Oh, Lori.

I'm not in the RCA dropped him camp.

I am just asking, but it makes no sense to me that they would.

Yes Clay could be dropped. Anybody can be dropped. It's a business and as Janet said..what have you done for me lately and frankly the record business is in the shitter. It is my hope that he isn't dropped but if he is he'll just have to dust himself off and keep on going. And I don't know why Warner always comes to mind. There are more music companies out there besides RCA and Warners. Don't you think that Clay is stuck in the Idols kettle of cash will turn into the they are giving all their money to the Groban and Michael Buble kettles? I get hives just thinking about that one. Is David Foster affiliated with that company too? Is that the reason it seems a natural match and Fake Clay's label of choice LOL? The music business is changing and Clay will have to find his place in it. Maybe it won't be with the large record company who are cutting employees left and right and scrambling to keep up with the changes in technology that affect their industry. I definitely don't want him with a small label because you think folks are crying about promotion now. Anyway, this is one of those don't worry about it until I'm shot in the head type of things..hmmm I don't think I got that saying just right LOL. And even if it happens I'll just keep on supporting Clay and have faith that his talent will give him more opportunities. He's really versatile too... I just believe in him and even if there are forks in the road it will lead us to somewhere that's all good.

From Claygary... I hope the specualtion isn't of the wink wink variety. I think people are probably more scared this time around because you know..he isn't all lined up to go to Warners like he was when Fake Clay was filling them with their bravado..IMO. I'm still a bit ticked about that whole thing..how convenient to have 3 big scapegoats for Claynation to focus all their hate on.

and just beacuse i know wandacleo would have something pithy to say on that topic..waves to her..hope she is having fun with the fam.

Good luck with the job search Iseeme. I hope you get the one you want. I'm trying to dust off my skills because I'll be looking full time for work in a month. I need to upgrade my resume too. I've just been tacking on jobs for the last 10 years. Surely there is something new out there..anybody have a great reference site can you add it to the job highs and lows thread?

ETA: to say hi to the newbie... welcome Claygirl hmmm...there's a new mozilla? I love mozilla..will just have to go download that one

ACK! Somebody smack me! For some reason, I just went out with my son and bought a new kitten. A sweet little tiger and white male. No big deal, right, except we've already got three others at home. Don't know what I was thinking?! :8:

Perma- the picture from WP with the LAA lyrics is stunning, and certainly seems to fit the tone of the lyrics- plaintive, haunting. I don't see Clay as a person who would be "frivolous " in matters of the heart- I think he would take them very seriously, and the lyrics reflect that to me. So, I agree with Iseeme that these lyrics seem to have come from personal experience.

hello to claygirl9131 :arg-dancing-welcome-whitebg-url

This is what happened with that. The text is from google cache. If you look at the cached page, you see this:

So the release date never referred to The Acrobats.

Taken from a Virtual Fieldtrip of Afghanistan, located on Clay's UNICEF page here! And it's narrated by Clay!

He looked SO WONDERFUL with the beard!

I don't think I've ever seen so handsome in person as at the Raleigh Gala right before his trip!

Gah!

Thanks jmh! Not sure I understand, is there still something called "The Acrobats" coming out from Clay at SOME point, even if the date is wrong?

Dunno; no one knows; or no one on the boards I go to knows, anyway. All I know is that site never gave a release date for that title--it was a misunderstanding of the google listing. As for the reason it's all over the place, the other sites got the listing from Amazon. A lot of sites get a little money by mirroring Amazon listings. None of them have a release date listed or any more information whatsoever.

Cotton, I can't say much about your LAA story except it is touching and shows the special way that music/poetry/art defines our lives.

Fake Clay never left us - some people so bought into the ideas that they can't admit it. no one wants to discuss the lies because they they would have to abandon them. I can't tell you how many times I tried to start the discussion.

Warners is shedding people faster than BMG.

I am waiting until phase II. I think there was some disappointment in the sales, but there are some doors closed to Clay because of his fans and one because of the ripacrit and others because the trash people do a good job and prejudice pervades our society.

I expect when Clay wants to go back out, there will be more people willing to talk to him. There was less TV promotion for this album and I guess that TV promotion works for Clay.

For me the Cello makes LAA. but there are other songs I like better. I need to be in a quiet mood to listen to LAA.

ldyjoclyn - are we going to start another song?

I'm sorry I brought up the dreaded RCA topic. I'm just constantly befuddled by the "dead horse". ( *g*, that's for you, Claygirl!)

it's ok cotton... really any subject is welcome here..even dreaded dead horse to some people kind..cuz really they aren't that way here.

I'm tired of working!! I think I'll stop now.. at least I had clay keeping me company...I love this album.

Lover All Alone is one of the most difficult songs to sing on OMWH. But it is a "Clay Aiken" song for sure. I can't even imagine anyone else singing it. Clay's voice is so tender and feeling. I have to agree with playbiller, you have to pay attention to the song to get the full effect. If you are doing something while listening to it, you will not get anything from it.

Back in the olden days, Eeck, I think I've even heard Clay say something like this, I listened to the words of songs. It was not background noise. It was poetry or at the least meaningful to me. What happened? Don't people feel anymore? Don't they relate to a feeling or emotion? Do people go straight to sex without feeling? Thats what I would surmise from the type of music that seems to be popular. I just saw a male cardinal and a female cardinal on my back deck picking up the bird seed that fell from the feeder. The male cardinal went over to the female and put a seed into her mouth. At least birds still have feelings.

I had to crack up this afternoon. We were in the sunroom , my husband watching golf and I was on my laptop. I looked up to see a commercial for viagra. It actually had a theme song, "Viva Viagra". Sounded like "Viva Las Vegas." Unbelievable that someone somewhere is singing about viagra. :cryingwlaughter: Seriously!

I think the Cialis commercials with the creepy porno music are even worse...

not that I know anything about porno music...

Before we leave LAA, I need to make my confession. Even when ATDW was released and it was the iTunes bonus track I've always skimmed it as a song (Yes, I'm strange), watching videos only if the visuals were particularly good. I filmed it all last summer because I knew it was important to a LOT of people and so I was extra careful with the song when I was holding the camera. When it became a track of OMWH, it was an unspoken "skip" for me and my best bud, ie. whoever was in the passenger seat hits the button to move to the next song. I've been having trouble lately because GOG has been growing on me and I'd like to play GOG, FIEKY and OMWH continuously but LAA is smack in the middle and I'm too lazy to burn a special disk; and besides it won't be as good as the actual CD (or so I tell myself).

Well, today, was my LAA road to Damascus moment. I had to sort out the last year or so of tapes because I was looking for laughn's clip and while her clip was rendering I was idly flipping through the summer bunch and found Syracuse. I had watched the YouTube from vzubie because everyone was posting about it so I was curious about what we had. LonelyNoMore44 had the camera that night and we were on the opposite side of the stage from vzubie so it was mostly his neck and the side of his head (he was facing the cello on the other side), but this was the first time that I really listened to the words. And LAA finally got to me... (!) I knew I had to render it but I couldn't watch it again so here are the files -- I will also send them to CH/CU but there were some issues with creating an AIW mpeg last night so I don't know how soon these'll get on the clack alerts. Meanwhile here are the mp3 and xvid. If anyone can view XviD's, please let me know if this (and last night's AIW are ok); if they're fine I'll make mp4's of all the files so that those who are waiting on the small wmv's can view them as well. Thanks in advance! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
