  1. Member Number 888 Checking in: I'm totally cheating and stealing JennaZ's post. I don't think I've posted since.....I forget when....come to think of it. But it's good news to me that this birth went well and everyone is healthy and happy. Last night I finished up all the work in my two summer courses. YAY!! You have no idea how loud that YAY is. It's loud! I have a whole week of fun here in Halifax until I have to back home.....though I'm not sure I'm all that crazy about becoming the bologna is the Russia/Georgia/Iran sandwich. I think my mother has called me 50 times with situation updates since Friday morning. But I have a Gala ticket, I have a plane ticket to Raleigh, and a room at the hotel. Sadly, no suitable garment that fits. I will get something when I get to Houston at the beginning of October.....note to eHP* When I make my flight reservation I will email each and everyone of you the itinerary with the date. Someone, please send me a note a few dates in advance to remind me that I have to be at the airport on said date and not the next day! John thought the whole thing was funny last time, but I think if I pull that one again.....he'll be a tad upset.* Ya know, I think I should offer to baby sit.....that way Jaymes could get some quiet time alone with her son. All that lullaby singing must get on your nerves after awhile. Gosh, it sure would be nice if there was a Christmas tour. A few months ago I would have taken the totally opposite stance but I'm getting antsy to see him sing to me again. I will do Christmas. I will do a Feast of the Epiphany Tour if he wants to do something on a smaller scale. Anything! {{Perma}} I never thought five years ago, I'd be living with two next door neighbors who seem to be at war with each other in a country where the only way out, by land, is through Iran. I honestly don't get the point of blasting the crap out of each other. I just hope those Georgians know the difference between a mig and an Airbus 320 at 10,000 feet. It's pretty dark, at midnight, out in the countryside up there. Anyway, as soon as I get home I'm turning my desk so I can see out the window. I'll look down into the courtyard of the Georgian Embassy......might have some heightened security on the laundry that dries on the front porch. And while I'm keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood, I'll work on the rest of my pictures from the last two tours. At least my mother can't call me over there..... OMG! I loved that Mo Rocca piece. AND I forgot to mention I went to New York last weekend with the family. At least I think I did...if I posted about this tell me to shut up.....saw Spamalot again since it is a fave of John's, and Drew Lachey's face on Clay's buses. It felt good see Schubert alley and remember iit wasn't all just a dream. (TM Hebert)..... I think we will get baby stories in concert, too, and maybe some acknowledgment of becoming a father in an interview. I wouldn't hazard a guess as to how much he will talk about the baby other than that. Sometimes it's hard not to, no matter how much you don't want to.....kind like me when I'm buying tickets for my 9th show on the Feast of the Epiphany Tour. :013085001176249046: I bet fatherhood hasn't affected its appearance in anyway.
  2. I hope I'm not too late to wish YSRN a Happy Birthday!! In the interest of getting this post up before more and more days pass, I'll skip the fancy greetings and just get to the point....Have a great one!! Happy Husqvarna owner here. I have had mine for a lot of years and love it. I don't have any designs on ever replacing it and haven't done more to it than the occasional tune up and cleaning. annabear, I am two days away from finishing up my summer session classes. I uploaded my final graphic design project tonight (WHEW!) and have a final in another course on Saturday which I have to write with a proctor at the public library here in Halifax. Proctoring is a service the library here provides for free. I can't imagine how many hands I would have to grease to get the same service in Baku. We are still getting the screws put to us by the freight forwarder who delivered our household goods a couple of weeks ago.....supposedly cleared of customs only...NOT! They seem to be freaking out over there and want another grand (in addition to the extra grand on top of the extra two grand they wanted in May). Apparently, our things will be considered contraband by the government after tomorrow, and I can't remember if I shipped all the photo negatives of the kids when they were little or I stored them. I had a project in mind and had them on the pile of stuff to go but I made some last minute decisions and I can't remember which way that one went. John is over here in Canada right now, so he can't look at the inventory. First thing in the morning I have to call Ali and tell him to go into the house and look for this red show box, and if he finds it....get it the hell out of there. Pronto! I wish John would just fork over the cash and be done with it, this is one of those no win situations. I can just tell. Watch us get our name on some list and when I try to get into the country with my 50 lbs of meat next week, I'll be supplying a barbecue behind some building at the airport. I have a feeling..... Speaking of which I went to Spamalot on Sunday night. It was fun but different. Drew Lachey was kind of endearing as Patsy and Marin Mazzee(?) was a pretty darn good Lady of the Lake. It was the last night for one of the girls in the chorus and she cried and cried during the curtain call. I'll dig out my Playbill one of these days so I can figure out which one it was. The new Sir Robin.....yawn. New York with the whole family is a pricey situation! I think I used up 2 years worth of touring funds in a weekend. The not-so-kids-anymore enjoyed themselves a lot though. Long Island....unreal. Mine was the arm that the groaning guitargirl gripped with her left hand as she moaned and shot her video with her right. I remember going home in the car and debating whether or not to even upload the footage. But I think we weren't in the door ten minutes and it was on its way. I thought he was funnier that night than any other night on a very funny tour. There was something about him that night that was very in-tune.....he was down right amazing that night. Since he stayed on the stool all night and I was sitting in the center of the auditorium, most of my pix from that night feature the mic more then anything. I also have some kicking around that I haven't uploaded but I seem to be without them right now. They must be about to go under customs lock and key in Baku. CRAP! Let's see can we dig a hole for the external hard drives in the garden? I had better go to bed, I've got a full day of studying tomorrow for that exam. My finished-my-project-celebratory beer is almost all gone....both of them.
  3. Very very very nice banner!! I got my gala tickets! I got a Dell laptop for my daughter last week. So far she really likes it. My husband has been using one for work since we moved to Baku, and I have an very old one in the closet...must be ten years old....and it still works. I DO love my HP though and I think John preferred the HP he had as a work laptop in Houston. The Dell was a pretty good price, and the fact that it came in colors was a plus with the kid. You have no idea how frustrating it is to talk tech specs to someone who appears to be listening and then says, "Does it come in red?" Like it was a purse or something.... Time to go download me some montages.
  4. I think this is the most nervous I have been before a ticket sale. I broke the news this morning to my husband that I had hopes of returning to the US in October for this gala and I didn't get any WTF? looks so that's a plus. Maybe this will turn out to be a good day all 'round. I'll be checking in to see how it's going and think of me in case something funky happens to my mother's neighbor's wireless router over the next little while. <<<------ That's me trying to be positive.
  5. I must take one little tip toe out of lurkerdom tonight. Have had it up to the eyeballs with homework and ditched it all to go have fish & chips with the kids earlier tonight. Maine...not all that different from where I'm sitting right now. I drive through it regularly but haven't been off the beaten path (other than to take Route 9 to Calais/St. Stephen) in quite a few years. I know we used to go to Old Orchard Beach back in the day. You can also see Stephen Kings house along Route 1 outside of Bangor, just ask where it is....everyone knows. I don't know where my favorite place to see Clay was. Clio ranks right up there at the top of my list and the Greek was mighty fine, too. For some reason the bad places stick out in my head more, though I must admit that much of my opinion is based on the goon-hood of those entrusted to gently enforce the camera not-a-policy. I seem to be partial to outdoor places, heat and humidity not withstanding. Maybe the prospect of getting some good aural sex and losing five pounds of water while I'm at it is too good to pass up. Maybe I'm just weird. I have been so many places I never thought I would be to see Clay but most of all I am damn grateful that he FINALLY got this copious ass to California. I thought I was never gonna get there! If I had to pick my favorite non-Clay place...gosh. I like New York. I am awfully fond of Houston, and the three years I spent in New Orleans were among the best years ever. I lived for six years in a small town on the Kenai Peninsula up there in Alaska. Nothing compares to the beauty and serenity of that place. And I didn't even have internet then. I don't know how I did it. Oh...yeah....I bowled a lot. I want to go back to Stockholm. Oh, no necks in that one....sorry! Let's try this one...light through a window. Shit, kf, what are they saying about me? And, yes, kf, I have long been very very fond of R & B myself and an R & B collection from Clay would be something else! There was one other thought in my head and it seems to have escaped me. I will babble, it will come. Thanks, luckiest, for the recap of the Macca concert the other night. Despite the difficulties it sounds like it was all worth it. Oh...oh...I remembered (luckiest's concert with her son jogged my memory). I'm going to NYC next week, too...with my family. We'll be there from the 31st until the 4th of August. I let the kids choose what they wanted to see but my son was really insistent he didn't want to see any Broadway shows. We are all kind of going our separate ways at times and since he is 24, that's fine if he goes off on his own. But I have been getting the Spamalot urge as the time approaches. Every now and again I mention how funny it is and how much I think he would enjoy it, and all I get is this sideways glance that says....:Hey, Mom, I know you are trying to hoodwink me into going to see Clay Aiken and I'm not falling for it." Why does the child (of 24) not believe me when I tell him that Clay isn't in it anymore? He believes me when I tell him I've spent his inheritance, why not this? I might just have to go alone....or with the father of the aforementioned Doubting Dennis......er.....Robert. ***Hi! Scarlett!!***
  6. No, experience with the University of Phoenix but I've been doing online classes for a few semesters now and I like it. I'm always taking one or two, and you really do need a fair bit of self-discipline. The thing is though, I really enjoy it so it isn't all that hard to make myself sit down and do it. The worst part are the time conflicts that happen when I'm traveling or doing that other thing......following somebody around the country. Couldn't do it without the trusty laptop. I am forever getting my debit card shut down by B of A's fraud protection department.....even though I gave them a list of the likely places I'm going to be. At first it was a little frustrating but one rejection and I know now to call and get it reinstated. John's been the victim of ID theft a few times now. Once with a card reader at a gas station, once when his card was stolen from his wallet at the gym, and another a few months after a trip to Mumbai some funky charges turned up on a credit card he had only used at the front desk of a five star hotel upon check-in. Investigation showed that the purchases had been made with a physical credit card, so someone used his number and name to manufacture a fake card. The bank was good for all of it, and they even caught the guy who stole his card at the gym when he tried to buy.....TV's at Walmart. Have a great time at the wedding, Char!! Do I need some content? Oh gosh..... :013085001176249046:
  7. Best of luck with the surgery, ldyj! cindiu, you're most welcome x infinity. Thanks you for the lovely banner today! I spent a little time last night re-watching the videos for Match 13. I think this is the shape of things to come in the tournament.....getting progressively harder. Anyway, after several runs through I am still with my first choice of the Worcester WDC. Like I said in the forum over there, I can imagine a lot of things I would like to do against it, but voting isn't one of them. :013085001176249046: I'm going to run off and do some homework. I really think I am going to skip the next semester (famous last words) but before I go, I'll find a pretty picture.... And I seem to be having somewhat of a thigh day. These really were a nice pair of pants.
  8. I'll be trying to get a ticket on the 28th, too. Were there problems with the site crashing last year? I didn't pay any attention to the process since I wasn't planning to go. Can one person by 2 tickets.....is there a limit? Any hints from people who got them last year?
  9. Well, that was a really tough one but I got all sentimental, too and voted for Clay’s butt….er……WDC. I wonder whatever happened to those white pants of Angela’s. She could probably put her son through college on what she could get for them. **peers into Stub Hub Meet & Greet Savings Plan Cookie Jar……4 quarters, 2 dimes and a nickel. But I have lots of time.** Heidi, my field camp was up in Nova Scotia. I eventually ended up doing groundwater studies for the Department of the Environment. shirljan, are you in town this week? Send me one of those email things. I am up to the eyeballs in homework but want to hang out before you disappear. So, as some of you well know by now I didn’t make it to Houston on Thursday like I had been planning for quite some time. I sure had a lot of things to do down there, pick up my car and new laptop for the kid, get the mail, go to a wedding, pick up my textbooks for the fall, refill some prescriptions and last but not least….party with my girls, the eHP. Since I feel real comfortable with you all, I’ll let you in on what a dumbass I am…..there are people who will read this and shudder when they think about how many times I have made their arrangements for Clay trips. I care not to think about what might have happened if this were a Clay trip….I know what I would have done and it scares me. Carolyn and I left Baku on Monday the 7th, stayed overnight in London caught a glimpse of the palace, bought some socks at Harrod’s, and saw Les Miz. We got into Halifax on Tuesday afternoon. That gave us almost 48 hours to get ready for a week long trip down and back to Houston to take care of all those aforementioned things. Our flight is to leave Halifax at 3:15 on Thursday the 10th. That afternoon we are pulling up to the departure drop off when Carolyn puts her hands to her face and exclaims, “OMG! I forgot my passport!. Well…shit. We turn around and head back to the city and if our flight is on time it’s going to be a close one. Luck was on our side and we did the turn around back to the airport with passport in hand in less than 35 minutes. Funny thing, though, it was MY passport Carolyn had in her possession and left behind. The Canada Customs guy must have mixed them up when we came in on Tuesday, I guess. We booted it upstairs to US departures and much to our relief we are not too late to get on the flight. The agent starts to print our boarding passes and then stops. She asks me if I had ever made any changes to the reservation and I said, “No.” “Well,” she says…..”You were booked for yesterday the 9th, not today. I say, “HUH?” And after much conferring and help desk calling I’m told that I’m SOL my flight left without me on Wednesday and my tickets were canceled…..too bad, so sad, sucks to be you. There were, however, available seats on the plane if I wished to purchase new tickets….one ways for $786 a piece. So…..I really don’t believe that she means it when she says we can’t go. It all seemed too bizarre and I have no idea how I ended up with seats on the 9th. (I admit I booked them myself online but I never INTENDED to go on the 9th and this was obviously some kind of accident….my story and I’m sticking to it.) I need to look back at the time of day I made the booking. I have been known to do things in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping. I really don’t know what happened. I just know my tickets were for a day earlier and that was that. I didn’t get very far with the Continental agents at all and told Carolyn we were going home. She commented that “If Dad were here we would be getting on.” HA! If Dad were there we would have been going to jail instead of Houston. So that is my sad tale of woe and why I didn’t get to Houston. If it had of been a Clay trip, I would have forked over the money for the tickets and a nice amount to buy the silence of my daughter. We were a pretty dejected pair of travelers sitting at the airport Tim Horton’s canceling hotel reservations and tracking down a decent price for a rental car for the next month. I think this was the one time I didn’t open my confirmation email when it came. Dumbass! Thanks for all the lovelies up there. I am the bitch of the AMA hair. I take a daily dose of it every day. For some good news our things arrived in Baku on Saturday. The bad news is they want another $450 for customs certificates before they will deliver it to us. The math for this one is 6 certificates at $75 a piece. I can only assume that 6 is the number of guys who work in the customs office, and I bet each and every one of them has a stamp….that they bought themselves…..and that $450 will have to be in cash. But I can't honestly complain. See, the thing is……if that had of been an airline agent in Baku…..fifty bucks would have gotten us both on that plane….a hundred, maybe even first class.
  10. If Clay Aiken were a desert? Easy one....Sex-in-a-Pan. Or anything where I get to lick his the wooden spoon. :00003653: kimiye Birthday cake is a good desert, too. There is like this HUGE long story about why I am NOT in Houston this week but I have to save it for tomorrow. You really want the long detailed version, right? Humor me, okay? Char, you will be a body guard in no time. OMG! My why I'm not in Houston story reminds me of a certain tale from long ago.....er....I mean from Long Island....though that was long ago, too. *sigh* YAY! I just got an email. My stuff has arrived in Baku and is now getting the touchy-feely from customs. I'll have my summer clothes for the last two weeks of August when I get back there! Does it get any better than this? Facetious & rhetorical in the face of only one pair of sandals making it home with me this time. Heidi-Ho, I so remember field camp from back in the day. I graduated with my geology degree back in '75 and before I finally got hired to work in my field, in the field, I heard...."We'd like to take you but the wives of the guys will freak out with you in camp, and a second camp isn't in the budget. I think I spent the first six months of my career with a box of 48 Prismacolors and a bunch of contour maps. Having admitted that I graduated from college 33 years ago, this post is set to self-destruct in 37 seconds.
  11. *Sigh* Yep, that's me changed forever. *Sigh* Remember, he came into chat and answered my question...made a typo of my name and I was re-dubbed. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! Ooops! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Tomorrow I get to pack my few measly articles of summer clothing into one of those many suitcases in there. My plane leaves on Monday morning! Would have been nice if our stuff, which docked in Istanbul in the middle of June had made its way here before I had to leave. Most of my summer clothes and sandals are in Iran somewhere, still. That is assuming they've left Turkey. Thank God, I have my Columbia flips with me! I would be traveling barefoot. Like Gandhi.....just not quite as serene or benevolent. At least the travel agent got our seats figured out so that Carolyn is no longer sitting on my lap all the way from London to Halifax. Build Me Up Buttercup......I noticed him before this one. Definitely noticed. But that night, I sat UP and took notice. I remember the feeling like it was yesterday and that chair wasn't in storage. No one was home and I had my first major "Holy Sh*t" moment with Clay. Which reminds me Happy Belated Birthday to muski!! And Lotus you cracked me up, too. That was one funny line! Measure of a Man turned out to be one of my long term favorites from the 1st CD. Early on it was okay but it was the song I most looked forward to in last summer's tour. Had to vote for it in the tourney. My God, he looked so young! Akim, that was a great post. What a great feeling to know that you touched him like that. Very cool. I have the hardest time finding conversations over at the OFC. People talk about this and that thing that happened there or is happening and when I go looking, I seem to be at a loss most of the time. Maybe things are deleted before I get there and that's my trouble. I was digging in the Frisco folder yesterday, too, looking for something for a class project. What a good time that was! zena where the hell are you, girl? keepingfaith, I talked to guitargirl for a very few minutes today but we didn't have time to get into a long reminiscence. What a crazy weekend that was....with the best fireworks ever! I've always been kind of partial to this one. (come to think of it, my best camera, that Nikon, is in that truck somewhere in Iran! Or I hope it's in that truck...)
  12. Just wanted to let you know that the site that hosts the polls that the Broads are using for the tournament is down. That's why, luckiest, there weren't any voting buttons this morning. Danielle says that she's used this site before for other polls and this happens sometimes. It's usually back up and running within a day or so. She's going to hold off posting more, and keep the ones that are there now, up, until the site is working again. :013085001176249046:
  13. There are two more matches supposed to be posted tonight on the LBFCA Video Tournament. Tournament is here http://lbfca.diaryland.com/index.html . If you want to access the board forum, which moved to a new host yesterday, it's here. The Purple Pages I'm not sure if the old links still work or not. The forum can be accessed from the LBFCA Main Page, as before, but if you ever used a direct link, it might not be working now. All of the tournament information is at the tournament link, but there might be some background stuff posted in the forum now and again. JBT stuff? What's that?
  14. ***Waves to couchie*** Who seems to have logged off while I was catching up. I couldn't agree with you more. In fact, once I heard he had gone to Somalia, I gave up my seat near the McDonald's in Fountain Square. link please..I always get lost over there and is it something we can do/see later? I edited in a link in the first post so I just quoted myself. Karen Eh? posted about this earlier--It's all on their site. And yes, you can do it later. I don't know how long each video will be up. If I find out, I'll edit that in to this post. OK--every day there will be one or two videos. There are 16 pairs, 32 videos. There's a downloadable spreadsheet if you want to keep track. Kind of like the NCAA brackets. Heh. The scoop is here: http://lbfca.diaryland.com/tournament.html Bolding mine......The videos were paired up by random drawing so the combinations are definitely going to be interesting. That was the idea...to keep the whole thing a little off beat, a little head scratching, and I think it can add a degree of difficulty in making the choices. Like, I have a favorite ATD video (Martha Stewart) and if that went up against any other ATD video then I'm going to vote for that one. But if it's up against something else like say Suspicious Minds from the JBT, what am I going to choose? I don't know. We also hoped people would talk about some of their favorites that were left out. I think, too, that the choices were limited by what could be found on You Tube. I was surprised at some of the things that are NOT. Some of us had a very enjoyable weekend going down memory lane and I have to give huge kudos to Lecherous Broad Danielle who came up with the idea and built the tournament. Should be fun!
  15. Oh, that is a very pretty picture. There's a fun little diversion brewing over at the LBFCA that you might want to keep an eye on. It hasn't started quite yet, but it won't be long in coming. Neither will you, I suppose, if you decide to participate. I dumped the homework and finished up a long a*s blog tonight. It's here, Sally Rand McNally but you'll need to take a bathroom break first. It's a long one. I take my validation for length where ever I can find it. And with that, it's time for me to go to bed. *Muah*
  16. And I know how to knit, too..... :PickMe-1: It was really only our first date but she gave up Paul McCartney for me! Yes, I miss Spam too. Last night I was making plans with the kids for what they wanted to see and do when we go to NYC the first weekend of August. We're sucking up the gas prices and driving an SUV with 5 people and all that luggage from Halifax to New York. To balance out the higher cost of the gas, I found us a hotel in Tarrytown and a lot in the city where I can park for $26 per 24 hours. Goodbye Omni Berkshire, hello Springhill Suites with free internet and breakfast. Anyway, we've decided to split up sometimes (I think most of the time) so we can all get to do what we want the most. My daughter and my son's girlfriend want to see "Grease" so I'll go along with them. My son isn't interested in Broadway, but I'm curious about "In the Heights" Anyone seen it? "Spring Awakening" was another one that pinged my radar, too. So many choices, so little time. It's my son's first time in New York, a place in his dreams he wanted to study, so he is beyond excited about the whole thing. He's the 24 year old kid with no driver's license, so walking is his thing and he can cover a lot of ground in a very short time. I will follow in a cab. I can't wait to get back to Houston, even though my time there will be short. We'll definitely make the most of it! And calurker, I know where you live! Get back in here. I'll see you in a few weeks, too. Me and you and my Clay-lovin' aunt are going to dinner.....no lurking behind the menu. :bier: So that's a couple of beers....there ain't nuthin' wrong with pub food is there? The rest of my week is unfortunately going to be dedicated to trying to cram two weeks of school work and a midterm project into the next six days. Ugh! One week from today, I'll be on that plane to London (We got some 5th row seats to see Les Mis....FINALLY getting to see this!) and on the 8th Carolyn and I get back to Halifax. Two day turn around, and on to Houston the 10th. I just really wanna sit here and play with these..... I can't believe it's almost a year since the Houston concert. This week last year the eHP was hot and heavy into getting ready to play hosts. The party itself turned out be a blast but sometimes I think the getting ready was even more fun. (If I don't count the part about sitting in traffic for hours trying to get from the Woodlands to Birra's with a car load of party favors. Honestly, I had never seen so much freakin' rain, EVER!) Anyway, I have to go figure out why my the web page I made for one of my assignments won't display the margins I set for it in CSS. The code is there dang it! But I think I missed a fundamental somewhere. Okay......fixed it! DUH! Is all I have to say about that. One last one before I disappear for a while....
  17. Gosh....Third quilting instructor checking in.....though it's been over 5 years since I taught anybody anything. But it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done, beginning sometime in the early 90's and continuing for about 10 years. I once had the basement of my house finished to use as space for classes....I spent a lot of time down there in my warren with my stash all arranged by size and color on shelves. Then we were transfered. *Sigh*.Most of the stash went into rubbermaids in the new city and I worked at a quilt shop and did my classes there. I hate to say it but I haven't picked up a between in a few years....BUT....you guys and your wonderful creations are inspiring me to start again. Even though I haven't touched a project since.....oh.....late 2003, I did ship several rubbermaids of choice pieces of cotton, 2 queen size batts, 10 meters of muslin, one sewing machine, a cutting board, 2 rotary cutters with extra blades blades, 12 quilt books, 23 magazines, 4 pigma pens, 2 pair of gingher scissors, my applique scissors, my applique iron, freezer paper, 8 sheets of heat resistant mylar, an assortment of threads, a package of #12 betweens, various and sundry other things that HAD to come with me, 6 UFO's.......and......my best friend in the whole wide world . Too bad all of this stuff is somewhere in Iran. No sign of that truck yet. Anyway, I don't have any digital pix of any of my quilts since when I was quilting, I didn't own a digital camera. I have one wall hanging with me here in Baku. I put it in my suitcase and brought it with me in March. I'll go find it and take a photo of it tomorrow......er ......later today. And I, too, am a lover of the word baby, in all its incarnations....bay-bay, bay-bee, and my mostest favorite....bay-beh. :013085001176249046: And I cannot lie.......
  18. It's like ten minutes to four in the morning and I haven't read more than this last page since Thursday (went out to the country for a couple of days) but I figured I should post a little note to let the eHP know when I am going to be in Houston. I'm getting in around 10:30 on Thursday night, July 10th, with my daughter, and will be in town Friday and Saturday, on Sunday I'm taking my car and heading up to Canada via Little Rock, Roanoke and Tewkesbury, Mass. So I'm around Friday and Saturday but Saturday night would be the best time for me to get together with everybody. I have a bunch of errands to do in the daytime both days. How does dinner and beyond on Saturday night the 12th sound? Time for me to go to bed. But I wanted to let you know I am alive.....this coming week is going to be nuts so if you don't hear from me for awhile, just look down at the bottom of the page. I've often got the window open while I'm on the computer. Wave at me or something. Yep, and he has a very nice one. I can think of a few people who'd love to be on it. Like I said.......it's four o'clock...in the morning. .
  19. Oh my gosh! Three favorite songs? Tough one Miss Scarlett. It's like asking me to take three potato chips out of the bag, then put the rest in the cupboard. But....in the non-Clay category I'm going to say Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me, Al"..that for some reason is my most favorite song ever. Go figure. So that one was easy. The other two are tough but I'll go with "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Up the Lazy River.".......or "At Seventeen." I don't know!! I'm taking four due to time zone differences. Clay songs? I'm awfully partial to "Broken Wings", so that's go to be one. Then I guess "Forget I Ever Knew You" and "Tears Run Dry." That was hard. I reserve the right to come back in ten minutes and change them all. Yep, claygasm, I think this is absolutely why he won't sing it. He doesn't like the song but holdin' back that little sumthin' sumthin' is just too much damn fun. I'd bet he'll sing it one day, too, when no one is asking for it anymore. Here comes one Touch right upside the head when we aren't looking. In the meantime, it's kind of fun for me to watch him watch us stew. That would be one first concert I would be so upset to miss! A belated Happy Birthday to, ansa!! :fest09: Good news today! The boat with our stuff (that was packed and taken away on February 26th) docked in Turkey yesterday. I might actually have some summer clothes before I go back home on the 7th....um.....maybe not. It still has to get here through the mountains and be picked over by customs. Anyway, finally have some concrete news. When I called to check on it last week with the local agent, she said...."Oh, I'm sure it's on its way."
  20. Let's see, bottle...I'm thinking maybe you could get away with it in the bus line, but I'd steer away from saying anything while he's on stage. You might affect the appearance/disappearance of said hose and then you'd have ME to answer to. Oh, I think she could save it for an appropriate time.......like when he lifts up his pant legs to show us his socks. Paul Simon also said that "You Can Call Me Al", or whatever the song is titled, was written after a famous author (I am guessing Norman Mailer) showed up drunk as a skunk to a dinner party Simon and his then-wife Carrie Fisher gave, in NYC. The guy called them Betty and Al all night, they thought it was a hoot. Simon's Graceland album, to me, is one of the bestest albums evah! And I seem to remember that "Mother & Child Reunion" is the name of a Chinese food dish.....just some more food for thought.
  21. Oh.....WOW! I knew something BIG was up the moment I came to the boards last night and found them more crowded than Schubert Alley on May 4th. I'm happy for them if this all turns out the be true and overall I'm totally amused and amazed at how many times I've been blindsided by the things that Clay has "reportedly" done. I, also, can't seem to get the picture of a hunched over guy, hidden beneath a hoodie, making his way down a hallway to a bathroom carrying a cup....followed by a seven foot bodyguard. The alternative scenario is one I've pictured many times......insert partner of choice here. So, no stretch there. We had company for dinner last night and the post meal bottles of wine dragged on and on......finally we ran out....and the evening was over. About an hour before they went home I began to get very restless and suddenly wanted everyone gone. That's a hell of a long way to feel the buzz....not the wine buzz, the buzz buzz! WOW! Can I picture him making the decision to father a child with someone he isn't romantically involved with? Actually, I can in this case, most definitely. One way, or another, he loves him some Jaymes Foster. And I love him, so we're good.
  22. cha cha, yes, they do work. They're choppy but the choppiness is just due to my internet connection. I do better with them now, when everyone is asleep and I've played lowered the default settings....but they are still buffering some. I"m just glad I got to see them at all!
  23. I think I am going to throw up. "We're sorry the clip you are trying to play is not available in your area." I think this was the same message I got when I was in Halifax and there were some videos put up on an AOL site back in April......Pop Eater? Some webisodes or something? Dammit!! I used to be able to get AOL videos when I wasn't in the USA. Should I blame regulators or money grubbers for this one? Crap!! Thanks for the details and the caps. I'll run down to the office in the morning, print them out and make a flip book. If someone could cap those hands stroking the mic stand I'll print and extra copy just for them. cha cha. ..you need a son, my one and only first born is on his way to you. :big hug:
