  1. nah....thats just an urban myth YAY-slowly but surely working his way to me- all part of my master plan (which I just made up)....mwuhahaha!!
  2. Thanks Bottle!! I discovered the show was being aired before its advertised premiere so I hit that record button pretty quick-smart!! Is it weird that I am waiting until I have no child or hubby related distractions before I actually watch it? I think the first Clay sighting on my Aussie TV deserves my full attention! :twinklewhore: On a more sombre note, those pictures from Japan are freaking me out. I know people who have family there. We have many Japanese people at my work. My prayers are with them and the small nations at danger from tsunami. They are still pulling people from buildings in Christchurch. My son is supposed to be going there on a school skiing trip in July. I don't want to let him go anywhere near a fault line. I think I will just cop it as a mean Mum and follow my gut on this one. He is 16 now so there will be time soon enough for him to traipse over the world while his family worries at home.
  3. Thanks for all the well-wishes guys!- I love to hear about snow! I soooo want to be in NY going to that concert!!
  4. So excited for you all who are concerting and meet & greeting! I don't know if any news of our latest natural disaster has reached over there - cat 5 cyclone "Yasi". It was roughly the size of the UK. It made landfall in the far north, battering some of the poor buggers who just cleaned up from the big floods. Some towns were completely evacuated and we have quite stringent building regs around cyclone proofing so the newer homes were not quite so bad and I have not heard of any confirmed deaths yet. The electricity situation (and possibly water) is expected to be quite dire for a few weeks yet. I am thankfull that the only effects we have felt here are crazy temps and humidity. Some say we have been lulled into a false sense of security because only a few bad cyclones have made it to land in recent years. I think we Queenslanders have well and truly woken up now.
  5. Hi Goldarngirl, yes I will be able to record it, but I don't know about pledges or anything. I haven't seen anything like that here, usually it is just a replay of the concert or whatever.
  6. :twinklewhore: :twinklewhore: :twinklewhore: Thanks Bottle!! I am now out of breath since I saw your post, started grinning like a maniac, ran to the TV room, and checked if "Stvdio" channel was one of the ones in my TV package. :yess: :yess: :yess: :yess: :yess: It is. Still grinning like a maniac.
  7. Congrats Aikim! There is nothing like a new baby. It's eerie here today. Bright sunshine, high heat and humidity, and yet up the road the river is rising and is expected to peak tomorrow.
  8. Thanks. No I don't know spicey. I hope she is safe. I believe there are 18 towns evacuated so far.
  9. I don't know if any news gets to the US of this but: I remember posting a while back that it seemed my country was on fire, now it is flooded, and there are still bushfires in the west. The floods are in the east, in Queensland and Northern New South Wales. I am in Qld but in a non-flooded area, about a 45 min drive from the latest area to be evacuated. My land where I am hoping to build is one street away from a river but I haven't heard anything about it so I suppose thats a good thing. There are 8 confirmed deaths and 72 people unnaccounted for. Toll is expected to rise. There was a 2.5 metre "wall of water" rush through a nearby town, completely unexpected and killed a mother and two kids whose car was swept away. I have been watching the news and want to cry.Hope you all don't mind me sharing my (wet & still pouring) world.
  10. Hey I think I'll look into Sparkpeople too. My New Years resolution, which I usually avoid, is to lose weight. I just can't avoid it any more! Also yesterday I booked a beach holiday for April, so there is nothing like the prospect of having to don a swimsuit for motivation!
  11. I may be wrong but I think he did the role in Caberet that Joel Gray originated. I don't know. You are right Fear. He was the MC in Caberet in London and then NY in the late 1990s (? - Don't quote me on the time) He won a Tony for it. He is a bit fab and quite versatile - can you tell I'm a fan? He is quite outspoken on LGBT issues and other things as well. His role in the good wife suits him well, he does a good baddie! I think that Clay could be quite convincing in a bad guy role.
  12. Happy New Year all! Hope your celebrations were safe and happy and a sign of a good year ahead. We celebrated at a local waterslide park, cheek by jowl with hundreds of others. They showed a family film and had balloons and whistles etc which the kids enjoyed. We left well before midnight and I slept through the big fireworks on TV! Next year I hope to go back to the beach. A lovely spot, not too crowded, and you can see the 9pm fireworks all up and down the coast. Then home before the midnight madness. We have had two dry days after many many rainy ones. Areas to the north of us are flooding as well as some of the southern states. Whole towns have been evacuated - in some areas they say they are having their "once in a hundred year flood". We have been forecast for a very wet year but I sure hope they are wrong - hard to have a house built in the rain! Our plans went to the local council for approval just before Christmas so I am hoping for a start when the builders get back from holidays on 10th Jan, fingers crossed.
  13. Wishing everyone a Merry and Safe Christmas from the (not very) Sunny Gold Coast, Australia.
  14. Congrats Aikim! I think half the battle is gaining the confidence so you'll probably ace the next eight as well! I'm so sorry jmh- I would reply to you but I am distracted by a scrolling fixation. Bottle! Well thanks a lot! Now how am I supposed to concentrate on my house building paperwork with that photo calling out to me!!!
  15. Lovely photos Bottle. I haven't seen any of those before, that last one is really good - seems very natural looking.
  16. Yeah Liney, I can just see him in an apple add. I have heard that when songs get used for TV etc it can make megabucks!
  17. I would hope that you make all new employees undergo rigourous and lengthy training - day & night if necessary.
  18. Me too! Lets see if we can think up some surprising things - one of us may just turn out to be right! My most surprising thing for Clay would be: A featured role in Circe du soleil......... (I'm sure thats not spelt correctly but you know what I mean?)
  19. So cute...but can I just slap the makeup person for ignoring Clay's natural skin tone? *SLAP!!!* There, I feel better. ITA OOlsee! If they were going for a different colour then they should have taken it down his neck too.
  20. I am looking forward to this movie - am an Alan Cumming and Stanley Tucci fan and that Christina can really sing! Like someone else we all know -Happy Birthday to Clay.
  21. Hi FCA!!! I don't have access to OFC but the news of a blog mentioning Aus has, as you can imagine, blown me away. I was in the middle of yet another frustrating House building (or rather not house building) day and this news brightened me up no end. Last night, instead of waking up and imagining the worst about the building situation, I turned my attention to the important questions: 1: Will he actually make it all the way here? 2: If so will there be a concert or performance of some kind? 3: Would I be able to go to said performance? ( what a silly question! As long as I'm upright!) 4: How to organise all the local (well on the same continent) fans and have Cluncheons! and Clackaramas! and Clarties! and Clet Togethers! and Clafternoon teas! 5: How to stop talking in exclamation marks!! And starting every thing with Cl!!!! These are now the important issues that keep me awake.
