  1. Oh, this is a classic. A classic, I tell you! CASBAH Tour Clay Aiken's Snowyballs And Hardland Tour CASBAH Tour "Rock the Casbah...Rock the Casbah." Oh, Lord...the antihistamines are kickin' in... ETA: Glad you liked "Working from Home", Liney...somehow, I just knew you would. Or we could do the Shiny Balls and Big Packages Tour? Just in the spirit of the Holiday, you know. Keepingfaith... BWAH!!! Love it!
  2. Posthoing to say, I did it... I found the right thread and nominated a title.... I'm starting to get the same kinda complex you guys that keep getting at the top of the page only I keep getting the bottom of the page. Am I the pits???? Just for that... And, this one can never be seen too often, IMO! Back to work... sorta
  3. Muski... it's gonna take me a while to recover from that quicky... woman, that was GREAT!!! Also, I think the umbrella remark meant a really long certain sumpin... at least that's the only thing I can come up with... hee hee. ETA: I have tried 3 times to get these quotes right... sorry! Somebody wanna give a class in multiple quotes??? Canuck... Congratulations... that is soooo kewl!!! Thread title.... off to try and figure out how to nominate... I just made bodyguard, so am a newbie, too. I was on pins and needles after CG's post and tho there was some uncomfortableness, I think mostly it went OK. I was thinking about it. Almost all the newbies are refugees from boards where that post would have started a war. I am a bit gun-shy and am just so happy that everyone was giving their opinions without trying to prove to everyone that they were the right ones and the rest of us were the wrong ones. Whew!!! Congratulations to us all!!! I read some very interesting and thought provoking posts without feeling threatened at all... YEAH!!! If we ALL determine that this board will be comfortable and inclusive for all.... it will be. Plain and simple. And fun and smutty... YUM!!! This is one HAPPY member of FCA who will be very careful posting cause I don't want Couchie and Ansa and the "not-mods" to have to work any harder than they ever have... in other words, hardly at all. I want them to be able to just be posters like us all, cause I appreciate this place just so very much!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: eta: aww thanks for the thought...fixed your quotes...ansa Thanks, ansa... I studied what you did and I think I've got it now! Whew!
  4. OMG, Stargazer... those are simply gorgeous! Back to something just terribly important.... jello! My kids just loved a desert I made from jello, so I'm going to share it... scroll at will. I used parfait glasses, but you can use any kind of tall glasses. Make a color of jello (I did red/whitish/blue for July) Green/red... whatever. Fill one-fourth of glass with one color, tip the glass sideways in the fridge and let harden. Fill next one-fourth, tip, let harden. Etc. Top with whipped cream to the top and above. Fun, delicious (it doesn't wiggle if it's contained in a glass, people who hate wiggling anything). Now, for something even more important... And, not to ignore his other side... And, for Muski, in her misery... (awwwww) I barely Survived this one... One of my faves... tho bleary, dang it! With that, I have to go do what I have to go do for this evening... By the time I get back, there will probably be 10 pages to read before I can post again...
  5. Bottle... Excellent! Diva... Loved your limerick! I also can't say no to my family... comes from needing to be loved and approved of and ... you get my drift. Sigh... one of these days I'll get strong enough to say no occasionally! I thought all along that Clay had probably gotten caught up in nostalgia and said doing a tour together would be fun, did some brainstorming, then reality came back and um... no. Not returning Kim's calls has bitten him in the a$$. That said she should not have jumped the gun without definite onfirmation from Clay and her response was not the brightest. Anyone reading it would go, "he didn't return her calls for two months and she didn't get a clue?" As is normally the case, there is probably some fault on both sides. Her jumping the gun was less bright than his not returning her calls, tho, IMO...
  6. Bookwhore... I think Clay is real. ---- Oh and .... jamar... LOVED your quote. Explains it right on the money! Wandacleo... I laughed for 5 minutes over that picture... thanks! Ya'll know I love this place, but it just took me an hour and a half to catch up so I could post so I can go to bed and not be 87 pages behind when I get up in the a.m. Had a blast, tho!
  7. Laughn... Keeping Faith... I grew up in the middle of Illinois and we always had salt on these fruits... so it is not just a Texas thang... and my whole family never ever even traveled to Texas! I have lived in SoCal since '66, so don't do that any more, but I did! I also grew up with hominy. Is that the same thing as grits? Loved them! I could never understand the caviar love... I love salt, but that is just way tooooo salty for me. I'll just down the champagne that usually goes with it! We are all different and we are all wonderful!!! I love it here, just in case I forgot to tell you lately!
  8. I've been watching all the Classics clack in my quest to analyze BGB for The List. Man, the concert in Florida where he changed into the brownish shirt at intermission... IMO that is the sexiest Classics in the bunch. Don't know if it was the cut of the shirt, or the color or what, but he looked HAWT to the max! Only Orlando was sexier... that black shirt REALLY worked. Also, he wasn't quite as campy in either of those places, so the whole performance was sexier. Wish I had pics to illustrate, but I don't have time to go looking. I agree with the opinions about many fans thinking Clay is not cool enough. My analysis is that there is a LOT of fear of loss involved. If he doesn't do this, we'll lose him (and all that goes with him), if he doesn't look like that, we'll lose him, etc. When people don't trust, they try to control. And, the anomymity of the internet lets them be very vocal about it, unfortunately! I think one of the things Clay is here to do is to bring the message that being yourself is the coolest thing you can do. This whole journey has been quite the ride. Clay has seen the good side of his fans (Wagons/UNICEF/Gala) and the bad side (booing/angsting). Good thing he's a VERY smart man and has those titaniums. And, one of my faves, just cause all this serious talk needs something superficial to finish it off...
  9. jmh, thank you so much for the links... just the thing for an insomniac... KarenEh, please tell your cohorts that their and your work is greatly appreciated and enjoyed!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss: I'm going to try to sleep now...
  10. Bolding mine. I, myself, "just once before I die" want a M&G SRHP Tour style. I went and read his blog and then a few of the comments. I sure am glad I'm not Clay... some of those comments hurt me and I'm not even him, if you get my drift. Couchie, Ansa, not mods... thank you so much for this haven of non-angstsy/non-controlling peeps!!!
  11. Carolina... CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I have 6 and it is always just so wonderful the first time you hold that tiny bundle.... and then give him back! Being a gramma rocks! Love this choice!... Now, that's a SHADOW and a half... Just think, if he hadn't forgotten his t-shirts and if Sean wasn't so tiny, we'd have missed that wonderfulness! {{{{{{DIVA}}}}}} I have always loved your posts cause of their common sense, but also cause I am metaphysically inclined and love to see the bigger picture. I agree with your comments completely! Except for the feeling lousy one... I'm sorry you do!!! I can't seem to figure out the quote thingy! HELP! ~all better
  12. Everyone feels what they feel and that's ok. HUGGS!!! I don't know of anyone who regrets going to the AI2 tour and that was not al Clay. I've never seen anything that Clay has done that has disappointed me... he is always entertaining. I just know he will make it a fun show! I bet he would be Executive Producer, he and 5230. Ruben always shined when he was with Clay and I see no reason for that to have changed. Kim has a great voice when she picks the right song. I am very willing to listen to them if it means seeing Clay have fun with his friends... And, it would be a band and let him sing LNM and IYDKMBN... OOHHHH!!! Bottomline... I have learned to trust him! Plain and simple!
  13. I have ta say, I think on the tails of AI2 Rewind that this tour, if it happens, could be a good thing for all of them... you gotta know that Clay's humor would make the show shine and people who had never seen him before would leave wanting to see him again and to buy his next kick-ass CD. He'd have fun, make some money and new fans... I'd go for sure. Ruin his career... I don't believe so... IMO! I am sooo behind, haven't read 64 to 72 and may not have time to since work and RL have suddenly turned up the volume. Since I have missed MANY pages, don't know if this has been posted recently, but figure that doesn't really matter... pretty is pretty at any time, especially multiple times... (leer)
  14. Gala UM... bestest version eveh! Gala Clay... yummy to the max! I play that whole three songs over and over on video and audio in my car. Really Good Stuff!!! I have listened to whole shows (thanks deborah for audios of the shows), but never watched the clack of some of the songs. I've watched all the banter and all the classics. I went to the SoCal-4fer and the clack didn't ruin anything for me. I am so thrilled to be seeing it live that I could care less what he did in other shows. I do that when I watch it in clack later. I am soooo glad to have been in Pala in person. Best show of the 4fer IMO. I am so thankful for the clack. I went to Indio, but I was sooo tired by then that I didn't enjoy the show as much as I do now that I have seen the clack... it was a good show!
  15. Somehow I got the idea that I was assigned Baby Got Back when I volunteered to take something... Did I imagine it, since I can't find the post anywhere... Anyway, I am about 2/3 done on BGB and Kandre, if you haven't done it already, I will continue to do BGB.
  16. I thought the same thing...LOL... 4+ years later, guess what? Here's to all of us!... To us! Ohhh, thanks sooo much for that cute drinking emoticon... I watched it thru its cycle and LOL... Love this place... drinkin' and a smuttin'... drinkin' and a smuttin' What a great life we Clay nuts Mates have!
  17. cindilu2, I agree totally on both these counts... love Harry Connick Jr. And, AI UM... when I saw that I just played it over and over and over. Still can't watch it just once. I think that's a much better tempo, at least for me... LOL Busy weekend, so I'll probably get wwwaaayyyy behind, but I'll enjoy catching up, I'm sure.
  18. You ladies are slooowwwww. hee. Why do y'all think I chose that picture for my avi? Manderly... I FLOVED looking at the double whammy of that picture and your avie in unison... Puddin' Joy... What a neat story. I'm going to buy that book! Now, off to download Hartford.
  19. When I first saw this about a week ago on another board, it was phrased such that it sounded like the case was dropped cause what she was asking for was not inforceable. Also, she is going to appeal to the higher court. So, Clay's legal fees are not finished yet and even if she loses, she does not have to pay his fees unless he sues for it. At least that's what the legal expert was saying in that board. What an idiot she was. She lies/exaggerates, tells people's stories without their permission and then sues cause they call her on it. Geesh! I wonder how many lawyers she went to before she found the gal who is taking her money in this. Ohhh, muski, you and I said the same thing (essentially) at the same time... :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  20. I don't dream much and then hardly ever remember them, but I did have one Clay dream and, of course, that one I remembered... This dream happened after Sean Connery was spotted buying something at our local drug store (Savon back then). I hear a commotion outside and look out my patio... I hear a lot of screaming... see a lot of commotion. I go out onto my patio and look down and see a tall, skinny guy sorta running thru the complex... I yell down... "Up here, Clay, you'll be safe." and he bounded up my stairs and I run to the door to let him in. I lock up tightly behind him (all three locks) and he's standing there, hands on knees, trying to get his breath back. He trys to say something and I put my finger to my mouth and go, "shhh," as we hear multiple squealing teenagers pounding up my stairs. "I know I saw him go up here," we heard. He got a scared look on his face and I pointed to the three locks and he relaxed a bit. I pointed to the couch and he went to sit down. The pounding on my door and my neighbors door started and the yelling continued for a few minutes. They finally gave up and left to search some more. I got Clay water and we sat and talked for awhile. I told him he could stay the night if he needed to, but he used my phone to call for a car and when it came, he gave me a hug and left. End of dream! Sigh... I sure wish the ending had been a bit more exciting!
  21. Gibby, that is a gorgeous picture... I love mountain reflected in water... actually, almost anything reflected in water. Aspiegirl, great montage. How you get everything to sync up is amazing! Ya, Orlando Classics - Regina. Roared with laughter at Clay being "off the chain" Karen Eh... Baku, Azerbaijan - what country did that used to be? Around Georgia, Russia? Around the Baltic somewhere? Sounds like quite an adventure. I have a dear friend who traveled around the world with her husband and I love to hear her adventures raising 3 kids in foreign countries. As long as you can get internet, you can be at home anywhere.
  22. I don't like to cry... my eyes are swollen for 2 days and I feel like I got dragged backwards thru a bush, too... so the list of movies I have deliberately not gone to would fill a book... Sometimes you get it accidently... Independence Day... I LOVED that movie, but cried when the First Lady died and then got mad, cause it just wasn't necessary for the flow of the movie IMO. Ole Yeller got me sooo bad that I have never watched that movie again... Dances with Wolves, too. Great movie, but I'll never watch it again. I don't cry at songs for some reason. I LOVE LAA, but it doesn't make me cry, just sad that Clay might feel/have felt that way and I know I have. Angst in the fandom... I feel that many got very invested in Clay cause their votes got him back each week, then when he didn't win, it was well, what I do is going to make/break his career. There are also many who worry so about losing him that they angst over how his hair is, etc cause if he doesn't do it perfectly, he will go away. I have felt a bit of relaxing after we got thru the mess successfully, but some are so in the habit and actually like being angsty, so it will go on, I'm afraid. It makes many feel connected... if I'm worrying about him, I'm showing my love! I LOVE this site, Couchie and Ansa! Thank you!!!
  23. Muski, I agree... I always felt he was talking down to Clay... and since he makes fun of him after being all buddy buddy with him on the show, I think of him as two-faced. Don't like Leno (no, really LOL) BUT, I will watch everytime Clay is on, cause I like to watch Clay being funnier than Leno on his own show!!! Farouche... thanks for the pics... WOW!!! I RCAS so fast, I'm dizzy(er). JK is a good guy! I think we should all send PH cookies so he will eat and eat and blow himself up... no, I'm not rageful at all!
