You know, Clay really is ahead of his time sometimes isn't he? This was in my email this morning for a upcoming show at our local venue...

Featuring former members of Frank Zappa's Mother of Invention, The Average White Band, TV's Rockstar INXS, the Trans Siberian Orchestra, Broadway's Color Purple, Jesus Christ Superstar and more, the huge "World Rock Symphony Orchestra" includes a six-piece rock band, 6 feature Rock singers, a Grammy-award-winning gospel chorale and orchestra - performing a gigantic collection of Britain's greatest classic rock hits for one show only - Wednesday September 22nd in the RBC Theatre. The show - subtitled simply 'Britain Rocks' - includes incredible rock symphonic (emphasis on rock!) arrangements of famous songs by The Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink floyd, Queen, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Supertramp, Genesis, The Moody Blues, The Zombies and many others. Anyone familiar with the rock symphonic concept knows how powerful these incredible rock anthems can be when their vocal elements are amplified by a chorale and the music gets the full orchestral treatment.

While my weekend was on March Madness and cantata overload, Clay's PBS concert received a "thumbs up" review by the Examiner. A very special NJU story and graphic by AmazingCA are also featured in the new Carolina On My Mind blog.

Raleigh, N.C. – The National Inclusion Project (NIP), co-founded by entertainer Clay Aiken, announces over $700,000 of support to programs nationwide as part of its Let's ALL Play initiative.

In just three years, the Project has invested over $1.7 million to expand Let's ALL Play across the country. Let's ALL Play brings an inclusive recreational experience to children with disabilities by giving them the same experience as children without disabilities. Children with disabilities and their peers without disabilities come together to participate in recreational activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, community service, physical fitness and more. The Project will support over 45 recreational programs in 23 states in 2010.

In 2004, the Project instituted the inclusive recreational experience for children with and without disabilities. Since its inception, the Project has impacted over 20,000 children nationwide. "My son does not have Down syndrome, wear hearing aids, or have difficulty with his speech," said the mother of a camper. "He is simply a camper."

In 2008, the NIP asked the Center for Social Development and Education at the University of Massachusetts Boston to assess the implementation of Let's ALL Play. Overwhelming evidence shows that campers with disabilities see improvement in self-esteem, social skills, relationships with campers without disabilities, general engagement in camp activities and sport/motor skills.

The NIP looks to create communities where all children can learn, live and play together.

"Because of the continued support of our volunteers and supporters, the National Inclusion Project gives children the opportunity to experience inclusion for the first time," said Aiken. "The children's experience will impact generations to come as they increase awareness of the importance of inclusion."

New date showing up on Ticketmaster according to CV......Verona NY, August 12th. Looks like it's in the general vicinity of Syracuse, which some of us are familiar with. About 6 hours drive from here. Hmmmmmmm. 3 fer?

No we don't. The rumor was that it was the 11th. Chautauqua is the 6th, and Turning Stone the 12th. New Hampshire is the 11th. There's room for more in there, between the 7th and the 10th, or after the 11th. I hope we see a lot more dates all around for all the peeps everywhere!!

JMH and Lotus..thanks for sharing with regards to your home town. I drive by the house I grew up in sometimes..it looks so ... so.. I don't even know what to call it. The neighborhood is a bit sad and worn. I grew up in Oakland and back then it had a thriving downtown. And then it went through this period where it closed up at 5 pm. And then after the Loma Prieta Quakes things only got worse because so many buildings were damaged. I used to work downtown and there was no place to buy a darn CD. It's finally coming back to life though.. so am really happy about that. It has some nightlife, restaurants, theaters refurbished and many other things.

The last few days have been really hectic. My sister in law called on Monday asking can my mom come for a visit. I put her on a plane tonight!! So I'm all alone, so all alone for the next 10 days.

Catching up on the board..love Quiana's tweet. Too funny! and so so true.

I can not wait. For those coming to Reno you'll get to meet my mom. And she's so different from me. So I'll be giving her my ticket and finding myself another one. So when upgrade fever hits, remember me and my lack of a ticket. She doesn't even know Ruben will be there. I think I'll let that be a surprise LOL. She loves big Rube.

Hi, y'all! Just want to mention that I got that f**king "Antivirus Soft" trojan yesterday - fake security pop-ups, porn sites everywhere, but the worst was it would not let me open any applications - not even notepad, much less Task Manager. Could use the internet a little bit. Had to go into safe mode to install AVG (note - daintily hitting F8 once to get into safe mode does not work very well - one must hit F8 like their life depends on how many times it is done)

Anyway, if this happens to anyone else - the way I fixed it was to restore back to about 5 days ago. You don't lose files, but you do lose some installed programs. Don't get snookered into paying $50 for them to delete the virus. This virus does not actually harm any files, just messes up access to them.

Seems to be spreading around the net now, just a heads up.

It involves a photographer in Raleigh, a new picture of Reed, which somehow leads to this information. I'm not sure if I can recreate the timeline in less than two hours, but if interested...oh heck, just PM me and I'll point you in the right direction...

Today I enjoyed a good 5 hours working with the incredibly talented and INSANELY limber, Reed Kelly.

He is an actor/singer/dancer from the Great White Way, who just so happened to be down in good ol’ North Carolina! Whom also happened to have his silks in the back of his trunk to do some aerials! What luck!

Enjoy this little teaser of whats to come. We had a lot of fun, and created a lot of….oh whats the word….ah yes, Magic!

Oh, and Quiana's photo is in his headshot gallery.

And one of the guys listed on his website as a hair and makeup guy turns out to be the hair and makeup guy from the show, who posted on his public facebook afterwards:
