  1. Thank you merrieeee. I was watching the debate with my husband and 13 year old granddaughter. I was not on the internet until much later. She is taking speech and debate so had to complete her assignment after it was over. We had a great discussion. Her father was a little upset that I was bringing her home at midnite on a school night. But it was fun reading Clay's tweets this morning.
  2. merrieeee thank you also for bringing over tweets, photos and such.
  3. Thanks for all you do ldyj as well as jmh and couchie. Its so nice to come back here where we can accept Clay for his choices: clothing, hair and career for the most part.
  4. Sorry jmh. Hopefully will have another happy reason to get together. I miss the times the FCA members could get together. Sure is neat getting the periscope. Sound on myphone is not that great so I'll look forward to downloading it.
  5. Thanks ldyj and jmh. I am much better today but still being cautious about eating. Mr fear had 8 knee surgeries. the last one was the second knee replacement in his left knee. He has had several series of PT sessions but he still has pain in that knee. I showed him how to sit down in the drivers seat first and then swivel his legs around but he has very long legs and can't do it. We have 2 Prius's. I almost always drive him but I was out of it that morning after being up all night. My hip is great, no pain just a little less mobility than the other leg. jmh , so sorry you won't be at the Gala. I don't suppose driving back and forth in the same day is an option. I did that a few times in Raleigh, which is 100 miles from me. Charlotte is only 80 or so miles. Message me if you would consider it. You could always change in our room or lay down on the floor.
  6. I can't watch Big Brother. Ugh! Another exciting day at my house. I was up all night vomiting with stomach pains so Mr Fear took off on his own in the car despite a very weak knee. Of course he fell at a medical office and they called the EMS. He is on blood thinners so he was bleeding heavily. I ran to help but he had already been bandaged and left. I met him at home and insisted he go to get stitches. He only needed 5 but with his history they gave him antibiotics too and told me to change the bandage every 3 hours or so over the weekend. We got home around 4. I could think of many more things we could do with our time. Having less than 4 hours of sleep makes me want to take a nap before I go bandage shopping.
  7. Had my hip replacement done 2 years ago this coming October. I feel so much better but I never did get back to where I was in exercising. My leg has a limited rotation but it really doesnt hurt. I definitely can't run but I can walk for longer distances. Only my feet limit my walking now. When I do the elliptical machine I get a pain in one of my knees. Hopefully that won't get worse. It's a real pain, literally, getting old. Hope you all feel better.
  8. Love that Donna Brazille is temporarily running the DNC, but really missed her commentary on CNN last night. Not a fan of Nina Turner running the DNC as she might not be very impartial and it is really needed there now. Have a great vacation Ladyj. We are going off for a week at Hilton Head this Saturday.
  9. Maybe its time that congress does an investigation Into why races, religions and nationalities dont seem to get along. Any kind of violence gets me sick. Wake up America.I feel bad for the families of the policemen shot and the families of the men shot all in a few days. Forgot to add who you love and how you feel. This is particularly important in my state, NC.
  10. Good appearance by Clay. Don't think I'd be able to stay that calm when faced with some of the answers they got from the NC populace of that diner. After hearing the interviews with the two transgender folks, it appears that NC businesses are a lot more progressive than its' residents.
  11. Lets start a list of FCA members attending the 2016 National Inclusion Project Gala in Charlotte on October 21 and 22 in Charlotte.
  12. Why did they check Clay's statement. Don't they have enough politicians to keep track of. . Whatever, I'll take it. Anyone going to the Gala this year? I'll set up a thread tonight. Have to get my granddaughter from swim practice.
  13. I'm happy you guys had a good time. Once a year sounds great. I'm looking forward to the Gala as my opportunity to hear the voice and meet up with old friends. Not as up front and personal or as long but good.
  14. Ambitious merrieeee. They'll make great gifts. ldyj sounds like you got some great deals. Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day. At our meal last night my son's MIL, who is deaf, signed a prayer, interpreted by her daughter, On behalf of her husband, who served in WWII and passed away last year. I am not very religious but it was very sweet.
  15. Maybe thats how Clay got so slender. I might need to get a dog. What is evryone doing for Memorial Day weekend? We are having a picnic on our deck today with family. Its not raining but cool and cloudy. We have an awning we unfurled in case of showers. Hamburgers hot dogs, potato salads and shrimp and macaroni salad, corn, greenbeans and a pie that took me all day to make.
  16. Hope Clay enjoys the show. I would really love for him to be on Broadway again. Hoping that's what the darker hair is for.
  17. Although not here verbally, I am enjoying all your posts. This week I finished up the last of my charitable work for the summer. I'll probably miss Clay today, so if you have any replay links, I'll be using them. Thanks for keeping the conversation going. Mr Fear is making some progress, so hopefully, I won't be needed too much longer as a caretaker.
  18. That was a lovely version of I Believe I Can Fly. Ricky had so much of his life to live. Sad how easily someone took it away from him.
  19. Knowledgeable and dapper. Love the shirt and tie combos Clay's been wearing.IMO I think he has been leaning towards HRC lately. With Bernie going negative, some of his ideas are being lost in the nastiness. I hope the discourse becomes more civil once again.
  20. Clay sounded great until it froze up, but I was just glad to get what we did. While waiting I cleaned up the kitchen, baked 2 loaves of banana bread and sorted through2 days of junk mail, watched 4 episodes of Nurse Jackie on Netflix and worked on my son's Oregon tax return. Mr Fear is in the hospital with knee surgery #8. I have been running back and fourth since Thursday. Hopefully he'll be out Monday or Tuesday. He is doing great. It'll be rough at home but at least there won't be driving involved until he has PT. Hope we get a few videos this week. Have a great weekend.
  21. I'm using IE 11 on my desktop. It just started with the new board. Everything else is better than before. I also had issues when CV changed their board, but chrome is the answer to most of my problems. Thanks to you and ldyj for setting up this new board.
  22. Not to be picky because you are all doing a fabulous job, but I can't read the last post on a page. I tried making the zoom under 100% but even that didn't work. I'll try chrome maybe that will work better than IE. Yes it works better in chrome.
