  1. Have to chime in with my hair colour story. I'm 42 now and my first grey hair appeared when I was in the teens. Premature greying runs on my mom's family and of course I got it. I was totally white (not grey, white) by the time I was 38. Sigh. If I leave it natural my face skin colour looks horrible next to the white hair, so I do get it coloured by a professional. I don't like dye so she does some sort of a rinse, that is very slow to wash out. It's much cheaper and easier on the skin/hair than dye and we've chosen a colour that hides the white roots fairly well.
  2. Didn't Faye say somewhere (maybe on that cruise?) that we could expect some exciting news (career wise) in August? I guess this was it!! I didn't get to Spamalot for the first run.....I sure hope I can get there this fall!
  3. I can't be the only one who left the hospital the same day after giving birth? Son was born 4 yrs ago ( 1 was 38 ) - fairly quick, unmedicated birth (5 hours of labour) and went home about 6 hours later. I can't sleep worth a darn in a hospital and had a horrible time with that after the birth of my daughter 7 years ago. I stayed 2 nights after she was born and I don't think I slept more than 3 hours the whole time. My son attended his first and only London ON clunch when he was less than 3 months old!!
  4. Luckiest- that's great news about your son!!
  5. Luckiest - loved reading your recap of the concert!! What a neat thing for you to share with your son!! This is very OT - I was wondering if anyone here as seen the movie Mama Mia? I know my 7 yr old daughter would love the singing/dancing, but I wonder if the content of the movie is ok for a 7 yr old? I'd appreciate any thoughts on the subject.
  6. I'm way behind on reading, but I wanted to say that I just love the current banner!
  7. Favourite Clay songs: If you don't know my by now - I hope we get to hear that one in concert sometime! As long as we're here - Love the message in that song. Love the celtic sound and I still get emotional when I play it. Oh Holy night - 'waves' to Luckiest1 ! Non Clay songs: Hallelujah - KD Lang, The Boxer - Simon and Garfunkel Boys of Summer- Don Henley I've really enjoyed reading everyone's responses!
  8. I just LOVE the smiling Clay pictures! Whatever is going on with IIT or IIU or whatever, I just want Clay to be happy and smiling like those pictures.
  9. Is there anyone else here (other than me) on dialup?
  10. Luckiest - I appreciate you posting the links! Thank you. So sorry to hear about your cat's vet bills! OUch!!
  11. For those who attended the Christmas Kalamazoo concert in Nov 2007, I thought this was a neat post from Claymatron from the Claynadian thread on the cb. While I was working yesterday, a couple came in to pick up a bottle of wine. They were heading into Toronto airport to pick up her 88 year old mother who was flying in from Florida. I didn't ask them why they were in Stratford, but I'm assuming it was for the Festival and when they paid with American money, we asked where they were from. They replied Kalamazoo MI and I, of course, said I had been there in November for a Christmas concert because I was a Clay Aiken fan. They looked at each other in amazement and proceded to tell me that she was the Director of Business for the Kalamazoo Communities in Schools and that they were the recipients of all the books that were donated by Clay fans on his birthday. They are setting up a special area of the Library and calling it the Clay Aiken Book Center and they were thrilled with Clay and his "Claymates", just thrilled. The BAF apparently sent copies of "Our Friend Mikayla" to all of the schools in Kalamazoo, and that too was a huge hit. Talk about a small world. She asked if I was one of the busload of Canadians who came to the concert and, of course, I said yes, and that we had all contributed books too. She then come over to me and gave me a big hug and her husband shook my hand and told me it was a pleasure to meet me. Wow! What a great experience. Talk about fate, if I hadn't gone into work on my day off, I would have missed this wonderful encounter. Just made my day and put a lot of things into perspective for me.
  12. Hi Alspaz!! I'm lurking because I'm waiting in dialup he** for the aol sessions to buffer/play. It's not looking like it'll play on dialup
  13. Love the conversations about first concerts! I grew up up in Northern Ontario and travelled to the big city of Sudbury to see some concerts while in high school. All were Canadian artists and some have faded away to obscurity now.....Platinum Blonde, Corey Hart and of course Bryan Adams! The Sudbury arena back in those days only had general admission, so I rushed the stage with all the other teenagers and stood for too long a time, squished and sweating and screaming for these 'cute' singers! Ah....... the memories.....
  14. I'm currently downloading the Billy Bush interview on dialup.....1% done and 1 hour and 45 minutes to go. Good Lord!! Cindilu - I'm so glad you're back!
  15. I also need help with a Walmart cd from the US with the bonus exclusive track.
  16. EEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee The amazon video even works on dialup!! The first time through it stopped and started and had 'loading' across the screen, but once that was done I could play the whole video. I'm so happy!!
  17. Iseeme- I love that song also....do you like K.D. Lang's version? It's beautiful! I remember meeting you at the JBT in Toronto. You were sitting with cindilu2 before the show at a picnic table at Ontario Place. All these bonus tracks here, there and everywhere.....I wonder how many different songs we'll get...
  18. I'm getting caught up here as my dialup got all stuck on the new counter up there under the banner and I couldn't get anything else to load!!! Thanks to Luckiest1 and Couchie- I'm back here. Thank you!!
  19. Idyj- enjoyed your recap! fromclaygary- how are you feeling? Is the banner new? Wow, it's lovely!
  20. I haven't listened to anything yet and I'm not going to. Being on dialup helps with that choice, but even if I could I don't think I would. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this board. My home thread on the cb has already started up with RCA angst about promotion and other stuff that we don't even know about yet.
  21. Thank you so for all your posts! I have a meeting in the next few weeks with my son's jk teacher, so I'm hoping we can work some stuff out there.
  22. I'm looking for any advice I can get regarding my son. He turned 4 in November, so he was supposed to start JK last Sept, but he wasn't completely potty trained so we kept him home for the fall ( he went to nursery school 2 mornings a week) and he mastered bathroom stuff, and started JK in January. I've heard so many things about 'fall boys'- they have a hard time in school because they're slower to mature than girls. That sounds like my son. He has no interest in holding crayons, pencils, markers. When he does he wants to grab them with his fist, instead of holding them properly with his fingers. We're trying to use a pencil grip to show him where his fingers are supposed to go. Books, unless they're filled with dinosaurs or construction vehicles, are of no interest him. He's has speech delays and goes to speech therapy, but his progress is very slow. People who don't know him well have a hard time understanding him. He lacks confidence in his talking because people are always asking him to say stuff over. I feel badly for him. He seems 'young' for his age, emotionally and socially, and I can't help but worry about him sometimes. At school the he's been evaluated (as much as they can in JK) and it's been noted that he's delayed in speech and fine motor control, but at this point the plan is to 'wait and see' how he progresses over the year. I would love any thoughts or advice people have. thanks
  23. Does anyone know if the AOL interview thingy is on Clack Unlimited yet? The wonderful world of dialup won't let me view the video on the AOL site.
  24. OMG, kill me now...check out the cd cover!!! http://www.amazon.com/New-Release-2008-Cla...ef=pd_rhf_p_t_1 sorry I don't know how to post it here.....I'm sure someone will do it soon!!
