  1. Aww, that was a nice day. Loved the pictures! OT - ETA: soulsista4clay -- seems like you're my charm for pages. Lol! whenever I get a page you're on as well. Well, bye for now -- got to check on a server in Malaysia... ETAA: Wow, and you're a good luck charm as well. Someone else logged on from Alaska and fixed it. I don't have to do anything.... (except render )
  2. Is there anyone who could lend/mail me a Sony camcorder powercord for a few days? I'm sure mine will turn up as soon as the borrowed one arrives but I need to get some work done desperately. Pls PM if you can help, thanks!!!
  3. Good thing you logged on. I'm on call this week and I'd received a page (from Nigeria!) on a item that I didn't really need to do anything on -- just had to wait to make sure the folks in-country did what I suggested. Nice time to catch up on the boards...
  4. Soooo Miss Scarlett, in between hoeing and planting and reaping etc hmmm would there be any rendering or processing going on???? :3: Uh-oh... *runs to get the tapes* ... was just relaxing a bit since today was my first day back after a week off and it felt like I'd been gone a month.. didn't have my lunch yet... :wetkissf: And speaking of lunch hour... treenuts, I wasn't trying to do a quote but right after I posted I looked at it and went hmmmm.... I planned to go back to either turn it into a real quote (miniScarlett's school was just a stone's throw away from the Neighborhood so yes, I've heard enough to quote) or something that wouldn't be mistaken for one, but my lunch hour had disappeared... ETA: gg, for some reason I cannot find the power cord of the camcorder. I'm not doing it on purpose, truly! last night I couldn't find the tapes but they just materialized this morning still searching... I think the Gala Best ofs are jinxed. Hopefully your cord will show up. But the thing is, I have 3 of them -- because any Sony camcorder powercord will do. *grrrr.... frustrated* It's because I flew straight to my work site after the Gala and then did a lot of traveling since. There are so many power cords here but so far not one Sony. I.will.find.one.of.them!

  6. This Horse (wood element) thanks you - that was very cute! Oh good! That means we'll get along easily. We need to start planning that Toronto trip...
  7. I didn't like Twitter at first but I've seen its avantages. Case 1: Last summer MiniScarlett went to France for a month. I set her up with a phone and a $50 data plan. She was able to send me constant updates through tweets from just about everywhere - even remote mountain villages in the Pyrenees. That entire month there was only 1 place where she had trouble connecting and it was in some truly inaccessible shrine. And she didn't go over the plan. It was quick, fast, cheap and she didn't have to learn Azerty. Case 2: A few months later I visited some cities in Asia for a week. Before leaving, I put myself on the same data plan figuring that although my usage was probably a bit higher I'd be gone for only a week instead of a month so it should be ok. The big difference was that unlike MiniScarlett who only used e-mail and Twitter, I also connected to FCA, Facebook and several other apps. Well, 3 days into the trip I received an e-mail from AT&T "gently" alterting me that I'd already used up about 5 times the data covered by the plan. (BTW, if this happens to you just call AT&T, ask them to put you in a higher data plan and have them backdate it to the start of your trip -- yes they'll do it, ask nicely) *shakes head* What can I say? Those first few days I had a solid 3.5G connection and it all went to my head, er my fingers. So, these are some advantages I see to using Twitter on the go: - more available/accessible than waiting on and/or searching for a free WiFi connection - it's available for emergencies - it costs less per update than most other ways of keeping in touch ETA: I'm only starting out on Farmville but my plants keep dying on me. I don't have any neighbors yet -- if you're playing, would you please be my neighbor?
  8. I was in Hong Kong recently and this was brought to my attention. Just something cute to check.
  9. I watched the original V but it didn't stick with me. I guess the premise of a Arena-type situation where no compromise is possible doesn't fit well with today's thinking. We're in a global society, everyone talks and works witheveryone. It's the only way for the humanity to progress.
  10. Oh, that was a great show! Kalamazoo '07 was wonderful and it had one of my my favorite jazzy medley versions. *sigh!*
  11. I'm impressed! "Cute and helpless", huh? *g* That basically means that I can get out of neutral without killing the engine and I will neither drown it nor let it overheat in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Does NOT guarantee that I won't hit anything in the process... It's way past midnight EST -- can we greet him already?!!! HBD, Clay!!! Wishing you all the best, now and always!!!
  12. Oh, and I promise not to drive!!! (except that I'm probably the only one in the eHP who knows how to use a stick shift...)
  13. Hi, I just wanted to check in and say that I'm back. I tried to log in and post from the airport to close my offer but I was getting multiple strange connections so I stopped trying to transmit. This is rather late but PM me if you need any other info. Thanks! Love your new bath, ldyj! Do we get to see it if there;s a tour stop near your place? Clayzy, I was sightseeing with a good friend a few weeks ago, just a good friend, but everyday people were offering to take her camera to snap our picture. Maybe they were just being friendly but I thought it was nice. Great to be home!!! A few of us had some wild thoughts during an eHP trip recently -- if there ever is a "play against a celebrity team" TAR special, who would win? ehp or Team Clay???!!! What do you think?
  14. Oh, I wasn't aware of the customary process. So... what should I wear?!! *the choices, the choices...* Oh well, and since no one's asking for any other purchases I guess I won't be swinging by there in ... *muffles a scream* 1.5 hours... Yikes!
  15. Not quite OT: Sorry about the rushed OT post the other day. It was 6:06 am on my hotel room clock (yes, I was still logged on to FCA and hadn't begun packing) and I had an 8:10 am international flight to catch at an airport on a different island, 2 causeways and 4 tollbooths away. But things turned out ok. A desperate plea and small pout at the cabdriver took me to the gate with minutes to spare and I was able to spot this nice deal of 50% off on manutd Tshirts. Of course, being a typical member of the fandom I quickly spotted an opportunity and kept the wrapper to use as gift wrapping for a present for toni7babe (I skipped over the eHP since I didn't think they were into wrappers, but let me know if I'm wrong). And again, displaying typical eHP shyness I used the trademark helpless&cute move to snag 3 more bags from the store for free. These will go to the first 3 people who post a request here. Also, I'm headed to the same airport in a couple of hours. If I'm not just somewhat early but truly early this time, I can still pass by the same store at the arrival area (!) and purchase more items if we have more than 3 more takers after toni. Anyone after #4 on the list, though, needs to signify their willingness to buy a small item (eg. a $4 manga comicbook) for the privilege. This particular store doesn't put candies in bags so you need a somewhat bigger item. So, any takers? 1. (large t-shirt sized wrapper) - toni7babe 2. (large t-shirt sized wrapper) 3. (somewhat smaller manga wrapper) 4. (somewhat smaller manga wrapper) Too bad I changed my flight to leave earlier. I was supposed to fly out on Monday and you would have had a nice receipt stamped Nov. 30 to go along with the wrapper. Oh well.
  16. In case anyone's wondering why it seems like things haven't progressed, there is some work going on in the back end server. These files will be added afer the non-Unicef-Inspirational-book-related item is done. Thanks for checking
  17. . Aww, that'd be so cute to see/imagine... a nice thought on which to end the Thanksgiving holiday. Thanks! Belated Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! Hope those who tried, found some good bargains today. I think I may have a few items to donate to the next NIP auction!!!
  18. ================================================== OT I'll be travelling for a few days and may have spotty internet access. If you need to reach me call -- lots of folks have my number(s) - but keep in mind that I have roaming charges so keep the voice mail down to a minute or so. If I owe you something, PM (heh!). If a tour gets announced, call, text and DT --> the ehP has my google voice number which rings everything. If tickets are being sold, buy me some. If there's new audio clack, put it all on my voice mail -- who cares about roaming charges?!! Love you all! I will be back -- maybe sooner than I'm thinking, maybe even tonight -- there are angels everywhere and hopefully one of them has a broadband connection to set up for me! Love y'all again!!! Scarlett Cindilu, I'm so sorry but I thought I congratulated you last Friday! I think my post didn't get saved while I was rushing to catch a plane. Congratulations and best wishes on your great new career!!!
  19. Some places Christmas practically starts in September and ends in Jan 6! That's a good solid 4 months for MCWL!!!
  20. I just ride and set up a system for people to keep track of flights, reservations & accomodations. Sort of like kayak.com except that it also keeps track of where people are for emergency evacuations & such. I'd much rather come with you -- maybe sometime in the summer? I think I can arrange for fuel. *hopeful look* Just kidding!!! No, that's not my camcorder. It's a different line.
  21. Congratulation, merrieeee!!! I was so envious of you tonight, couchie!!! Traffic coming home was full of detours, delays and a lot of v. irritated people behaving badly! Yay for the insurance and being able to work from home!!!
  22. i cover my ears angels throwing strikes and spares thunder and lightning *Yes, I've been watching too much early River Tam. Can't you tell? Lol* please can't you break down look away and leave me be egg timer on joy
