  1. garsh! well... thanks so much for all the birthday wishes! i'll get my ass into gear and start posting, i s'pose! maybe a little game of catch-up?

    - i used to hateeeeeeee the term claymate. although i don't hate it as much as i did when the name first started to circulate around the fandom. now? meh. i'm a clay aiken fan. people can label with whatever name they want, i guess. i'm a claymate, claynadian (oh god i can't believe i just typed that), claywhore, clayaikenloveromghe'ssosexySQUEEEPEEEEE, whatevs. i just like that clay aiken kid. call me whatever you'd like. ;)

    - love the poems! :cryingwlaughter:

    - happy anniversary to anybody who celebrates it today! i know i share my birthday with a ton of anniversaries offline so i'm not suprised people here are celebrating as well!

    this?

My daughter E. (I refuse to refer to her as jamlet...*g*) is off visiting her friend who works on Broadway. He knew about these show lotteries they do. Not clear if they are just for performers in other shows or open to anyone. Anywho...yesterday after she arrived they went down and put in for some shows...and won the right to buy two front row seats to Wicked for $25.00!!!!!!!

I haven't spoken to her yet today to hear how she liked it but damn...where'd she get that kind of luck? I may have her try for my Clay tickets the next time.

... makes me JELLUS! i love me some wicked. i've seen it three times alone in the last two years and would see it again in a heart-beat! hope she had a great time!

  2. Oooh, I suppose I should probably slink in here quietly since I'm a Red Sox fan and there are already a few Yankee fans in the house. I'm not all up on the rivarly stuff, but I won't exactly jump up and down and scream for the Yankees anytime soon.

With all that said, the team that's really number 1 to me is the Toronto Blue Jays. Even if they aren't exactly winning wonders on the field this year. I can't help but supoport them and cheer them on even if they are right at .500. I'm a child of the 90s and I grew up watching Jays games and when the Jays won the World Series in 92 AND 93, it pretty much marked my childhood as one of the greatest moments evar.

  3. He looks so aristocratic, like the Earl of Aikenberry or something hanging out with the posh set in London, doesn't he?
Earl of Aikenberry. That sounds like a new brand of palm pilot or something.

I love the talk of the long hair. I love it. I hatessss the bangs he's sporting now. I kinda just wish he'd decide if he wanted it short or long, ya know?

But ah well. I'm over it. He still sings pretty and ain't too hard on the eyes either. So that's how I justify being okay with him sporting the same hair style as my mother. ;)

  4. *dusts off lurker hat*

Favourite hair? Probably the long, feathered hair he was sporting last year on the JNaT. The longer and darker, the better. :)
    WORD, sister.

i do believe this to be my favourite look as well. gaaaaaaah. so much to grab onto when you're.... er... i mean.... what? *cough*

    :hubbahubba:

So I finished my first round of audio recommendations and put them in the DCAT thread. That was fun!
squeeee! off to check this out!
  5. I was not prepared for the army of gray-haired women who found it their duty to tell me and the others with cameras not once, not twice, but perhaps 20 times that "the flash hurts Clay's eyes."

For a second, I thought of asking them how they know this. I've been on Claymate sites. I have been to four Clay Aiken concerts. I didn't know his eyes hurt. But these women who looked like maniacal grandmothers (I swear one of them had a rolling pin in her hand) fancied themselves Clay's personal protectors.

Far be it from me to hurt Clayton's baby blues (or, really, greens). I turned off my flash but somehow that didn't assuage these women, who admonished, "That's quite enough" after we took three photographs.

The concert was great. The orchestra was great. But I was so freaked out by the Fake Clay Mommies that I didn't even get time to admire Clay's eyelashes.

    Seriously? SERIOUSLY? Bwah!

Bwha! That sounds very familiar to what happened to me at Meadowbrook. I was fiddling with my camera before the show, and the lady sitting right behind me tapped me on the shoulder to inform me that I needed to turn the flash off. This was right after I got handed a glowstick by somebody else and instructed to ONLY use it Because You Loved Me so the co-ordination between fans at the concert freaked me out. And I've been a part of this fandom since the beginning. Nothing should freak me out anymore, lol.

Although that comes after I got thwapped in the back of the head for, *gasp* *shock* *drama* standing UP during Clay's first song at the Chatauqua concert (I know, the horror!! How dare I!). I was so peeved. First of all, it's the opening number, I'm allowed to stand up and be excited because my boyfriend is up on stage looking and singing all sexy. Second, the people in front of me were standing so naturally, I followed suit. And finally, it was a general admission concert. You don't like staring at my big noggin? Then move!

    [/rant]

Clay fans are crazy, yo. [/understatement]

[/using brackets and backslashes to end my sentences.]

  6. Aw, it's YSRN's birthday? Happy birthday, chicka!!! :00000430: Wanna blowpop?

LOL!! It was veeerrrrrrry goooood!!! I keep replaying it in my head over and over and over. Certain ex-pressions he made, mannerisms, the way the light caught his eyes (as they bored right through me), the stubble 8 inches from my face, the haaaaaaaands while he was talking, his pouty lips while he was concentrating on something, the sound of his voice actually talking to meeeeeee, the feel of his hand holding mine, the feel of being snugged up under his arm with my head on his chest...gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Is it wrong that I licked the screen after I read that?

The picture was the best. He looked deliciously like he had just rolled out of bed...all scruffy and stubbled and bed-headed. But the best part was, as I said, the snuggly part. I think I was the luckiest....cuz even though a couple got full hugs and one got a kiss on the cheek (he was trying to get her in trouble,) I got to hold him for the longest time. It was HEAVEN. I could have seriously stayed like that forever. His right arm was around my waist pulling me in tightly and he held my right hand in his left. It was a typical prom pose...I snuggled my head so deep that I think the collar of his shirt covered my eye in the picture! But Who. Cares.....the picture ain't about seeing ME!

    Annnd again?

    *wipes slober off laptop screen*

  7. Hey there...
