  1. Scarlett This is me too. I guess I like to actually hear the singing/words... going to see Rascal Flatts with my sis on Saturday and I'm hoping to hear them sing... no idea what their show is supposed to be like but since they sing a number of ballad type songs, I hope that I'll be able to hear them sing the softer stuff... looking forward to the faster, fun stuff too...
  2. Yay ldyj!!! You know how many times I've wanted to make this and didn't have the darn sour cream?! haha... I think I may have to bookmark that list!
  3. You know, I have no idea... I've only made it with the sour cream... won't pretend it's my own recipe - got it from our Company cafeteria back in the day when we had one... lol. Hopefully someone else knows if you can subtitute... sorry. :8:
  4. Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake Batter: Cream together ½ cup butter, 1 cup sugar, and 2 eggs. Add 1 cup sour cream and ½ teaspoon vanilla. Add dry ingredients: 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon baking power, ½ teaspoon salt. Mix thoroughly. Streusel: Mix 6-7 heaping tablespoons flour, 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon, ¾ cup white sugar, ½ cup brown sugar and enough melted butter (about 5-7 tablespoons) to get the right consistency for streusel. Add ½ cup chopped walnuts if desired. (Caution: too much butter causes the streusel to be crunchy after baking. It should not be “wet”, but rather, crumbly after mixing with butter.) In greased 13 x 9 pan, spread ½ batter. (Batter will be very thick and is a little tricky to spread.) Sprinkle on a little less than ½ of the streusel. Add some chocolate chips and “lightly” pat down. (Makes it easier to spread remaining batter.) Spread remaining batter, add streusel and chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes (check at 30 minutes, depending on oven – you know how temperamental they can be.)
  5. Hope it's ok to put this here... Hey Scarlett - here you go! Really easy to make and is extra yummy warm... Enjoy! 6. Except a lot of comments I'm seeing are admitting that once there's a reason to re-up, they'll be there like white on rice... and doncha know those are the folks that will win all those M&Gs too? Yes, I believe sometimes folks forget this... be careful what you ask for and all that jazz.... Having never been a member of any fan club before I had no clue what to really expect. I know I read the first time around what grand things we were getting with our paid membership and thinking "cool", but you know, after a little bit of time (like ten minutes with my memory issues!), I forgot about it... no biggee to me. I appreciate whatever we get and am happy with it. I'll re-up as soon as we can... I made a great chocolate chip coffee cake this afternoon if you're interested in a recipe... And muski - thanks for the Tara Janzen tip... I'm quite enjoying the Crazy books...
  7. Me too!! I'm easy too - if he's happy, I'm happy. I joined the OFC to support him. I really haven't given what some consider the lack of blogging much thought. Just doesn't bother me. :8:
  8. Well, you all have said it much better so I'll just say Hmm, maybe having no access at work all day isn't a bad thing. Keeps my posts shorter! Heh.
  9. couchie - glad to hear your Mom is doing better! liney - congrats!!! I'll take all the inspiration I can get as I'm week three into Weight Watchers. I've done this before so I know what to do, it's staying motivated, especially when I love pretty much everything in the food department! And most of it keeps calling my name!
  10. Couchie - glad to hear your Mom is doing better... {{{hugs}}} I've been reading along and getting my grammar lessons (which kind of give me the hives thanks to a 7th/8th grade English teacher that was not a good teacher - she was more Gestapo-like and terror inducing)... grammar has always been a weak spot for me... anyway, it made me think of something my folks used to tell me about when I was little (pre-school age)... they'd call for me and ask where I was - you know, "Cheryl Ann, where are you?" and I'd coming running and reply "here me are!"... so I guess I was destined to have poor grammar... I've always been a spelling freak and hate it when I don't catch my spelling/typing mistakes. And in my earlier internet days, I'd shiver every time something was spelled incorrectly. But I came to realize that it's probably two things - one, people didn't spell well, and two, they don't type accurately or three, they were rushing to get their thoughts down quickly and post and didn't even realize they did it. I'm a good typist and I sometimes don't even realize that my fingers are not cooperating with my brain! So I'm over it now. I might pause occasionally at some of the more blatant ones, but for the most part, I'm able to move on... I've moved on to be anal about other stuff - which does not include grammar. heh. The texting thing, though... claytonic, I had to read that slooooow... my son teases me because when I text him, I write everything out - takes me f.o.r.e.v.e.r... old habits die hard... it's a mind block for me for sure... whatever. Happy Friday all. It's still colder than all get out here... supposed to get above zero sometime this afternoon. And then a heat wave starts - we'll get into the 20's tomorrow!!! Pretty sad when 20 sounds good but I'll take it.
  11. couchie - {{{{{huge hugs}}}}} for you and your Mom... Freezing here too - below zero temps and the wind chill tomorrow all day and Friday until noonish are going to be -30 to -40 degrees... and then twenties up to thirties on the weekend... go figure. I hate winter.
  12. {{{{{{{{{{Couchie, Mama Tomato, muski and everyone else who needs it}}}}}}}}}}
  13. Hugs to those who need them - hope you all feel better soon!! Suz's Favorite Things is very nicely done! Well, clearly I was a fashion disaster today... dark brown V neck sweater w/ a lighter brown t-shirt under, blue jeans and black shoes. At least I covered all the bases!
  14. Lordy, I wish you could videotape that dream and show it to us--I would love to see that! Wouldn't that be some crazy karma?!
  15. I didn't mean for you to think I was giving you a hard time about the boredom issue. I was just responding to it even being an issue so soon. I guess lots of designers are using bow ties and vests in their new looks (or so I'm reading from those doing all the investigation!). But I also do believe he walks to the beat of his own drummer in that he wears what he likes, the way he likes. Sometimes, I think it might not be exactly what the designer had in mind. But I do think he mixes it up the way he wants to... And I totally agree about the smile! ETA: No problem tribeca! Good luck figuring it out though... after almost six years, I still wonder about people who stick around just to criticize and complain...
  16. What bugs me most about this is that he was dressed in very nice clothes. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but he wasn't dressed down. He looked nice and apparently is very trendy. So he's supposed to look like what each time he goes out? Rock!Star!Clay? International Superstar Clay? What? And WHO decides what those looks encompass? I'm sure not saying everyone has to like what he wears every time he goes into public. And there have been times when I thought he could have dressed a little nicer for a certain occasion, but some of that is my age talking and what was appropriate when I was growing up. I saw absolutely nothing wrong with what he had on last night. Again, not everyone's cup of tea, that's cool, but he WAS dressed nice. Gosh, I hope they're not bored. He's technically been gone one week, with a sighting last night. If those folks are already bored, it's gonna be a long rough patch for them, I think. I don't read over there either, which sounds like a good choice since I wouldn't have much patience for that stuff on his own fanclub board. I love that he dances to the beat of his own drummer. I hope he NEVER changes. Rock!Star!Clay be damned.
  17. Well, I can't narrow it down but I can pretty much guarantee that the tour will be sometime starting after April 4 and run however long the potential work stoppage runs at the company I work for... cuz I'll be stuck doing strike duty and won't be able to go.... havin' my own little pity party here... But in the spirit of not being a total PITA, I'll pick my sister's birthday, June 28...
  18. About feeling ignored... since I don't post much, I can't really say I feel ignored - if anything that would be self imposed anyway... I know sometimes I manage to say something witty enough that some comments but most often, not. And that's ok. I do spend a lot of time nodding my head, or just commenting in my mind - I agree, I don't, give me a break, whatever... and by the time I get here each day, a lot of conversation has passed by so I just don't bother... but I read every day. I don't really have many issues with how Clay looks... sure sometimes I wish he had looked in a mirror first, but I have enough trouble making sure I look ok in public that I can't get too worked up about how he shows up. I figure if he really gave two shits, he'd do something about it. I actually like that he just does his own thing whatever it happens to be on any given day. Good for him, I say. I actually think that shows a tremendous amount of confidence on his part - but that's just me. OK, this? if nothing else, would get my butt out of lurkdom... where the hell is the line and please tell me I'm not last! Although last would mean I can take all the time in the world, huh? KAndre - I'm loving your recap! Thanks for sharing!
  19. Yup, agree with you on this. Sardi's cheesecake was very good! I did enjoy the chocolate moussy type thing at Juniors though. Never got Google alerts - heh, didn't even know what they were - and I don't think I've missed much of anything - well, I didn't have clue about FBM but I guess that didn't show up there anyway... life is definitely much easier if I avoid the crap. I now know that there are people writing crap that would spoil my fun so I ignore them... And those virus things are scaring the crap out of me! Guess I won't be clicking on much of anything any more! My computer is already having issues and I'd like to avoid any more that I have no clue how to fix!
