  1. see, Clay really could do love scenes Thank you so much, cindilu, for that first calendar of 08 !! Gorgeous. Loved those ruffian pics.
  2. Cha-cha .... here is the main page for the Christmas shows and Bing's are the best sellers across the top Bing DVDs Many hugs and prayers, merrieeee. Love looking forward to Clay wearing that costume. Cracks me up though, that he found probably the only role on Broadway where he will wear more layers than he does in real life.
  3. Gosh, cannot find who said this earlier, as I sped through all these latest posts, but I agree that Clay will be "just as successful and as big a star as he wants to be." He is one ambitious, focused and directed guy. He may be broadly talented, but I think he is singularly directed. JMO, but I feel he wants to be in that exact place where God wants him, where all of his talents will be used to their utmost. I dont think he really knew 4 years ago just where that place was. Not sure he knows exactly now, either. It takes a lot of guts and faith to just put all your talents out there and see where it takes you. Titanium and full of faith. And, a realization that you have to "just ignore" (TMA CHA) those who may criticize, critics and "fans" alike. When I read comments from fans that Clay doesn't know his own musical direction, I think they are missing the point. Of course, he doesnt, he can sing anything, and he is on a journey that I think is endlessly fascinating to watch. He is teaching us as he goes. Cha Cha T ... you are welcome for the Bing Crosby DVDs link. Hope you find the one you want. Just back up through that site. He has lots of old specials other than Bing, too .... Martin, Como. I love the internet. One of my favourite old TV series was Brooklyn Bridge, and I was so excited when I found someone on a yahoo chat board who had DVDs of the whole series. I, like Clay, have a short attention span and would much rather watch DVDs of TV shows than an entire movie. Love that new banner :F_05BL17blowkiss: He just warms my heart.
  4. I have Nero pre-installed on my laptop that I use for burning. It has a button that will allow you to go online to the company website and download patches and whatnot, and I think I can also pay for updates. Does Sonic have a similar feature? Thanks bottlecap, no luck; there is a link and I can search DivX on it, but it doesn't link the DivX information with any of their products in any way I can understand (which isn't saying much). I'll go google...and then probably give it up. I have used this for several years with great success, and it was recommended to me by my computer geek DS and is also recommended by videohelp. You might just DL and see if it works for you K-Lite pack
  5. Taking that welcome below from liney23 and running with it :clay: Read pretty much everything here, post not so often. This is kind of my "sigh of relief" board to come to away from other negativity and nit-picking. I love to just enjoy Clay. muski... I agree with every single WORD of the above! I actually wondered, as the CITH tour went on and his hair got lighter and the glasses didn't go away and the sidburns came back if he wasn't seeing if we would still see him as sexy and appealing as Clayton as we do Clay. I wondered if he wants to be more himself/Clayton all the time, not just when he is UNICEFing or BAFing or lecturing. I mean, who knows what is in the man's head at any given moment, but he has kept the two separated pretty much by appearance these years. Wonder if he's just tired of needing to. Or, Clay may come back with a vengence when he does promo for Spamalot! WELCOME to the newbies/delurkers!!! This is the bestest board eveh!!! You know, if it was Clay's intent to merge the two (Clay/Clayton), he sure succeeded with me. I was all "Lord of the Manor" or perhaps "AIW" hair exclusively and gawd.no.sideburns................until he and Jamie pulled that slooooooooooowwww transition on us during the tour. And then he goes and hugs that little Mexican boy with that "newly blonde" hair and sideburns. I am toast. Thanks to Cha Cha Trusty back a page or two for that link to the blog with the David Bowie and Clay versions of Drummer Boy. Brian Cormier Blog I had been on a little bit of a Bing kick this Christmas and this was the icing on the cake for me. Had never seen the Bowie version. Boy, Clay's is so much better. Not prejudiced here, but truly, Clay did not drown out Bing and dueted so, so well with him. I have always loved Clay's duets anyway because he is so gentlemanly about sharing and what results is a true duet. Love that man ! The first song on that blog........I will Capture Your Heart......is from the movie "Holiday Inn", whch I just bought this Christmas. It is a kind of sequel to "White Christmas". IN my searches, I also found a website that sells DVDs of Bing's old Christmas shows. This one is from the year he died and includes the Bowie duet: Bing Christmas Specials wonder if Clay has some of these OK, enough rambling. Hope everyone is enjoying their time off !!
  6. Well, I have no idea if the two are connected, but I sure am enjoying it. And even more, I am enjoying seeing him out and about in NYC especially knowing that he really enjoys the city. I am not nosy (well, actually, I am ) but I like these non-descript random sitings by the paparrazzi since it allows my imagination to run wild about just WHAT is he doing in NYC this time ?? I rather enjoy making up my own mental images of him hanging out with Tyra or Mike Nichols/Diane Sawyer, or he and Jesse working out arrangements for the Christmas music, or meeting with RCA folks about the CD, or busy in rehearsals for Spamalot. Guess I have a boring life..doesnt take much to entertain me. And, Kim, even if roger's new job and this new clack are unrelated, I am breathing a lot more easily since Oct. 1. Cannot pinpoint why, but the guy has always creeped me out.
  7. I just watched Inside Edition on an Atlanta station, and Clay is shown giving a little wave ........ and looking very happy and hawt !! They first have a good segment on Jenna, the book, show clips of the little girl, Ana, the subject of the book. Then the voiceover is that there was a launch party where Clay Aiken was seen hanging out with the three Bush women. Just a great mention for him. It was shown in the first 6 minutes.
  8. I just adore that he went to this party and he looks so happy to be there, that I am just going to have to forgive him the hair and the way he looks a bit ill-at-ease. I just think the guy dislikes getting his picture taken in forced situations like that. I really cannot think of any red carpet pics that I have loved of Clay. And he has said how he dislikes photo shoots. I have often thought our concert pics are the best ones because he is so comfortable on stage performing. and he just glows when he is with children.
  9. Oh, OK, the question was how has his VOICE evolved I think I need to study it more and I have plans to do just that ...hehe! It seems to have more character, more nuances, more power. It is not as "bright" as it was 4 years ago. But then, his voice was different, to me, on the demo songs when he was much younger. Do all men's voices go through changes like this ? I think I will just stay around and see how his voice changes over the next couple of.............decades !! Love him.
  10. I think the next question has to do with Clay evolving over the last 4 years, and I kind of tie it in with the 2nd question on whether he should be a superstar............. and oh, what Scarlett said I want him to be Clay Aiken. I believe he has evolved, alot. I think his own goals have solidified and probably downscaled a bit. I think it was always important to him that he be his own man, and now, really since last fall, I feel like he has decided just what that is. I love how he is now because he seems so comfortable, so confident in the way he sings, the way he performs, banters, puts his shows together .......... yeah, I think he is kind of proud that he does NOT rehearse much. He knows that his strengths are in being spontaneous and he can fly without a net with the best of them. He knows this and is brave enough to do it, to test himself, stretch himself and succeed. He has done this amazingly well the last two tours. In some ways, I think he likes watching Clay Aiken evolve, testing out this talent that he has. I love it, too.
  11. Play, he mocks...love it. He does.... he really does a good job when he does make a statement. But I think by doing it so rarely it gives him credibility. Aaaaack ......... I almost missed this discussion ! Love what you wrote, CT. I completely agree with you, especially that bolded part. I dont know if he has purposely addressed the tabloids so rarely, but for whatever reason, I do think it has been a very effective strategy. I would think that the trick to all of this is to reach the right audience with the rebuttal. I used to tell my boys that they only had to say "excuse me" as loudly as they had burped so only those who heard the transgression would also hear the apology ! Clay also has an amazing ability to mock when he should and be serious when it is needed. The LKL appearance was needfully serious ............... the AMA appearance by our Lord of the Manor (sigh....loved that look) was mocking because the Kripa rant had been ridiculously over-the-top. His mocking pointed that out to all.
  12. Big word to this, AAinTX I kind of look at the shipping as fan fic. I read it for fun and enjoy imagining just what Clay's real life if like. But, I have no idea what his real life is like, and I dont think I really want to know. I tend to stay away from boards that get too invested in finding out all the details. I really enjoy fan fic better ! He is a wonderful human being who deserves his down time and deserves fulfilling relationships. I am a fan of his because it entertains me. That's about it.
  13. I think my fandom has evolved !!! because if I had answered this "blowtorch puppy" question back in 2003, I could have come up with several things. And....if I had known back then a couple of the things that I have stayed with him through, I may have predicted those things would have ended my fandom. But....now I have seen the amazing way he has handled all of these things (the mess, the mandated CD , to name two) and my love/respect for him have just grown. So that now, I cannot envision anything that would end my fandom for him. Even if he stopped singing and ran for office ........... I would probably move to NC and join his campaign !!
  14. My first post :eusa_whistle: Not sure whether Clay is my hobby or my addiction. He is probably my addiction and I wish he were my hobby............if hobby is something you do for fun. As far as time spent, I spend as much time as I can afford and my family can tolerate. I kinda get the shakes when we are getting ready to go out of town and I know I will not be able to spend my usual amount of time online. So, if that is a sign of an addiction, and I think it is, then, yes. This board is so fun, you guys !! I have loved the Seussical posting today and I love the respect for Clay shown here .
