Last year I bought a big box of little chocolate bars for trick or treaters completely forgetting that I'd be in Austin on Hallowe'en. They were some of my favourites...Snickers, Mars bars, Smarties. When I got home from Texas I did eat some and then realized that unless I got rid of them ASAP I would eat them all. So I took them down to our local food bank.

Thank you for your suggestions re not being able to get wireless at the Sheraton. It seems that no one can and the only way to connect is through the ethernet cord which is a bit of a drag when there is more than one computer in the room.

preden and i need some help. we are at the Sheraton and cannot connect to the internet either wireless or cable. Anyone else has this probem and has a solution?

Here in Raleigh with preden and we are figuring out what touristy things to do tomorrow. Can anyone tell me in what museum are Clay's clothes?

As my grandkids would say," only one more sleep". Then I'm winging my way to Raleigh. Have you seem the weather report for Raleigh? Yikes I was so hoping it would be sunny and warm but it looks like rain and cold. I packed 3 weeks ago to come to be with my mother in Ontario when the long range forecast was for sun. I knew there was likelihood that I'd might be leaving for Raleigh from Toronto instead of Vancouver and I am. So now I'll be wearing my Gortex rain jacket over my Gala dress...not the greatest look! And I'm so excited about seeing Clay and being with friends and meeting fans that I hope I can manage to sleep tonite!

Let's see...#2 a photo I have always loved of Clay, a lovely smile, twinkling eyes, really cute. I react to it the way I would to a great photo of my son when he was that age but there is something about #1 that really attracts me in a way that is definitely not maternal. So #1 it is!

Why doesn't that surprise me? Would you list some of them? I'd like to know about them. ldyjocelyn How right you were. It is getting much harder to choose. Even though these photos were taken before I was a fan, I know them, have seen them so many times, and they have elicited such positive responses in me. How to choose? Finally I have to go with #2. It's the smile, the obvious joy in his face.

Good morning FCA. There is nothing like a grey, cold and rainy first day of the last long weekend of the summer to say that the end of summer is here. Granted we really need the rain but damn it, not the last long weekend. Enuf of that. This morning the CANN has which is your favourite Clay in stripes photo. I recognize all but #2. Can someone tell me when and on what occasion it was taken? Clay in Stripes

Congratulations...how great to be recognized by your Cooking through the Cookbooks peers. During my everyday life I get reminders of Clay. I hear a song on the radio or in a store that he has sung, being sung by someone else and think of him. Read something about UNICEF and relate it to his work with UNICEF. I think you know what I mean. So yesterday I am in Costco for the first time in months and walking thru the television section with all its huge flat screens and on everyone of them there is James Taylor singing..yep..and I don't even know if it is one of the songs that Clay has sung in concert but it still reminds me of young Clay on his Solo tour. And there I am with probably a goofy grin on my face, pushing my cart through the aisles dreaming of the time I will see him again and wondering when he will be on concert tour again and just off in another world..Clay world. And here I am sitting in my nightie after 1000am writing this instead of taking advantage of the weather and getting some gardening done. Obsession? Oh yes. On another note, I am still looking for an appropriate dress to wear to the Gala. I do not like clothes shopping but I have been to so many stores and have found nothing, nada that I like and that's before even considering the price. The colours in the stores!! Red and purple which I can't wear and black, black , black. Dull, dull, dull! I hate that once again that the fashion world is offering such a narrow range of colours for the season.

OMG!! Now that is one beautiful body. Not one I would like to lay my head on, mind you. I prefer something just a little soft. But I do admire it.

I have to go with #2 although I do love that beautiful boy in #1 I don't have the same associations with it, not even knowing of his existence at that time. But #2 Lordy...definitely. I remember the eagerness with which I downloaded the Clack from that nite and my glee at how the audience let Clay know how much they disliked Kathy whatyever her last name is. Ah those long legs, that suit, the hair, his in charge demeanor. Sigh! #2 #2 #2 YES.

Also for any Leonard Cohen fan, he will be appearing at the Asheville Civic Center on Sun, 11/01/09

Although I am pulled to vote for #1 partly because that look is closer to the way Clay looks now, I have to go with #2. That smile, his smile was so beautiful. It touched something in me whenever I saw it and there I would be, sitting at my computer, with a big grin on my face.

Thank you for the photos bottlecap and FromClaygary. I wonder if this man is an agent or PR person. It is good to see Clay looking well and happy. I am pleased for Clay that he has had his jaw problem corrected. I love this man and his voice but....I got imprinted with a different face and I look at him now and really, it is taking me a long time to get used to this new face. Despite all the changes brought by maturity, hair style and weight loss or gain, the basic structure of his face didn't change, now his face has a different structure and I just hope that soon, please soon, I will look at a photo of the new Clay and consider it as beautiful as the pre surgery photos that have been posted in the FCA Photo Tourney. Call me shallow if you will but if I can't share these thoughts here, where can I?

Lotus, Did you get the numbers mixed up? It sounds to me like you are describing No 1 as being mature with the ecstatic look. Yes, indeed I did. That'll teach me not to post before finishing my morning second cup of coffee!

While #1 is so appealing and while this photo of Clay made my heart flutter when I first saw it 3 years ago, I have to go with #2. The image in #1 is of a man child, a young one with whom I fell into a, at first confusing, stew of maternal and lustful feelings. Now he has matured, he is a man who has gone through many physical changes and will never have that delicate almost frail look again. Also I love the almost ecstatic look on his face in #2. As for the nose hair...the man is hairy...we love his stubble, what is one little nose hair? ETA phooey! I guess my second cup of coffee hadn't kicked in yet...of course I got the numbers reversed...#1 #1 #1
