Ansamcw
Aww so sorry you were all by yourself Muski.... I had an early night last night... but about the topic you brought up....hee I am a BELIEVER!!!! :00000441: :00000442: yup not a fold and he is very good to us!!!! I have been distracting myself from the Clay world a bit cos I didn;t want to get all stressed with the waiting...all the rumors...good and bad about the CD is really making me very impatient. So best solution, get busy with other things. I see the pinmakers have been busy too since he ware getting a lot of new pins... about the emoticons...I guess we got the new ones for the party so we ended up with drinking and angels... does that make us angelic drunks? :13: ok this emoticon... :5: reminds me of the bipolar nature of this fandom... bottlecap
ok this emoticon... reminds me of the bipolar nature of this fandom... The sinner and the saint fight the battle within, eh, Ansa? [There are a lot of angels and it might not hurt to get the number of emoticon choices pared down a bit. It's a long scroll to get to the "Add Reply" button.] I will admit to cheating, and watching the Kenny episode of Scrubs last night. Love ya Kenny, you enormous dork! I'm anxious to hear Sarah Chalke's commentary on the show, but I'm not sure I'll be home to see the episode in real time tonight. I'll definitely miss the first part of AI, which, since they're killing Stevie Wonder songs, might not be such a bad thing. On the other hand, I hate to feel like I'm out of the loop, so I'll probably have to tape it and fast forward through. I can't give up an opportunity to pontificate on the quality of the performances to my co-workers. I've got an audience I can't disappoint! KAndre
Oh man I just listened to the commentary and it is so very clear how much Sarah just luuuuuuuv her some VOX. And she thinks Clay is very talented. Such a sensible girl. Reminder - our little podcast thingee site is moving along a pace - if you have an interest in spreading your point of view in the Clay World on a one-sided basis (and you wonder why I'm attracted to that - though I expect a lot of feedback as to how much my newly indoctrinated minions just love me and Clay to death), pm or email me and I will send you details! Couch Tomato
OK I trimeed the emoticons from the first page but they are all still there under SHOW ALL. I have more to add..other than drunk bananas and precious angels heee. Will do that QUITE soon. heh. I'm ready to plan a party as soon as I get a real honest to goodness drop date. I'm throwing myself into basketball. Between March Madness and the fight to get in the NBA playoffs my nights are full. You're having cabernet Muskifest? I should have joined you for lunch! bottlecap
Cool find by 43dudleyvillas - a mention of Clay in the Ask Billboard column: ACHIN' FOR AIKEN Hi, When is Clay Aiken going to release his next studio album? I've read some news saying that he started working on it back in March 2005 but there is still no news about its release date. Do you have any idea when will it be released? I've also read that he might be collaborating with Faith Hill and Martina McBride. Is that true? Yours sincerely, Ronald Tai Penang, Malaysia Hello Ronald, Right now, Clay Aiken's forthcoming RCA studio album is tentatively slated for release in May or June. It's the follow up to "Measure of a Man," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 in 2003. It has sold 2.7 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Aiken also released a holiday set, "Merry Christmas With Love," in November 2004. It reached No. 4 on The Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top Holiday Albums chart and has moved 1.2 million in America. As for what you've heard about Aiken working with Faith Hill and Martina McBride, it's only a rumor. Nothing we don't know, but EEEEEEE! anyway. playbiller
I guess as an oldtimer, emoticons are pretty alien to me, the old bulliten boards did not support them way back when. Most ofthe boards I posted on since then did not support them either. As long as I don't have a hundred dancing bananas (major overkill), I really don't care one way or another. I do have an issue with signatures though. It is like people placing ads on the boards - t is the same thing over and over and takes time to load and is a pain to scroll through. They are very popular though, perhaps I go to too many boards and just want to speed scroll through them. Most boards, I even kill avatars just to save time. Clay content - ? It has to be killing him to stay so quiet - I bet he wants to shout about his album and play it for all of us - I think they probably pulled out the big guns for this album, but the haters will still be there and refuse to listen with unbiased ears - and the fandom will survive. I must be way to over the top in phrasing lately, I think I killed a conversation at the Ch about the "new" Clay. I really just don't want people to decide what they want ahead of time and then be all disappointed, not my job to decide I thought I was just expressing an opinon and then all conversation stopped. I remember how some people got all upset about the JBT this year, just from hearing about the theatrical stuff, but then loved it when they saw it. Of course there were some who did not even bother to go to the show because they decided they did not want to see a play and they had seen the video clips - their loss. And there were people who went into the show knowing it had elements the did not like, hoping to be wrong and ended up hating it, because taste is subjective. Well, with all the information we have, get and share, I just feel that some preconceived notions get placed in cement and that the people who have decided what they want ahead of time, are bound to be disappointed. I like to discuss the possibilities, I just don't like them spoken as definites without more information. whine
bottlecap
Facts, smacts, playbiller. Speculation and pre-whining about something you know nothing about, and then disclaiming that you ever complained in the first place are the way to go, dontcha know. Thanks for the emoticon change, Couchie! [What, when did I ever whine about it? Huh, surely not me! ] I can find my usual smilies easily, and can access the dancing bananas if the occasion calls for it. A good compromise! playbiller
Well, I am just way to sensitive and whiney. On the postivie side, I am not surprised that someone from Malaysia would write asking about Clay's album, I think he would kill in Asia. I think of all the Korean fans he has based on a slight exposure in a camera commercial and how he won over many hearts in Malaysia last year weh he went to the Tsunami fund raiser and spoke in the local toungue. I heard that Ruben bombed in Japan (they put him on v without a transaltor and he could not understand what people were asking), but I can see them falling for Clay because in many ways he could easily be an anime character. Heck, he would probably learn a little Japanese if he was asked on a show. This was not meant to disparage Ruben, but he was in his first rush of his album and was probably appearing every where and this is in the same time frame where he said he was exhausted all the time and had to lay down whenever he could. Ansamcw
In the beginning of this fandom I used to really enjoy the speculation. The problem is...often the speculations are taken as facts or as expert opinions. The truth is...although we have people in the fandom that have extensive knowledge of the industry, they are still outsiders looking in. We do not have inside info that may explain the strategies that are in place. I don't know if Clay will be coming out as the new Clay...I would think the 2nd CD Clay will be mre true to his age and personality. The snarky, strong, opinionated and often naughty guy. Just the way he always has been.
bottlecap
Hee. A quick blog from Clay to remind us that a certain medical sitcom is on tonight that we might want to watch, even if it is on against a popular talent contest. Is that paraphrased well enough? Yes, master whatever you say.
bottlecap
Do not miss the video on the Scrubs site titled "Is Ken Jenkins a 'Claymate' ". You have to hear his description of his reaction to hearing Clay sing for the first time. Just Wow. I am as cynical as they come, but his description was really very moving. Scrubs seems like it has been so good to Clay, and the cast sincerely seemed to like him. I'd love to see Clay / Kenny as a reoccuring character. Unfortunately, I think Scrubs doesn't get the best ratings, and may not be renewed next season, which is a bummer.
KAndre
Oh man, I am the least sentimental person I know - and I even teared up over that! I wub Ken Jenkins! It was so sweet I need to be tested for diabetes! And I loved ever sugary second!
playbiller
One of the other videos has a quick mention about Clay singing acapella and bringing the house down. I invited trekkietoo to join us for AI results tomorrow. Seems like there is a little more Clay in the AI talk here, as you well know.
Couch Tomato
I love Ken Jenkins. I'm in the midst of re-watching Homefront (my favorite show ever, slightly ahead of the first few seasons of Moonlighting and season 1 and 2 of The Practice) and he was absolutely fabulous on that show. Thanks for alerting me to the video...don't want to miss it. Has it been ripped from the site yet? Sounds like a keeper. I love Clay! I love his humour. Yes Clay I'll watch Scrubs again. Anything else? waves to trekkiboo..we met in Atlanta!!
Ansamcw
OMG jsut watched that clip and it was so thrilling to hear their reaction to Clay. I think he truly did impress the people in that show. I would've loved to hear that acapella... I think Clay's voice really lose something when they record it...cos I bet what they heard in the studio was even more fantastic than what he heard on TV... GAH!!!! I miss him!!!! specially after watching the train wreck American Idol Tonight. Clay would've been fantastic singing Stevie wonder songs.
Couch Tomato
Wow, I'm not watching AI but even my mom came in my room talking about everybody just can't sing Stevie. Charles Grisby could sing Stevie. Ya'll aren't even tempting me to watch this year's crop. Clay can sing Stevie.

Chris rocked the house tonight on AI....Mandisa sounded good, but not great. Katherine sounded very good. Paris sorta grew on me... But GOD...I kept biting my lip to stop myself from saying over and over and over...how Clay would KILL on that song...and that song...and... You get my drift... bottlecap
All the recent talk about Stevie Wonder songs and Clay's Signed, Sealed, Delivered and whatnot have made me drag out the NAT 2004 CD. Man, that really was a great set of songs. Can't wait to see what's in store for the Back for More Tour 2006. News soon. please! Couchie, thanks for the download from Ken Jenkins. That clip deserves a place of honor in the Clack firmament. Just great. And just 'cause I don't want the 'nanas to think I'm neglecting them:
ldyjocelyn
The Ken Jennings clip? OMG, what a fantastic piece of clack...and Clay's barely seen in it. I think Clay must have made a HUGE impression on these folks...and that makes me smile. Gossip mongers? Tabloid writers? Asshole DJs? Nope, don't care. People who have worked with Clay and have seen first hand how Clay operates? Yes -- that's who I believe. I'll be streaming that clip more than a few times in the next week.
