  1. Today an associate came in to the office and told me about his new twins. His wife loved the name Clayton so they decided to name one of the babies that. Well it's a girl so they spelled it Klayton!

One of my friends went to the hospital last week. She is 41 and pregnant and anyone over 40 is high risk. Her blood pressure was 180 over ? and she had problems with her liver & kidneys. They told her if the BP did not come down they would have to take the baby! She is only 25 weeks!

She had no clue she was that ill, just swollen feet and a headache. Toxemia creeps up on you. Luckily her BP is coming down and they are making her have complete bed rest for as long as she can and no stress! The only cure is to deliver. It was literally life threatening for her.

It made me think of Jaymes and hope everything is going well.

Yup ...lots of possible complications. Lots of care needs to be done. So I am sure Jaymes did this because she really really wanted a child.

  2. BREAKING NEWS!!!

Just got a call from Muski. She and MuskiDaughter #1 are on I-5 between Portland and Eugene, OR. They kept losing radio stations but finally got one of those STAR stations. They listened to all the usual suspects - Leona Lewis, Maroon 5, Daughtry, Clay Aiken....

    WAIT!!!

Clay Aiken???????? She said she found herself staring at the radio in disbelief as she heard the strains of OMWH coming out of a radio!!!!!!

It was such an unusual occurrence that she just had to call and tell me about it!

**Sigh** I guess I'll just have to enjoy the excitement vicariously. Heaven knows, pigs will fly before its heard here in the greater Philadelphia area!

But I'm glad someone has heard OMWH on the radio!

Great news!!!and hey its not the middle of the night!!!

  3. scarlett what a way to find the silver lining.... :F_05BL17blowkiss:

speaking of juicy plums there is this really different plum that hubby bought in the store...a pluot...never saw it before but the color is strange. Inside its blood red ...outside its a mixture of olive green and purple. BUT it is very very juicy ...and sweet. I bit into one last night and almost ruined my shirt since the juice was all over me.

What is very popular here right now is wild strawberries. Apparently its for sale for 80 bucks a gallon. They are really wild people go to fields and stoop for hours picking them (pretty much like people working in the rice fields). They are small but very very sweet. it can take close to 3 hours to pick enough for A jar of jam...but it is sooooo good.

so have fun eHP and couchie...looking forward to your reports...specially about food.hee

    take lots of pictures!!!

  4. Now I know why we get more visitors when we argue fuss and fight :hysterical::hysterical:

Isn't that the truth...I know I got curious too

Anyone up for Clay's horoscope this week from OK Ragazine?

In an ideal world you'd be jetting off to some exotic destination, but even if you're staying close to home, life won't be dull. You're at the center of an exciting controversy and you'll gain from it. And the meeting of the minds leads to a powerful physical attraction.

Hee....that seems appropriate IMO. But of course we don;t really know whats happening with him.

I really get very good horoscopes from Igoogle, almost eerily accurate at times. Couchie, I don't know if you should read ours today...hee

couchie!!! can't wait till you get here at 6am tomorrow/jk. we were giggling at the conversation today where you kept starting out to ask "so what time... er... so where... uh... but when..." and finally said "oh, forget it. I'll show up at your hotel when I show up". Don't you just love the way we live by our guidelines?!!

    ... snip ...

Solo was v. tired since she flew in after midnight and so she was knocking glasses off the table, ending up drenching PerusingOne's pants with KAndre's Bellini. We boarded the ferry back to SF just at sunset so we ended up having a "Sunset Cruise" at a special price (see pic in the member area).

    ... snip...

Thanks, fear!!! We're going to spend the day with couchie so I'm sure we will! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Yeah I just give up on trying to figure out what I'm doing. Was trying to drag along my lurker friend but she's got things going on and I think the "guidelines" would kill her. Maybe Sunday if we do something in the city.

SOOOOOOO Can Solo have the wet spot designation now. please please please. I nominate Solo.

And as long as I don't have to provide directions or any other California knowledge..I'm good :hysterical::hysterical:

AWWWW I wish I was there. This is bringing flashback of last year when we visited YSRN. I remember how hard it was to find parking but it was still a fun day.

Couchie next time I;m in SF we have to do that buffet...YUMMMM

must be some sort of funky moon tonight..even my SYTYCD thread at TWoP was freakin' locked for the night. Guess I should go to bed since I have to get up at dawn apparantly. But need to wash clothes. what to do what to do.

I think I'll go watch funny Clay clack again!

From my window last night the moon looked pretty orange too...is that significant???

  5. treenuts, I'm in the same car with you on the rumors. In the beginning I actually believed it more than I do now and until Clay addresses it one way or another, I have no clue if its true. Also don't feel that the rumors will affect him all that much in the long run. I just keep going back to the Angelina Jolie case. She has made some weird choices in her life, at least I think some are weird, like the whole blood vial thing for instance. And she has admitted to things that would have destroyed some stars but she doesn't try to justify her decisions to the press or public, and for the most part she seems to have ignored the trash the media/tabloids constantly bring up. But even though I know an awful lot about her, true or not, the things that stick the most to me are her humanitarian efforts and her love of children. Plus whenever I have seen her in interviews, she seems like a really nice and smart woman. Now none of this respect on my part came overnight. It took awhile to overlook the crap and so now, I'm actually more interested in seeing her film work than I was previously, and I think that is how things will wind up being with Clay. Those people who have mainly been exposed to the crap will eventually hear some of the stuff that Clay does and come to respect him and become interested in finding out more about his projects. And since I feel like he is in this business for the long-term, then I feel we will see more and more people realizing how great he really is.

Boy, that was a long paragraph. Hopefully someone here will be able to get to the end of it.

I totally agree. Gone are the days when scandals ruin an artist career as a matter of fact...at times it has helped people get buzz. I believe that Clay's talent and hard work will win out.

Angst in other boards about Clay...part of the pattern. People need to talk about something so they will deconstruct Clay...people don't get their Clay hit...they worry and fret. I just ignore them cos they will never change. I think its some people's way of relieving boredom...or to keep the convo going. Unfortunately boards just get busier when there is some controversy. Its human nature I guess.

  6. Yup CG...no argument in what you said whatsoever.

I do believe part of owning what you do and say is accepting the consequences of your words and actions. Not everyone will agree and they will say so...thats great. Some people will get offended...that's life. Just move on.

I never worry or change my behavior because of haters. The post of mine that was used by haters was a story about my cait and her reaction to Clay. she is the one other clay fan in the family. Someone took that and other posts by mothers to illustrate how we neglect our children. When someone told me that...I just shrugged. Pond scum's opinion does not matter to me...the people that listen to what he says does not matter to me. Never bothered me and didn;t make me change one bit.

  7. I don;t think NFNS is on in Canada yet ...but its coming.

I also hated Flay after that Iron Chef episode...but still haven't changed my mind...I do watch throwdown cos he loses there a lot. I loved it when ing Tsai beat him handily in the duck battle.

Deen...I always liked her cos I though she was down home and sweet. I am curious to see if she will also turn me off.

Top Chef is on its 3rd episode here in Canada...spike is sooo arrogant and Richard looks like he will poop his pants at any time...hee

I am curious to see how white chocolate and wasabi taste like. We often mix sweet and spice and salt flavor in Filipino cuisine.

great discussion...wish I can join in...I will just WORD Jamar.

ITA...we do have fundamental differences here...and one of them is that I never forget that this is a public forum and that most of what I will post will be read by people that don;t really know me so I'm careful and have often chose to just keep quiet about things if I have nothing really good to say. If I do want to be bitchy and rant or just whine and complain I can do that on IM with couchie of ldyJ...hee

I learned a long time ago that the only thing to do with fundamental differences is to accept it...not fight it, and understand where the person is coming from and agree to disagree.

  9. Got into a philosophical argument about music with my son yesterday, before he headed off to camp overnight. He wants me to take him and his BFF to a concert at Darien Lake (Clay content) next month- a dual bill of Slipknot and Disturbed. (shudder) Being a person who likes to "rank" things, he asked me which of those two bands I liked better. When I told him I don't like either of them, he told me to name another singer that I like, besides Clay, and that he would tell me which one of them he liked better, even though he doesn't like their music. Then he told me that the only reason I don't like his music was because it's too "heavy", and that the singers swear a lot. I agreed that those are two of the reasons I don't like his music. This led to a discussion on whether there was any swearing in any of the music I listened to- and I had to admit that occasionally there was. This led to my searching for songs on youtube of some of the music I listened to "back in the day", for him to listen to. He cleared out of here pretty quickly, but I spent most of the rest of the afternoon pulling up old forgotten songs that I haven't listened to for years. It was fun.

OMG slipknot and disturnbed? hee they have songs on guitar hero...I just spent the last 15 minutes trying to finish stricken byy disturbed on medium level..got through ...barely. But that song is pretty cool...loved the rhythm and the melody. But tough one to pass on GH. I also remember the name slipknot but don;t recall the song and if I liked it. Playing guitar hero made me realize that I kinda like rock music...even some of the really heavy ones. I think at some point I was just conditioned to dislike heavy metal. Just like rap and hip hop...I just think I dislike them but when I give them a chance I end up liking quite a bit. Not going to play them on repeat though. Like even that girl on SYTYCD the other night...I really enjoyed the song. I understand the appeal of the lyrics somewhat...

Last evening, I went to the first non-Clay concert I have been to in years. My cousin and I decided on the spur of the moment to go to the Turning Stone Casino (more Clay content) to see Linda Eder. (I know that someone mentioned her name back when we were having the discussion about other artists we enjoy.) It's amazing what a totally different vibe there is surrounding a non-Clay concert. Granted, this is a small venue, and she's not a superstar performer, but it was a nice, low-key way to spend the evening. She has a beautiful voice, and it was a pleasant show- but no real excitement, anticipation, etc. Made me miss Clay all the more.

Linda Eder is like Josh Groban to me. I can respect that she has a good voice...and understand the appeal but for some reason she leaves me cold or uninterested.

  10. Oh yeah, not denying that KLo can be a bitch - I just in general don't have an issue with occasional bitchiness - I think a charge of lack of integrity is major though. As for Jason, it probably doesn't help that I can't stand either his performances or style or his looks - just not my cuppa. And I have met more stupid "smart" people who brag on their SATs - if someone throws their SATs up as a defense that they're not stupid when they have done something stupid. I dunno - I tend not to be impressed with standardized tests as a good measure of intelligence as I've managed to buffalo my way through lots of 'em. Going on national television for a competition (even a reality competion) and saying that you didn't really practice and you aren't already the best at whatever you do just strikes me as something a stupid person would do.

Texas A&M? The Aggies rule! I went there right after high school. One of the top 25 public universities in the country, but especially good in engineering and veterinary science.

Well there you go thats a connection with you. I do believe he is more naive with what this all meant to him rather than being stupid. Probably brought on by being young and not really immersed in the singing profession so was very inexperienced on how to play the reality TV game. I also think that he mentioned his SAT cos it is like a shortcut for a lot of people. As he said I think he realizes that he is creating a persona and it may be a good way of camouflaging himself.I think whats smart is that he is pretty aware that this is all happening and seems to know how to deal with that and not let it get to him. although it seem like the dumb comment from Klo did sting...hee

  11. Nah, I just dislike what I perceive to be unfairness toward someone. I am really indifferent to KLo, but people have been saying incredibly nasty things about the woman as soon as AI2 was over. I don't know what happened. No one really does but Clay and Ruben and KLo, and they all seem to have moved on.

As for Jason Castro, that article just reinforced my perception that he's not the brightest bulb. 1340 on his SATs? Dude, that is NOT bragging material - and I'm hoping he at least got that when they were still scoring the SATs as topping at 1600. If he got 1340 out of 2400, if I were him, I would just be quiet. (And so I practice what I preach, I scored 1499 back in 1979 - which was the 99.5 percentile back in the day). Let him lay out his GRE/LSAT/MCATs and see if he has anything to talk about. The "jump in the lake" thing was fine as a defensive remark (and I don't really see it as a diss) - but at least he know he DID come across as pretty damn dumb.

Hee I was just going to ask if that is a good score. But he is in Texas A&M I think...is that a good school?

Yeah I really like how self aware Jason is...

and jmh...I love love his recording voice...just right up my alley. I dled most everything I can find of his.

  12. Although I totally love Jason Castro (he is now in my top 5 idol...with Clay, Kelly, Carrie and Ruben) and Klo's statement made me think ...beeyotch...I don't really think it reflects on her overall character. She was talking to a gay publication and from what I have observed from my gay firends and even experienced in some gay media and publications...bitchiness...cattiness and bold statements are certainly encouraged. I don;t know if she would have used such colorful language if she was speaking to people magazine for example. I do believe part of her appeal to the gay community is her boldness...her willingness to to take risks. That may turn off some people but it has worked for her in her career.

here is the quote from that article about Klo...

VB: What's one misconception about you that you've seen online, or wherever?

MJ: That I'm downright hilarious. It's too much pressure. I'm sick of it, quite frankly. [Laughs] No, I don't know. We're pretty much open books on the show. For me, I haven't really had any negative stuff written about me.

JC: I come across pretty dumb, I guess. I've gotten that a lot. A certain somebody was quoted saying I was dumb as a bag of rocks.

MJ: Yeah, who's that? On the show?

[Jason leans over and whispers in Michael's ear]

MJ: Oh yeah, Kimberley Locke. She can go jump in a lake.

JC: That's just what I heard.

MJ: She said that he was dumb as rocks. She was going around saying this season was, like, the most boring ever.

JC: Yeah. But the fact is, I am a brilliant test taker. I made a 1340 on my SAT. I'm just not an idiot. There's just so much going (in my head) it's hard to get it out.

    MJ: Brilliant.

To me...this whole incident made Micheal, Jason and even Klo more interesting. They are people that are not afraid to say whats on their mind and put their foot in their mouth. Kinda like Clay.I like that...they are not boring.

As for last season....It was actually my favorite after season 2 and its precisely because of Jason and Brooke who were so raw and natural, real on the show that they made tons of mistake. It made the show more interesting to me and made me care more. I did like some of David Cooks performances and thought he was the rightful winner...but other than that...the rest of the crew were meh to me. So I do agree with Play...that putting in all these pros do tend to make AI boring if what made me care was the one true amateur in the bunch.
