# 65: "Clay Aiken's Not Just Any Joe"

My condolances to muskifest. I think I met her at an FCA dinner after Clay's first run in Spamalot.

No games for me either except for solitaire on occasion. We are going to see "Der Fleiger der Hollandar" (sp) this weekend. One of our neighbors is in it. In our small town (180,000)or so , we are fortunate to have the UNC School of the Arts, which has wonderful talent to support an opera company and a symphony. Definitely going on with my life despite the hand wringing going on with Clay. I feel bad for those being drawn into the drama.

Luckiest, thank you for the information, I did watch skating yesterday. Wow to Davis and White on the dancing performance. I hope you had a great time.

Home safe and sound from Detroit. We took the people mover yesterday, and had lunch at the casino in Greektown. We found everyone in Detroit extremely friendly and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised, given that so many people warned us about the area. We walked the Riverfront a couple of times. Our biggest disappointment was no hot tea in the arena! LOL Seriously, how do people live without tea?

My condolences to muski and family. So sorry to read that.

Downtown and midtown Detroit are great, really safe and lots more to see and do than people think. :) It's the neighborhoods that are bad, and don't watch the news. lol

I only ever knew muski's name from the boards but so sorry to her and her family.

Fear -- SMALL town of 180,000?!?!?! That's a city to me! The metro area I'm in at the moment (including suburbs) is about that size. I however, grew up on a farm, and the nearest "city" was 40,000. The town where I went to high school at 900 people.

New tweet:

There are more than 1 million Syrian child refugees. 48¢ can make their winter warmer. uncf.us/1au0Lnd @unicefusa #ChildrenofSyria

Um....

More unnamed clack. This time not-musical. Available in the vaults.

Just sayin'.

Well, hubby and I did it -- we cut the cord. No more cable! We just went out and bought a digital antenna, and I am now happily watching The Voice through it. We also managed to get it set up through my TiVO box. The only channel I seem to be missing is Fox right now -- so we may have to do a little finagling on that. Gotta have my Glee fix again soon!

Ahhh, we cut the cord this summer as well. Our Fox channel tends to be shaky, so I just watch it a week later, for free, on Hulu.com. If I wanted to join, I could watch it the evening it airs w/no commercials. We have gotten Amazon Prime and have watched a lot of free 'stuff' through there, keeps us entertained.

My family calls me Laura Engles, Little House on the Prairie. I have two tv's both on digital converter boxes and an outside antenae. I do have DSL, but I do not have a smart phone, and do not do facebook. I also have a phone that does not text. We just decided we do not need all the expense if we are going to retire soon. I keep up with most things and my sons know that if I call them they better answer or call back.

Hee, I am the opposite of Laura Ingalls currently, I guess. I'm loving technology, because with it I can use my iPhone to video chat with my daughter in England whenever I want. I'm also quite addicted to my PVR, because I rarely watch TV in real time. I keep odd hours, so my TV time is generally between 6 and 9 in the evening, and then sometimes between 5 and 7 in the morning. Currently, I'm catching up on the CBC coverage of Skate America (but I really should be getting ready for work).

15 Days until Clay is on Law and Order! :yahoo:

So I am now down to washing dishes in the bathtub and using my slow cooker on the bathroom vanity. Hubby is pulling out my sink cabinet so he can finish the kitchen floor an then install the new one. So I have no counters right now and no sink. Really does feel like Little House on the Prairie! Told him to go get paper plates today. I will be so glad when this renovation is done. He has to have it done by Thanksgiving as I am having the whole family..if not we may be having a picnic on the living room floor!

Everyone have a great day!

Oh, I hate kitchen renovations! I mean, I love the results, but it's hell going through it. Yesterday, I had to deal with my furnace. I had no idea how to replace the filter! We finally figured it out (took 3 of us) and I had heat before I went to bed. Good thing as it went down to 2 C. There are flurries in the forecast this week.

I'm definitely not a Luddite! I love my iPhone, I love being able to Skype and FaceTime with friends here. But that cable bill was getting to be too much, so in this case, technology will help us save money!

Weather? We went from summer to winter with three days of fall in the middle. I love fall, so I miss that. (I'd rather be cold than hot though....so being my age at the moment is making me sweat, if you get my meaning....)

Someday my kitchen will be remodeled. I would love that to be soon, but it's gonna be tough for a couple of years.

Anyone got any good ideas on Clay related games to play? If I had more time, I'd suggest another photo contest like we did a few years ago. We could also have a listening party -- but again, I need to create some time for that. Thoughts? Suggestions?

14 Days until Clay is on Law and Order! :yahoo:

Not much progress on the kitchen yesterday; to add to all the fun my husband has been cleaning out his parents storage unit this past Fall. This is stuff from his Dad's business that they put in storage when he retired and they moved; stuff has been in storage for 20 years because his Dad was not ready to deal with it. Well now they have decided it is time to clean it out and since we live closest to the storage place, hubby gets to do it. His sister and brother wanted no part of it. It has been a job going through things; His Dad was in heating and air conditioning so lots of mechanical stuff, motors, etc. He has sold a lot of stuff, but still more to go through. Good for us because we get to keep half of the profits. Its been a good heads up about cleaning out stuff so your kids don't have to..need to really do that myself.

Everyone have a great day!

Well, my newest drama is my older son has decided to buy a house with his g/f of 3 months. Seems rather quick to me, but she is a sweetheart. He has asked me to walk through it with them on Friday, before they commit. And I got a juror questionairre in the mail. Eeep!

Clay related games? You know me, I'm all about the music, so I'd prefer listening over pictures (but I may be in the minority on that!)

Luckiest, since your son and girlfriend are not married they might want to have a lawyer write up what they would do with the house if they should split as unlikely as that may seem to them. Unless Canada has laws in place for such a situation in which case all is well.

How about if we start with our favorite performance of a song and link to it on youtube, if available?

Is anyone here?

I'm swamped at work for the next two days, plus behind on homework for my class. (I'm having a real mental block on this one...)

Rumor has it, via Twitter, that Clay was spotted in NYC again yesterday.

I like the idea of posting YouTube clips of our favorite songs. Keep that in mind please...maybe I can get to that this weekend....

luckiest, good luck with your son and his gf...

May I just say OW. Work is going well, I was put in replenishment so my shift starts at 5am..my body clock has yet to adjust!! And my muscles too! Today was my first day of replenishment training and I didn't think there'd be so much physical labor. lol I need it though so I won't complain! I'm scheduled for tomorrow and Saturday so Sunday I'd like to sleep!!

Shortyjill, yikes! I hope there is a long hot bath in your future. Are you assigned to a specific part of the store,or will they be covering the whole store in the training?

Me too. Yummy. I like the way he's the focus of the frame. He's not one to be invisible unless he wants to be. :)

Love Clay's expression on the second one...like he KNOWS this is going to appear on the boards! (And he's right! Heh.) Also -- I recognize that coat!
