  1. Let me start this post by saying THANK YOU for all the birthday wishes on Thursday :F_05BL17blowkiss: I don't get over here nearly as often as I'd like, and was so surprised to see them. It was like celebrating my birthday all over again!!!!

My favorite "baby" from Mr. Aiken is in Mary did you know when he says "when you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God." I know it's a religious song and should make me feel reverent, but that "baby" hits me in the loins every single time I hear it. :arrowed:

  2. My thoughts exactlly. LOL I laughed at the fact that even from ten people back, while his head was down signing stuff he knew her voice and knew her well enough to snark on her. Her style may never be mine, but I like her...I'm editing because I decided I don't know if 'like' is the right word. I don't know Ethel personally well enough to either register like or dislike...but to me she's like a part of this Clay family...like the aunt who comes to the holiday dinners and maybe talks too loud or pinches your cheeks every time. You might roll your eyes when you hear she's coming, but you know damn well there'd be something missing without her. LOL. I love her for being that part of the fandom for me.

I like that description. She reminds me of my aunt. I understand those that have a probelm if she interrupts their concert experience. But her personality and her interactions with clay on theclack - freakin' hilarious and really don't care about Clay spreading it around. Anyway, when the bruhaha hit at the end of DCAT, at least Ethel had the good sense to recognzie her part in creating the problem and apologizing.

Well Clay has the day off but I don't. hee Better go get ready. Happy Monday. What a wonderful wonderful weekend.

Does anyone know which day Diane was there...was it yesterday...matinee or evening show.

Couchie, the photo was taken following the Sunday matinee.

  3. Just FYI for whoever needs it or knows someone else who does, here is the megaupload of the combined spam video (huge file, people).

And here are the links for it in two large pieces (each half fits nicely on a DVD):

    Part One

    Part Two

I do recommend the five part links I posted before, as such small "bites" seems to be faster and easier for people to manage, especially on dial-up.

Clay-fan kid and I watched the video today and when it was over, she went upstairs with a kind of dance in her step and said, "I feel like dancing now!" heh We think the parts Clay is playing are great...and she liked the musical much better than the Monty Python movie (not surprising, really).

00lsee, the link that says part two is a repeat of part one.

  4. Look up ^^^ Ansa. :-)

    From the Emmy's website:

Awards are also handed out for animation, reality series and other programming, and four acting categories. Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series went to Leslie Caron for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series went to Elaine Stritch for 30 Rock; Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series went to John Goodman for Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip; and Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series went to Stanley Tucci for Monk.

I was hoping it would be the guy from Boston Legal. His character has Asperger's syndrome (which is a form of autism) and he is just amazing in the role. And  for the Daly show. I love Jon Stewart and hope to see Clay on his show someday.

  5. is that xtina with Tony Bennet? they sound great!

The half-naked dancers were extraordinarily tacky and distracting. Good job disguising Christina's pregnancy, and she did sound good when she wasn't melisma-ing up the end. In your face, Britney! Tony looked a little lifeless.

I just tuned in - has the whole show so far been so - I dunno - cheap and rough-seeming? Not impressed so far.

Since Conan just won, I'd say cheap and rough would be a good start at summing it up.

  6. Okay, so it's official. I don't want to live in a world where Asshole O'Brien and Skanky Griffin both win Emmy's in the same year.

I think I have to turn them off now.

I know exactly how you feel. But Clay Aiken also lives in this world, and reminding myself of that helps bring things back into perspective. At times like this it just seems that the bottom feeders are winning and that's a very scary thought!

  7. I missed the cheap shot to Paula...was getting dinner.

Katherine Heigel looks gorgous, as usual. She's so tall and slim, she can wear anything and make it look great.

Who's this guy who is either crying or drunk?

Thomas Hayden Church. He acts in a lot of westerns. He won for supporting actor in a miniseries, but I don't know which one. And he was crying. Dedicated his award to his deceased father.

  8. Oh (down evil jealousy!!) I'm wishing I could go to a Christmas concert.

I guess I have no right to complain since I AM going to Las Vegas.

Will I see some of you there?

I'll be there. DH and I are flying in on Sunday so we'll have a few days to play before the big event. We're staying at the Orleans but it has a shuttle to the strip. Maybe DH will win some more money. He won enough in Indio, the night after the concert to fund our airline tickets to Florida!

Can't wait to see you and all the other Clayfans! :xmas07a:

  9. Blue Bell ice cream is from a little creamery in Brenham (lord, I've even memorized all their ads!) It's a local Texas ice cream - and the first "premium" I ever ate. When I was young, ice cream came in those no name square boxes unless your grandmother pulled out the ice cream maker and my grandmother saw no reason to waste electricity when she had dozens of grandchildren laying about - my grandmother's was the best ice cream in the world but the back breaking labor involved was horrible - and then you had to share with those other lazy bastards who only showed up after the work was done! Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla provide the taste and texture of Mama Reedie's ice cream without the work.

And their Mint Chocolate Chip is to die for! I know, the two main ingredients would put boyfriend in the hospital. :scream: But it is soooo good!

  10. It just hit me... did I read it was 10 below zero in minneapolis last year. Does this mean I need more than my Clay Aiken hoodie for the evening? :cryingwlaughter: I don't even own a coat.

Hee! :D When I traveled to NYC for the first Joyful Noise tour I bought a coat at a resale shop. (Wasn't about to add a brand new coat to my other travel expenses!) And I've worn it one time since then. Believe it or not, we had snow in Houston on Christmas Eve in 2005. Of course it was gone by 10:00 the next morning, but it was great fun while it lasted.

  11. So now we are talking sad movies? Don't watch sad movies, I am more of a Musical girl myself and black and white movies from the 40's (Casablanca is my all time favorite), but I will admit that It's a Wonderful Life, gets me teary-eyed everytime.

Yay! for the Omaha date! I am only doing Merrillville, but I am happy for those in the area!

    Kim

Since Bottlecap admitted she'd neer seen Titanic, I'll be brave and admit I've never seen It's a Wonderful Life. And I probably really am the only person in America who hasn't. I think I've always been a bit afraid that it wouldn't live up to all the hype. :noidea:
