Ten years and he still has me..watched several times and fell in love a little more each time..it was just so Clay. I love the intro..I think this is what Clay wants to be remembered for..Ten years ago he talked about the dreams he had and what he wanted to accomplish with his celebrity..today he came back to Idol and showed that those dreams came true and he accomplished more than he ever thought..full circle. No Gala for me this year..my granddaughter's first birthday is that week-end. Every year I think maybe this year I can make it and something comes up..I just don't think it is in the cards for me to ever attend a Gala. Unfortunately I think as long as Clay continues to do things in Raleigh that is going to limit the amount of fans that will be able to see him. And even touring can be limited depending on where he goes..so TV would be great..at least we would all be on the same playing field! 28 Days until Clay is on stage in NC! Sorry I have M.I.A...just crazy around here lately. My last daughter is moving out so packing and moving stuff; in the middle of a kitchen renovation so packing and moving stuff around..then throw Easter in the mix which almost wasn't because the power went out for a few hours. Thought we would have to grill everything and I have never grilled a ham..but about the time we decided to start firing up the grill, the power came back on and I was able to stick with my original menu. Had a great day, the grandkids were adorable as usual and it was nice having the whole family together. Probably be my last family dinner for a while since my kitchen will be gutted in a couple of weeks. Weather is looking up..60 today..yeehah! 33 Days until Clay is on stage in NC! We received Clive's book at the Library yesterday so I checked it out to read it..I was very curious, not just about Clay but about the man..very interesting reading so far and his life has some similarities to Clay. I am just through the first 4 chapters: He was the youngest..had a sister 7 years older than him so was a mama's boy. Did not have the best relationship with his father because he traveled a lot and cheated on his mother. His mother died when he was 17 and his father a year later..he regrets that he did not mend fences with his father before he passed. Both deaths left an emotional hole especially his mother's..he went to live with his sister. He went to NYU and Harvard Law School. Was a lawyer at Columbia Records and eventually became he head of the company. Has lots of allergies..food, feathers and dust. Suffered from anxiety attacks in his younger years due to his family situation, going to school at Harvard and being Jewish and dealing with antisemitism. When he was at Columbia Bob Dylan was putting out a CD and wanted to include John Birch Society Blues..Clive told him he could not because of liability issues..there were lyrics in the song that he felt could open them to a lawsuit. Dylan was not happy about it and the song did not make the CD. He divorced his first wife when his son and daughter were 3 and 5 and was a single Dad for a while..the kids actually lived with him because his ex-wife wanted to travel and find herself. Kim
