I'll never forget this song in Chautauqua with the rain pouring down.

It was Canandaigua- and it was AMAZING!!!!

Oops - always get those two names mixed up. It was AMAZING, wasn't it?

I'll admit, I wish I could see what y'all hear in this...

If Clay wasn't singing it, I wouldn't have listened to it more than once.

For me, it forcibly reminds me how his voice alone will make me listen to stuff...

KAndre, it really is personal taste and sentimentality. I think this resonates with people that have been in this position before, or are still struggling with the same thing. It is just a very common thing I think specially with single people of a certain age.

To me the melody is just sooo haunting. I like haunting songs..like Vincent...hee. Then I love acoustic instrumentation...and this is his simplest arrangement. LOVE that.

Wish that the downloads of it could have done it justice. I think it was one of those "you had to be there " moments.

Because the lyrics aren't in the booklet - I thought I'd post them.

Forgive the errors - I just copied and pasted - haven't fixed them!

It's in Every One of Us Lyrics

Its in everyone of us

To be wise

Find your heart

Open up both your eyes

We can all know everything

Without ever knowing why

Its in everyone of us

By and by

Its in everyone of us

To be wise

Find your heart

Open up both your eyes

We can all know everything

Without ever knowing why

Its in everyone of us

By and by

Its in everyone of us

I just remembered

Its like Ive been sleepin for years

Im not awake as I can be

But my seeins better

I can see, through the tears

Ive been realizing that

I bought this ticket

And watching only half of the show

But there is scenery and lights

And a cast of thousands

You all know (you all know) what I know (what I know)

And its good

That its so

Its in everyone of us

To be wise

Find your heart

Open up both your eyes

We can all know everything

Without ever knowing why

Its in everyone of us

By and by and

Its in everyone of us

By and by

*hands CG a Bic lighter*

Love the gospel feeling of this song. Definitely a sway to the music song.

When the chorus comes in -- well, in a way, this is what I wanted the recorded version of IWKWLI to do. "Take it to church." This song does that, to me.

I love him singing with himself in this one....

Knowing that it was featured on a Christmas album (that's correct, isn't it?), I can see him ending his Christmas concerts with this song.

Thank you!!!!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song!!! Love the sort of gospely sound of it (yes I did say that!), love the little growls every now and then, love the feel good feel of it!!

This song is made for those damn glo-sticks, though!

I think that his voice is wonderful on this song. Doesn't fit the album, I don't think but I like listening to his view.

And its goooood.

this song has that Clay flourish on "wise." the flourish is missing on all the other songs and I think this is a good thing.

I read that this song was supposed to be a a gospel album.

I meant "voice" not "view."

KAndre fights an almost irresistible urge to go, "Bork, bork, bork!"

It just sound like a total gospel Muppet song to me!

It's cute but not a reliable repeater.

It reminds me of an old school "Sweet Bye and Bye".

Y'all are right - totally sweet southern gospel.

Maybe a little bluegrass-y.

I was so sad when I lost my Muppet Christmas CD cos it had this and the great JD christmas song that I always forget the title ..

anyway...I loved how the turned this into a gospel song great idea.

I wonder if this was an old recording left over from all those songs he did. Was this produced by Kipper?

Love it

This song has a gospel feel to it, with the piano chords and melody. It sounds like a hymn, almost.

After the first verse, it gets jazzy in the second verse, and I like it much better. I love the things he does with his voice in the jazzy verse.

Again deep voice. YUM.

"I've been realizin' that...."

Once the choir comes in, then it gets a teeny bit too bombastic for me. I do love that he is dueting with himself here.

Good message.

One of the few songs on the album with a glory note. Then back to a softer, churchy sounding ending.

Cotton, thanks for posting the lyrics.

So, it's

"open up both your eyes"

I thought it was

"open up all your eyes"

And that made me laugh. This isn't a funny song, but between the opening line about it being in everyone of us making me think Sir Robin thinking God swallowed a cup, and then being told to open 'all' of our eyes, I laughed all the way through this song.

Now, maybe I can appreciate it.

I actually like hymns.

I don't see either of those as bad things! Hee.

But I like the imagery of "bork, bork, bork!" LOL!

OOPS- was listening to my Walmart Cd and just tried to switch to my itunes for this song, and it crapped out on me.

Truthfully, I listened to this one maybe two or three times when I first downloaded, and haven't listened to it since. I had a hard time getting in to it, although I really wanted to. I think it was a combination of another song where I felt the lyrics were awkward, and lack of a sustainable tune. I like the gospel-y feel of his voice, however.

Trying to get itunes going so I can listen again with fresh ears.....
