  1. I just got back from seeing Sinbad. He was a riot. It was almost all audience participation. I was so glad I hadn't had anything to drink before the show. Tears were running down my face. A good start to the latest Clay adventure.
  2. Hi from lovely Las Vegas! It's pretty warm here. The Orleans is quite nice. I have a large room with a beautiful view of the mountain range. Obviously I left before playbiller fell. We were going to meet at LV. I woke up at four and left for the airport at 5:00. I haven't seen anyone I recognize here so had a nice buffet by myself at the Orleans. I decided to take in the Sinbad show here tonight. I always liked his humour. The room overlooks the arena. It'll be interesting to see the comings and goings when rehearsals start. Playbiller is going to fly here tomorrow so we'll have to think of some low key activities for the next few days. I'm sure you all will get to see Clay better than we will as our tickets are more center in the arena. But I'm looking forward to just being here and hearing that great voice once again.
  3. WOW! Clay is better than a bunch of candy corn. I had a hard time wiping that incessant Clay smile off my face tonight. I taped the whole show but turned off the Regis part so I could focus on ironing a few things for LV. One of my friends couldn't watch as she likes those other shows: Survivor and CSI, so I taped it for her. I am one of those ludittes that doesn't have dvr. Fortunately (for the timing) but unfortunately (for her) my next door neighbor fell down the stairs at 9:30 and needed a ride to the emergency room since her husband has eye problems and can't drive after dark. She has a broken shoulder and did not reinjure her artificial hip thankfully. Got home at 1:30 and said the heck with ironing. Anyway, as usual, Clay is so charismatic that it almost overwhelms his singing voice. I love how he brings normal people into the spotlight: his teachers and friends. Since I don't care about those few negative souls and avoid all talk about them, I have a much happier life as, it appears, does Clay. I just hope that in his case, as well as others, the positive will prevail. ETA: You can vote for Clay on this very positive AOL top five: AOL top five
  4. Get some peanut butter cookies, if you don't have them a honeycrisp apple will do. Or candy corn. with peanuts or not.
  5. That is a fabulous job YSRN. I would go see that movie. Despite my trying to avoid eating those addictive things, candy corn, a friend gave me some today and they are as good as ever. Of course it's only been a few weeks since I bought a bag of them for myself.
  6. So sorry ldyjocelyn. It's good that you were both able to see her last week. I ate a gala apple yesterday, no comparison, in my mind, to the honeycrisps. Apples are my candy so the flavor and crispocity is very important to me. I am also interested in Clay's business dealings, just because that was what I did for my entire working career. But I rarely have an opinion about whether he made the right move or not because I'm not privy to all his choices. It saves me from a lot of angst. I do worry about people who take everything he does personally. I wonder how it affects their personal relationships. And it irks me no end when I see certain posters who encourage others to get upset about every little thing. I have five or six posters turned off at the OFC who fit in that catagory. :bigemo_harabe_net-24: Next week! :20: JennaZ :14:
  7. Well, I sent off my little story to Clay. Nothing funny or sad or heartbreaking, just a memory. I felt compelled to send it to the Red Bank concert since it takes place in Middletown, where we used to live, just across the crick from Red Bank. I loved that house and I loved the area, too bad we felt compelled to eat and have electricity. It was a bad time for jobs on Wall Street. This isn't the story by the way. I can just see Clay reading my story and saying this woman must have been an accountant, cause she sure can't write worth a lick. I've been looking at things to do in LV. Has anyone ever gotten that day pass for several attractions? It gets you into the amusement area but can't tell if it includes rides. Wonder if there are any places for arcade games. I'm a fool for skee ball and pokerino. Maybe playbiller and I can do this in Jersey. The pass does seem to include the wax museum and Liberace musueum as well as the Belagio art museum.
  8. She always tempts me with that candy corn and I don't have any in the house. If I did I wouldn't be able to find it. Have a good sleep.
  9. I tried to get more info from her but she disappeared in the subway. The most important thing was that he sounded fantastic and gave her chills.
  10. Play also said that Clay got the first standing o and after him only Connie Francis and Neil got them. She said Clay's voice gave her the chills. He was unbelievable. So even if Scarlett's video is shakey, her camera has unbelievable sound. Can't wait.
  11. Cousin Brucie is a NYC dj from a long time ago. Actually I was a teen. He used to talk about teenagers sitting in the car submarine watching while listening to his station.
  12. After Clay, Cousin Brucie came on shaking his head. In the beginning David Foster said he is producing Kat Mc Phee's new album. She was in the audience.
  13. Bangs, blue shirt, open at collar, never spoke. He got first standing o. Sorry, talking to play.
  14. Play just called said the place was packed. She barely made it as there was much traffic. She has a great view.
  15. Hey couchie, although I no longer peddle tax advice for big bucks but instead offer it for free to senior citizens and low income tax payers, I'd be very happy to offer you a few general rules for the self-employed. Please feel free to pm me if you wish. I gave up worrying about Clay after I saw the way he handles himself in difficult situations. He is one fast learner. I am thrilled to see him being so happy. It must make those who waste their lives hating him so angry. I have been buying honeycrisp apples from Costco for $!.00 per apple. At our grocery stores they cost $2.99 per pound. Ouch! But they are worth it. Our local paper described them as having the crispness of watermelon and the dripping sweetness of honey. I wouldn't dare give any child raising advice since I spent about twenty years of my life on the verge of a nervous breakdown with depression thrown in due to the antics of my youngest son who somehow managed to survive. How I managed to run a business, stay married and not kill him, I'll never know. And I am a pretty mild mannered person.
  16. I've got my ticket but thanks for the offer. I'm sure someone will take you up on it. Only a week and a half before I leave for LV. They start deconstruction of our kitchen tomorrow and I'll be gone all day. The new cabinets will probably go in when I'm in LV. Luck or good planning?:31: Talked to my son in OR, he said he read in the New York Times that Clay will be in Spamalot. Didn't know it made the Times. He doesn't usually follow entertainment so it must have stood out for him to see it. :7:
  17. Sending good thoughts to your MIL, ldyjocelyn. It is scarey, so hope your husband can adjust to the situation . Our Mom, play and I, had a stroke and worked really hard to recover. It was important for her to go to a really good rehab to get the desire and will to improve. Depression is pretty common after a stroke. Unfortunately she had a heart failure and only lived a year after that (she was in her eighties too). But it was a quality year for her.
  18. I just heard from playbiller, who is in the vets emergency clinic with her dog. The men working on her kitchen let the dog out and it got hit by a car. She is very upset, so a few kind thoughts for Holly, the dog, would be welcome. I believe they are performing surgery on Holly as they just asked playbiller for permission and gave her an estimate. The damage appears to be on her shoulder and her side. I told her Holly is one lucky dog to have an owner willing to pay whatever to save her dog. I feel strongly that everything will be all right.
  19. My husband is in Raleigh right now for an investor conference with his internet board. I'll be going there tomorrow for dinner but I'll probably leave right after it so no Ruben concert for me. Playbiller and I are having a race to finish our kitchens. I have so much junk, I had to rent a storage unit. Anyway the cabinets don't empty themselves and the new ones come in next week. If Clay is in Spamalot, I guess I would be there. It seems I am going up North so much playbiller doesn't even have to change the sheets in her spare room. *g* ETA: So what happens when you are at the top?
  20. Hi Cotton, I can't watch that show after the debacle but I like the pictures from that show of Clay alone. He certainly lost his inhibitions on that show whwn it came to dancing. When my computer died suddenly my older son suggested I take out the hard drive and put it in a shell specially made for that purpose. Amazingly it works. I thought I had lost a ton of family pictures.
  21. Another ATD fan. I also liked JY and would really like to hear it again but if I don't- eh it's just a song. I resucitated my hard drive from a dead computer a few months ago and I'm finally using it. In honor of DWTS I have this to add from gerwisp: and
