  1. You're very welcome! Sorry you didn't see it sooner. The whole hour was devoted to the topic. There were interviews with the Touhey family (all four of them), Michael, the actor who played Michael (he was not an actor before this movie and by the time he got the part was close to being evicted from his home), Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw and then another family who is doing somewhat the same thing with another young man (although he only lives with them during the week and then goes home to his Grandmother and siblings for the weekend). I thought it was a good show. At the end was an interview with Michael and you got to see a bit of his new house. A couple other people also talked, but I forget who they were... oops. It was good. If it's on again, it's worth the time. And what a great picture of Clay... I love that look!
  2. The show tonight about The Blind Side is 20/20. It's on at 9:00 pm CST on ABC (I think that's the right one). I heard that it's on from a co-worker and ran to set it up (U-Verse has a nice perk -you can set up from a computer). Makes it nice when you hear about a program at work and you don't have to remember to do it when you get home! I' m looking forward to seeing it. I enjoyed the movie quite a bit so it will be interesting to hear from the real family.
  3. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!! It's not the greatest day weather-wise (rainy/snowy) but I won't complain because I could live on the East coast! Yikes! Having a good day - lunch with the girls at work and some really nice presents from them. They're extra special people and I'm lucky to work with a group of really nice ladies. Happy Birthday to georgiesmybaby!!
  4. Hi Couchie! I know I've only heard Susan sing that one song that was from the show she was on. I watched it on U-Tube. I did enjoy it. Haven't heard anything else she's sung so don't have an opinion on her other stuff. I waffled about buying the album... don't have it... yet. We'll see. But good for her! I think it definitely says something other than everyone buying it is old or too stupid to download for free. A whole lot of people still don't think it's right to steal. I think that a lot of people still like a person with a good voice, singing a song with a good melody and they can actually understand the words and, to me, that has a lot to do with her CD selling so well. I say "you go girl!" I hope she sells a whole buttload more!! I'd laugh ALOT if she sold 3 million by year end! My guilty pleasure is Glee and I've bought both soundtracks - physical CDs, no less. I enjoy listening to them. They're fun, I can understand all the words, the singing is good and I know most of the songs. And you know, I'm sure kids would think I'm old and yet I do know how to download for free. I just choose not to. I like a song, I buy it. I guess I'm just from a different generation.
  5. I don't post often anymore (not that I ever did I guess! ) but I had to comment on this one! kf - you've said it all for me and quite perfectly too! So glad this board is here!
  6. Wow! That photo done killed me dead! spikesmom tries to figure out how to rob a bank (haha!) and not get caught so she can go hang out around the gala!!!
  7. spikesmom.... together???? O.M.G. Yeah... together. I like all three but I keep my dessert separate from the other two... And to the discussion du jour, I'm pretty easy when it comes to Clay and his music. I love to hear him sing - I'm just not that particular what he's singing. Do I love some more than others, sure, but for me, it's still the voice over the song. ldy - still loving the tourney - very, very hard some days to pick one!!!
  8. Yep. He gets to pick what he wants to sing... for me, the road is wide open. I'd much rather he be happy with what he's singing than not. And my husband's family - chocolate cake, polish sausage and hard boiled eggs...
  9. YIPPEE!!!!! Oh Happy Day!!! So glad to hear about the new label!!! And new music in 2010!!! And I'm also glad that he got to tell us before anyone else found it! Oh no, I LOVE that movie - will start watching it if I find in playing no matter where it is. Have you seen it on the Starz channels yet? I caught a version that was different than the DVD. It had more scenes! Sad, I suppose that I know this, but Shades did a stint on ER as Abby's brother, then was on a short lived series called Saved where he was a paramedic (it was on TNT I think) and now is on Southland (the show that took ER's timeslot).
  10. {{{{{merrieeee}}}}} After reading the answers to some of those questions, this thread title is PERFECT!!! Yeah, but there are going to be a lot of disappointed fans if the news is BAF related and not career news. Kim Yeah, so true. I've gotten really good at setting "low" expectations. Hard to be disappointed that way! And by low, I really mean having none. I'm pretty mellow about the whole thing and appreciate any news. Heck, I'm just happy he answered a few questions today! Hey ldyj - slide over in that Pollyanna car!! Almost forgot - love the tourney idea! Will log into the regular computer more (versus my iTouch) so I can vote more easily! Sounds like fun!
  11. Happy Birthday JMH and everyone else I missed in the last couple weeks. I've been trying to stay caught up on my iTouch but don't post from there. Had fun on Sunday with some local Clay buds watching the AI tour concert, NAT concert and Jukebox Tour concert - danged if I can remember what cities though.... anyway, watched on a BIG screen TV - delightful!! Oh, and a couple songs from the last Gala too... good friends, good food and Clay singing to us - can't ask for much more! Well... except maybe live? ;-) Oh, and SNOW? Geez... we've had an unusually cool summer here - which just means we haven't really had much heat and humidity yet but gosh, snow... ugh. Bummer.
  12. I kept reading the posts after beryl's post - I didn't go off to read her "goodbye" - and thank goodness. I won't bother now based on what it sounds like she had to say. Don't need to read that kind of stuff and {{{hugs}}} to those who did read it. I'll just word you all - don't understand people who need to announce they're leaving and then stir the turd at that. Hopefully she'll be happy wherever she ends up. Whatever. I love Clay Aiken and and :thbighug-1: luckiest1
  13. Kareneh - I love my Samsonite Spinner luggage too! One of the best inventions ever! Easy to move it along while walking with food/drink in your hands too - not that I've ever done that! cha cha - beautiful pictures - WOW! DVR'd The Tonys but haven't watched yet. The way things go, it will probably be the weekend before I watch it and we'll have moved on to something else... oh well... at least I know I'll probably enjoy it! 00lsee - so sorry you're under the weather... have a {{{}}} or two {{{}}} Get well soon! TimetravelerPax - what a great story... and wonderful memories to have! anna - gnocchi is a sweetheart! Things have been so quiet that I've been able to do a bunch of reading... just got done with a series of political thrillers by Vince Flynn with a recurring character, Mitch Rapp. Thought they were pretty good. Not too heavy (like Ludlum and Clancy can get) but interesting and good action. Off to jump into a Jonathan Kellerman from last year that I missed. Thanks FCA for making it easy to stay caught up without needing hours to do so!
  14. Day late and a dollar short! Happy Belated Birthday to clayzycoffin, 00lsee and jumpingjacks! Love that BF of ours!
  15. I must learn to "View New Posts" more often... I don't seem to go to many movies at the theater... don't know why because I enjoy doing it... but this thread would sure help me avoid some klunkers... I wonder if this is "My Sister's Keeper", a Jodi Picoult book that's being made into a movie? About a daughter who is conceived/born for the sole purpose of being able to save her older sister who has some disease I think... I read the book so long ago I forget what was wrong with her... The book was a tear jerker so if this is it, take a box of tissue with you. If it's not, then no idea what movie it is... you don't get to see many movie trailers when you don't hit the show house and you FF through all the commercials on TV...
  16. To be fair, the comments about Gokey weren't particular to Adam fans. Lots of people regardless of who they supported got into it. Sure Adam fans may have done it, but so did lots of others. Yes, which is why I said "some".... I know it wasn't just Adam fans. But what's good for the goose and all that jazz. They can't expect people not to be pissed about the Adam pimping since "some" of them were equally vocal about the Danny pimping...
  17. And I think that Danny knows a little of which he speaks. I saw so many mean spirited comments from some Adam fans about him and the pimping of his dead wife and going for the sympathy vote. Gosh, I didn't realize that he had control over what AI does/says/promotes. So just like some of the Adam fans don't want anyone to blame him for the over pimping, I hope they are a wee bit regretful about their comments about Danny.
  18. It was a great post and I read the whole thing...I didn't scroll once. I'm kind of lost on the PC thing. Clay said what that was exactly not PC? Did he call someone stupid? Did he make a reference to their colour? Did he say something homophobic? He just stated his opinion. Right? How was what he wrote not PC? 'Splain please? No, I don't think he was politically incorrect this time. But I ventured outside of here (I know, I know, BIG mistake!) and I'm referring to the comments that deal with him not being professional, he should know better!, he should have been more careful with his words, blah, blah, blah. That's what I meant about politically correct. He can have an opinion but only if he carefully words it so that NO ONE EVER (fat chance!) take offense....
