MERRY CHRISTMAS FCA!!!!

(((CG and others having a har tie this season)))

This year is quite different for me...I decided to trust my girls with a lot of the preparation. the baking of the cookies for gifts were done by Sam...gift wrapping by Tay...decorating part of the house was done by the girls on their own and for our Christmas cookies and bars...we all made 4 different things. I'm done my part and the girls are finishing theirs. Tomorrow...Sam makes dinner rolls and mashed potatoes, Tay will do the brocolli casserole and carrots, I do the Turkey, stuffing, gravy and dessert. I find the season was not so stressful.

I do think my hubby is a bit perturbed...our tree is not as full of presents...since we gave the girls a few expensive presents, nothing much is under the tree. I think he wants to go out and buy some cheap but big stocking stuffer...hee I say good luck!!!

I haven't disappeared...just taking care of medical stuff I knew was going to have to be done...but said NO not till DC has come and gone (my only show).

We had our 5 and 3 year old grandsons over yesterday to decorate "their" tree and it was so funny watcging them put the same ornament over their brothers ornament again and again. They were also streeeeeeeeeeetching their necks to peek into the closed doors when they had to go to the Bathroom. Little did thye know the gifts were upstairs. We are having the Shannon Christmas on the 28th.due other in laws.

Wishing everyone a blessed Holiday Season......and more CLAY !!!

So I ended up going simple with the Cinnamon tag. /\

Just thought I'd share, and thank bottlecap. :)

In the little Stockings (not really, just a brown paper lunch bag!) for the little Myrtle Beach group I put an ORANGE with the LEGEND OF THE 'O' (from CV) on a scroll, a ClayBell (I make these tree ornaments from mini Claypots, ribbon and a jingle bell) and a Cinnamon Stick with the tag above.

And a wish for Merry Christmas with Love, of course!

Oh, Couch! I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom! But - it's really sweet that your family wanted you to enjoy your trip! My Aunt who is most like my Mom (both nurses) had a heart attack on the 19th and is to have a quadruple bypass and heart valve repair/or/replacment but they are waiting for her to stabilize. Her DH, my Uncle, died on 12/26 so they are trying to avoid that date as the surgery date, as well.

There's no good time to be in the hospital (except maybe to have a baby!), but it's truly bad at the holidays.

Lord Bless and steady the hands and minds of the docs and nurses! :hugs-1: to Couchie and CouchieMom!

jamar - I so agree... this year, I'm using the KISS method for my holidays... there has been much less stress... I've been feeling different about it this year anyway... the commercialism and the quest to give bigger/better/etc. has left me cold... I really haven't yet gotten into the whole thing... time to do some soul searching after the holidays to try to figure out why...

Wow, I actually had a lucid moment and remembered to set my DVR for Holiday on Ice so I'll have it when I get home. Can't believe I actually remembered it as scattered as I've been lately.

Playbiller, my thanks too, for bringing this over, I hadn't actually watched the Cla-Bing duo for quite awhile, but I do love when the mp3 comes up in rotation on one of my Christmas compilations. Last night Yahoo had the original with David Bowie and Bing on their main page, I had never seen that one. Of course, it was fun to see the Kimmel one with Tupac.

Couchie, I hope your mom is doing better, I'll be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers this holiday season.

We did some of our family Christmas stuff yesterday and will do some more tomorrow, so today was mostly spent just hanging around and avoiding any place that might be overrun with last minute shoppers.

I burned a DVD of the Cleveland show and watched it with my mom today. She has played the piano for most of her life, so she really appreciated Jesse's talent. She commented on how well he complimented and accompanied Clay's singing, instead of trying to overwhelm or showboat.

Just got a note from my friend Momof3boys; FromClaygary's flight was cancelled last night and as of 4:00 a.m. she was still in O'Hare Airport...I hope she is on her way home now; the weather here is fine, but it may have to do with the weather she will be landing in.

Hope we hear from her soon!

Happy Christmas Eve everyone.

This is a melancholy Christmas for me since my Mom died so recently, but my friends have been wonderful, so I will be surrounded by good cheer and good food. I've spent the last couple of days baking bread and delivering warm bread and jam to friends (don't you wish you lived here?).

Clack/concert debate: I ALWAYS want Clack and always appreciate it, but I NEVER demand it or believe that it is somehow my right. Of course I can't go to every concert--wish i could--but I don't begrudge those who can and don't raise a stink because Clay didn't make it to central California. I take the blessings I get with Clay. I don't waste time worrying about his career or his glasses or his hair because he's always gorgeous, even at his most gloriously nerdy.

And he has a good heart.

I still don't have my fudge made, but everything is wrapped. I like to save something for a last minute run to the store on Christmas Eve, so I went to WalMart for stocking stuffers and oranges. I like the hustle and bustle and everyone is always in such a jovial mood. So when I walked in the main entrance, there hung a huge pink and white banner proclaiming "Happy Valentine's Day! Be Mine!". Man, I was PISSED! They took down all their Christmas decorations last night and started putting out Valentine's crap. That's just ridiculous.

You know, if I got up off my fat ass right now I could probably do something productive before time to start dinner.

Nah.....

muski.... Whew! Is it hot in here or is it just me? That image is going to keep me warm tonight! What you can do with just a few sentences is miraculous!

I'll be here in the a.m., but want to wish all those who won't be a Very Merry Christmas. Claygasm, treat yourself to your favorite movie, your favorite dessert, your favorite clack that makes you laugh and have a Very Good Day instead of Christmas! Call/email itunes and explain and then ask them if you can send that one in and exchange it for one that works.

I wonder if those stories at the concerts were prophetic? My ex-BIL died unexpectedly last Friday. No one knew he had cancer, he didn't want anyone to know. Quite a shock. He was my favorite ex and I'm sad, even tho I hadn't seen him for 15 years.
