  1. #1 for me,

--not so much for the picture itself, although he looks happy and therefore handsome.

more for the first public occation outside Spam of being real Clay at a media event and the words he spoke for Tyra.

    ---or what liney23 said better.

  2. mmmmm, hard as it is to vote against up-close do-that-to-me-one-more-time Clay face, I have to vote for #2, because if you look reaaaaaaaaaaal close (or see the cropped version) you'll see that he has thee most perfect lips evah in this pic. And I am all about the lips.

WORD Cindilu2---In case you need some proof folks, here it is--

this seems sooooo unfair to do, but..... too bad!

BE SURE to click picture for full effect

  3. I guess I am of two minds-

On the one hand, I have loved--and probably have a copy of-- each and every song on every album and from every concert and TV show that have passed his lips. Thank you clack-gathers!! Covers smovers, I love his voice and never cared for music much except motown and jazz, so I don't really know when he sings covers unless people talk about it. Every song he sings is new to me. I just want to hear his voice and interpretations. Truth be told, I am still waiting for Clays first "LIVE in Concert" album to appear since Tour-singing is my favorite, (I just hate the audience commentary). Otherwise I listen to tour versions of songs way more often than albums on a daily basis. To me, Albums by any singer--especially Clay, are usually too sterile and perfect, and I just buy Clays albums so he can be successful and take the songs to tour where he always improves upon them anyway. A live Clay tour album would show who he is, I think.

On the other hand, while I never angst about Clays album choices, I truly do belong to the FuckYou RCA club like ncgurrl, because for me in my heart, I feel there was real malice by several of them towards Clay not only in their music recording decisions, but also a deep personal sabbatoge toward Clay's career which includes a real 50s-style McCarthyesque smear campaign in modern internet form, which lasted 3 years and counting. Leaving RCA and moving to Decca--which is a step up in my book, was one of the happiest days in my fandom. Not ever wanting to know about Clays personal love-life, I would most definately want to hear the real story about Clive and Roger some day before I die, and hope it is exposed by someone sometime. That would be quite the story!! Decca will be much better I am 100%sure.

I just cant wait for Clay's future career, and I hope he makes many many different kinds of albums in the future from Pop to B'Way to Country to Covers---whatever...And live touring, with lots of surprises Its all up from here. I am happy for Clay. He can sing whatever he wants.

Go get the brass ring now, Clay! :needclay:

  4. I know she lurks around here from time to time...and speaking of time...

    Happy birthday TimeTravelerPax!

ldyjocelyn==I am voting on your great picture poll, I love it-- and hate it too when I cant decide. Thanks for that.

ThankYou all so much for the happy B'day wishes from all who sent them or thought them. Happy wishes are an important part of life. I had a very nice day in spite of the heat here in hot humid Jersey--but Im used to that, and finding such great wishes from FCA tops off the day--

ThankYou all it means a great deal!!

    :party045:

Also Happy BDay to fellow Leos cha cha trusty & FromClaygary.

    :happybirthday01:

jmh123 and Mom--prayers and good thoughts to you both. :elephanthugs:

  5. #1 Because it has been a favorite of mine for years, and it appears on my desktop often.

Thanks for the larger, clearer version!!

No2 is historic, and Its great, but #1 is just too beautiful for words.

PS: Does anyone know for sure if #1 is Tampa or Raleigh or NY? I have it as a Buzztechie photo but not sure what show its from.

  6. Maybe--if a book is true at all-- Clay is writing about something more academic-- yet opinionated--like Unicef, poverty, politics, diversity, civil rights, inclusion etc. Im sure it would have a Clay personal connection, but his mini rant on prop8 in California was of interest to many people. . Or Maybe he has been working on some social essays on controversial [King of Controversy] issues important to Clay and his many "inclusion-related interests". ...and maybe he was trying his professor Aiken hat on a few weeks ago, and he liked the reception his ideas it got. Or the publishers did. I know I did.

    Hot. :me0:

I doubt it would be an autobiography/memoir about AI or extremely personal stuff.

Just harmless speculating here. I like academic/Unicef Clay.

  7. I love the gifs you all have shown. Thanks.

I thought I'd add a few of my old-time faves.

    A little bit pissy;

Let me know if you can see them. They are linked fom the gallery here at FCA, and Ill add some more if it works.

eta: yah, Id love read another book by him; but I really don't think thats what he was doing around there--salt-salt-salt-.

Id rather read about a Tour-Plan myself :soon: , but yah, Id read it.

  8. We are the champions!

    Hooo-Rayyy and Yayyy Team Couchie+Nephew!!

    Way to Go!!

I hope you took his picture with the game ball. If not there"s still time.

Great congratulations to all the family, especially you, proud Auntie Couchie!!

ps- There's very very few food-things in the world I don't like- but rhubarb is one of them , too bitter for me. sorry.

But I ..hear its good for you. Maybe I never tasted it well made. Convince me to try it again. :1:

  9. I don't hate the guy, I just don't care about him. Clay was way too nice about him. If you're gonna get bashed for giving your opinion about someone you might as well really give it to them. :cryingwlaughter:

    I couldnt agree more..^^^^...

    About BAF name change:

Maybe in addition to confusion about pronouncing the name, maybe Clay worried that "Bubel" part was being confused with Michael Buble [accent on the e] , that other crooner. Just a thought.

    About AdamL:

At first I was entertained by him on AI, and even liked his sound in a few songs. I guess I enjoyed watching him more than actually listening tho, so my interest faded as I found that I actually liked Kris Allen's songs better, and would repeat play them. I fear that in the long-run, Adam's appeal may fade quickly with other casual fans too, especially as he continues to reaveal himself as a willing AI tool instead of the actual "rebel" that Clay truely is, and he, Adam, claims to be. He's just not all that interesting or original IMO

Im expecting a very hot yet very short career that could be over before Clay actually reappears for his next reinvention. AL is just not as good or as interesting as he thinks he is.

But..Im actually starting to feel somewhat sorry for this other runner-up guy.

Clay set lots of "firsts" and miscell records which will not likely be equaled by anyone in the AI contxt, and you know, the AI-RCA-19xyz machine will use AL just like they did Clay then turn on him in the end too, and they will have alot more actual embarassing photos, tapes, tweets, interviews to work with in tossing him under a bus when they're ready. I hope Adam enjoys his ride while he disses Clay, because in trusting Roger or the AIMachine, he is really playing with that ring of fire. At leaste Clay never really trusted them and got away partially early, and completely in the end, finally.

    Some last words for Adam:

Good Luck, kid, you'll need it!

    :ninja:

  10. timetravelerpax... GREAT story!!! I'd say it could only happen in Ireland, but I had an "O.M.G. it's just not possible" story that happened in San Francisco, so...

Wow, thanks everyone, for all the responses, Clay pictures, funnies, smut, and more pictures... you all have inspired me to post twice in one 24-hour period. That can get dangerous at 3AM B)

But liney-- I just could not let this ^^^comment pass. Do tell your SanFrancisco story sometime. In fact, I love "OMG, its not possible" stories, so spill the details sometime when you feel so inclined.

ETA: Hi chacha- Im up late too!!-Ill look for that book, sounds great!!

    Clay content:

Clay travels alot and hes Irish too.

My outrageous Clay speculation for the day::hangin:

I'm not worried about invisible Clay: I bet Clay is home in Raleigh , with Jaymes and baby Parker cookin up not just a new album, but also a new music label with his personal part of the Foster clan. Im sure theres a BIG music studio in his home, her home in LA, and the Vancuver residence too. For snark, they could call it "Invisible Records".

They could do it! They have the talent, the music genes, the titanium, the connections and the money.

Why not? Seems reasonable to me. Don't throw things I really think so!

Hes such a businessman and Jaymes seems to enjoy producing his things in original ways. :cryingwlaughter:

I say, give 19XYZ and RCA a run for their out-dated money, and something to really worry about. Think thats dumb? , ok folks, Lets hear what crazy thing you think hes doing career-wise. More fun than worrying. I dont do worrying. Ill stop now.

    Goodnight FCA :claybow:

  11. So, Ireland was great!!!! Been really busy since getting back. I took 1700 pictures I am still sorting out!!

Here are some of the best...

    _______________________________________________________________

    chacha and all at FCA~

Thank you so much for the Ireland pictures, especially of the West Coast, and refreshing some wonderful sweet memories! I hope your trip was sweet. My experience there is worthy of a short story

    No malarky-heres an Irish story:

I was there [we crossed the middle of Ireland from Dublin to Galway] over 30yrs ago with my then new non-Irish husband, my very Irish mother, grandmother, and great aunt. We women all descend from the Clan Farraghers of County Galway on the West Coast. (think Chris Seiber aka Lord Farquhar in Shrek--only taller) Well anyway, my mom led us on a search along the west coast as seen above, for relatives of ancestors that came here to NYC over 100 years before. She was so determined to find family and no one ever doubted we would.

Long story shorter-- we found a pub called Teresa's Pub near Galway, and since all the women-me, my mom and grandmother took it as a sign, and as we are all named Teresa, we entered for a drink. Well, unlikely as it may be, we seem to have stumbled upon the Clan Farragher pub and when they inside the pub, discovered our quest, they called friends and family and they came all day from miles around to meet us. Im not sure if really all 50+ people who showed up were actually Farraghers, but we had the most wonderful day drinking, talking, swapping stories etc. and my Mom, Daisy Farricker, who was 100% Irish in her head, talked about that day all the rest of her life--another 30years--, and I was so happy that her dream came true to meet her Irish sisters and brothers. They were so warm and frindly and interesting and ....

    We all got drunk together.

David and I, who had just spent a year in Cambridge University [he was a theoretical physicist] were so young but he was impressed! "The luck of the Irish came true", he said.

Thanks for the memories, hope you don't mind my sharing mine too.

  12. Part1~~ Dear FCA:

    Bravo Clay!

Thank you Couch Tomato and Claylove.

To everyone of you in FCA---

I so enjoyed meeting so many of my friends here yesterday, and I look

forward to meeting many more of you whenever Clay tours-- and he will.

Thanks so much for adding to my fun day Sunday the 4th celebrating Clay

the Star-- He is so the star. I just saw a brief mention of his last Spam day

flash on WABC local NYC News here at noon..

And to all my frinds on the board here who were NOT in NYC,

I thought of you several times and sent you several mental snapshots

during several my favorite Clay scenes.. did any of you receive any

Clay flashes? I bet you did. heh. :ninja:

NOT a RECAP Jan4th, 2009 [this part can travel if anyone wants to add to recaps]

I am terrible at recaps, and I only saw Spam one other time in Oct when he signed my playbill at the SD, but let me just summarize a general impression I had watching Jan4th Clay all day, both on stage and off:

    Clay was a complete professional throughout he day. I watched him through good bonaculars and whenever he was on stage, he remained in character throughout the play proper. {Well, maybe some would say he stepped out a bit when he refused to flip his tail at the piano and smirked over his shoulder--but I took this as a broader "Clay-on-Stage" tour move all the concert fans would recognize}

He had fun, but was not going to try to steal the spotlight. He let his Spam friends and his long-term fans show him all the LOVE, and he did it with complete grace. Im sure he shed a few tears at some point, but he was all professional grace on stage.

Only When he did his final-final bow and came out without his wig as "Clay Aiken" did you see his heart: he was thrilled with it all and very appreciative. On the roof, Clay acknowledged the fans briefly but with a real honest smile and wave. He was brief but genuine Clay it seemed, and he was happy. Thats all that really matters. He felt the love, and gave the fans a short but deep glimpse into his happiness. Im so good with that, I cannot tell you.

On Sunday the 4th, I was so proud of Clays happiness doin' whetever he

wants to do, and doing it so well--and with such class while he's at it

too :bravo: His Broadway success is well-deserved and his talent recognion a

long long time coming. May it continue forever.

But -- in my opinion only, I hope Clay now goes into deep, super-secret cover mode

and does what he wants to do with all of his family and music planning and no one finds

    any pictures posted by anyone other than Clay himself. No digging!!{tmCHA}

I am seriously not telling anyone else here or anywhere, how to feel or speak, and I would honestly probably look, but its just that IMO Clay deserves some well-earned privacy and I hope he succeeds. The media and fans should respect Clay and allow him to interact with his entire family the way he wants to: in private.

I enjoy these happy pictures of Reed in public supporting Clay and

cheering him alonside Clay's family. That so sweet.

Reed seems like a great person who happens to be a model or dancer.

Reed is cute, but to me, Reed is the lucky one to have such a hot and deep

singer-actor-human boyfriend like Clay. If he is the ONE Clay wants forever-great, Im happy.

But if Clays is just not past "boyfriend", or not "boyfriend" at all-its not anyone's business but theirs--the public needs to back away altogether now from Clay/Reed/Jaymes/Parker/Aiken family and let Clay make his own personal choices with them alone and without thousands of people peering into his bedroom window--again and still. Its cute now, but could easily become obsessive, and I want talent interest in Clay not tabloid interest alone.

My message to Clay: Thanks for Broadway, you were great! Rest up, and

have some family fun. If RCA says it has to be covers before you are

free of them, bring on JBT2/ATDW/OMWH! Lets have some more fun on tour

with actual costumes sets and anything you want to sing, old or new.

Just plan it while you are home, and hopefully in your own house-studio...and

    Clay, Bring It Back! Soon.

  13. Happy New Year 2009 FCA !

Congratulations, Clay on a really great run in Spamalot!

Congratulations on Parker and all your new happiness.
