  1. Speaking of the frequently absent lately Sir Robin, YSRN (my Twin!) posted this over at getclayaiken and she found it at CV. I think it is so cool!! It was found on EBAY!
  2. Gee Muski. You mean you don't LOVE John Mayer??? :wtfcat: Well me neither and I cannot imagine him as a variety show host BUT.... Right now he is a much bigger star than Clay. I can guarantee you more people know John Mayer's music than Clay's and he's is sometimes dating Jennifer Aniston so that makes him cool. And Clay is pretty much a non-entity for most people outside of us - except as a gossip item maybe. I am sure if Clay were hosting a variety show there would be many more saying WTF than for John Mayer. I would be surprised if Clay were to get any big major TV gig until he starts reinventing himself with the public. Spamalot is great but unless you got to Broadway most people didn't see it or could care less about it. Clay can get there if he wants to. Heaven knows he has the talent. But he isn't there yet. I have this fanatsy (no, not that fantasy!) that Spamalot is just the first step Clay is taking in reinventing his career. He will never be HUGE! POP! STAR! CLAY! so he just needs a new path. And I do think by taking small, very successful steps he will get wherever he wants to go.
  3. {{{cagney}}} It hasn't been quite a year since my dad died so I know some of what you're feeling. My thoughts are with you and your family.
  4. There are some links to outside sites that charge for tests. Ignore the links along the outside columns of the page--those are ads. Where it says, Learn More / Take Test at the top right, in orange, click that. The opposite side from Personality Test. You'll then have to register. After that, there's a big square box that comes up that says Take test or Try test or something like that. Thank you! Looks like I am an INFP - The Dreamer. Just like James Taylor and Fox Mulder! It is interesting. Careers for an INFP include actor and speech pathologist. My undergraduate degree was in drama and my masters was in speech pathology!! So how did I end up a travel agent????
  5. What am I missing? I went where he told me and started taking one test that was like an IQ test. It was too much work so I stopped. Went back later and took another personality test but at the end they wanted $39.95 to see the results! Where is the free test??
  6. What she said..... That is so sad, Marilyn. Kris was hysterical and I used to love reading her posts. They always made me laugh. And that M&G story may be the single most hysterical Clay story I have ever read! It did seem like she was always sick and the fact that she always had such an amazing sense of humor through it all always made me admire her. I too had no idea she was so young. That makes it all the more sad. There are several former Claymaniacs over here, so thanks for letting us know.
  7. From getclayaiken: Seems like compared to the last run Clay is missing quite a lot of shows this time round. According to other reports I read, his voice was somewhat raspy this afternoon but he told some who had their picture taken he wasn't sick!
  8. No one brought these over? From CV via getclayaiken: My brother just installed my new 750GB external hard drive and 2 gigs of memory. My computer is very happy! Lots more room for clack!
  9. Not anything...... Not a lot...... But Clay is CUTE and in the end, what else really matters?? ETA: Example of things not possible in the USA - see Gibby's post.... How sad. How shameful. Maybe this new President can make a difference. I doubt it. He would need the power to change the minds of narrow minded, hate filled people. He is not that powerful. No one person is.
  10. Not anything...... Not a lot...... But Clay is CUTE and in the end, what else really matters?? ETA: Example of things not possible in the USA - see Gibby's post.... How sad. How shameful.
  11. I hope so too. But Bill Clinton engaged the youth back in 1992 and I don't think it lasted.... Me? Cynical?? You betcha! I hear ya about how amazing it is for an African American man (well technically bi-racial, but that's close enough) being elected to the presidency being a HUGE deal. And I am thrilled our country - at least for now - has gotten over that barrier. But I wonder how long it will be before a Jew can be elected president? And I wonder how long it will be before a Hispanic can be elected president. I wonder if we will ever see a gay elected president? And I wonder if I will live long enough to see a woman of any race or religion or sexual orientation elected president. So many barriers yet to be torn down. For such an advanced nation, we sure do still have a long way to go to become truly free.
  12. Well, I was a bad citizen. For the first time since I was 18 I didn't vote in a presidential election. I got up too late this morning to go before work and I got out a bit late and frankly was just not motivated enough to drive 15 minutes out of my way to vote for someone I just didn't like much. Not when the last poll had Obama leading in Pennsylvania by 13%. I knew my vote didn't matter. And I didn't feel guilty about it until muski called to thank me for helping give Obama Pennsylvania and I had to tell her don't thank me - I didn't vote! I think I sensed disappointment in her voice...... I too was a Hillary person and was bitterly disappointed she lost the nomination. But I tried to get to like Obama, but never could. Frankly, the almost blind, cult-like following he has makes me very nervous. Look at the people in Times Square. Half a million in Chicago waiting to just be in his presence. That is just not normal. That kind of blind following is not healthy and it scares me a little. But he has to be better than McCain and if we can survive 8 years of "W".... **Sigh** Besides, what choice do I have. He will be the next president and I will just have to deal with the consequences - good or bad. One thing I do know. We didn't get into this mess overnight and we won't get out of it overnight and anyone who thinks we will has definitely drunk the Kool-Aid! And at least we won't be inundated with all those damn commercials!!! **Always look on the bright side of life**
  13. Frankly I don't think either one of them is qualified to be president. I am so unhappy with the choices. I would never vote for McCain - NEVER - but I am so tired of voting for someone because I think the other guy would be a worse president. I want to vote for someone because I think they would make a great - or even a good - president! I have no more belief that my vote counts this time around than I did in the past - and won't as long as the electoral college system is still in place, nor when someone can buy an election if they raise 600 million dollars (not that money buying an election is new. Its more status quo.). I don't believe my voice carries any more weight this time than in the past. I also do not believe whoever wins will be able to cure the woes of this country any time soon. Whoever is elected doesn't get to take office, wave his magic wand and make all his campaign promises come true! Besides, what a candidate says during a campaign and what he does once in office are rarely the same thing. With all due respect to Obama, I have no more faith in him than I do in John McCain. I don't think he has any more integrity than any other politician. I do not believe he will keep his promises as I think most of his promises are hollow campaign rhetoric. He has painted a pretty picture with fancy words and powerful speeches, but there is nothing on his resume that makes me believe he can be a good president and many reasons to doubt him. But IF I vote - and that's a HUGE IF - he'll get my vote because really, what are my choices? (Although McCain was pretty funny on SNL Saturday!)
  14. Yep..but Clay would be snapped up just like that don'tchaknow. do we have a rolls eyes emoticon? How's that? (Although a really big one would be better!) ETA: Shocking as it may be, I totally agree with you Heidi!
  15. Ok, in some circles it is being taken as gold that Clay has been dropped by RCA because he isn't on the "Artists" page. But, he's still there! If you just click on "Artists" from the main page he's not. But neither are most of their artists! There are only 21 of them on that page. But if you go to the drop down menu at the top of the page he's listed - along with 58 others. Should the 38 artist that aren't showing up on the "Artists" page worry that they have been dropped?? For that matter, when was the last time Clay was on that main "Artists" page? I know many WANT him to no longer be with RCA but he IS still listed as one of their artists! Frankly, unless he left RCA to be signed by another label, I would HATE for him to be dropped by RCA. Imagine how that would be spun!
  16. If it was the same crew Jerome spoke to when I was there. it was definitely not FBM. I don't want to go to work tomorrow!
  17. Hmmm. Sounds quite similar to the "discussion" he had with some Clay fans in the first row when I was there in October. Since I know some of them have been there every.single.time I have been at Spamalot it would be my guess it was likely the same people - again. Do they think what they are doing helps Clay, or somehow makes them special to Clay?? I don't have any tickets until the last show on January 4th. Feels weird to have so much time passing without seeing Spam! I miss it!
  18. Indeed. So glad you made that clear...... That picture of Clay makes me laugh! What an outfit!!
  19. And what a parade it was!!! I couldn't go like I did in 1980, but I watched it on my computer (odd to think the internet really wasn't even around in 1980!). I have no idea what the estimated numbers were but it was definitely bigger than last time - so many moons ago. Then there were the big rallies at the Eagles's stadium and at the Phillies ballpark and they raised the World Series banner. And the players were loving it! But for Jamie Moyer, our almost 46-year old pitcher who won 16 games this year, it had to be almost surreal. He grew up in the area and 28 years ago he cut school to attend the parade. And now he was in one! For his hometown club. Its amazing how winning a sports championship can lift a city. It really is very exciting. Clay content? Well he is very exciting too! TGIF!!!!!!
  20. Yup, painful was the word for it, cagney. Let's hope whenever they complete that game the pain will finally stop and be replaced by euphoria! How did I miss that adorable Tyra clip where she said she was talking to a friend - Clay Aiken - about voter registration...... - and they showed his gorgeous AMA look? How cool is it that they're friends who sit around and discuss stuff like that!!!
  21. Well its sure cold and icky here. They postponed the rest of game 5 until tomorrow when it will be a balmy 38 with wind chills in the 20's! Great baseball weather. Just hope it hurts them instead of us! And Aikim, I sympathize with you about the Cubs, but even though they haven't made a World Series in forever, as a franchise they have actually won more World series crowns than the Phillies! They won 2 forever ago and the Phillies only one - and "only" 28 years ago. And the Phillies have the dubious honor of being the losingest franchise in professional sports! Add to that, Philadelphia hasn't had a major sports team championship in 25 years when the 76ers won. Four teams, 25 years - that's 100 sport seasons without a championship! Can you see why this is so important to this city and its fans??? Tampa has only been around 10 years. Let them wait! Think I will download this new EIDN video. I think I need it! Awww. Kelly was there!!!! I did love shipping them! I still think they are adorable together. Glad they're still friends.
  22. Yup. I knew Jimmy - last year's MVP - was from your area! Well, well, well. This has to be the weirdest World Series ever! After the weather probably cost the Phillies the lead. They probably never should have started the game. It is tied now. The game is suspended. It will be picked up where they left off - whenever. The weather here doesn't sound good tomorrow - wind chills in the 20's! This is so typical of Philadelphia sports. There's a curse on us to be sure. Can you imagine the wind that was taken out of the Phillies' sails?? Our momentum was so good. Our best pitcher is now lost. Half the fans have probably lost their tickets stubs - or else they are so water soaked you can't read them - so they may play to a half empty stadium. And the fans are a HUGE part of our home field advantage. **Sigh** Only in Philadelphia. We don't get in a World Series very often. And now this........ For the first time in World Series history a game has been suspended. This can't be good for the Phillies.
  23. Well, Jaymes has been in his life for years now, and I don't doubt their friendship makes him happy or he wouldn't be as close to her as he is. And, I am sure becoming a father has given his life meaning in a way he probably never imagined. But, I have noticed this change in him too and it coincided with his coming out publicly. And that makes sense to me. He said it himself. He is proud of who he is and now he doesn't have to carry around the weight of that secret any more. No wonder he walks taller, is more comfortable in his celebrity role, looks proud and confident and is sexier as all get out! He is free to be himself, unburdened by secrets. I am so happy he is now free to be himself! I think it has really brought peace to his life. I am so tired. After not starting the World Series game until almost 10pm due to rain, the game didn't end until almost 2am! But the PHILLIES won so it was worth it! Now if they can only find a way to win 2 more....
