  1. When did he say that he would tour with a band again?

It's in one of the M&G Reports. I don't remember which one...seems like it was one of the ones from early in the Tour.

    From a Re-cap of a M&G by 12Stringbabe.....from Indio

My main curiosity had to do with the direction of the next CD and future tours. I do like the symphony concerts, but I love the band (yes, I am a guitar player, singer/songwriter type - that's where my screen name comes from), so I asked Clay if he could foresee touring with the "rock band" again. He kind of took exception to the term "rock band" and just preferred to call it a "band," but he did say that the new album was kind of leaning in that direction and that he could see that in the future. I specifically asked him if he thought he would use some of the same players as before, adding that I am in love with Daniel Pearson (sigh - ever since I saw him in Dallas at the Not-A-Tour - I just love him). Clay said that obviously these guys aren't just sitting around waiting for him, they stay busy, so it would all depend on their availability, but of course he would love to work with people he already knows and with whom he'd worked before. And he added that Daniel just got engaged (I tried to look happy for him - lol!!) So all you Daniel lovers out there - we waited too long But I'm heartbroken now that Daniel didn't wait for me; the fact that I'm already married notwithstanding, of course - hehe.

I know I read another M&G Re-cap from earlier in the Tour where he said something about touring with a Band for the next CD.

  2. I don't think Top 40 is impossible for Clay. Granted there is alot of dreck on those stations...but there is some good music too. I can't stand Daughrty personally [think he is to egotistical], but he has put out a good album that gets played....or Elliot, Rob Thomas, and others. I like Pink, Christina, and Kelly (during Breakaway). I think all Clay needs is some good music. Hell, Invisible got played on Top 40. I'm not saying that he will be a Top 40 Fixture....I agree with you Couchtomato, that his strenght lies in AC and Hot AC.

I actually am very optimistic about Clay's future...I think things are looking up for him after the dismal year that he just had in 2006.

I just wish he would blog. <whine> I do wonder if he is working on that new album....it seems if he wants to get it out early next year, they would have to be doing something now, during his break. I wish he would tell us who his Producer is, that might give us more of an idea of where he is going for the next album.

  3. I may be very wrong of course, but I took Clay seriously in general terms with a lot of the Classics banter. He was clearly signaling a change, and I believe him. The question, however, is what kind of change. He has also said over and over that he wants to be current and hip and off the chain, so wherever that place is for Clay, I'm going there with him musically. I think it's exciting. I don't expect it to be rock or rap, but I do expect a contemporary album. I hope Jesse's been giving him piano lessons and that David has been giving him tips on composition, so that sometime in the not to distant future Clay can release an album written completely by him. He could title it Clayton. And, if that never happens, that's okay too. It's just my dream for him.

It's my dream too...but if it doesn't happen I'm OK with that too. I think it would be a waste of his talent though.

Clay has said [in M&G's] that he was going for a new Sound for his next album....I am so curious about what that is. He has also said he will be touring with a Band for the next Pop Tour. At first I had thought he was going to infuse a Pop Sound with Symphonic accompaniment. Guess not. I do think he really wants to get played on the Radio. I think he is tired of singing the Slowww songs. I think he is a bit more ambitious than he claims to be and I do think he would like to sell more tickets than he currently is. Whether he wants to be a Superstar or not, I have no idea. But there is a huge difference between being a Superstar and selling out huge arenas and where Clay currently is in ticket sales. Maybe he'd like to be somewhere in the middle. I know I personally want him to be successful enough to have true Nationwide Tours. It really sucks to live in the West...and other places where he either doesn't Tour...or does so infrequently.

Funny how he has said the only song he never gets tired of singing is Invisible. He has said that he likes songs that he has to emote....but also said he likes fun songs. Maybe he has had to many of the emote songs and not enough of the fun songs in recent years.

I am a Clack Ho. I admit it. I don't download everything though...just the songs I like and all the banter. Or if someone mentions something good. I do download all the Clack from the Concerts I have attended. I listen to Clay on my iPod. In fact 75% of what is on my iPod is Clay. I like other Singers and Songs....but I don't have the emotional reaction to them that I have to Clay.

I think ATDW was v.v. artistic and a good indication of what type of music and production Clay likes

This may well be true...but I think it is only part of who Clay is. I truely believe he loves singing Uptempo Songs....he just comes alive when he sings them. I think he got very, very bored with some of the songs on this Tour.

  4. ETA: Hope the show pays the taxes so Clay can get his 30 camps!!! Maybe cause it's charity, they don't have to pay any!!! Hope, hope hope!!! Any tax attorneys in the house

Not a Tax Attorney but, since TBAF is a Tax Exempt Charitable Organization I don't think there will be any taxes.

  5. I had a difficult time concentrating in Indio...between the shirt that fit him so well and the rivet winking at me. *g*

    Oh and the skin!

Something interesting I noticed at Indio, after he walked out in the crowd for HYCA, he walked right in front of me to get back on the stage. I was in the second row almost all the way to the side. He got a smirk on his face, once he was past most of the people. The little shit knows exactly what he is doing. And yeah the crowd went crazy when he was out in the audience.

WhooHoo Canooky is here! You gonna bring Leroy with ya?

  6. *Waves back to CarolinaClay*

There sure are ALOT of familiar names here! *g* Well I am Desertflower. When I joined the CH, I wanted a name that was not Claycentric. I'm not terribly imaginative unfortunately. I live in the Desert, and like a Flower in the Desert I can be sweet, but prickly at the same time...hence Desertflower.

I have been a fan since Movie Night....I would have been at "Take", but I didn't watch an episode till Movie Night. I have been involved with the Message Boards since the Summer of 2003. I still watch AI...but as my son says...to insult it. I like several others from AI....like is the key word. Clay I love. This is the first and only fandom I have been a part of.

I see LOTS of Smut, Smutters, and Crotch Shots here.....but hey Queen of the Smut Musifest is here! He does have a very ample crotch. I gotta wonder sometimes how he fits it in his pants. Maybe that is why his butt is always sagging...he's got to get jeans large enough to accommodate his package.

I notice KAndre thinks IYDKMBN belongs to her. I got news there is a new player on the scene and that is my favorite song (after LAA) that Clay has sung. I just love Clay singing Motown-he has such a soulful voice.

Hair? Usually could care less. I figure it will change soon anyhow. The only style that really made me cringe was the fauxhawk and he immortalized that one in merchandise. I wonder if he forgot to look in the mirror for that one? Favorites? AIW, ATDW Promotion, JBT, Raleigh 3-fer. But please no more spikes, that is so 2003.

I agree rcknrllmom, he has grown into one damn fine looking man. I do think early on, they made a concerted effort to make him look younger than he really was.

  7. Hi I'm Desertflower! I post at the CH and CV, but primarily at the CH. I became of Fan of Clay's during Movie Night. I wasn't into AI and had watched one episode of AI, and liked Kelly-but I worked at night (still do) and missed all the subsequent episodes. One night I was home with nothing to do and was flipping channels and decided to watch AI. It was movie night. I saw a Man with the best voice I had ever heard. It gave me chills. After that night I changed my work schedule to be home the nights AI was on. I fell more in love with Clay every week. Didn't see the sexy though....that would come later.

At the Finale I was sure Clay would win. Even though I wasn't hooked in the Internet Fandom, I could see the favoritism....even my family who weren't Clay Fans could see it. I still was sure that Clay would prevail and win. When he didn't I felt like I had been punched in the gut, I literally couldn't breathe.

After his Promo appearances, I didn't hear anything about Clay and was afraid I had lost him forever. I finally googled Clay Aiken. I must have been daft not to have done it earlier. I found the CB, but didn't realize there was a Message Board....but I did learn that he was in London Recording. The Clingle came out and every store I went to was sold out. I realized Clay was gonna be OK. I searched and searched for Rollingstone and finally found it...WOW! I had no idea he was gonna pose like THAT for the Cover. V.Very NICE! About this time I found the CB Message Board, but the Photoshopped Angel Wings really turned me off...ended up at TTC. I devoured every bit of info...I found the Demos..OMGGGGG!!!!! Then the AI Tour started. The first Download of Clay singing Invisible! The Sexy hit me like a ton of bricks and I was a gonner...still am. *g* After TTC imploded I went over to the CB. But it never really fit me, and I was primarily a Lurker. I found the CH and said that is my kind of Board and during the IT I joined. I also joined CV when it opened and loved it. I became disillusioned at CV quite some time ago.....I still love many of the Posters over there though.

In reading this Board, it is nice to have somewhere to be fangirly where everyone loves Clay....because even after 4 years I love than Man even more every time I see him.

Sorry for the tome...I got carried away.
