  1. I'm working fulltime these days and don't get to keep up like I'd like to...but I will be at the Gala Saturday night if all goes well! I have a ticket but I'll be at a wedding in Florida Friday night!
  2. I just wanted to say hello this afternoon to everyone at FCA, especially the ladies I met for the first time and the ones I "re-met" at the Gala...and the ones I missed since I couldn't come to the breakfast!! I don't post much but I read here everyday and enjoy the conversations and especially enjoyed the photos of Clay contest! Hope to see some of you at GFI and "on the road with Clay" next year! Libby
  3. I am heartbroken that I'm going on vacation and will miss almost a week of picture voting! This is SO much fun! And that #1 may be one of my all time favorites! Hmmm....after the contest, maybe we could post individual #1 or top 5 pictures. Thanks for doing this!
  4. Long lost new member checking in! Saw FCAers at the Gala but then I left right away for Chicago to see my first "crush" Brian Boitano in Frankie Valli Tribute on Ice...will be on TV NBC this Sunday. It's great! When I saw it was cindilu2's birthday, I had to add my best wishes! So great to see you for just a second at the Gala! Happy Birthday....AND
  5. Ah, yes. This is the gif you're talking about. Gulp! It looks like Clay hasn't gotten over his love of Ms. Mic Stand. Here are a few newer gifs: You left out a Verra Verra important part of the CH conversation! Something about a part of a man's anatomy that is roughly 3 times as long as his thumb.....Looks about right to me!!! I've been AWOL this weekend, had to work! A necessary evil! Looking forward to heading to NC and the Gala Thursday afterwork. I'm also late to the colorology conversation. My color is tangerine!! I can't believe it! I hate orange!!! And all Georgia Bulldogs here in Athens, GA hate orange because our biggest SEC rivals wear it! I DO, however, like the fact that I am "inquisitive, talented and independent"! Have a great week! Hope to meet lots of you this weekend!
  6. College tuition talk! Makes me shiver! I don't have much of a 401K to lose these uneasy days but my two sons graduated debt free from college. Every family is different but I really wanted to give them that undergraduate education if possible. Good luck to everyone making plans and balancing finances! Visited the OFC today. Trying to drop in every now and then and post something funny or supportive. I wish the OFC had started right after AI2. I just don't feel at "home" there like I did instantly here. Loved the techno dance video of Clay noises! Loved the enormous P.... song, too, and the socks and sandals discussion. This picture seems appropriate for both! Back for more tomorrow!
  7. Thank you for the shout-out! I will be at the Gala! Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the brunch. My friend's plane leaves at 11:40 am to Dallas so I'll be heading to the airport then. I will see some folks at the CV dinner Friday so hopefully they can introduce me to more FCA folks at the actual Gala. Atlanta is the home of Airtran and I use them all the time. We love Airtran because they keep the rates down on the routes they fly. Off to see if any stagedoor reports!
  8. Awwww! Me too! Yep, it's got to be an IPG. Or an ICBG - Involuntary Clay Baby Grin. Hee - ICBG. Perfect! Gotta admit, the boy has got him some musical genes! Yep, he sure does! Oops, we were talking about Parker, huh? Thanks for the "Tarheels" info! I never can remember who said "God bless the Tarheel boys"....George Washington or Robert E. Lee so I interchange the stories! LOL! And sometimes it's Tarheels and other times Tar Heels. Love all the NC ladies! I've lost my traveling companions after Clay's coming out so I may be asking to join you on that hopefully potential tour! The ladies coming to the CV party...come give me a hug!
  9. HippoGA....now wait just a danged minute, here! Tread carefully....I'm from Demon Deacon country! GO DEACS! Sincerely, Muskifest, Proud Wake Forest Alumnus! What a small world! I have to share a funny story! My hometown is Salisbury, NC. My grandmother and mother took me to Wake Forest for a college visit. As we parked, my grandmother saw a single solitary beer bottle behind a bush! She looked me straight in the eye and told me I should not go here, that I should go to "the university"! LOL! I've only been back to Winston-Salem once since then...for the Independent Tour! I will always be "A Tarheel born and a Tarheel bred" but I'm also very loyal to the University of Georgia...they sign my husband's paycheck! Clay content? Remember when he thanked us for "spending our money to see him" and "spending our husband's money"?!! Money well spent!
  10. Had a fun day catching up here! Random thought..."Run to Me" was my ringtone, now it's "Right Here Waiting for You" which I consider kind of prophetic after Clay's "news" since I'm not going anywhere...except where he is as often as possible! I have not posted at the OFC since his People cover. Told him I'm proud of him and proud to be his fan. I have lost some friends from the fandom. I hope we can stay "just friends" but our reason to see each other is gone for them. AND he is looking mighty fine at the stagedoor. This UNC girl (well, I WAS a girl once!) loves this picture! I don't think I'll be able to attend the Gala breakfast. I'll be taking my traveling buddy back to the airport around that time. Is anyone going to the CV dinner Friday? I sure hope I get to meet some of you! Off to download the "Catchy song".....
  11. Hi, this is Libby (HippoGA). Alas, alack, my roommie's plane back to Texas is leaving at 11:40 am so I'm pretty sure I'll be leaving for the airport at just about 9:30 am Sunday morning. I will try and stick my head in and say "hello". I really want to give cindilu2 a hug and I bet I recognize more faces, too.
  12. This screams thread title to me! And I'm getting a lot of enjoyment out of this picture!
  13. Thanks for posting that ad! I bought a NY Times Sunday ($4!) but it did not have a "Clay ad". It had Stephen Collins and Drew Lachey in it. ' Glad that the members impacted by the hurricanes are all accounted for. I don't really have an opinion on whether or not Parker and Jaymes will be in NYC with Clay but I do hope he has some sort of "official" comment on the new addition to the family because I think anyone who interviews him as part of Spamalot promotion will ask! I realize that Clay may not do any promos this time but I sure would love to see him.
  14. Just saying hello from Georgia! Just got back from a trip to NYC-talk about bad timing! Going the week BEFORE Clay! The Shubert Alley just didn't look the same without the "Clay Aiken" sign! Can't wait for reports from THIS WEEKEND! Wish I could be there BUT I WILL be there in December. Went to see "Young Frankenstein" and enjoyed it. Not grand theater by any means but funny and some good female singers. I watch most every play these days with an eye for a part that Clay could perform. He is so great at comedy. Wonder if we'll see a dramatic role one day? Good luck with the iPod! My old 30 GB one is full. Whenever I add anything, I have to delete something! Talk about a "catch-22". I have to "delete" something Clay to "add" something new. VERRA VERRA hard to do! Hope the midwest fans are doing fine after Ike roared thru. I was flying standby home and I had to spend an extra night before I could get on a flight. AND don't forget I'm a TarHeel, too, and have a brother at the beach so if you North and South Coastal Carolinians get together, let me know!
  15. I'm not "shipping" Clay with anyone these days....but that doesn't keep me from enjoying these "bedroom eyes"! And the story behind my little gif/wink with Clay? Someone behind me yelled at Clay that he was wonderful in the play except when he was supposed to be dead. Clay turned to me, winked and said "Who asked for her opinion anyway"?! Mr Snark. So cute! He was beautiful that night at the stagedoor! I don't go to the OFC often but this is my siggie there. Hoping the storm has no ill effects on our members! Didn't cotton mention alligators? She's not kidding!! Here's a sign at Orton Plantation near where she lives....and the reason for the sign, too! Have a great weekend! Go Bulldogs!
  16. New member HippoGA checking in. I'm going to the Gala Oct 18th and Spamalot Dec 17th and 18th.
  17. Cotton, my little brother lives on Oak Island! And one of my bridesmaids is a special ed teacher there! What a small world! Hope the lighthouse and the whole region has no serious storm damage! Another hair-dyer checking in! "Better living through chemistry" is my motto! I thought that I would stop dying it when I turned 50 (that was my mental age when gray hair was acceptable! LOL!) but I look totally washed out with the gray so back to the bottle for me! Best $6.99 a month I can spend! Clay content-he is the king of hair dye! And I submit the best Spamalot gif of them all...I swear he winked at me first!
  18. Thanks for the welcome! I have a friend who makes Spamalot bears. I took my first one to Spamalot last Feb and had Clay sign it.... Then she decided to make me a Sir Robin hippo since I collect hippos so that's my avatar. Here's my entire Spamalot family! Flat Clay has been to some pre-parties but wasn't at Cary last year. So sorry for the loss of an iPod!!! I have a small 30 GB one and I'm at the point that to add something, I have to take something off. DELETE Clay!! So hard to do. I also have an external hard drive. I had a computer crash several years ago and I'm somewhat pyschotic! I have to have at least two copies of all clack that I'm saving! LOL! Funny to read about "first day of school" stories...our schools started weeks ago! They want to finish exams before Christmas like college so they have to start earlier than after Labor Day. Love the snack cake discussion! Don't forget Little Debbie's!
  19. Happy Labor Day! Hugs to our folks impacted by Gustav! Thanks for old and new friends saying "welcome". I know I'm sometimes a little "scared" to jump into a linear thread but I'm feeling "home" here! RIFAN- Just wanted to say hello!! You may not remember me, but we spoke in line as we were entering the Shubert on May 3 for the afternoon show. You showed me your bracelet with the hippos and explained your screen name to me and I recognized the screen name from CB. Hello again! Some of my braclets were in an online story about charm bracelets in the Charlotte Observer. They used this picture: Saltywaterdog! HELLO! Hi, Hippo! Long time no see - like Atlanta and SC - JBT. Still hang out with Flat Clay? Yes, Flat Clay is still under the bed! BUT I don't get to many meetings of the local Georgia fans so he's not been "updated" lately. I did have a slumber party at my house in July and he had a great time! He did get to a Christmas party last year! LOL! Thanks again for the welcomes. AND BettyJean, love your blends! Right click and save!
  20. I went to bed smiling but am a bit grumpy this morning! Heading out to work-hospitals don't shut down on the weekend! Stay safe all! This is one of my absolute favorite picture of Clay. Love that musician in the background! "Whenever I see your smiling face, I have to smile myself because I love you......!"
  21. Adding my concerns for our members in the gulf area. I also hope that the storm's intensity will weaken before it makes landfall. Thanks for the "welcomes"! ...and love this hair!
  22. sometimes a tender smile like this..... and sometimes just giddy happiness.... I'd like to also say that I loved the play Wicked, too. I saw it in NYC in 2005 when I saw Clay's JNTII at the Beacon Theater. We're trying to decide what else to see when we see Spamalot in December. We have front row seats on Wed Dec 17 and Thur Dec 18th and want to see something "Christmasy" on Tues Dec 16th. There's talk about a stage version of White Christmas that sounds fun or we may see the Rockettes. Probably we'll see whatever's available half price....or knowing me, I'll be doing SRO at the Shubert! LOL!
  23. Thank you for the welcome messages! I have only been a clack gatherer ONE time....but it was a good one! I took the video at Norfolk during the 2006 Christmas tour which includes Clay dancing with his mother and the Bridget banter. It was a riot getting it online-I mailed the tape to one fan who sent it on, etc. but I'm glad we have that concert in our "archives". And so neat to meet annabear again! WOW! I'm so glad to find you again. I am the only Clay fan who has ever done "community service" to see him! I did health screens at at NASCAR race and got a free trip to Dover where he had a benefit concert and sang the SSB. Met anna in the ticket line with another lady who became one of my best Clay friends and traveling buddy! I will be posting....I'm usually not shy! LOL!
  24. Another newcomer checking in! I read through the "check in" thread and was glad to find that I wasn't the only one who didn't know there was a FCA message board! I've used this site for years to find information but never noticed that "forum" topic at the top of the page! BUT today I saw the link to the new Spamalot pins and found "my way here". Thank you so much for letting me join! My home board is the Clayboard and I'll always be a member there. I have a group of dear friends on the Calling All Clayfans section. I also belong to CV. Don't post there very often but I do attend many of their parties since one of my best friends belongs there, too. (We're Brian Boitano fans from way back and can't believe that we were lucky enough to find Clay, too!) My Clay fandom can probably simply be described by one of the thread choices we're voting on...Clay just makes me smile! I'm a big Broadway fan, too, and I love the lines from South Pacific about love that go "Who can explain it, who can tell you why? Fools give you reasons, wise men never try!" I enjoy Clay's music and humor and as much of his life that he wants to share with me as a fan. I have a little bit more personal reason to be grateful to him-my parents died within 6 months of each other in 2003 and 2004. Clay was a really bright spot during some hard times. My mother would have loved him! She would have "eaten him with a spoon" as we Southerners sometimes say! I'm a proud NC Tarheel currently residing in Georgia. Married with two grown sons. A microbiologist by trade. I'm pretty sure I met cindilu2 at Spamalot this past February. We had fun waiting in line to buy me a SRO seat! And I recognize other names. I'm going to the Gala and to Spamalot Dec 17th and 18th. Hope to meet some more of you then! I may not post much but I'll be reading and smiling!
