Totally catty gossip--feel free to scroll if you are pure of spirit.

My friend had the good fortune to sit next to a "famous" Clack gatherer who gave her an earful when she found out Carol wasn't on the boards. (NOT Scarlett, by the way.) The woman said she is a personal friend of Clay's and was able to meet with him and take a list of questions to him, but when others are around, he acts very professional so people won't be jealous AND that she spends so much of her time providing Clack for others and doesn't get the appreciation she deserves for her sacrifices.

Holy crap. It just never ends.... :cryingwlaughter:

You have GOT to be kidding me. aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I feel sorry for anyone whose so called status is that a pop star gives you the time of day - true or not. Get a life.

Is this 2008 all over again? Or whatever year that was with the whackadoodle that was supposed to be marrying him.

As for NOT ENOUGH appreciation I don't have much to say about that. I think much of what people do is thankless so you need to do it because you love it. I lot of things become habit or you can't let go because you're attached to doing it. But that's not the reason to do anything. When it becomes work or you can't enjoy your on concert experience then stop. I've been dealing with many of these issues myself lately.

Or in other words - aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Loving the photos and reports.

I have been feeling kinda low all day, I was not ready for the end. I really wanted to go to Hammond and could not get it to work out. The more I sat here Friday all day the more I became depressed. I have watched several U-tube videos today. I am hoping for a TNT concert in this area.

And OH THAT KISS!!!!!!!!!!! :Thud:

interesting how he pulls away at the end though. LOL

You cannot see his reaction from the straight on video. But from the side, he turned to the band and was quite animated and talking, then turned to Ben and lip readers reported that he said Casey was trying to French kiss him. Explains the jerk away. I love Casey.

My initial report is that the show in the Beau Rivage Theater was a tour de force. The acoustics were the best I've ever heard; the lighting was fabulous; the seats were spacious and comfortable; the temperature was perfect; and last night the hotel/casino hosted the best show ever seen in Biloxi. Clay and Ruben rocked the house, and I'll give you my report on the NJUs that I overheard as soon as I come down enough to think and type at the same time. Okay, I'll give it a try. There is no exaggeration or hyperbole in any of this. This is word for word. A couple walking out beside me, a 50-ish couple, were effusive in their praise, with the woman saying that "Both those boys are so talented, they both have great voices," and the man saying in thick Southern accent, "That's the best show I've ever seen. That's God-given talent. God-given. And that preacher skit was the funniest thing I ever saw in my life." Another man, walking out behind me said to someone, and I couldn't actually see him and didn't want to turn around, but he said, again in thick accent, "I've paid to see comedians who didn't make me laugh that hard, and those boys can SING better'n anythang I ever heard." Apparently there are no "guys" in Mississippi, only boys, as in good old ones. There were a lot of men in the audience, more than I've ever seen before at a Clay Aiken concert. There was one man, sitting alone near the back of the floor, who danced, clapped, and sang through the show -- and he was an older gentleman. The entire audience howled at the self-identifying gay jokes Clay made, so nobody in that Mississippi audience went away unaware that Clay Aiken is a gay man who just happens to have a charismatic presence, a natural sense of comedic timing, and a "God-given" voice. I thought it was maybe one of the best moments in Clay's evolving career. If he can win over the men of Mississippi, it's a changed world already. And Clay Aiken has it. IT. He has IT.

This morning as merrieeee, 00lsee, desertrose and I were singing, All You Need Is Love in the hotel elevator (yeah we really were), a woman got on and said to us, laughingly, "The concert was last night girls." Merrieeee asked if she had seen the show and the woman said, "Oh yes, wasn't Clay wonderful!! Merrieeee asked her how many times she had seen Clay, and the lady said, "That was the first time I've ever seen him." Linda told her that she couldn't count the numbers of times she'd seen Clay in concert. We all noted later that it was specifically CLAY the woman had commented on. Oh, he was on fire last night. Ruben the Singing Meatball was amazing too. It was one for the ages. One thing that was striking to me is that at the beginning of the show there were definitely Clay fans and Ruben fans. Some fans didn't clap for one or the other. By the end of the show everybody was a Clay and Ruben fan and cheered everything happening on the stage. There was something so unifying and beautiful about that whole experience last night at the Beau Rivage. I'll never forget it.

Yeah, I'm still high.

Oh yes, I can't forget that we have agreed that we are a Cult of Clay. Definitely a cult. I said that at LEAST we don't have to shave our heads and chant Hare Krishna. Merrieeee countered that, "We would if Clay wanted us to." Did I mention that we laughed our asses off this entire weekend? Now, KAndre is somehow immune. She would refuse to shave her head, even for Clay. What's up with that? The rest of us may need deprogramming one day, but not yet. At least not until we're homeless, penniless, and destitute.

OMG, The Drama Queendom of too many fans is a giggling gagfest! Oh, The Entitlement! Oh, The Egotism! Oh, The Narcissism! I would like to start an organization called Fans Who Don't Idolize Fans. I'll pay all the dues for anybody who wants to join up.

keepingfaith, I would love to quote your entire recap. What an awesome time you have described -- the acoustics, the "on fire" performance, and the NJU stories! I will probably come back and ask to quote some of the latter in a blog. :)

The new Carolina On My Mind blog was uploaded earlier this evening. Besides video of TOML, there are three clips recapping the "theme song" search in Verona (bluegrass), Hammond (Reggae), and Biloxi (opera). Scarlett and toni7babe supplied the videos, and five photos by Invisible926 are featured. Hope you enjoy. Thank you for your comments and visits.

If any of you have a YouTube Channel or website with Timeless Tour videos, I will be glad to add the links to this blog entry.

Since I have been living this concert all day, I am finally getting to read some Biloxi recaps. In fact, kf, I think I'll read yours again. :flirtysmile3:

Have an awesome new week, all! :twinklewhore:

Caro :listen:

Atta girl!!! :naughtywag:

I'd be willing to bet someone(s) put her up to it, as an "end of the tour" joke on Clay. :hysterical:

LOVE the pics from Brightstar, ldyj!

As for the question regarding bc, I'm guessing it's either going to be the tongue pic or the "soooo big" photo :whistling-1:

Great recap and NJU comments, kf! Thanks for coming down long enough to share with us!

Now I'm off to cook up another batch of clack to feed my habit. I may just OD this week, but oh what a way to go :lipstick:

Great recap kf; at the two concerts I went to their were many men and they were all enjoying the show. What I loved about Hammond is that looking around I saw all age groups..teen-agers, middle-age folks and older folks all having a blast...it was wonderful to see. I really hope the boys do this again, because I do think this kind of entertainment is sorely missed..you don't see many acts that can sing, dance and be side-splitting funny at the same time. And yes I would be happy to join your club and I would even pitch in the dues myself!

59 Days until The Special Chicago Concert!

:yahoo:

Happy Birthday to all celebrating!

Everyone have a great day!

Oh and for the record I still have at least half a pitcher of Koolaid left so I'm not about to shave my head for anyone! You kind of had to be there!

Ok my recap...fun, laughter, good good friends, swanky hotel, good food, great travels, not enough sleep (who cares it's a Clay weekend)) and most of all one of the very best concerts I have ever been to! Clay or anyone!

Half a pitcher of Koolaid left? The hell you do, I guzzled down that nectar after you went to sleep Saturday night. I'm now awaiting instructions from my Guru, Sri Clayananda.

Where were you when Clay's duckbill-shaped spikes needed to be trimmed down, KAndre?

I think she did get a hold of him. You didn't notice his immeasurable pulchritude in Biloxi? I did.

Om Guru.

keeping... thanks for the added report. That sure 'splains it. LOL

AND, I absolutely LOVED your recap. Just like almost everyone, I love to hear NJU stories, but one's from Southern men... I'm smiling all over, so thanks!
