And now the topper of toppers....... I hear on the radio that Fantasia and Kelly Clarkson are in talks with Playboy Magazine in regards to the magazine's fall layout. The visualisation of the resulting Playboy images(ack) are interfering with my power of speech. There are just NO words to express what my brain is imagining as it trys to process this little tidbit. How old is the "HEF" now...110???

I don't know where you're reading this mess, but the bolded above just made me laugh out loud!

And the images make me, in Quiana's words, "Throw up a little in my mouth."!

Rick-level improv......could there be a higher compliment for Clay in Spam? I think Rick Holmes ROCKS!!!!! Just hearing his voice makes me laugh! And I do love Tom Deckman's "Not Dead Fred" voice..................."but I don't want to go on the cart!"

I think that was probably the funniest part – everyone was laughing so hard and watching Clay and Rick that it was a bit of a shock when that voice piped in with “What’s going on?” Obviously, that’s my clearest memory, beyond Clay apparently losing control of his appendages (not that one) while saying “You mean it’s not just dressing up and dancing?”

I adored Rick. And Tom. And David. Hell, all of them. The first Galahad was my favorite. His name is escaping me right now.

It's time to get the CD cleaner out for the car stereo because I got a track skip in OMWH yesterday, and while abrupt, it was cool at the same time. I'm bopping along on the way home listening to EIDN and I am really bopping ... right in the middle of the rockingest part of the song I suddenly hear .... Stop the music, play the song ...

Okay, says I. Just can't argue with the man.

ooooo Cindilu, I see my avi in the banner. Isn't he just the cutest!

Chris Sieber and I agree - loved them all. Would love to see any of them in another show someday. So much talent! And Clay fit right in there with the best of 'em.

Good morning.

Cindilu - that is some kind of beautiful banner!!! My favorite picture is the one on the left - AMA's Clay! Love his hair. Love the shy smile. Looking hunky there sweetsingerman!

Christopher Seiber was Galahad when Clay first started Spam - and then was replaced by Bradley Dean when he went in to rehearsals for Shrek! I thought Chris was a better Galahad...JMO, although Bradley Dean as Prince Herbert's father was fabulous. All in all though - an amazing cast! I truly don't think I could see this play without Clay though.......

It's cooled off here but the smoke from all the fires is still laying heavily on the forest. I don't have any breathing issues but I can sure tell there's something going in other than air....ick!!!

Oh Muski - congrats to Alex. All these hundreds of years later I can remember getting my license and suddenly needing lined paper to complete my homework. A trip to the store was critical.............heh!

I'm at work now...and my knee isn't TOO bad. I may leave work early today though. I can pretty much sit in my office, and just work there (HA HA, as if I actually work), but the problem is going to the rest room. My college's library doesn't have a rest room, the nearest one is about a 100 yard walk. *sigh*

Forgot to congratulate muski's daughter on her driving skills!

Other than that....nuthin'.

Still loving the banner though.

I came into the fandom during the Summer of 2006 when all that was out there were a few pictures of Clay and Kristy at a hockey game, pictures at the Kelly Clarkson concert of Clay and Ruben, a picture of Clay at Y Camp in the turquoise shirt, and walking out of LAX with his assistant -- and that was it between AI5 in May and the Foster Gala in September. And no one had heard his voice since the JNT2.

This isn't so tough. We've had him nearly full-time since last July. And, at the minimum, we'll see him after his UNICEF trip this summer. I hope he has all the space and time he needs to recharge. But, God yes I do miss him.

I honestly think that story about Fanny and Kelly is a lie.... just like most of the stories about Clay. I think it's a shame that celebrity lies have such a foothold. I guess it always have but now nobody even cares about the truth of it all. I try not to buy into any of it anymore.

I can't sleep. Been up since five..going through the first 9 pages watching you tubes. That is one funny funny man... still more to watch....

I just caught up, having been away for just one day.

claytonic

Faryl Smith's Ave Maria is incredible; she didn't win or even get a podium position (which was an all-male sweep) but many believe SHE should have won. (She won't have Andrew's problem of wondering what her voice is going to sound like when puberty takes control!)

a MUST SEE : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlO0ikRPZrc

This girl has an amazing voice for her age and I would probably not have ever seen her if I hadn't read about her here. Thanks

Lotus, you are welcome!

I saw that a number of people in this forum don't like opera, and actually I am not an opera follower either BUT there are a number of beautiful arias that are familiar to people who don't generally go for opera. However, when an unbelievably pure voice like Faryl's comes along, I am utterly spellbound. Hard to believe she is only 12.

Long restrospective post. Scroll at will.

It has been almost five years that I have been a Clay fan. I was never on any boards during AI2 and didn't even know of any internet sites. Playbiller kept trying to get me interested but I had my own business and that was what my computer was for. I started my business in 1983 and bought an IBM with two diskette drives, printer and software, visicalc, for about $6300. I still have the receipt for that. By 2003 I had sold my business. was on my 10th computer and was working from home. By then I had taken back my clients who were unhappy with the owners of the business I had sold them to.

During the summer of 2003, playbiller convinced me I had to go to the AI2 tour. I whined and complained but she found me a ticket to Charlotte. I learned how to IM to Julian, I don't remember her screen name, and we met halfway in Statesville. We went to a few more concerts together but i lost track of her a few years ago, she entered a new relationship which was taking up her spare time. I met people with pictures of Clay and homemade tee shirts. It amazed me. Clay came on the grounds to be interviewed by a radio station and it looked like the reincarnation of Elvis. I ran in the other direction as mob scenes never thrilled me. When someone got near the door of the trailer of the radio station, an army of guards pulled Clay out and escorted him to the coliseum.

When MOAM was released I didn't go to the cd release party as I didn't know any fans in town. It got a full page spread in our local paper. Other than Fantasia and a little bit of Daughtry our local paper has held all AI participants in disdain.

I finally bit the bullet and downloaded the first Invisible video. It didn't break my computer so from there on I became a downloading fool and participant on Clay boards. I retired in 2005 because my husband had taken early retirement and started trying to advise me how to run my business. Not a good idea.

If anything I am a more ardent fan of Clay now than ever before. I can listen to his voice forever and admire his humanitarian side. I have a lot of time to get involved in charitable and political ventures and this fits in well with Clay time. So here I am and I promise not to talk about myself ever again. :believeitornot:

Welcome all you newcomers. I recognize quite a few names from other boards.

I really don't know anything about Fantasia other than her AI stuff. But I can't imagine Kelly Clarkson disrobing for Playboy. I just can't. I remember her saying at one time that the only person who was ever going to see her in the nude was her husband!!! I know people change, but why either one of those ladies would even consider it is kind of squicky to me. And I'm quite sure that Hugh Hefner died some years ago and we're just seeing his embalmed body in pictures - or at least it seems that way (snark!)

Ahhh driver test. I flunked my first one...in 1978 and I didn't take another one until 1995 :cryingwlaughter: I was traumatized. Drove for all those years, even owned cars and never had a license. No tickets ever. Now that I have my license i seem to be living at the damn courthouse.

Speaking of YouTubes, there is a nice one to

called "An OBAMA Love Story", using sepia pics of the couple. Very nice use of the song, no matter where you are in the political landscape.

:)

(currently Views: 37,556! That means 37,556 people, some new I hope, hearing Clay's lovely song!)

ldyj, I'm so sorry about your knee. Persistant pain sucks! Whether it's knee or back or whatever. You are going to have surgery, right? Or did you and you're recovering?

It's also sad when your memory sucks, like mine.

Y'all know I have CRS disease, right? Advanced stages.

Not yet. I have a consultation with the orthopedic doctor on Thursday, and hopefully he can get me in for arthroscopic surgery SOON (and not Clay's definition...)

Off to watch that SAU video....

Everytime somebody new comes to this board it seems that a lot of people know them from other boards, and that means I probably know fewer people than anyone here. So, I love expanding my Clay friendships and look forward to getting to know each and every one of you. We already have so much in common! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

KF you aren't alone...I've met so many new people here at FCA... we all have been walking parallel journeys and it's amazing when we hook up...we already have that same bit of history together. It's amazing!
