  1. Impossible Dream is sang so well.  Have watched it a couple of times.  Clay's voice is just beautiful.  He is looking good.

Got home from NC late Sunday night so yesterday had to grocery shop and do laundry.  Today did some work for the cpr classes I have to run on the 21st and now I am going to play euchre.  I know it is a Michigan thing.

  2. Got back from my bike tour and camping on Wednesday and had to work on Thursday so I am finally caught up on all the laundry and food shopping.  We rode about 260 miles and then stayed up North and walked the Mackinaw Bridge on Labor Day.  We walked from Mackinaw to St. Ignace and back for 10 miles.  On Tuesday we went to Mackinaw Island and rode 44 miles.  It was a beautiful day, almost 90 degrees with some wind.  We usually come home from our bike tour on Sunday so I have never walked the bridge.  There was 35,000 who walked.  Great weather.

Watched the interview.  They both gave great answers to questions.  I have to wait till January to see them.

  3. My concert is not to January.  A long way off.  I am going to the Gala(20thAnniversay) and will at least hear him there.

Tomorrow leaving to start our bike tour on Wednesday.  322 miles in 5 days.  Most days around 70 miles the shortest day is the last. Weather looks pretty good.  Most days in the 70's.  I am glad the heat is not my friend!

  4. Going camping/biking again for 1 week.  Leaving on Sunday.  Weather looks better, a little cooler.  Training for our bike trip on Labor Day week.  5 days of riding an about 70+ miles per day.  Mid Michigan not to hilly but from West Branch up to the bridge the hills are present.  Some of them work to get up!.

Merrieeee: Keeping you in my prayers.  I know you know we are here for you.

  5. Read the forward and he did a great job writing.

Home from our camping/biking trip.  We actually rode for 10days and today was the second rainout we had.  We decided to come home because it was going to continue to rain all day.  We actually did 400 miles.  Here is another picture of the scenery we saw.  We did a combination of trail and road.

  6. Leaving tomorrow for almost 2 weeks camping and bike riding.  Tickets go on sale for 20th Anniversary of NIP this week so I had to make arrangements for someone to buy my ticket.  Weather looks maybe ok.  Some days there will be a possible shower.  Will have to work our rides around it.  Need to do a couple of 60-70 mile days to get in shape for our Labor Day 5 day trip.  That one is 5 days 70 miles a day.  As we get older we realize that more training is necessary.  Back in 1973 at age 21 I did that trip on a three speed bike and had done a big trip of 25 miles before I went.  To be young again!!

  7. Been out riding our bike with friends a few times this week.  We went further north and it was hot, humid, and very hazy.  We did only 37 miles on Wednesday(and I go very overheated and took awhile to cool down), did not ride on Thurs because it rained most of the day, and then rode 38 miles Friday.  We had to be out of campground by 3pm so I am glad we did not to more. Today DH and I went out and rode 25 miles before it go hot.

My friend surprised me on the 27th.  My Gala buddy was going to buy my tickets for the concert at Macomb Center for January 13th when they went onsale on July 17.  I was going to be away on a camping trip and also my concert buddy was going to be in Pennsylvania that day. Another friend was a member and called her to say she bought her ticket when she purchased hers.  My friend than told her she was going to buy ours when she bought hers.  So her friend called the center since she had already left and ordered ours.  I was so grateful and surprised. Seats are great.  I know the person who bought the tickets but I usually do not purchase with her.  Clay fans are awesome.

  8. I will be going but will be at the $300 level.  Have my airfare and will be getting in on Thurs.  Last year we just did our own thing.  Staying so far in two different rooms.  If my second roomies decide to come in on Thurs instead of Fri I may not have to change. They usually get the higher price ticket.  I can not justify it even though I would love it.

gbmifan, I'm so impressed, such a long time in one job, but also, the job itself. My niece was in PICU for 17 days after she was born. They saved her life, and also her quality of life. 💜

But, unless you started your career as a child, you are around the same age as I am. You go on long bike trips and do ski patrol! I pictured you as much younger then me. ARGH!

Thanks everyone for the comments.  I will continue to work till I can not tolerate 12 hour shifts anymore.  My DH says I like going to work to get away from him! I do not work full time. I have been lucky I am still able to do the time.

  10. IDYJ: Have fun tonight.  You are going to love it.  Wish I could of gone again.  Any other year but this one because my DH was in charge of a banquet tomorrow and I could not leave him to do it all.  (He got the caterer I am doing most of the rest).  Party for 100 people is alot to plan but tomorrow night it will be done and my DH is termed limited in his volunteer job so we will not have to do it again. Bring on more concerts, I am ready!!

  11. Forgot to mention we were in a small bar off main street after concert.  I think there may have been 10 fans in there. Just as we were leaving someone put Invisible on the jukebox.  Fans started singing especially the three younger fans at the bar.  They were so cute.  The guys in the bar rolled their eyes but did not say anything.  Immediately The Way came on.  As were were leaving the guys went back to playing their country and western songs but it was fun.

  12. I had such an amazing time last night.  Both voices were great but Clay's stood out for me.  Every note was perfect and he still has it!.  He looked like he was having a blast on stage. I did comments to my concert buddy he is so pale up on stage.   I did not want it to end.  It was well worth the 5 hour drive for us.  I wish I could go to another but next week when the closet concerts would be can not be done with the schedule I have.  Never been to Newark but it is a cute town but they can take their roundabouts and shove them.  In the dark it is so hard to see what is going on.  Our GPS did not like them either.  We had a hard time getting back to our hotel which was 3 miles away because it wanted to take us to a closed entrance ramp to the highway.   Finally we did our own thing and it picked it up and got us the back way to our hotel.  Very stressful, dark, and it was raining.  Sorry not a great writer but you get the point.
