From bigappleforclay at CH:

Intermission report from Scarlett and anntherese54 (who have primo, 2nd row, center seats):

Bottom line: Clay is back to normal!!

- They can't tell which foot was injured; no sign of a cast

- Lots of hopping and kicking during "Knights of the Round Table"

- He's particularly hamming it up on "Idol of My Age" and the "Quail" scene

- He bent REAL low on the slow mo'

- During Camlelot scene: can can dancer rubbed her skirt in Clay's face, and

he shimmied with the girls

- The LOTL rubbed his tummy; he caught her "arm"

- A very NJU audience

They'll probably call back after the show. He's in good enough shape to do the SD but, as I look out the window, the weather is getting worse.

Love the lighting on the last picture, the blue effect makes him look gorgeous.

Glad to see he is on tonight. I wonder if he is only going to do one show tonight and again tomorrow night so not to put added stress on his ankle.

I am really just relaxing tonight. Our friends group at the library put on a pumpkin carving party today. We had 115 kids carving at one time. Nothing like slimy pumpkin insides. Alot of the kids took the seeds home so their mom's could roast them. Thank goodness we had the High School National Honor Society to help us

My hubby is a star, too.

He just called from the Seattle airport to say he'd be home in just a few hours. I cleaned our bathroom for him. :cryingwlaughter:

muski.... the level of your love is astounding... :cryingwlaughter: I am sure he appreciated it greatly!

Couchie... glad your mom was released and very sorry you missed the rally!

I heard they were expecting 130 million voters this year. I'm prepared for long lines.

I'm sure glad Clay made it tonight. I know people had flown in for the weekend, as usual.

ncgurrl... I loves that Blue Clay picture!!! Thank you! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

And to keep throwing back to him words that were said five years ago? Oy!

Ah all is normal in the Clay nation!

Maybe Clay should remind us of the words we loved to say five years ago. Let Clay be Clay. He's a grown ass man - I don't expect him to have MY sensibility. I'm a 46 year old black woman - and I'm not the same as I was five years ago. And I expect in five more years I'll be different still. That roast was not my type of thing and I know I don't have the balls to get laughed at to my face like that. One thing I'm sure of - he knew what he was getting into and he went anyway. That's his right. His choice and I don't get how this effects anybody else. So yeah you're right..everything is back to busniess as usual - -which is kinda nice actually as long as I don't have to read it! :cryingwlaughter:

Just back from the casino...really my first chance to go all week...my brother in law and I went .... we are some serious enablers. When I was up..he was still going so I couldn't just sit there with my winnings ...and then vice versa.

YAY for Clay. So glad he's back with the show. That man just doesn't have quit in him.

Thanks for the pics NCGurrl - Clay is so damn photogenic.

Not only does my state allow you to vote absentee without an excuse now, the local board of elections sent out postcards that you could return to have a ballot mailed to you. I thought, "What the hey" even though I've always voted in person on election day. There's a bunch of local and state issues on the ballot, the electronic voting machine process is still sort of new here, and the lines to vote in person may be very long on election day. I got my ballot form in the mail, consulted with my local political guru (waves to laughn) on a couple of issues I wasn't familiar with, and mailed my ballot in a week ago. No fuss, no muss and I can ignore all the political advertising. Also, I don't have to run the gauntlet of volunteers outside of the polling place that are trying to hand out material at the last minute, which I've always hated.

Our state allows mail-in ballots, too, and I think it's an excellent way to vote! In fact, I'm on permanent mail-in ballot status now. I like being able to sit down at home, research the propositions and amendments and fill in the bubbles. And then mailing it in is so much easier than standing in line!

Just back from the casino...really my first chance to go all week...my brother in law and I went .... we are some serious enablers. When I was up..he was still going so I couldn't just sit there with my winnings ...and then vice versa.

I'm so glad you are having some fun now, Couchie! You deserve it, after all of that running around for your Mom.

Thanks for sharing the pics, NCGurrl! Beautiful!

Oh, by the way. Does anyone know a really good live version of "The Way"? I heard one once where he really kicked up the emotion near the end, but I can't find it anymore... :(

I'd recommend the one from the Ryan Seacrest show before the IT. Clack Unlimited There's another good one here from Denver: Claymaniac's Ultimate CD - Independent Tour

Thanks for those, jmh123. :F_05BL17blowkiss: I love The Way the bestest... or next to bestest (WYSYLM cannot be defeated!) and I knew I'd heard a really great live version somewhere.

No SD tonight. Jerome came out and told them. Showed his tongue alot. After the bow he was driving up and he pulled up his pants to show his socks. During the guard scene he started playing the strand and started smelling one of them. He acted like it was the most amazing thing he has ever seen!

I don't understand why anyone is upset at Clay. He didn't write the script. I chose not to read the article after all the warnings. So as far as I'm concerned a good time was had by all. And to keep throwing back to him words that were said five years ago? Oy!

Fear...what's this about? Why are people upset? What words 5 years ago? I'm outta the loop big time, I guess...

Sorry, we were watching a movie from Netflix that looked good but it was in Spanish and the only subtitles were written in Spanish when they spoke a few English words. Believe it or not we watched the whole thing anyway. :cryingwlaughter: The acting was good, we think.

I saw a few people upset that Clay said back in the beginning that he was family friendly but then went to the Friar's thing yesterday which I guess wasn't very family friendly. He let them down again, I suppose.

I tend not to go to every link that is posted particularly if I don't know where the link goes. The jokes didn't sound like something I would enjoy.

Holy shit. I swear....besides the fact that the Friars' Roast was a freakin' invitation only event, not a concert that welcomes young children, etc....and besides the fact that this was not an event FOR HIS FANS...and besides the fact that the man is just a month away for having lived on this planet for thirty years...and besides the fact that he has a freakin' right to do what the flying fuck he wants to do...

Too much. Too freakin' much. So many things in this world to angst over...to bitch about...to

wait a minute.

I'M angsting! I'M bitching! Over some women who have their panties in a wad because Clay decided to hobnob with the rich and powerful in NYC instead of staying home reading Bible scriptures....

Geez. I really DO need to get a life.

Oh man, did I ever get sidetracked from packing by that photo site...a lot of right clicking and saving.

And it must have taken me half an hour to create this post since I could not figure out how to insert the photos...the programme didn't like the links.

Here are some early lovelies

Zootopia 2003

Clay Aiken in Concert in NYC July 31, 2003

Sigh! I'm 13 again.

There were a few typos on my intermission report but the long and the short of it was that he looked great, sang and danced like he hadn't injured anything this week.

Speaking as a Broadway fan, that was probably one of the best performances I've seen. It's amazing how he continues to develop his character even after all the success he's had as Sir Robin.

it was so good to see him! *contented sigh*

The Lady of the lake hit him on the tummy when he seemed too curious about her armor. He caught her arm thing by the way and looked so proud.

It was a Cancan dancer who rubbed her skirt on him.

Knights of Ni said: How many Sarah Palins do you need to change a light bulb? Answer 1 -- she's got to be qualified for something!

As they said this, Clay made a screwing motion -- NO not that kind, like he was turning a lightbulb and trying to figure out the riddle.

While exiting they said: Let's go find a plumber who's really named Joe!

ETA: report from Joanne, he'll be there only in the evening tomorrow *waves madly at Joanne -- so nice to meet you finally*

Oh, oh and he sang the Amen in a different way this time and then the other knights attempted (rather unsuccessfully) to sing it the same way.

In keeping with the political humor, you betcha *g* Glad to read that Sir Robin's in fine form and you got to second row appreciate his fine form!

Scarlett..thanks so much for the report. I definitely understand the "contented sigh." I can't wait to see this again.

What's your opinion on the LOTL?

More proof that I'm an old fuddy duddy - I was totally disappointed in DL Hughley's show. Maybe it was first show jitters but it was mostly not funny - and I just don't laugh at pimp humor anymore. I find it degrading - like something that we used to have to act when we had no control over our own image. This show just doesn't belong on CNN. I will give it one more shot because I love DL but this show has been done before, and better, by Chris Rock.

Glad to hear you had a good time Scarlett. I guess that ankle isn't quite up to par yet. It bodes well for people going next week. I wonder if he thinks it's just kids that go to the matinees. And now that he is so old , they don't know or remember him. Or perhaps it is based on factors which I absolutely have no idea of. :lilredani:

One of the sad things about this current economy is that people cut back on things that they don't think they need. The arts is perhaps the first place that people cut back. It could bring many back to tv and the radio instead of going out to concerts or even into lstening to music at home. Friday at our games night, we discussed where we would put our money if not in a bank. I'd heard from a bank employee that many people are withdrawing funds and that the bank employees have had to warn them that once they leave the bank their funds are no longer protected.

My thought was to invest in canned goods since the price of them will only go up and they will more than likely outlast any recession. One of the women mentioned that she had recently eaten green beans she had canned in 1998 and they tasted great. Others liked real estate or gold. We agreed that raw land might be good as taxes are lower and there is minimal upkeep. We always end up playing a game for 1/2 an hour and talking and eating for 5 1/2 hours. :whistling-1:

My point is that I have no point, just rambling. :imgtongue:

I'm back---------------A quote from CV- I like this-

QUOTE

I think he walks taller, is more comfortable in his celebrity role, he looks proud and confident and I find it sexy as all get out !!! I think becoming a father has made him whole, having Jaymes in his life has grounded him. Her friendship is inspiring.

Yes, I think he is at a good place in his life and for that I am very thankful.
