  1. *waves at Marilyon down there* Haven't seen you since you, Meesa & Puddinsjoy came to visit our hotel room last year. Good times!!!

    Hey, Scarlett!! Just visiting!!

I was thinking of you last weekend because the eHP took a road trip to explore the Hill Country. I wrote a bit about it upthread and the only part I'm missing was our Plucker's Wings & Amy's Ice Cream night in Austin on Sunday. Some will argue for Amy's over Bluebell but I love them both! We were reminiscing about the nice tix we had last year and I remembered how you passed on that extra A105 for the Saturday of the 2nd last weekend of Spam. I wish you had been able to come because I ended up giving it away. *crosses fingers that we all run into the same sort of luck in the future*

I know, and I sure regretted it!! But circumstances were beyond my control. I sure hope we get seats like that at a CONCERT TOUR!!

Hopefully before I have to use a cane to get down the aisle!

    Hey, Scarlett!! Just visiting!!

I got one of those viruses but not from that site- from an email somehow. Killed my computer. Thanks to goldarngirl I was able to reconstruct, and when I got the virus I was still able to send all my clack to an external hard drive so I saved the most important documents/videos!!

We spent HOURS puttting that computer back together- into the wee hours of the morning. BUT- she saved me from having to take it to a computer geek and spending big bucks

So- from across the miles, I thank you- and all of the folks that have given me advice on lots of stuff!!

The ONLY two things I regret- I cannot reload my Roxio because I do not have the CD Key code- dunno where the plastic cover went because the CDs were in paper cases. So I will miss that. And microsoft office- same thing, dont have the CD code.

The Gala is next month- I cannot wait to hear Clay sing again. And the hair? Hey, it was his off time and he was probably windblown- but he was considerate enough to take a pic that we can all....shall we say........discuss??

  3. muskifest and claygasm- this is something you might want to know

    Hello Fellow Claymaniacs,

I write this with a heavy and sad heart as I bring news to you of a fellow Claymaniac. There is no easy way to say this...

LadyC/Kris passed away on Saturday morning, November 8th.

We received a short e-mail from her daughter, whom some of you know, Kandise/minime. They aren't sure at this time if the cause was respiratory failure or cardiac arrest. All we know is a beautiful, funny, strong, intelligent, beloved member is gone.

Kris was only 38 years old. This woman had a wonderful sense of humor and had been ill with various things for as long as I was on Claymaniacs. Most of you would not know her, but if I mention the hysterical meet and greet where the fan asked to touch Clays hair, and her hair got stuck to his, you may remember. That was one of the funniest meet and greet stories I have EVER heard.

Kris was a wonderful lady and we at Claymaniacs will miss her deeply.

  4. Didn't watch rewind since it doesn't air until tomorrow but I really did not like Clay's "Vincent". And I remember thinking at the time he forgot the words before the judges said anything (which knowing what we know now really wouldn't be that hard to believe!). I thought it was a sleep inducing performance. I will never believe having him sing it was part of any conspiracy. He pulled that song out of the bowl. As to adding something to the song and that messed him up - again, its part of TV and the time they needed to fill and in the end he still messed it up. He may not have forgotten the words, but he still messed it up.

Just wanted to respond to this- I thought as you did, until I read this:

The conjecture started again last week, when the three contestants each sang a song chosen at random from a bowl containing hundreds of choices. Kimberley miraculously chose “Band of Gold,” a number she’d performed on the show before. What are the chances of that? It turns out that the “random” round was much more stage-managed than it appeared. Despite all those papers in the bowls, there were only four songs per contestant, all carefully chosen to suit the singers’ vocal style and range. “There wasn’t ‘The Macarena’ in there or anything,” says Lythgoe. “It wasn’t going to be stupid.”

    IDOLFORUMS from May 2003

So the choice of "Vincent" was not as random as it looked. And he messed it up because it was changed an hour and a half before the show- so even though the lyrics were on the telepromplter, the cue as to when to come in was lost on him due to lack of rehearsal.

I have to be honest, I watched rewind last night. And I switched the channel when he came out-I just couldnt watch it again, even though it was not THAT bad.

That whole article at idolforums was very revealing. Of course, we KNEW they steered the outcome in the direction they wanted.

But I think Clay has done alright since then.

    and he is awfully HOT!!

  5. Squee!!! Marilyon, thank you! That was fun! Let's do it again!

    :)

    Vas it gud for u??

I have to tell you that I sure hope Clay didnt look at ME looking at HIM during the slo-mo scene. I mean, he squatted VERY low and my eyes were drawn to his....er, um.......TIGHTS!! and I saw them all the way up to his ...hips!!! That man sure has some strong thigh muscles!!

  6. I'm appalled sometimes at what the camera sees, that I'm sure people don't realize they're doing or just fall into the fog or whatever as he approaches.

People SCREAM into his face, poke Playbills into his face, film or take stills literally inches from his nose...and my absolute favorite so far....

Just to justify- my pictures were taken at a distance, not right up in his face. I cropped it but the original picture is NOT right there. It does SEEM like its right in his face, and I don't doubt that some actually do that, but the zoom lens is very helpful.

As for waving the playbills, etc- they are waved over peoples heads, but again, most times the camera makes them seem right in his face. If you look at the side view videos, they are not that close- I dont think Jerome would let them be. Clay does not stand right up against the barricades- he is a step or so back.

Thats not to say that people dont get rude or overbearing, or don't say things that make you cringe. But the couple of times I have been there, people stay behind the barricade and don't push forward.

  7. Oooooo, Marilyon, thanks for the pretties! Did you enjoy the show yesterday?

I sure did. Wrote a long and boring recap which I will NOT saddle y'all with!

WHAT??!!!! I want to be saddled with it! Please! It's a LONG time til April, y'all. Have pity. Maybe it's boring to YOU, but I bet I'd like it! C'mon, spill!!!

    Um...but no pressure.

    heh

Be careful what you ask for !!!

WOW Seat A102!! VERY close. We were so close we saw sweat on Lancelot and Galahad’s temples. And I realized LOTL had VERY sparkly VERY red lipstick on. I love how Clay has expanded the guard role –he is so funny playing with his helmet strap, acting sort of bored with Arthur but interested in pursuing the swallow and coconut issue with the other guard (played by Lancelot) He sounded a bit hoarse in that scene, but I did not catch any hoarseness later. His voice was SOARING!!

I thought the little nuances added or changed in the Not Dead Yet scene were adorable (peeking through the hole when he said “Keep an eye on Lance”. And the way he deepened his voice when he responded to the fighting issue –“GOOD”

Tom Deckman was not there. While the understudy did a pretty good job, I have been spoiled. Tom has a vulnerability and frailness about him-plus the expressions on his face at seeing Lancelot and the “collapsing” bit with his mother…..er, father-really are hilarious.

I adore the way Clay sings the yodeling part. He was right in front of us and I got to see his tonsils!!! (If he still has them HAHA) His range is amazing.

Dennis Galahad- Chris Siebert cracks me up-he and his mom go on and on about the political aspects of their autonomous collective. Really well thought out. And I LOVE when he comes out with LOTL with his lips pursed and his hair tosses-and the “Song that goes like this”. He and Clay seem to play off each other with their asides. I sure wish I could read lips sometimes-all of the cast say things to each other as background and its hard to watch everyone at once.

The Camelot scene is a very busy one, but I couldn’t miss the “cocktail waitress” pinching Galahads “chestal area” and goosing Clay. Then when the dancing girls came out with their trays of quivering twin globules of something or other, Galahad followed one and sort of manhandled what was on the tray –hysterical. Robin of course was ogling the scantily clad women and chasing them around. When the girls danced with the thingamajoogies (I have NO idea what they are called- some rounded weapons on chains that had spikes sticking out- I used to know this stuff back when I was intelligent) Robin danced and swung imaginary thingamajoogies around and kicked high. The other knights were sort of dancing, too. This time Galahad caught LOTL’s one piece of glove armor, and Lancelot caught the other one. The whole dancing scene with the knights and the rest of the cast was spot on. Clay honey- you can DANCE!!! Swing those hips, baby!

Hannah has an exceptional voice- I absolutely LOVE her interpretation of “Find your Grail” and when the knights were climbing the “Mountain” it was hysterical to see Robins fear of falling.

And the slo-mo- dayyum- right in front of my eyes. Clay braces his legs wide and rocks up and down-and the tunic goes ever higher-I am thinking this must be where he tears it each night- because he strains that baby to its limit!! There is no hole in the tights right now folks- I will sign an affidavit-Yup, right there on the downswing-ironclad (hee) proof. Lancelot also did the slo mo spit and mouth wipe. Don’t know how he does that. It was difficult to watch all of them at once, but Galahad was also funny.

Patsy- I want to hug him- I am enamored of his dancing in “Always look on the bright side of Life” –fluid dancing, easy like Gene Kelly- the tap dancing He is an affable character-and King Arthur is lucky to have him.

Brave Sir Robins many changing facial expressions when he is informed of the myriad tortures that await him are priceless. You can see the moment he realizes what the minstrel is singing. Yes, he has definitely perfected the art of completing his costume by adding excrement- and the uncomfortable feeling it must engender adding to it exponentially by the scary black knight, the Knights of Nee, Tim the Enchanter, and the Killer bunny.

But the kicker is, he then proceeds to DANCE with all of that in his pants!! YWSOB is astounding. He comes right to the edge of the stage to sing the first few lines, and from what I remember of opening night, he has put more expression into it. He dances all over the stage, and doesn’t miss a word or a dance move. I did feel that he rushed to the piano, and through the tune he played. But then!! …..he got up, had that intense look on his face, and shook those shoulders and stomped that foot. The bottle dance is WONDERFUL!!

By the way, the Knight of Kni did Amy Winehouse, and the “diva” did Posh spice again.

I don’t want to do a play by play and bore everyone- but I will have to say the finale is spectacular. There are so many people on stage you don’t know where to look first. So I sort of had to look at Sir Robin, you know what I mean? He bumped hips with one of the lady dancers, then danced over to the other side of the stage. It seemed he and Patsy were in syncronicity when they “wrote” circles with their hips and then did a few pelvic thrusts…………um, <dies>

    A couple more things

At the stage door I stood back- at first my sister and I were going to walk to the train but the next one wasn't for an hour, so she smoked while I went over to my friends. I did not get in the front, but I wanted to take pics. The lady with the crutch was right behind me, and she held the crutch over my left shoulder. Clay heard her, saw the crutch, and grabbed it to sign- how cute!

My friend Heater from Claymaniacs had the peasant award for him to sign. He signed it on top of the "Foot" CUTE!!. He went by very very fast- I think he was out there less than eight minutes, if that. BUT he was out right after the performance-

My camera is not good for taking pics of people unless they stand very very still. I am feeling lucky that I got what I did! He was adorable and I love his freckles.

My friend said when she got picked, Patsy was so cute giving her instructions, "Sit back down" "Now come up here on stage- there are four steps" etc.

She said after she won, when the knights were congratulating her, they were all talking loud behind her, shouting encouragement, etc.

Clay was SO good, SO intense. He put everything into his performance, and his eyes sparkled.

How did this go so fast??

  8. I had not heard she went to his LA concert. Give with the deets, woman! :cryingwlaughter:

I han't heard that either and I was there! I know my favorite shipping partner was there, and by that I mean Kelly! There is photographic evidence of that. But I hadn't heard Tyra was there? Was she? And if she was, was there a cat fight backstage?

I want to have the means to be toni7babe and the lovely Scarlett. Seems almost every weekend they are in NY (at least toni7babe is). Where do they - and the other stalkers fans who are there from out of town A LOT get the money to fly there, buy up to 5 tickets a piece - usually in the first few rows - stay in a hotel, eat, drink and be merry????? And why can't I get in on that sweet deal????

    Jealous? Moi?? You bet!!

I'd like to know how toni always ends up in the front row of the stage door, too....it's amazing.

I am only a short $19 train ride (round trip) away- the only cost would be my ticket and food is negligible- and I cant afford it either. Add to that fact that I HAVE been checking even WEEK days, and I dont pull up anything but way back center or front row way to the side.

HOWEVER- I love Toni and Scarlett and I LOVE the clack they bring. If I was able to, I would go to more shows and enjoy Clay (WHEW) and I say MORE power to them if they are able to do this.

I wonder if they will share the secret of obtaining good seats

Joining the list of American Idol alumni who become Broadway performers is recording-artist, CLAY AIKEN. He made his Broadway debut as Sir Robin in Monty Python's SPAMALOT at the Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street). He will be with the production through May 4, 2008. I made pictures of Mr. Aiken signing autographs for his enthusiastic fans at the stagedoor of the Shubert Theatre after this evening's performance.

Is it me or does Clay's hair look much lighter in these pictures? It may be just the camera, though
