  1. Oh is there trouble in the paradise that is this fandom?? Who cares!! Look at this face!! Does anything else really matter??
  2. That first picture........ :hubbahubba: :hubbahubba:
  3. I mean, really! Look at this picture! Look at those eyes. Look at the hair! Look at the stubble! Look at his Adam's Apple, so right for the picking! And the pokey little chest hairs peeking out from his shirt!! Gay or not, I just want to ravage him!
  4. I never doubted that, couchie. Never. Unfortunately, its not just you I am out of step with. Sometimes I feel like a square peg trying to fit in a round hole in this fandom. But I keep trying to fit in because I love Clay and all the joy he has brought into my life. Now I am taking my sinus headache, which I woke up with and has never gone away, and heading to bed. Except I have to make it first since I stripped the sheets in a moment of madness earlier.....
  5. I don't control the vaults. Not that I would throw it all out anyway. There is a wink wink nod to this whole thing and has been for a long time. But here's the difference. Clay BLOGGED and asked us specifically not to record - tell your friends who are on the way NOT to record. Not wink wink..don't record. It's that simple. He's only done that a few times in the last 5 years so I didn't find it a hard decision to make. If you read my post clearly you'd see that I am well aware that everyone in Clay Nation knows how to get this without posting a direct link on this public board so am not calling anyone immorral or disrespectful for wanting it. Go for it and thank you for sharing it. I have great faith in our members not to post it on youtube. But I don't have the same faith in people I don't know. It really is the very least that I could do and don't feel the least bit hypocritical for coming to that decision. Wandacleo - lol yeah.. it was up for awhile before I saw it and so I knew it was snatched and thus could be shared approriately LOL. To be fair, it is your interpretation that there was no wink wink nod nod in his post. My interpretation when I read it was he was more concerned that if people got caught it would eat into the time they had. Regardless, I don't see the harm in posting the link, but this isn't my board so its not my call. Guess this is just one more example of how out-of-step I am with many in this fandom, but then again, who don't know that!! Another Cancerian who's hot for Clay here!
  6. This is the first time I have been here today and I must say I am a little surprised the link was pulled. (I went to bed last night before I read that less anyone think I was just being a bitch and refused to pull it....) Personally, I think its hypocritical to pull that link when the the vaults are filled with ill-begotten clack. I mean, think of all the clack in the vaults taken at concerts where Jerome busted people. Wasn't that the same as Clay saying not to record anything? But yet it was freely shared on the boards and sits proudly in the vaults. I do not understand the difference here. It seems in rereading Clay's blog his request was more based on getting caught and how that would eat into the time than any moral implications from recording this. Its not like it was copyrighted material like the show itself! I just think that its ridiculous it can't be posted. But its not my call. However, if its not immoral and disrespectful to Clay to post this, if anyone wants the link, PM me. Of course by this time everyone probably already has it.
  7. Is it the whole thing? Bless you! It IS the whole thing!!! Someone sent it to me and I don't know who recorded it but whoever that brave soul is deserves a medal!! And his love for ATDW sure didn't sound like label enforced spin to me! It sounded like he actually does love it! What a concept. Clay may actually mean what he says! You mean like when he specifically says please don't record the Q&A? Well, I am sure he meant it, but I bet he wouldn't be surprised that it was!
  8. Is it the whole thing? Bless you! It IS the whole thing!!! Someone sent it to me and I don't know who recorded it but whoever that brave soul is deserves a medal!! 9. Just saw this on another board. Never underestimate the Clay Nation!
  10. And a tough year for Clay. Bet he doesn't want to go through that again either!
  11. Its already getting messy out there what with that dirty word covers being uttered from his beautiful, luscious lips! But, although I didn't like a lot of ATDW (but I didn't like a lot of those songs in their original versions either), I think back at some of my very favorite Clay songs ever and there are an awful lot of covers. I mean, BW, IYDKMBN, COF, SM, ICMYLM, Kyrie, WTSHNN, and so many more. Sure, I love OMWH but I also love a lot of his covers. Everyone is doing covers now. James Taylor's new album is even called "Covers" and it is terrific. Seal's new album is called "Soul" and is terrific. If he picks good songs, with variety in styles and tempo and puts a few violin players out of work, it could be a great album. But who knows what we will actually get. I don't suspect we'll be getting anything for a long while. As for how miserable Clay was when he was recording ATDW - doesn't anyone think maybe he was miserable about what was going on in his real life (the crap - remember?) not about what he was singing? As for a JBT2 - sign me up!! I LOVED that tour! It was 3 hours of Clay singing to meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Most fun tour ever!
  12. I rest my case! I can see why you felt bashed, people do take things personally on a fan board. Why, some here ALWAYS assume every post with a differing opinion is meant just for them! :-O Anyway, why worry about the opinion of someone who hadn't, ya know, even watched the show? Totally irrelevant opinion! I skip 'em or just disregard them, it's easy! As a liberal non-homophobic Democrat, I had to agree with a lot that guy said. The jokes and politics talk were jarring, to me. I was hoping for more of a Carol Burnett type of thing. You know, what you said doesn't even make sense. I wasn't the one feeling attacked. I didn't think Kim's post was meant for me. SHE apparently thought MY post was meant as an attack on HER. SHE was the one mistaken. WHAT I SAID WAS NOT ABOUT KIM. IT WAS ABOUT THE REVIEW AND UNLESS SHE WROTE THE F**KING REVIEW IT WASN'T ABOUT HER AND SHE HAD NO RIGHT TO FEEL PERSONALLY BASHED. Unlike you, djs, who constantly with your not-so-subtle passive aggressiveness NEVER fails to take an opportunity to take a swipe at me and you have been doing that practically since the first day on this board and I am getting VERY tired of it. Grow up. To everyone else, HAPPY TOFURKEY DAY!
  13. Not all of us Republicans are ultra-conservative or homophobic...I happen to agree with the review...I didn't think it was family friendly, it was unfunny and I didn't think Rosie was a very good host. You know I really am getting tired of being bashed for my beliefs...not only are you intolerant, but insulting as well... Kim Well Kim, unless you wrote the review I wasn't talking about you and if you read what I actually wrote, I never said, or even implied, ALL republicans were ultra-conservative or homophobic. I just said that the review sounded as if it was written by someone who was. I was not bashing YOU or insulting YOU. You were not who I was talking about unless, as I said, you wrote the review. I am NOT intolerant and nothing I said in my opinion of that review suggested that and I was NOT even insulting to the reviewer - and again it was not about YOU. You, however, certainly have shown intolerance for my opinion and have been insulting to my beliefs now, haven't you. If you can express your opinions why can't I? Heaven knows you have certainly made your dislike of Rosie known! I think much of what you have said about her was very insulting and intolerant. You were able to say you agreed with the review so why couldn't I express my opinion about it? Geez. Chill out!
  14. That review sounds like it was written by an ultra conservative homophobic republican. IMO nothing he pointed out as not being family friendly was not family friendly. The show may not have been particularly funny (I haven't watched it, but I didn't think Clay's bit was at all funny - although he was verra, verra CUTE! I thought the jokes fell flat and the audience was not very responsive because of that.) But I think his review was slanted because of his political perspective and perhaps his so-called moral perspective. He of course is totally entitled to his opinion but I do think he came off as an ultra-conservative who doesn't like Rosie because she is a liberal democrat, outspoken and gay! JMO and all that. Clay WAS adorable, however. His shoulders looked HUGE!! And the guy with the coconuts was definitely the flying nun!
  15. Well, I know some of you think I am a baaaaaad Clay fan since I didn't want to get my picture taken with him and I call Parker "the kid" and I didn't like the barber pole shirt etc, etc, etc.... <SNARK> But I guess I really, really am because I totally forgot about Rosie until I was watching "Bones" and Booth was talking about his son, whose name happens to be (wait for it...) Parker! By then it was already half over so I guess I will watch the clack and maybe watch the whole show on my west coast feed. Having a west coast feed is the one thing I really love about having satellite! Off to watch the clack!
  16. The man is ADORABLE!!! The barber pole shirt, not so much. Where does he find these weird and wonderful shirts? And am I the only one who read that web address as pornography.com??? Yes?? Oh my. I forgot this would opposite Bones! Hmmm. Wait for clack? Tape Bones? Watch Bones off the west coast feed? Hope I get home by 8:00 so I have a choice???
  17. I hope your day does come, luckiest. Everyone who wants something like this should have their chance. I guess for me, Spam is so much more than Clay so for something that is a Spamalot memory, I want more than Clay. Plus, I have never even wanted to meet Clay (except when a friend gets a M&G and then for one second I get jealous....). I shake his hand at bus lines and all, but haven't entered any M&Gs. I guess I prefer my fantasy of Clay and don't want to take the chance (however slight that might be...) of having that fantasy shattered by meeting him. Of course, you don't get to actually know Clay at those M&G. He only lets you see what he wants you to see (as he should). I had thought about trying to get a picture with him at the stage door in October, but when I watched all the insanity and pushing and shoving just to have 2 seconds with Clay preserved in a digital image, it just didn't seem worth it. There's something to be said about lusting drooling over obsessing over admiring someone from afar! But I DID enjoy my time going to Spamalot. I just don't need a picture with Clay to do so. And I will enjoy my time in January too. A lot! Me too!! So excited!! And Yes, Spamalot is ALL about CLAY to me. Mine will be one of the faces in that sea-of-faces turned to watch his every move. I will enjoy every moment. IMO, that is a shame - and I suspect Clay would be the first person to tell you that. You are missing sooooo much and missing a very talented cast doing what they do best. I know Clay appreciates that. I just wish more of his fans did. He is terrific in the show, but is NOT the show. It is an ensemble show and you're cheating yourself if you don't watch more than just Clay. IMO. Hey justclay12, I am just thrilled when ANYONE agrees with me! It happens so rarely! Muski, sorry about your dental woes! Now I know why I never go to a dentist! Oh, and under the category of "Clay turns up in the strangest places"..... Sunday morning in our hotel room we had on the NFL channel while we were getting ready. They were talking about something concerning my home town quarterback and how he hadn't realized NFL games couldn't end in a tie (Who knew? tm The King) They were doing a bit of commentary and the guy was talking about how we all don't know things we should and the next thing you know, they are showing some guys sitting around a conference table and one of them says "Hey guys. Did you see this? Can you believe this? This can't be true!" and he held up the People magazine cover - you know which one. They then went on other things, but they ended the bit with the guy just staring at the cover and saying "Tell me this isn't true. How can this be true. Who would ever have known!" or something like that. Then the commentators said something about how they were going to hear it now from the Clay fans! Not that I suspect many Clay fans are tuned into to the NFL channel on a Sunday morning..... Ok, maybe it loses something in translation but is was funny! Sure, they are implying anyone should have guessed Clay is gay, but I honestly think most casual observers did (at least most I know...). But it was not done in a derogatory manner. And honestly, did you ever think you would hear Clay's name on the NFL channel???
  18. I'm back from my Spamming and a great, fun and COLD weekend in NY with my Lurker Friend! Not much to add to the recaps except I thought Clay was clearly annoyed at the peasant waving at him constantly - which was distracting to what was going on onstage. I do not think he was amused. The audience was mostly NJUs but were very responsive to the entire show - just like it should be. Our seats were 10th row dead center and this may be my favorite vantage point. Its close enough to see Clay but far enough away to see the entire play. It is such a great show with so much going on at any one time and so much talent up on that stage its really a waste to just concentrate all your attention to one person. When you're in the first or second row, that's what you tend to do. I still do not like the new king at all. He has improved a bit since I saw him in October but he just doesn't have the warmth and chemistry with the others that Jonathan did (IMO of course). I loved Jonathan being the straight man. I loved that there seemed to be a connection between his King and the knights. I believed he could fall in love with the LOTL and she with him and I especially loved his obvious affection for Patsy. I felt all those elements made this crazy show richer. This king just seems like a caricature. Now, I know this is Monty Python, but amongst all the silliness, each character seems to be oddly real. You see personalities and emotions and even some depth. That is what lifts this play from just being a bunch of empty weird jokes. To me the king just doesn't have what it takes. I don't honestly know if I had never seen the show before if he would bother me so much (although I suspect his mumbling and swallowing his lines which makes him hard to understand at times would bother me regardless), but I did see another king and I very much prefer him. Merle seemed a bit better but while beautiful and while she has a wonderful voice, there is just something missing. I saw Emily Tsu once as the LOTL and that is still my favorite Lady, then Hannah and then Merle. Again, she just doesn't seem to have the connections. But still, this show is such a joy. It lifts your spirits and makes you laugh and for a short time there are no problems in your life or in the world! I love it so much - and I will miss it. Speaking of which, the sign on the wall at the theater still says its closing Jan. 18th. Now, I get that changing that HUGE one at Time Square (next to a picture of Ace in Grease - that boy certainly is fine to look at....) might be hard to edit, but the one at the theater? Someone could just take a magic marker and cross out the '18' and write in '11'! I didn't do the picture thing - despite the bargain basement price of $40. I might have, oddly enough, if Rick or Tom or David had been with Clay in the picture. But I just didn't feel the urge to get my 2 seconds with Clay as Sir Robin. That picture would have been a Spamalot memory and to me, Spamalot is about more that just Clay. One of the recaps said they were lined up all the way up the aisle. That wasn't quite true. I would say they were lined up at least half way up the aisle with new people joining them as they went on. There were a lot of people and boy did they move fast! It was just fun to watch the whole thing! At times it looked like Clay had to force his smile - almost like he was getting tired of smiling! **Sigh** Guess that's it until January. And then it will be all gone!!
  19. Cool about Clay on Rosie! I love her! I think she's a riot. She may have a big mouth sometimes, but she also has a big heart and a big sense of humor. Has the commercial for Rose's show been posted? I stole this from CH who stole it from CV.... Rosie's Commercial I get to see our boyfriend this Saturday! Why didn't he do that Q & A this Saturday? Of course, I wouldn't have the $200, but still! (And I hear Rick is out. He better be back by Saturday night! I can no more imagine Spamalot without Rick than I can without Clay!) {{{annabear and mamabear}}} Sending good thoughts your way.
  20. No Clay content whatsoever. I am just so addicted to the Puppy Cam it isn't even funny!!!! When those sweet babies go to their new homes, I will be heartbroken! Ooo! I thought of a Clay connection!! Both the puppies and Clay are CUTE!!!!! Back to the puppies one last time before heading to bed........
  21. One of Clay's favorites (and mine), James Taylor, has a new CD out called "Covers" and its all.... wait for it.... covers! Now, James Taylor can get away with it because he has a body of work spanning several decades (including a lot of covers...) and the way he does these songs is fabuious, IMO. But I read something he said about doing covers and it struck me in relation to Clay. When I think of a song like "Broken Wings" and then LAA - the only song Clay has recorded that he has written to date - to me its the perfect example of just how true a statement that is. If only the critics understood that. Oh, and Seal also has an album of covers out and from what I heard on AOL's Listening Party its really good. I love his voice. In the end, I guess I don't care who wrote the song or sung it before. If I love the voice and the interpretation, I will love the performance.
  22. BWAH! Is she at least going to buy a ticket to see you? What are you gonna wear? Take a picture, Gibby! I've been online a lot today looking for the best possible airline deal for my New Year's New York Spamalot trip...I actually have enough miles for a free roundtrip ticket but I'd have to do a red eye on New Year's Eve (like Couchie) but from SFO instead of Oakland...And then the question is...what the hell does one do when one arrives in the Big Apple at 7 am on New Year's Day? and one's hotel room isn't admitting you until 3 pm or so? without spending money, that is... One flies into Philly instead where one's friend will pick her up at any ridiculous hour and take her home to her very own sofa to sleep or do whatever she wants! ETA: Was reading elsewhere. Why is it whenever new Idols come out with albums the conspiracy theorists also come out in full force - like all RCA has on their minds is how to ruin Clay!
  23. I'm going to see Clay next Saturday!!! :04: I sooooooooo need a fun time, something to regenerate me. Oddly enough I thought of hopping a train to NYC and seeing some play or other. And for some odd reason, Spamalot came to mind! I heard its pretty funny and that the guy playing Sir Robin is pretty darn CUTE!! So my Lurker Friend and I decided to give it a shot!! Muski, you have my sympathies. I am terrified of the dentist (and doctors too...) and haven't been in mumbleymumbley years and I just know that one day I will live to regret it! Can someone post the link to the Puppy Cam again??? Please????
