  1. And I am excited because I can finally listen live or on demand!!! Starts at seven, right?
  2. Love the thread title!! Still have to finish BOLD--busy day. He looked so good--always love his facial expressions.
  3. I said I was adding it to my "must read" list. Didn't get a like. Do you think she knew I'd be going to the library for it and not buying it--LOL!! I've read quite a few books because of Clay--latest was "Bears in the Street" and I am on a waiting list for "Hillbllly Elegy" Also want to read the Jackie Robinson one. I love that last segment of BOLD where they discuss books!
  4. I agree, ldyjocelyn. The "gay" is always the headline for Clay. Didn't care for the write up. Was that the best they could come up with? ..offered a contract even though he didn't win. ...gay ...political opponent died Good grief!! If I hadn't followed him all these years, I'd think he was just a run of the mill has been from reading that article. I hate to think of what my life would be like if I had missed out on all of the excitement that is CLAY AIKEN!!! He will be forever fascinating to me. That man has so much talent beyond just singing and being the "runner up" on AI2. He still has that X factor and will be forever linked to the success that AI became.
  5. I LOVE this picure!! Looks so much like he did on Idol. The years have been kind to him--just keeps getting more handsome!!! What a great interview.
  6. Good to see you here, Sectman!! Just made my last post on CAT. I said I wouldn't say good-bye--would just say see you again. Hope others will join you here. It's great being back on this board after so many years. Looking forward to many more years with all of you and with CLAY!!!
  7. This made me do some research which I always enjoy doing. According to Snopes, it is an urban myth and radioactive things don't actually glow. But, when I checked another source, it explained that even though the radioactive substance doesn't glow, it "imparts energy to nearby phosphorescent or fluorescent things and they glow". Close enough for me!! And now I get what Nancy Pelosi meant. https://www.thoughtco.com/do-radioactive-elements-glow-in-the-dark-608653 Good God!! Do you have any idea how difficult phosphorescent and fluorescent are to spell!! I had to keep checking the article!! Hope I did them correctly. Thanks, ninna!!!
  8. I feel really stupid. But, I didn't understand what the "glow in the dark" statement meant. I know Clay loved it--just didn't understand it. Glad I feel comfortable enough here to ask such a question!!
  9. Just finished watching BOLD. When the show started and I saw him, he just took my breath away. I never took that phrase literally--but, I actually did gasp!! The combination of the sweater color and is hair=perfection!! Once I could concentrate, I thought the content of the show was very good. He is so at ease and in his element!! Will be rewatching this one for sure!!!
  10. Is this Walsh guy saying he doesn't believe in insurance? Wanted to tweet a response to him--but it looked as if I was saying it to Clay, so I deleted it. Wanted to ask Walsh and the one who agreed with him this. If they needed a procedure that cost $200,000, are they saying they'd just pay for it themselves?? Tweeted to Clay that he had a way with words and just painted such a picture!!!!
  11. Just another example of Clay's modesty. Taylor talked about subway ads--large pictures of stars covering the subway cars, etc. He was not familiar with that concept, but must have known about the bus ads. He could have mentioned that his picture was plastered on the buses all over NYC during Spamalot, but didn't. I still remember the picure of a fan in a black coat and red gloves hugging the bus with his larger than life picture--with the AIW hair. (I think it was Cotton.)
  12. Because we already had Sirius in our car, I was able to get the app for my iPad and listen to the replay. All I had to do is put in my user name and password. It didn't even cost any extra $$. Should have done this weeks ago--thanks for suggesting it, ldyjocelyn. Now I am wondering if next time I can listen live. Will have to try.
  13. I can't listen since they stopped putting the replay up. Have Sirius in car, but cannot play on iPad except when they did the replays. Cannot download on computer from CV vault--it's messed up after Windows 10 got downloaded. So if anyone can summarize what he said, I'd love it. Thanks in advance !!
  14. I liked Seacrest when he was on AI during Clay's season and I loved seeing Clay on his show when he was there with Kelly. But, I seem to remember him being on someone's show with Simon and maybe Randy and totally making fun of Clay. Am I remembering correctly? Does anyone remember this?? If I am wrong, I owe him an apology. But, I guess he has done just fine without me!
  15. He looks really dreamy in that picture. Wish I looked that good when I am sick!! I'm trying to figure out if it is a selfie. Must be--doubt he'd want to expose anyone. He's beautiful hair color even goes well with the dog!!
  16. I hear ya about the weather. Here in New England they say if you don't like the weather to just wait for tomorrow--it will change! We had 80s and humidity a few days ago and last night it was in the 40s. Gbmifan mentioned watching Victoria. I never finished watching the last episode!! It's stil on the DVR. I am probably one of the few people who didn't think it was all that great. I did get the book "Victoria the Queen" by Julia Baird after watching most of the PBS series and loved it. I think my problem with the tv series was that I really liked the person playing Lord M, but did not care for Albert at all! I didn't realize that there would be another season and will definitely give it a try. Wondering also if I might enjoy the series more now having just read the book. Could be, too, that it just wasn't as good to me as "The Crown". Canfly--you sure do know how to make the board pretty!! You brightened up a gloomy morning. Just realized it is May 1--where the heck did April go!!!!!????
  17. Yep!! Here I am back again after a few years away!! Always loved this board and happy to be back. Couldn't get in last time--no longer had the right link. So, thanks for posting it, ldyjocelyn. You mentioned The Handmaiden's Tale. Have never read it and think I will try it. Another book I want to read that was mentioned again on BOLD today is Hillbilly Elegy. Wonder if anyone here has read it? Will miss our other board and hope to see some familiar faces here. I am one who is enjoying Clay on BOLD and even though I miss his singing, I hope he succeeds with this new career path. He's just so darned good at it. I find I love hearing him on BOLD and other shows.
  18. Just stopping in to say, "HI"!! Was "talking" to ldyjocelyn and found out that this board is still active. Love seeing my old avi of stage door Clay. I remember coming here when Clay was singing for that skating show in Las Vegas---2007? So much has changed since then, but here we all are--still following that talented, fascinating man!! (I am Rhode Island Fan on CV and CAT.)
  19. Even though I am not a big fan of Celebrity Apprentice, it actually does make me feel better--just to know that I am going to see him on my tv! DH and I are headed to Raleigh on Tuesday-the trip was planned and paid for long ago--couldn't change plans when the new Gala date was announced. It'll be a bit weird to be there at the Marriott on the 22nd and know that Clay is in NYC!! But, the good news is that we are already planning another trip next year to Charleson, SC and I'll get to go to the Gala next year. Gosh, you don't think the date would get changed two years in a row, do you?
  20. Haven't stopped by this board for a couple of years. But, I'm still here for Clay! Was supposed to go to the Gala--had the ticket five minutes after they went on sale--but, date change won't work. Already planning to go next year instead. I'm thrilled about the new song and hope it does well. The man needs to be heard!!! Cannot wait for January to hear it for myself.
  21. Oh, Smitten!!! What wonderful news--congratulations!! (RIFAN--AKA srifan and Rhode Island Fan) aikim, It just made my day to know that "Without You" was played in Walgreens. BYW--Clay has had 8 spins over at yes.com today.
  22. I've been thinking about this "phenomenon", and the only thing I can come up with is the "can't live with or without him" syndrome. I also think that perhaps those who are having the greatest difficulty is because they had made Clay the center of their universe, whereas I think that most fans were able to move forward because they already had/have a life without Clay and Clay is the bonus, he enhances their life but he isn't their whole life. That's the only sense I can make of it because really, in a way, Clay is to some sorta like what Elvis was to his "crazed" fans in his day. To this day, there are Elvis fans (some OLD ladies!) who really DO think he is still alive, and those who accept he is dead, have shrines and Elvis special days etc. I consider it harmless, as long that it doesn't affect Clay or anyone else in a negative way. Carolina Clay that grandson of yours is indeed absolutely adorable! Snark alert!! OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Say it isn't so!! You just spoiled it for me--that's as bad as saying there is no Santa Claus.! How dare you call ME an old lady? LOL
  23. I have subscribed to the CANN and get an email alert when something new is added. Have read everything on it and am very impressed. It's about time good, factual information got put out there by fans who care and are willing to take the time to do it. I'm sure it's a lot of work for them. There is a recent article from CANN that was also posted on the OFC. It's called "Together We Make a Difference" and tells some of the work that is being done by the Bubel/Aiken Foundation that you may not be aware of. Very impressive. Have to say that it really p*sses me off to read that some are actually being warned to stay away from it. I am the kind of person who would just wonder what would ever motivate someone to say that. If you read it, you will see that there is nothing wrong with it at all. I hope I don't get in trouble for saying that it's a good site. There are boards out there that will not let anyone even mention it. Something is rotten in Denmark and I am not sure what it is since I also do not have all of the "backstory" information.
  24. yes...and the other way around...my best friend in high school was the geekiest guy you'd ever meet, and when I first met him, I had my eyes on his brother and I didnt think that he was good looking, but halfway through the year, we became very close and he became so handsome to me..because he was so kind, and his heart made him so good looking.. suffice to say, we arent friends anymore, and he physically has become more attractive lol go figure. Yep!! Pretty is as pretty does!!! Beauty is only skin deep!!! It's what's on the inside that counts! Although those are all such cliches, you get the idea.
  25. Not a big poster here, but had to come somewhere where I could read something that made sense to me. I, too, am tired of the nitpicking and bitching!!! Why is it that every time that man does something wonderful, some boards end up arguing over it. I joined his fan club to support him and I will continue to do that, but some of the people over there make it awfully hard. But, I figure if I quit that OFC, then they have won. Nope, not gonna happen. Clay needs to hear from happy fans on his fan club, not just those who cannot be happy with anything he does or says.
