I got an email from the ladies that are organizing a ticket donation fundraiser for the Boston Concert...here is her update:

We are working with the Crossroads Family Shelter in

East Boston & have received several tix, but are still in need of quite

a few more. We'd like to give some to a local battered women's home as

well. So I want to encourage anyone who has extra seats for the August

28 show who either can't sell them or can afford it to please consider

mailing them to:

HomeFair

c/o Pamela Like

150 Leyden St.

Boston, MA 02128

Please include your screen name & home board, your actual name & mailing

address & whether or not you'll be at the show. You'll get an immediate

email confirmation of your gift & then after the concert, the recipients

of your ticket(s) will mail you a thank you note, hopefully with a bit

of detail about their experience. I'll also make sure that Clay gets a

card with a list of everyone who contributed to this worthy cause.

Thanks again!

Just a reminder that the The Way We Make a Difference Ticket Donation Project is once again accepting tickets or cash for the upcoming Joyful Noise Tour #2.

While Christmas is coming early for the Pacific Northwest, those who benefit from this project will have memories of that voice and the joy Clay exudes that will last a lifetime.

To make a donation or for more information please visit their website:

http://www.thewaywemakeadifference.org

or

email them at:

ticketdonation@thewaywemakeadifference.org

Have participated in this project either with cash or direct ticket donation from its beginnings and am in awe of what they can accomplish. This project is managed by a group from several boards and is independent of any board. Have witnessed first-hand the smiles on faces of special needs individuals enjoying Clay's concerts. It is an absolutely priceless experience, and donating funds for a portion of one ticket can help make such a difference to one person at a time.

And they have the cutest pin as a "thank you" gesture.

A message from Laurie Weishar, Founder of Scrapping 4 Inclusion.

I would like to introduce to you Scrapping 4 Inclusion and also to our addition of a Café Press Store. One more way Scrapping 4 Inclusion is helping to raise awareness and funds for TBAF!

The Scrapping 4 Inclusion program and the Café Press Store addition are both BAF approved fundraising initiatives.

Scrapping 4 Inclusion is a program where volunteers across the USA are organizing a Scrapbooking Crop to raise funds and awareness for the Foundation. These crops are a fantastic way for the scrapbookers in each community to get together, have fun, and preserve their photos while raising awareness and funds for the Foundation. If you are a scrapbooker please check out the program. If you know someone who is involved in scrapbooking I encourage you to let them know what we are doing so that they can get involved.

Introducing the Café Press Store:

Logo Products (Scrapping 4 Inclusion & TBAF logos) including T-shirts, mugs, magnets, hoodies and much more.

All proceeds go directly to The Bubel/Aiken Foundation

CafePressBanner.png

A banner has been designed that can be placed in message board signatures, on blogs, in email messages etc. to help promote this initiative. We are very appreciative of the fact that the Clay Aiken fans are very supportive of the Foundation so we wanted to ensure that you all knew about Scrapping 4 Inclusion and the Café Press products.

If you have read the recent letter from Jerry Aiken, Executive Direction TBAF then you know that the Foundation has set a goal of 100 camps for 2008. The challenge lies with creating awareness as much as raising funds. If you have the funds but nobody out there knows what the Foundation does or about their programs then there won’t be anyone out there implement the new programs. Creating awareness is critical and you can all help with that.

Supporting the Scrapping 4 Inclusion initiative by helping to spread the word to the scrapbookers out there will help to achieve these goals. If you aren’t a scrapbooker you can still help support the Foundation through purchasing the logo products or by simply sharing the information with your friends, family and associates.

I encourage you to check out the program and logo products and if you able to put the banner in your signature on-line or in your blog that would be greatly appreciated. Pass the information on to all of your friends, fans and non fans. Many of them may support the foundation and there’s a chance that your non-fan friends might be scrapbookers and be interested in the products for that reason. The coding is below for both HTML and IMG (not sure which one is needed in what locations so I have provided both).

Please HELP us HELP the Foundation to HELP the children that could potentially be attending those 100 camps next year.

If you have any questions about the Scrapping 4 Inclusion program please feel free to email me at info@scrapping4inclusion.com

HTML CODE:

Simply copy this code to your blog, message board signatures, web sites etc.

IMG CODING:

Thank you so much for your support. Word of mouth is the best way to advertise and I am personally asking each of you to use your VOICE to help spread the word.

Color me stupid, I guess, but I don't understand this scrapping for Inclusion project. I understand that we can buy products from the BA/F store, and the proceeds go to help the camps, but what are the people who are scrapping doing to raise money? Is it just a chance for people to get together and share photos and talk about BA/F? I'm lost.......As usual....... :cryingwlaughter:

Thanks Ansamcw. That's what I meant. That fans can order products from Cafe Press that have the logo Scraping for Inclusion on them and it goes to BA/F......However did the fans put that together or did BA/F? Are there groups of fans who get together and scrapbook? Is there something they do to raise money with the scrapebooks? I was just curious, because all I can figure out is that you can just buy stuff and put a banner in your siggie. :cryingwlaughter: Thanks for responding. I hope it raises a lot of money.

From what I can read on their site, it looks like they organize different vendors to get together to sell scrappinbg supplies (and as I know from my sister, those who scrapbook needs ALL KINDS of supplies), but the benefits go to the BAF. It actually sounds like a pretty cool moneymaker for the BAF. Clayzor, I'm actually glad you asked because I never really could figure it out either, but now I know.

Press release for scrapping 4 inclusion calendar:

Scrapping 4 Inclusion Announces 2008 Calendars

NewswireToday - /newswire/ - Calgary, Alberta, Canada, 10/23/2007 - Scrapping 4 Inclusion is proud to release a 2008 Calendar to benefit The Bubel/Aiken Foundation (TBAF). The Foundation was co-founded by Clay Aiken & Diane Bubel in 2003 to serve children with special needs and the goal of inclusion for ALL.

Digital Designer Erin Hooper and published poet Sally Meyer teamed up with Scrapping 4 Inclusion to create a beautiful, inspirational calendar to help spread the word about the importance of inclusion for ALL children and the mission of TBAF. This work of art has something to offer everyone, from scrapbook layout ideas to beautiful poetry and inspirational writings to some great photos of children simply living life to the fullest, together with no boundaries. Photos featured in the calendar include children with and without disabilities playing together at Let’s ALL Play Camps, participating in the Let’s ALL Scrapbook program as well as photos showcasing volunteers and TBAF staff working with the children. Also included are photos of one of the Scrapping 4 Inclusion fundraising events.

Erin Hooper, graciously donated her time and creativity to this project. Erin is a photographer and digital scrapbooker / artist from Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.

Products used for the calendar were graciously donated by Scrap Girls. Scrap Girls is making it simple and fun to become a great digital scrapbooker. They are a web-based company offering Digital Scrapbooking Supplies, Educational Movie Tutorials and eBooks, and Commercially Licensed Graphic Design Products. Scrap Girls also puts out an email newsletter six days a week full of inspiration, tutorials and digital scrapbooking freebies and they offer a free beginner’s eBook for anyone needing help understanding where to start with digital scrapbooking. Visit their website for more information.

Writing contributions for the calendar were provided by Sally Meyer. Growing up in England, Sally learned to enjoy the simpler, slower side of life. At the age of 23, she immigrated to Utah, where she married and raised eight children and two husbands. When her eighth child was diagnosed with autism, she turned to her favorite means of problem solving and soul searching—her pen and paper/keyboard. She wrote poems about living with a son who has a disability. Then going a step further she created a year-long journal of his life, which she one day hopes to publish. Sally's poetry has been published in magazines, books and many websites. She recently branched out into the world of screenwriting and has completed four full length feature scripts and a television series.

Scrapping 4 Inclusion volunteers also provided their heartfelt words describing their experiences during the Let’s ALL Scrapbook program for publication in this calendar.

The calendars can be purchased from the Scrapping 4 Inclusion Café Press store at cafepress.com/s4i. You can also find links to purchase the calendars from the Scrapping 4 Inclusion website and The Bubel/Aiken Foundation website. A 2008 Calendar will make a fantastic holiday gift. Products can be purchased directly from Café Press and shipped anywhere internationally and you can even include a ‘gift message’ with your order. Help make inclusion a reality by purchasing your copy of the 2008 Scrapping 4 Inclusion calendar.

About Scrapping 4 Inclusion

Scrapping 4 Inclusion is an awareness and fundraising campaign where Volunteers across the USA will organize a Scrapbooking Crop in their community. A Scrapping 4 Inclusion Crop can be customized by each Organizer to fit with what they are personally able to manage and what the market in their community will bare. Scrapbook retailers are also encouraged to get involved and host a Scrapping 4 Inclusion event in their location. The program has been designed to be flexible and simple allowing everyone to get involved. For a calendar of upcoming events, check out the events listing on the Scrapping 4 Inclusion website for further details. For more information on how you can volunteer, please email Laurie at the email address provided below.

About The Bubel/Aiken Foundation

The Bubel/Aiken Foundation provides services and financial assistance to promote the full integration of children with disabilities into the life environment of those without. The Foundation strives to create awareness about the diversity of individuals with disabilities and the possibilities that inclusion can bring. A step in the right direction, even if a small step, brings us closer to our goal. All children deserve to experience the fullness of a life lived without boundaries. Eliminating the stereotypes that have long been associated with physical and mental disability is the first step to erasing lines that divide us.

The mission of The Bubel/Aiken Foundation is creating communities where ALL children can learn, live, and play together. To learn more about The Bubel/Aiken Foundation please visit their Website.

PROJECT: Grade School K-8/Day Care Coloring Book

PROJECT GOAL: Raise awareness in children and their parents on the importance of developing an early interest in inclusion and thereby making a difference in the lives of people with developmental and physical disabilities.

DESCRIPTION: Connecting For Inclusion has created a coloring book for children. The Coloring For Inclusion book is 24 pages long and includes both coloring and activity pages. These pages bring awareness to both children and their parents of the positive results of inclusion on children enjoying normal day to day activities. Connecting For Inclusion wrote the story creating a central theme and characters around which the coloring book story revolves. They have included various activities which are normally seen in a Day Camp setting including sports, group games, playground activities, socializing and teaching.

We are seeking feedback from everyone in order to determine how many coloring books we should produce for this project. By having a preliminary count we can obtain the best pricing and won't over or under produce the coloring book. The cost of the coloring book will be approximately $6.00 plus cost of shipping. We will provide a discounted price for those who are buying in quantities to donate to various organizations/schools. 100% of the profits will be donated to The Bubel-Aiken Foundation after our production costs are met.

Please respond to Dianna Sharp at dianna@connectingforinclusion.com with an approximate number of coloring books you think you would be interested in purchasing or for more information. The books should be available for shipping the first or second week of September.

Thank you all!

Great Idea for a fundraiser and a super way to promote inclusion among our children. I can see these as teaching tools in schools and daycares and the kids have fun learning.

Deck the Halls 4 Inclusion

A TBAF Approved Holiday Fundraiser

Triad Voices for Inclusion, a Beta Alpha of The Bubel/Aiken Foundation, is proud to introduce "Deck the Halls 4 Inclusion" a holiday fundraiser in conjunction with Rockdale Wreaths, a Maine company which produces beautiful, handmade, natural wreaths. This year, as you begin to decorate your homes and offices for the holiday season, and prepare to exchange gifts with family and friends, we'd like to invite you to help The Bubel/Aiken Foundation provide an additional gift: the gift of a more inclusive life experience to children with and without disabilities across the nation

DeluxeLf.gif

For each individual wreath purchased through "Deck the Halls 4 Inclusion" the Bubel/Aiken Foundation will receive $9. Bulk orders, 8-10 wreaths shipped to any one address, not only saves you $5 per wreath on the purchase price, but also benefit the Foundation even more, bringing $13 per wreath. The deadline for ordering wreaths is Monday November 17, 2008. You can see all of the wreaths, and a few bonus items, at our Rockdale store at the link below or on our website. When ordering directly from Rockdale at the store they have established for us online, please be sure to use the following link to ensure TBAF receives funds:

At the end of each month, the teams(3 in 2 categories-ours is in member created category) that raise the most coins playing games on the site, and using their web search, win money for their causes. Here's the info for joining the TBAF Team Iwon Team Challenge:The Bubel/Aiken Foundation For info on the Iwon Team Challenge(must allow popup to see the info), Click here! Thanks!
