  1. I love reading his blog---always! I hope he gets his birthday wish. Everyone sure is working hard for it.
  2. Not jmh, but I'm pretty sure Cheerwine (soda) is actually made in NC (and has been for a long time). I'd call it similar to Cherry Coke or maybe Dr. Pepper but a lot fizzier. I just asked my NC friend how she'd describe it and she said 'bubbly cherry soda, kinda like cherrier Cherry coke'. Cheerwine is made in Salisbury, N.C. I used to live there a long time ago when I was in the early stages of my teaching career. I loved it then, but I stopped drinking it when I found out if you spill it on a light colored rug, you will not get it out! LOL I haven't tasted the Krispy Kreme/Cheerwine combo, but I just can't see messing with a good thing like a KK doughnut. And EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! to the UNC-TV announcement of live T&T with Clay!
  3. Loved seeing Clay on The View. He is so funny and looked fabulous. Also, I just called our Raleigh, etc. PBS station, WUNC-TV and talked to them about when Clay's special would be aired. I could tell by her immediate answer that she had said it many times. LOL She said that it is a pledge show and their pledge shows would be in September. Clay's would probably run either the 1st or 2nd week in September and if it does well, they would repeat it. YIPPEEEE! She also told me to call back around the 3rd week in August to get the exact date.
  4. OMG! Alex was incredible. I just watched it on YouTube, too.
  5. I'm sorry this took so long to answer your question. The shirts have short sleeves and $5 out of the $20 goes to the foundation. We've had a good response so we may be ordering more shirts.
  6. NEW MINI FUNDRAISER FOR THE NATIONAL INCLUSION PROJECT!! For those of you who have not been able to visit The Mecca Restaurant (the location of Clay's T&T cover picture in downtown Raleigh), here is your chance to purchase one of their 80th Birthday Celebration Tee Shirts and help the foundation as well. At the present time we have only the following colors/sizes: *GREY (2 LRG) *RED (4 MED, l LRG) *WHITE (2 XL, 2 LRG, 1 MED, 1 SM) The cost of the shirt is $20. I have a white one with burgundy letters, and I love it....very good quality. Please use the following email address if you would like to purchase a shirt. Upcopper2@aol.com
  7. That's one of my favourite songs! My absolute favorite followed by "It's Only Make Believe." Hubby heard YDHTSYLM the other day and said the arrangement was great! When I first heard "Suspicious Minds" I thought it lacked a little punch. But after playing it 4 times in a row at full volume in my car today, I think it is fantastic. Love the ending.

  12. Please pardon the interruption of any discussion at this time, but I would like to post a fun and exciting update. HERE IS AN UPDATE ON THE RALEIGH CD RELEASE PARTY! We are very excited about the upcoming Tried and True CD Release party, being celebrated as a Picnic in the Woods while also raising funds for the National Inclusion Project. The party will take place on Monday, May 31st in the New Community Church's Community Hall. The church is located at 9621 Six Forks Rd. in Raleigh, NC. The cost of the party is $35; a portion of the admission price will be donated directly to the National Inclusion Project. Dinner will be provided by the Backyard BBQ Pit of Durham, NC. Our picnic menu includes BBQ chicken, BBQ brisket (and yes, we heard your grumbling) so we will also include BBQ pork. This will be accompanied by macaroni and cheese, potato salad, collard greens, and hush puppies. Sweet and unsweet tea, along with coffee, and an array of homemade desserts will also be served. The celebration will begin at 7pm, with dinner beginning at 7:30pm. An exciting evening is planned to include live music and clack, interactive games and line dancing, and raffles and silent auctions. Plans are still being negotiated to have Clay's new CD (regular and deluxe versions) available for purchase at the church at 12am. 12 of the ClayBears from the Nomads Talking/Singing ClayBears Project will be decorating the venue, and they will be available for purchase. This is the Beginning of the End of the project; the bears will be gracing the center of our tables, and this will be the largest Gathering of ClayBears ever. Don't miss this one-time-only opportunity to see them up-close and in-person. Deadline for registration is Tuesday, May 25th. Paypal and questions should go to Margi at specialprojects2@nc.rr.com . Please come and share the fun. It will be a great night, filled with laughter, fun and fellowship. Looking forward to seeing all of you. Hugs, Margi and the NC Nomads for Inclusion
  13. Your reading my mind...I had those exact same thoughts..Clay Aiken just doing his thing and I am loving it! Kim I was thinking the same thing, too-----especially with Buttercup. Love the arrangement of that song. I am so glad that everybody is now getting to see what we saw at the OMG taping. Heck, I'm glad I'm getting to see it again----and again, and again,--------
  14. Yeah, I just read all of those posts. It could be that he will appear on QVC to preview his cd and maybe sing a little. Maybe he will be back to sing more at a later time and get a full hour.

  19. So glad you were able to volunteer for this! Sounds like fun. Can you tell us what the turn out was like? Do you know how successful the event was? Hi FearofH20. I was working, too. Do I know you? HEE
  20. After the PBS taping I posted the following comments on a couple of other boards. I was not a member here at that time. I wrote about running into my best childhood friend and her husband in the parking lot of Memorial Aud. after the show. After jumping up and down for a few minutes and hugging each other, I asked her if she is a Clay fan, and she said, "I am now." She also said that she would buy several of his cd's for herself and other people. I emailed her recently to let her know about when the public sale was starting for Bringing Broadway Home. I got an email from her tonight. She and her hubby got tickets!! THEY'RE HOOKED!! Keep reeling them in, Clay.
  21. I just read Bob Botsford's blog from the link on this article. This got my heart racing. I cannot imagine what this interview will be like. I am so proud of Clay for taking this whole thing on and agreeing to be on Larry King Live.
  22. I love getting the cluzzle pieces, and I am glad TC saved the best piece for the last day.
  23. That's great, FearofH2O. Looking forward to seeing you and georgiesmybaby.
  24. Ruth Sheehan writes a column in the N&O. Today she wrote about The Southern Women's Show that will run this weekend at the state fair grounds. Actually she is writing about the DLTS part of the event. Since Ruth won the dancing competition last year, Faye Parker asked her to "give this year's dance-off a plug." Ruth says, "The event, featuring local TV and radio celebrities, is fast paced and fun and benefits the National Inclusion Project, the Clay Aiken organization aimed at expanding opportunities for kids with special needs. The event is always standing-room only, but expect it to be more so this year---"American Idol" finalist Anoop Desai will also perform." I will be volunteering again this year at the project's booth and look forward to talking with folks about the goals of the foundation and helping to raise money. I think it will be fun to see Anoop, but I sure wish it was Clay singing. Now here is a little something else about the article. Right beside Ruth's column, which is in the Life, etc. section, there is a big story about "Wicked" which is playing at the Durham Performing Arts Center now. Of course, only a Clay fan would take notice of that coincidence. hee
