red carpet he did not need to attend besides the Wicked one. You know is one of my favorite videos - it is Clay being interviewed before Hollywood week (WRAL) - he is so the same guy today, only older and wiser. I really love watching it. I wish we could find Jassy, she had the best stuff before taking her site down. So sad taht all that old video is now missing, she used to cap stuff before anyone else, mostly during the AI season, and closed down that summer. Unfortunately I did not have a spare drive and ended up deleting a lot of stuff I wish I still had. ETA - explaination of babysitting, sometimes I think fans think he is still a poor picked on little boy and needs another mommy - change his clothes, change his look, change his what ever - date this person, do this, do that, etc. And some still believe in the clorilla which I am starting to think was always a myth mistakenly emerged from some good fortune. Basically, I believe I am (barely) an observer who can only affect Clay's future by buying stuff and watching him on TV, etc. not by changing the any personal part of his life amd can only withness the parts he cares to share.
