Not much to work with in the way of resolution so it gets grainy if I take it much larger. Did anyone else get a load of the length of that thumb? I think that this poll has shown two things. One, what you just said. Clay hasn't lost as many fans as some people think. Two, that his fans can still band together for something...albeit not anything particularily profound this time. That's mature. I gotta say that I've been proud of 99% of the fans that I've seen voting for Clay. It's all been rooting for Clay and no bashing of the "opposition". From what I'm hearing, the same cannot be said in return. I fail to understand the need to bash another performer. For those sick of hearing about the poll... Gala's in a month!

Just saw this: My only concern before was that people might be getting scared away from voting due to something picked up elsewhere. I did see the pop-up early on re: my computer being infected. I see pop-ups like that all the time when on sites looking for song titles, etc...when playing in games threads both here and at my board. I just rolled my eyes and did ctrl, alt, delete as usual...no harm, no foul. Apparently, that pop-up is likely what Strummer clicked on. Mea culpa. Uncle. Yup. Never click "cancel" or "don't install" or anything like that in a pop-up like that. Evil people wanting to install something nasty on your computer aren't going to give you a button with an option of opting out I did a bit of checking. From what I understand, those pop-ups have NOT been appearing for several days. What does Caro say? Once again, that type of virus can't hurt you if you don't let it. Never click within a pop-up window warning you about your computer being infected. That's the bait. Never click on anything within one of those pop-up windows, even if the choice is "delete" or "don't install" or anything like that. To be completely safe, don't touch the pop-up window at all. Close it out at the bottom of your task bar with a right click and delete if you can and if not, then control + alt + delete and then end task. Never download an anti-virus or anti-spyware program that seeks YOU out. That's a huge red flag. It's easy enough to close out the warning window as outlined above and then go open up your anti-virus/anti-spyware program and run a scan. How'd I do? Am I keeping out of trouble today, lol?

re: Kalan...still not in the same ballpark as Clay vocally but damn, he's talented. I just discovered that Kalan was on there and have started voting for him also. He's down pretty far. He only has like 1400 votes. He's behind Justin Guarini. There's something decidely wrong with that picture. Can I do that about yesterday? She was sent home from the hospital with painkillers and a tube stuck in her to drain the crap from the ruptured appendix out. Stubborn wench went around with a ruptured appendix for 3 weeks before seeking a second opinion at a hospital. No way they can operate until they clean it up with antibiotics. I haven't heard from her in 3 days and it's not like the post-ho to not post, so that means she's in bad shape. I've likely been a tad more touchy this week due to Back-to-school stress and worrying about her. Apologies. Not sure if I'm supposed to be posting this publicly but ah well, she can suck it up. D) I love hanging around with clueless people. It makes me feel snart and all. I do like the OFC thread. It's 99% positive and is all about rooting for Clay and there's no slamming of the "opposition".

Close your eyes Aikim, lol... I think that's what's intriguing to me also. Obviously Clay and Adam are the only two Idol alums in the poll, who have a REALLY devoted following of fans (yeah, OK...obsessed, lol). Today, they both have over 100,000 votes and have left the others in the dust, so to speak. I think that it's reassuring me in some way because there has been a lot of talk in the past year about how many fans Clay has lost and I have to admit that it concerned me as far as concert tours. I guess this is showing me that even thought he's been out of the limelight for bit, Clay still has a big enough following, to keep him neck-and-neck for top spot with the current "hot item". Wherever Strummer picked up the virus, I personally don't believe that the virus came from clicking to vote for Clay because Adam has over 98,000 votes and Clay has over 97,000 votes, to say nothing of all of the votes other candidates have... that's a ton of voting going on with no issues. OFC has a 280 page long Twitter Wall cheering thread and they've been voting like maniacs. I still think that it's entirely possible that Strummer caught the virus prior to going to the Twitterwall cuz viruses don't always hit instantaneously. If it's only one person who's gotten hit by a virus while that page was on her screen, when there are like 300, 000 votes on the wall, then I gotta think she picked the virus up elsewhere and it just happened to take effect when she was on that page. I just asked in the OFC thread if anybody has encountered any problems just to be sure though, OK? My security actually isn't set up all that high. I lowered the defences down to minimal for about 2 years because I couldn't access the CV ftp folders to upload clack. I recently had to ask for help re: lowering the defenses so I wouldn't get the script message every time I wanted to post link on a messageboard, so I wouldn't say that I'm THAT computer savvy but I just plain don't click anything that I don't know what it is no matter what site I'm on. You can always run a scan with your anti-virus and anti-spyware program once the pop-up is gone. I've had "a threat has been deleted on your computer" messages pop up when clicking on links that I got from a google search looking for lyrics to songs, etc... FYI: Smiley Central is spyware. Short version: 1. Do NOT click on anything in an unfamiliar pop-up window, especially sudden "Your computer has been infected" pop-ups. 2. To get rid of the pop-up, hold Ctrl and Alt together and click the delete button at the same time and then click "end task".

I haven't really has time to post much. I've quickly skimmed most of the last 10 pages I think over the past week. I've been mega-busy and stressed with back-to-school and worrying about my stubborn cohort with the ruptured appendix. Still very worried. Me too, lol. Please when you post this link will you post a simple warning within your post for those who may not be aware of a possible problem, and instructions on what to do should a problem arise. Sorry, I wouldn't know what the problem is as I've never seen one...and I think you just did. Tons people have been to the Twitterwall site and I don't know of anybody else who's had a problem. Are you sure it was the Twitterwall site that caused the problem? I've had it open whenever I'm home not too busy and have voted on and off for several days with no issue. I'm not obsessed with Clay winning or anything but at the same time Clay is so close behind Adam at this point, I'd hate to see Clay not win because of people avoiding the site due to fear of something was been picked up elsewhere. Maybe you've already answered this but I was pretty time strapped and stressed to the max earlier when I saw the reference and I forget what your answer was if you did answer. I know I get pop-ups from time to time with a false message about a virus. it's easy to tell it's fake because it's not from my spyware/anti-virus program. If you do get such a message, close the window out if you can and if you can't, don't click anything within the pop-up box, even if it says cancel. Some of you probably already know about it, and some of the photos have been published. A professional photographer who lived nearby and went to the site to take photos was killed when the second tower fell. He had taken a lot of digital photos which were recovered via the memory card. (His other cameras and the film were destroyed.) The story is here: Bill Biggart's Final Exposures, and you can see some of the photos here: photos. They are in chronological order. Here's a photo of his effects, including the cameras. It's a sad story, but on today, for me it's also important to remember the courage so many showed on that day, and his story helped me do that. Thanks for posting that. I've never seen his pictures before. Kind of surreal that he took them and all of that was going on before the second tower fell and he put himself in the line of fire so to speak. Also surreal is just 30 seconds ago, the twin towers flashed on my screen because Independence Day is on.

This is not being the place for a serious disagreement because the tourney is supposed to be about having fun. Most people in here make comments about their reasons for picking one picture over another and what they like/don't like about certain pictures and that's all I was doing. The canfly hates the bangs thing has always been a joke of sorts. No need to pick apart each other's words and make it all so serious. I've always owned my opinions, BTW. ETA: Muski It's now more of a running joke that canfly hates the bangs...in fact I used to have a title at a couple of places that said "offishul bangs hater" and BTW, merrieee's opinion sux, lol. You know how much I despised the whole bangs looks with the passion of a 1000 burning suns (or something like that),lol. The yellow is to let you or whomever know it's something that prolly you don't wanna read cuz it ain't gonna be positive. I just find the yellow easier to do than the spoiler quotes. I do. He allows them to primp and preen him for albums and public appearances all of the time and that's certainly not the way he walks around in every day life. With his cowlick, there's no way that look with "stay in place" for any length of time. I'll take cowlick any day! I meant no connotation to do with "fake clay" in any way and it never even occcurred to me because I had no interest in following any of that shit. It was a professional "image"...and the ATDW look and the ATDW promo look was just one I never cared for. There ya go. I actually and seriously went through a really rough time after the AI5 appearance because I got slammed pretty hard elsewhere for saying how much I hated the look. I wasn't attracted to that look at all. I honestly went through a pretty down time there. When I felt for Clay on AI2, it was a whole package (heh) kind of thing...like Glady's Knight said...something magical about his look...and the...VOICE. Then I discovered what a witty son-of-a-gun he was and it was even better... ...but when I lost the physical attraction part in May 2006...that was hard (shaddap Treenuts and Muski). Oh and then they threw a bunch of cover songs at me that I didn't really like and yeah...that was a bit of a rough time for me as a fan. It took old JBT pictures and JBT clack there for awhile to keep the fires burning. The KTLA appearance was the first where I went THANK GOD!!! He still has a forehead! Right now Cindy's going...

We've voted on all of the pictures that you're seeing but we're into "play-off season" now. Winners pitted against winners. I do think that the gravity defying Clay WAS pitted against some ATDW bangs promo picture of some sort last time also. Missed yesterday's poll. This was easy cuz I'm the one person on the planet who totally hated the ATDW bangs look. He never even looked like Clay to me. Always looked like some "fake guy". The jeans were always nice though.

I've come across those fake "your computer has become infected..." yadda yadda...message on all sorts of different sites. I don't even click the X, I just do ctrl, alt, delete and end that task. Not really a risk as long as you don't buy into clicking bogus "your computer has become infected" messages. I quoted some other stuff but copied and forgot to paste and then copied something else cuz I'm too tired, so screw it, lol. Treenuts, ya gave me a laugh though, lol. I survived "back to school" and really only have one PITA in the class.

I can do it for you. Most people burn mp3s for CDs. You can also use a wav file. Some say the wav has a better sound, but if the original is an mp3, you aren't going to improve the quality.
